for @kyouka-supremacy, with apologies for being a LIAR because I apparently remembered the second time Dazai sings his stupid song wrong. They're not that different. With notable work to take into account the new words but not ~completely~ different like I said. (always double check yourself before making claims on the internet kids)
I included the original before for easier comparison. The OG song is more noticeably different because they're trying to fit one thousand syllables in a very short time.

Omg hej anon - mange tak for anmodningen! I’m so excited that you like my OC Freda, I really do love her & I’m excited to introduce y’all to my other OCs sometime soon too ^^
The song that Freda sings is linked here!
- JJ x
~~~~~~~~~~
Freda smiled softly, sighing lightly as she finally sat down on her comfy bed after a long day, “Ah, finally I can relax.” The young lady slipped off her black high heels and almost moaned at the feeling of the cool air on her sore feet, “Sikke en dag!” The maid pulled her hair from it’s bun and wandered over to her vanity, gazing at her own face in the mirror before reaching for her hairbrush, repeating herself and suppressing a little yawn, “Sikke en dag.”
“Hm, I think that Freda’s Dutch could use some work,” Vincent thought to himself out loud as he caught her voice from where he was passing by her bedroom door, “Maybe you could teach her some more, Theo?” Vincent smiled sweetly at his brother who happened to be walking down the corridor towards him from the parlor.
“Teach who what, broer? I don’t have the time to be a tutor.” The tall art dealer questioned his blond, angelic older brother as he stopped in front of him, his observant china blue eyes wandering towards Freda’s bedroom door, “Depends what it is ...”
“Well,” Vincent smiled almost guiltily at Theo, his own head turning to gaze at the beloved maid’s door, “I think Freda is practicing her Dutch to be able to talk to us and well,” the artist whispered the last part of his sentence, “Her pronunciation is all off. I can barely understand her.”
Before Theo could respond, Freda began to hum softly, a sound which brought smiles to both of the van Gogh’s faces - her voice was sweet and pretty, much like she was. The lady began to sing a song which neither of them knew, in fact, they were both sure of the fact that it was not from their time, “Dag for dag, inde bag mit vindue. År for år, ingen kiggede ind. Alt den tid, uden at ku’ se det. Jeg har været blind.”
Theodorus frowned slightly despite the warmth which Freda’s voice brought to his heart, “ ‘s  not like any Dutch I know. Some of the words are similar, ja, but,” the vampire turned towards his brother who simply shrugged, “I don’t what nonsense she’s speaking. Maybe Comte would know.”
“Know what, Theo my old chap?” A third, annoyingly British voice entered the conversation. Arthur slung his arm around his friend’s broad shoulders but was soon brushed off by the 6ft tall Dutchman, “How you’re finally going to tell the bird that you fancy her?”
“Shut up, klootzak,” the taller man rolled his eyes, crossing his arms as he looked back towards Freda’s door, almost glaring at it as if he were trying to see through the wood which kept her from view, “We can’t work out what language hondje is speaking in.”
Arthur grinned, casually strolling up to the door and pressing his ear against it, making a show of listening for Freda’s beautiful voice, “If it involves me being able to hear our princess’ inner thoughts, I’d be happy to help.” The author scooched closer to the door, pressing against it just gently enough as to not alert Freda to his presence, “I wonder what dirty things go on in that pretty head of her’s?”
“Just listen, Arthur.” Vincent sighed, his heart fluttering when Freda began to sing again.
“Nu’ jeg her, ser de tusind stjerner. Nu’ jeg her, Midt i deres skær. Denne nat, har vist mig at, jeg er hvor jeg skal vær’!”
Arthur drew away from the door, blushing ever so slightly as his heart seemed to beat a little faster than it had before, “Certainly a very pretty song our bird sings,” he pondered for a moment before holding up his hands in defeat, “But I don’t know the language. It’s Germanic, I can tell you that much, possibly Scandinavian or some kind of regional German dialect.” The navy haired vampire took a few steps back to stand with Theo and Vincent, holding his chin in thought, “But, who am I to say? I only know English and French.”
