How did you meet Minerva and when did she evolve?

Minerva was found in an airport. Some seedy stop that was between johto and sinnoh, I bought a real cheap ticket and wanted to travel. Normal teenage thing. So while waiting to catch my next flight, I had like a four hour wait, obviously you go and snoop around while you got time to kill, and I happened across a guy selling Pokemon, rare and some shiny. You could tell it wasn’t a caring vendor, but he boasted breeding them all personally, vouching for their ease to raise because of his input (turns out he was just real aggressive and the Pokemon were scared of him). Most looked, well, nervous but healthy I suppose, but one did not. Stacked away from full view I found what would come to be Minerva. She had the shiny gene but her fur was ridden with some kind of mange, and the usual pinkness of her fluff was dull, very subtle, dusty coloured. She did nothing but cry the whole time I tried to talk to her, and huddled away in the corner to avoid any contact or attention. A very sad case, which I asked the guy about out of anger, more than anything else. He blamed the parent Pokemon, as they had abandoned her early, giving her little care and attention. I suppose you could say she was the runt of the litter. Instead of him doing his damn job, he left her to see if she would survive it, and she did. A fighter from the very start, even if she didn’t know it herself, that little Buneary defied the odds and made it to the airport, to be sold. Her fellow shiny Buneary (he said he had about 15, she was the last one) had all been chosen, paid for and taken away. So I asked her price, which was more than the money I had at the time, and had to haggle him down a bit due to her condition, leaving me with no savings, no money for my trip, no way to get food, no way to afford a hotel, and no way to get home. I had planned to buy the return ticket when I had seen the new location enough, and was ready to return, that was now not an option.

So I started the trip broke, with a sick Pokemon, this was pre-professor studies so I had to learn a lot on the job then and there, and I didn’t have anyone to send me money. We spent the whole trip nursing her, training her, she didn’t battle at all, but we had to to make money. I had Valka and Booker already, so we did manage to get enough to eat on that first night, and we could buy some medicine, and a cheap tent from a junk store, it had some holes but we made do. That first night in a tent we were all in a pile going to sleep, I had an umbrella plugging one hole above us, where rain kept dripping in, and we were all looking through a magazine I stole from the waiting room at the pharmacy, going through interviews and images and stories, the Buneary saw beautiful Pokemon, people, precious items, it was some fashion mag, so she got her first real look into that world, and she fell in love. I’m pretty sure she stayed up all night reading it, by morning she had found a sharp-ish key from my pocket, and had crudely cut out items of clothing, jewellery, and one word. A random name, from a tiny footnote, credit to a photographer, Minerva was the woman’s last name, and the little Buneary had carefully cut it out and put it on her chest like a name tag. It was the first decision she had ever been allowed to make for herself, and a huge deal, so the name stuck.

Spent 8 months in sinnoh in total, and in that time Minerva learned how to come out of her shell. She had been malnourished, and was really touch starved, having been rejected from just about everything she ever knew, plus basically fleas. We worked on her feelings a lot, you’d not know it looking at her now, but the shyness was really an issue, she didn’t have confidence to fight, so we trained her without actual battle, worked it into games, and about 4 months in she partook in her first fight, winning by a landslide. It took all that time of confidence building, and play fighting, and working with her, along side the others, and only one battle got her to evolve. It was a shock to everyone, she changed to Lopunny, her pink returned as her weight did, the fleas she once had were treated, her energy levels went up, fear went down, and with lots of grooming she really did repair in amazing time. Her love of fashion and design grew and grew, what money we had spare during our trip went to the team, and usually that included a new item of clothing for her. She learnt to be loved, and now she’s a sassy sweet wonderful Pokemon, who keeps me on my toes by starting rebellions, breaking into the weapons lockers, and generally encouraging Pokemon to be their most authentic selves....which usually is her manipulating them to do what she wants and cause trouble. If she’s with me she’s pretty chill, if someone else has to handle her...I pity them. You can keep her happy and less difficult if you give her spa items and activities to do. She will spend days on self-care and pampering, and will even do so with others should they be likeminded.

