The Gideon Group was inside my school today.

TL;DR: public school teacher in small town standing up to the Gideon Group. I need advice.

I'm a teacher in a public school in a fairly homogeneous small community. Last year, the Gideon group came into the building and went from 5th grade class to 5th grade class and "offered" Bibles. I had one child decline, and the Gideons "kindly" said that they can just "take it for later". The child, being a child, didn't push back as these are elders giving them out and no one has told them that it's okay to decline a Bible. I stepped in and reminded the Gideons that the student said, "no, thank you." This got me a scornful eye, but that doesn't bother me.

I brought up the incident with my admin and told them how it made me feel alienated within this community. They were very understanding, and apologized. It upset me that they were in the building and being escorted around. I figured the issue was done. Fast forward to today, the last day of school. The Gideons are back and setup in the gym to "offer" various books and stories to anyone. In the gym today is a "graduation" ceremony for the kids in which friends and family are also in attendance.

Can I please get some advice on how to more vocally oppose this push of secular religion inside a public school?

Here are 2 of my shot of Tim Polecat of The Polecats who is best known for the mid-80s hit “Make A Circuit With Me”. My first memory of Tim was outside The Viper Room around 99’ when Bow Wow Wow their first reunion show in a decade. Anthony Kiedis, Steve Jones and Billy Corgan were in attendance too. I remember Tim did something that night that designated him as a party king in my mind. Years past and I became friends with Tim and Tammi. Those Halloween Parties they threw were epic! Tim continues to perform all over the world with him band with the exception of our current pandemic. “Make Circuit With Me” to be nite worth hit and part of Disney/Pixar’s WALL-E. These are some photos of Tim I took while performed at Tiki Oasis last year was a great opportunity to see him live. Today is Tim’s birthday. He’s turning 57.
