#just wanted to emphasize the Master's expressions here #the biggest 'his gaze softened' to have ever 'his gaze softened'-ed #you can see him going from confused to the moment when he's finally touched with realization by ten's word with the eyebrow raise #and how he's visibly holding back the tears and simply can't contain a smile that only grows bigger #and the way he looks at then by the end really has a mix of emotions but for me it screams longing #because with the way he says “yeah” and his thoughtful expression at the beginning he very likely was reminiscing their memories together #and he comes to realization that yeah. what were they without each other. #or you can say that he just finally felt touched that ten isn't willing to let go of the 2 of them together after everything the master did #considering this was the first time we saw him in a moment of vulnerability. he was scared even #he opened himself very briefly for the first time and ten still showed compassion towards him #okay this got way longer that I thought but I think a LOT was spoken here even with no words #a big applause to john simm's facial acting here of course #thoschei #tensimm #best enemies #doctor who #tenth doctor #10th doctor #simm!master

rewatching S6 in bits and pieces for current fic and ahhhhhhhhhh but the whole Jack, Diana, Mosley and Lizzie final dinner is so *viscerally* fucking satisfying on every sensory and intellectual and emotional level of consumption.

#every single movement facial expression breath flick of an eye the choice of 'mosley' not 'mr mosley' #the way mosley says 'lizzie' for the first time #jack's buildup and his mad fucking innuendo just before diana and oswald show #particularly how every drink is taken and by whom and when #lizzie constantly holding herself back the entire time from Saying Something all these flinches and half-breaths #insane #INSANE #as much as the end of S3 is roaringly wrenchingly furiously emotionally good #this dinner is something else #this whole episode is pretty much something else though fffffffffffff #jack's patronising constant reference to tommy as if he's a much younger man/boy when you look at these two guys and jack looks younger?? #by design i am sure #in the scene with the tie before the dinner.the way tommy's face says one thing while facing away from lizzie #then he puts on that mask as he turns to face her and you can SEE HIM DO THAT jesus #it would a writing exercise and a half to actually try to capture that scene in writing and work out what needs to be said/described #to carry the same effect because @coffeeatnight23 -> this scene is totally Tommy ripping his own heart out then eating it with relish :) #it *is* the saddest thing but also a fucking *reclamation* of something that tommy hasn't had since his suicide attempt. there's lots of #small reclamations of self that happen in post-Ruby S6 i seem to recall. despite flicks old trauma/foggy memory wandering also this- #-sort of structural shift/acceptance he is who he is and that is how he has agency (not solely money?) #anyway it's not triumph but there is *something* that i haven't found the word for yet #acceptance is one word but there's something more vicarious and dark in it that acceptance doesn't connote

All of which I know jack shit about the stories or spoilers. I’ve started Batman Arkham Asylum and I’m in the middle of Half Life 2 Episode 1. So far I’m having a blast

#i tried using a controller for Batman Arkham Asylum but quickly went fuck it and used my keyboard instead #how do y’all do it??? there’s so many fucking button combinations?!!! #i tried to remember the patterns but it was really diffficult and keyboard simplifies a lot so keyboard it is #and WHY IS THERE SO MANY RIDDLER BULLSHITS TO COLLECT??!! #240?!!!! WHY #so far I have little over 25% of them and it’s going to be a pain in the ASS collecting the stuff I need to go back through levels #i will say the facial expressions for Arkham Asylum are super stiff and the dialogue is very very rough #but visual and gameplay wise this shit aged wonderfully for a game made in 2008 #it’s very neat and fun and I’m having a blast but I really don’t feel the motivation story wise to do what I need to do??? like in Half Life #you got backstory and motivation and everything #with Arkham Asylum you’re just in the Asylum and you now have to stop Joker but it’s not as pressing of an issue #I’m also not used to open world games #like sure you can’t go TOO far but you can explore an entire island?!!! how cool is that?!?!! #I’m so used to railroad shooters that this is so neat I’ve never played an open world game #bones speaks

I was so anxious today even tho i was on top of my self care slash mental well being basics check-list... I suspect it was the caffeine on top of already worsening anxious Symptoms

#it was def that combo bc i did everything else right #i was weirdly calm for the first 15 mins of my commute this morning and then it was all downhill from there fr #i got so self conscious and anxious after that and then in class i stuttered twice and seemed so unsure of myself even though i was #otherwise communicating quite coherently and fluidly #and then after class at the coffee shop where i attended my online lecture i was so on edge #i think the matcha latte just added onto the shot of espresso for the worse #which is strange because thats really not a lot of caffeine? i literally had two shots of espresso the other day and got really hyper but i #didnt want to die about it or cry about it #so yeah ^_^ its probs bc the past two days have been rough so it snowballed #also i had a weird moment on my commute home #i was so nostalgic bc it was all warm and rainy and the sky was a warm grey #but then i was so melancholy i wanted to cry #and i swear in that moment i felt like something earth shattering was happening to me because i was so refreshed by the memories of a past #self but it all felt so strangely tragic. i didn't just feel happy. i felt happy and then distraught #and i probably looked like a fool because i cant control my facial expressions as well as i used to be able to #i feel like im being dramatic again but 乁⁠(⁠ ⁠•⁠_⁠•⁠ ⁠)⁠ㄏ i have the mind of a poet or whatever the hell they say #i dont think they say that #z.post