“Og nu ser jeg lyset klart! Nu er tågen helt forsvundet. Og nu ser jeg lyset klart, det gør himlen ny for mig.”  Freda continued to sing, her voice carrying throughout the mansion until a small crowd of Theo, Arthur, Vincent, Mozart, Jean and Isaac had gathered outside of her door, all six of the men as puzzled as the last. The group had stood at the door speculating for what could’ve been an hour, drawing the attention of le Comte,
“I thought I had taught my residents better than to eavesdrop on my little jewel,” the head of the household spoke sternly to the six lesser vampires loitering outside of Freda’s door, frowning as he approached them, “What seems to be the trouble, gentlemen?”
It was Jean who spoke, the man who was possibly the most distressed about the situation out of all of them, “What is the mysterious tongue the mademoiselle speaks?”
“Freda?” le Comte questioned aloud which drew the woman out from her room, her chocolate brown hair flowing down her back and her dove grey eyes clear and beautiful like precious stones, “Oh, my apologies, ma chère, I didn’t mean to call for you.” His golden gaze was warm and kind as he admired her, “I saw that some of my precious children had gathered by your door and was wondering what they were doing here at such an hour.”
“O-oh,” Freda blushed softly when she noticed that she was being watched carefully by seven sets of curious eyes, “I’m sorry to bother you all with my singing, I was just thinking that I miss speaking Danish with other people.” The young lady’s embarrassed expression morphed into pure confusion as Vincent and the others who had gathered with him sighed in a mixture of relief and realization, “I’ll shut up now.”
“Please never do!” Vincent replied quite suddenly, bringing his hand up to his lips when he’d realized that he had blurted such a thought out, “What I mean is that your singing is very pretty, Freda.”
“Vincent, you’re too kind,” Freda giggled softly, tucking a strand of her long hair behind her ear, “Dank je.” The lady turned nervously to Theo for approval, whispering to him, “That was correct, right?”
Theodorus nodded with a small smile, reaching out to ruffle Freda’s freshly brushed hair which made her squeak adorably, “Not bad, hondje. Maybe you could teach me Danish sometime. Ya know, to repay me for your Dutch lessons.”
Freda nodded excitedly, bouncing up and down on the spot a little at the notion before she looked at le Comte, once again seeking approval. The pureblooded vampire smiled kindly at the maid, reaching his own hand out to gently caress her cheek, “I’d like it if you taught everyone Danish actually, my jewel.” He smirked in the direction of the other vampires before he spoke again to Freda, “Ved bare, at jeg vil være jaloux over, at jeg ikke længere vil være den eneste, der er i stand til at forstå din intime tunge.”
The woman blushed deeply and nodded at le Comte, their eyes meeting and burning at the held gaze, “Jeg forstå, Comte.”
Arthur rolled his eyes and huffed, crossing his arms, “Of course he speaks Danish.”
What do you think Kassam’s route would have been like if he had been one of the og boys, and how would his character have developed
my guy, i think i had a braingasm the moment i saw this ask! this is such a cool galaxy brain question, i can’t even...
‘cause i think so much about the possibility of kassam as an og, it’s actually ridiculous!! but in order to put him on day 1, i would have to put one of the boys in casa amor, and i’m choosing gary. that’s because lottie is gonna take interest in kassam right away. let me organize these thoughts in order of happenings in the villa...
♪ when mc steps outside, he’s lowkey interested, but he keeps his hands behind his back, only giving her a nod, accompanied by a smirk, when she says hi.
♪ “if any of you fancy me, please step forward.” kassam would be discreetly stepping forward, shooting her a neutral look, since he doesn’t want to come across as desperate, but a wink is also happening.
♪ “why did you step forward, kassam?” “i think we’re gonna hit it off, and you seem like a real sound girl.” bobby would say something like “ha! get it, because he’s a dj!” and laugh, but the prickly boy wouldn’t even look at him, focusing on mc.
♪ if mc chose to couple up with him, he would stand by her side, whispering his conversation, slightly analyzing the other boys.