Minerva is now one of my strongest partners, she’s a near permanent member of the team, save for the days where she’s having some her-time, which we alwasy allow for. Her confidence talks for shiny Pokemon who are either handed to us, or brought by trainers for help, have improved the lives of many. Some will camp out on the island and let their Pokemon go and be semi-wild again, giving them a holiday, time to interact with their own kind, and often learn how to utilise their skills, abilities, and to learn tips and tricks from their own about how to better care for their bodies and minds.

First book of the comic PMD Anthology, Anamnesis, is completed. Anamnesis is about de/reconstructing important elements from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. Some stories are influenced by r/mysterydungeon prompts (even though I’m not really liked there lol) and reader suggestion.

Book 1 has 9 stories with a little over 100 pages.

In honor of Pokemon Day, I'm just gonna answer some questions and talk about my own Pokemon journey and all that fun stuff 😀

First Pokemon Game?

--Pokemon Pearl!! My parents bought it for me for Christmas in 2007. They also got me a pink Nintendo DS Lite as well 🥰 I still have it. In 2009, my parents bought me Pokemon Platinum for my birthday. I remember that day well. They took me to Cheddars to eat, then when we got home my Mom gave me the game 🥰

First Starter Pokemon?

-CHIMCHAR!!! I named him Fireball 🔥! I know...10 year old me was so original lmaooo. He's now sitting in my game all alone 😪 Also...Fireball had pokerus??? He spread it to my whole team so that was pretty cool.

-Favorite Starter Pokemon?

-....fuck that's a hard one. I'm going to say Snivy because she carried me throughout Pokemon Black and White.

-List all the starter Pokemon you've had.

I loved Shauna! She was a lot of fun! Brendan was cool too...and I left my heart on Iron Island with Riley 🥰

--Barry 🥰

Silver and Gary were also fantastic rivals and they always gave me a good challenge. Hop is also my favorite and I actually felt bad for beating him 😅

--Favorite Pokemon Champion?

-The only one that have really made a impression on me was Cynthia. I don't know the name of the other Champions lmaooo.

--Favorite Antagonists?

-Team Galactic. Always and Forever. I miss their ugly ass bowl cuts 🥰

N was super interesting too.

-Favorite Eveelution?

-Vaporeon! I got a Evee in Pokemon Pearl and named her Cerulean 🥰 she was super strong. Second favorite is Sylveon. My Sylveon was super OP in Pokemon X.

-Favorite Pokemon Game?

-Pokemon X. It was the first game where I could design my character and choose to be black. Not only that, I just loved that I had SO MANY childhood friends and that they could have a nickname for me. I spent a good chunk of my money on clothes, and then I couldn't buy potions for Gym Challenges. At least I looked stylish 😎 Plus, I loved Mega Evolutions and the story of Pokemon XY in general. (I'm still pissed we didn't get Pokemon Z)

--A Pokemon Game I could appreciate more?

- Definitely Pokemon Black and White. I wish I had played Pokemon BW 2, but at the time it was announced I was particularly interested in it. Not only that...I was struggling in school and I knew my parents weren't going to buy it for me so I never asked...now that I'm a adult I guess I can play it xD

--Least Favorite Pokemon Game?

-Pokemon Sun and Moon. I don't even want to get into it 😕

--Pokemon Game I wished I finished

- Pokemon Yellow is sitting in my Nintendo 3DS...I don't think I've booted it up since high school or my first year of college 😅 I hacked the game to get Mew, so that was cool!

--Pokemon game you're currently playing?

-Pokemon Sword and Shield! I just got to the top of Rose Tower to see what Leonand Chairman Roseare up to 👀! I'll buy the DLC in a couple of months. I seriously love this game. It's so much fun. Some of the newer mechanics did irritate me at first, but I looked past and as a whole it's a good game.

And whenever I think about it...I play Pokemon Soul Silver too. Same with Pokemon: Let's Go Evee!

--Favorite Pokemon Movie?

-Pokemon Movie 2000!!! The Celebi movie was fantastic too! Actually all the Kanto/Johto/Hoenn movies were good.

