netflix one piece live action feels a little like fanfic in that it makes sure it hits all the important notes but doesnt do all the work to make them hit which works in fic where the reader is supposed to bring all the emotional story investment from the original but doesnt work in a multi million adaptation that is supposed to be able to stand on its own or even serve as an intro to the series. it even does this in service to have more koby and helmeppo gay moments in this essay i w

Endymion Nightbough hails from the Black Shroud and loathes Gridania with nearly his entire being. The sad irony of the matter is he often is required to be in said place for extended periods of time. It was his own fault really, he knew exactly what he was going to have to deal with upon joining the Lancer's Guild. It wasn't a choice he made on a whim, mind you. Despite the foul taste Gridania left in his mouth, he wished for change or at the very least encourage others to take the neccesary steps for a better city-state. Endymion was no fool, he is not under the impression that his deeds alone can make a substantial dent. Regardless, it's one he is willing to work towards.

Endymion joined the guild with the intent of one day become it's leader. The guild was already terribly scarce of other Duskwights, the numbers thinning by the day. He can't say he blames any one of them for leaving, were he not dedicated to his cause he may have up and left himself. His sense of duty was both a vice and a virtue. Truth be told, he really isn’t fond of his guild mates. The kind enough ones kept him at a polite distance and the rest… well, they certainly had a lot to say about his stiff demeanor when they thought he couldn’t hear them. Worse yet, the same lot that spit in on his name seemed hellsbent on trying to monopolize his spare time under the claim of bonding. He humors it, even when he really shouldn’t. When push comes to shove and tragedy strikes, Endymion ultimately resigns from the guild. He sets out on a journey, to think over what he truly wants in life.

Prior to quitting the guild, Ywain had bestowed him a mission to assist an Ishgardian friend by the name of Alberic. Endymion was never one to truly abandon a task, but as he no longer felt fit for the role- he could not in good conscience go through with assisting Ser Alberic. “Fret not, I have no intentions to leave you high and dry. I have someone more than capable of the job… if you are willing to listen.” He knew well that Lovette Vairemont wanted to see Ishgard, and this may be a necessary step closer to that dream. While Ywain was more than willing to entrust the matter to her, he trusted Endymion’s judgment as well as his work ethic, Lovette herself was reluctant. She wasn’t a true member of the guild, but with some gentler encouragement from Endymion, she agrees. “You’re terribly kind behind that glare of yours!” She had told him.

Despite Endymion’s standoffish nature, once he has warmed up he’s a staunch ally to have in your court. As per his Duskwight heritage, found family is just as important- if not more important than blood family. Even if all odds seemed to be stacked against you, Endymion is the type of man who would still vouch for you. Time and time again he did as much for the likes of Dorian Netherfell, who took far too much pleasure in running with the wild rumors surrounding his mysterious origin. Odd as he is, Endymion knows he’s a good man at the end of the day. Unfortunately for him, Dorian has taken a liking to playfully annoying him any chance he gets… it could be worse, he supposes.

Despite not being a “Warrior of Light” as well being most certainly echoless, Endymion’s part in the heroes journey is nothing to scoff at. The very first of his deeds ends up crossing paths with some familiar faces amongst Saint Coinach’s Find. Were you to tell him that would be entering the Crystal Tower with old and new friends alike, he would not believe you.

ANYWAY IT WAS SO STUPID but essentially, both my friend and i showed up late to class on tuesday (for separate reasons) , and there's two other people in the class who consistently show up late ALSO... and so i guess it really pissed off my teacher that day for 4+ ppl to be late??? esp since we were talking abt the reasons why, AND our class discussion ended up sucking (as usual tbh)...

but she sent out this really mean-spirited (other people thought so too) email after class titled "gentle reminders" that essentially was like: "i know we usually spend the first 15 minutes of class time talking (which my professor is a huge part of LOL), but it is ESSENTIAL for you to show up on time, after that period you will be counted absent, it's part of your participation grade" blah blah...

and like... idk. it just felt really demoralizing cuz FIRST OF ALL, she was glaring at us in class, and second of all, my friend was late because she attends AA at seven in the morning every day, another girl has soccer practice in the mornings AND has a sprained foot, and my bus only comes once every 30 minutes so if i miss it, i'm automatically late by extension...

(and that day, even though i woke up late, i literally made an effort to go to class instead of skip)

SO I DIDN'T WANNA GO THE NEXT CLASS AFTER and be all happy and smiley when i honestly felt a little disrespected on everyone's behalf.

watching the clips from NCT Dream's The Dream Show 2 made me feel a lootttt of things since a lot happened actually. Overall it just made me realize how thankful and proud I am for the 7 of them and I hope they'll stay together for how many years seeing how much they really treasure their friendship and even us their fans.

yknow i was initially a little worried about the new liella members, not because I thought I wouldn’t like the characters or their voices or anything (there’s not a single love live character or voice that hasn’t grown on me HDKJSDJFDHJFD) but because I was a little disappointed that we’d be losing the really unique sound of having three active groups with different member amounts (Aqours with 9, Nijigasaki with 12, and Liella with 5) and I loved how often they’d mix it up with different duets but i guess I didn’t really need to worry too much ‘cause every post-9-member liella song so far has been FANTASTIC, they’re keeping a lot of the unique sound of their 5 member formation (lots of different voice combos, relatively down-to-earth vocal timbres, etc) PLUS now theres this fun new pop-rocky emphasis? yuragu wa is UNTOUCHABLE