♪ when lottie struts out, not gonna lie, he’s gonna think she’s attractive, but maybe a little intimidating. i do believe if she stole him (which i very much want to do here, since it’s an o.g kassam route), he’ll be standing next to her, but glancing at mc’s direction.
♪ the truth or dare challenge would probably be the opportunity to send him the picture, but if mc decided to kiss her partner i think that would “scare” kassam a bit. just because i don’t think he’s into p.d.a.
♪ he would have a lot of trouble relating/talking to anyone, because he automatically hates rocco, and for sure has some issues with how much rocco and bobby talk. which leads me to believe he would be closer to noah and ibrahim. (IT’S SO FREAKY TO THINK ABOUT THAT!!).
♪ priya is still gonna steal mc’s partner, which is not a big deal because she’s more interested in kassam than anyone else.
♪ kassam having more time in the villa means he’s also gonna open up to mc, eventually, and i think that’s what i wanted the most in casa amor. something to make us understand why he’s been closed up and extremely on edge at all times, like having the ear tick, the nerves, the quietness, if there’s anything to be talked about, mc would be person he would go to.
♪ music is probably what helps him relax, and right now he’s deprived of that, in every instance, so if the game wanted me to pay gems to bang some pots and do the glasses’ rim trick with him, i would a hundred percent be paying for that!
♪ bobby being musical himself would definitely blossom a connection between them. something that would make him a little fonder of cake boy. “i was wrong to judge you so fast, i guess.” and this could’ve been the “rap gang” throwback to season 1, having kassam doing beats, bobby doing the harmony, probably ibrahim rapping nonsense along with mc, and getting weird lines out of it! i would pay gems every time, i don’t care how much that would cost!
“wow, kassam, thanks...”
SO FUCKING HOT. it would be a tough competition. between ibrahim doing the rubik’s cube trick shirtless, and kassam doing this... i don’t think noah or bobby would stand a chance!
he glances at lottie, shrugging. “there isn’t.”
♪ as revenge, mc would go on the date with jakub, resulting in kassam being apprehensive when it comes to talk about his feelings to her. and very angry and jealous, because that’s just who he is!
okay so I've been a big fan of your work for like almsot three years now and you kinda inspired me to want to start my own gaara fanfic. I am absolutley in love with your characterisation of him (especially in sleep talk with me) and wondered if you maybe could give me some tips? because my story would also take place in the sweet inbetween after the chunin exams and before he becomes kazekage. (and to write him in this time frame is so so hard. damn you barely excitent canon content.)
OMG anon?? That’s such a nice thing to say!! I’m so thrilled that you’re inspired to write your own stuff! I hope you’ll drop me a link to it when it’s finished!! I’m sure it’ll be amazing!! I love that time period for Gaara.
To be honest, I don’t feel like I’m super qualified to give writing “advice” (I say, preparing to give advice), because I’m really just an amateur doing this for fun. But that being said, there’s a couple things that I think are fun or interesting or compelling to explore with Gaara during that timeskip period between OG Naruto and Shippuden ... (Caveat here that these are just my opinions and there’s no one right way to explore this character, and that there’s plenty of interpretations that are worthwhile and fantastic and honestly better than mine!)
So, the first and biggest thing I had to keep drilling into my own head as I was writing Sleeptalk was how staggeringly YOUNG all the characters are pre-Shippuden. Gaara is, like, twelve or thirteen at the chuunin exams and he becomes Kazekage around age fifteen. I don’t know if you remember being fifteen, but I was barely qualified to work my little part-time job at that age! Hell, I’m shocked they let me drive a car (with a learner’s permit, but still). So picturing someone making the decisions he did at that age, even in the context of the militaristic, child-soldier-normalizing context of Naruto is ... a lot.