--Favorite Pokeani Season?

-Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. I loved getting up early before school and watching a few episodes.

hello hello! im just here asking for a team request, if that’s okay w you :0 I’m Fi, an Aries and INFP! My birthday is March 29th, and my favorite color is pink!! I have a lot of favorite animals, including rabbits, squids, frogs, and birds. I have a few hobbies as well, including playing games, drawing, cosplay, shiny hunting, and listenin to music. Hi! Just a notice for anyone reading, if you ask for a team request I’ll go ahead & assign a partner too most of the time! This one was fun to come up with!

♡ Your partner would be shiny Buneary! Buneary is a cute & small rabbit Pokemon that is commonly found is various forested or mountainous areas. It’s very, very timid. This Pokemon is known for being the most difficult “normal” (non-legendary/mythical/UB) to grow close to at first. It isn’t so much hard to get along with as it is hard to truly earn its trust. Working to open up Buneary’s thick emotional defense is merely a task of patience & being a loving trainer. Since you personally understand what having major trust issues is like, this can make Buneary be the perfect Pokemon for you. You will instinctively know the patience, warmth & acceptance Buneary needs, without getting your feelings hurt from not understanding why Buneary doesn’t “like” you instantly. Once trust is acquired, this will be the the most rewarding of relationships & few Pokemon rival the bond Buneary has with its trainer once the gap has been bridged. At this stage, it usually evolves into a Lopunny. Once evolved, the bond grows even stronger. This Pokemon line is otherwise easy to train! Not many special needs. Just make sure not to put them in stressful or overly loud places, and they’re fine! They’re fluffy & lovely to cuddle with, and their diet is mainly plant material. Many individuals have a favorite flower they personally prefer as treats. They are known to be a little scatterbrained & clumsy, but at the same time they have a surprisingly athletic side to them, and can be wonderful in battle. They usually hate battling though, since their nerves are so fragile. (A mega-evolution capable Lopunny is a totally different story, however)

♡ Cyndaquil is another timid Pokemon. It is not nearly as emotionally cautious as Buneary, so it’s not particularly hard to get along with. Being a starter Pokemon, it’s actually easier to get along with than many Pokemon, as they’re bred to be good first time Pokemon. Most of the time it would just prefer to sleep & peacefully hang out with its trainer. When very tired, it rolls up into a ball. It also rolls into a ball when scared. It ignites the flames on its back if attacked, and it also ignites if startled. Cyndaquil is a furry fire type, so naturally it’s very soft & warm to touch.

♡ Flaaffy, Pikipek & Poliwag are more intuitive choices I just thought fit you nicely! Flaaffy has wool that stores electricity, so it can zap you! The pink, soft & rubbery areas of its body are safe to touch, though. Their tails glow when they store enough electricity. Pikipek is a cute bird Pokemon with big friendly eyes! They have a knack for collecting anything that catches their eye & make their homes in trees they make holes in. Poliwag is a tadpole Pokemon that does much better in water, but would rather be on land. They always need to be near water, however. A trainer should help their Poliwag walk daily to strengthen their legs.

♡ Ribombee (shiny) is famous for its production of Pollen Puffs. They can be used a attacks, or be used for healing. Many Alolans use them as supplements for the health benefits. They avoid rain, since it makes collecting pollen almost impossible & make it a little too heavy for proper flight. So always keep it dry & fluffy! It is sometimes used as a way to predict weather, since it can sense what weather is coming by detecting moisture levels & wind direction. Like Cutiefly, it can tell what flowers have the best Pollen by reading auras only this line can see. This aura detection can also be effective on any other living creature. Since people with intense or strong emotions resemble the aura of an ideal flower, they will gather around such people (usually positive strong emotions). It can use this to detect the mood of others, so this can be of use in many situations including battle or seeing who is safe & who isn’t for them to approach. This Pokemon is often used by gardeners & florists, as it can predict when & how well a flower will bloom. Ribombee will be useful for anyone with trust issues, as it can detect & inform its trainer who to steer clear from & who is “safe”.