The biggest thing I think with Gaara--as an adult or as a teenager--is keeping in mind how strongly his trauma shaped him. What Gaara goes through between the end of the chuunin exams and his first appearance in Shippuden is basically an (unrealistically) accelerated trauma recovery. From age 6 to age 12, he basically has no personal connections, no affection, no mentorship or anything other than what appears to be basic “wrangling”. The Naruto wiki says that his dad is the one who trained him in ninjutsu, but it’s hard to picture him being particularly tractable after Yashamaru’s death, so I imagine those trainings were short-lived and probably fairly brutal. After all, it’s said Rasa’s magnet release was the only thing that could control Gaara if he let Shukaku take over. If anything, Rasa’s training methods are probably a lot closer to the Hyuugas’ than to, say, the Akimichi. So I think in addition to the onscreen traumas (the early loss of his mother, his overall rejection by Suna, the forcible termination of his relationship with his siblings, the assassination attempts, and of course Yashamaru’s betrayal), we probably also are looking at someone who was abused in addition to being neglected. Healing from trauma is a lot of work, and it has missteps and backslides in addition to forward progress, so there’s a lot of potential for development of his character there. Thinking about what his healing journey was like, what his setbacks might have been, and how he handled those. And what his major milestones were, too. What were his big signs of progress? His red letter days?
There’s actually a lot we don’t know about Gaara’s childhood between when Yashamaru died and the Konoha Crush, and there’s a lot of room to play in that space and explore possibilities. For example, who took care of his basic caregiving needs? Who made sure he had clothes and food? What did he eat? What were the major events of those six years? Did he ever try to reach out to Temari or Kankuro? To his dad? To Baki? What was the context of the additional assassination attempts? Did he play, and if so, what sort of games might he have played? We know, for example, that he has some artistic talent with the sand--was that something he ever explored? What did he do at night, since he couldn’t sleep? How was he kept awake, and by what or whom? There’s a lot of potential to explore additional, non-canon events that might have been formative. And how did any of that change after the chuunin exams, when he decided he wanted to be seen as more than a weapon? What sorts of things did he have to learn?
We know a very bare minimum about the Suna Council and the politics and culture of Suna, too, and I think there’s a lot of potential interest there. How would the Council have approached Gaara’s announcement of his intention to become Kage, when there were two older (and more emotionally stable) candidates from the same lineage? We know from the light novels that there is still backstabbing and subterfuge and that Gaara’s appointment is controversial even when he’s an adult, so I think there’s a lot of opportunity for political intrigue in the years between part 1 and Shippuden, if that’s your thing.
One of the biggest and most important things that I think was sorely neglected by canon was Gaara’s relationship with his siblings. There’s so much growth that needed to happen there, and Temari and Kankuro were probably still pretty scared of him at first! There’s so much potential for them to grow together as people and to form a new family unit, and exploring how they went from being wary of him (and potentially needing to be prepared to kill him if he got out of control) to a loving sibling relationship! There are a lot of firsts that could be explored there--when did he first acknowledge Kankuro as his older brother, for example? Who was the first to try to give him a hug, and did he (or the sand) allow it?
Finally, I do really want to emphasize the mental health component of Gaara’s journey. Canon leans really heavily on the fact that he has a literal demon sealed inside him and that he’s protected by his mother’s spirit through magic sand, but a lot of his reactions and ways of handling things are really just that of a traumatized child, with or without the additional magic component. If you took a kid Gaara’s age and put them through traumatic events on the scale of what he went through--with or without magical ninja skills--you would likely see similar reactions. The only difference is that Gaara has access to fundamentally unlimited power. (And I think learning that, too--that he can’t just kill or hurt people to get what he wants--would be a huge part of his development and learning process.) So I personally don’t really care for interpretations of his development that lean too heavily on the ‘literal demon voices in his head’ and ‘actual conversing with ghosts/spirits’ interpretations, though they’re perfectly valid ones given what canon portrays. I much prefer an interpretation where a lot of Gaara’s symptoms--and they are symptoms!--are actually things that are going on with him emotionally and internally rather than being literal magic events that are happening. For example, I like to think his discomfort with the full moon has a lot more to do with negative emotions associated with the memory of Yashamaru’s betrayal than a literal issue with Shukaku thirsting for blood.
Anyway, I’ve rambled on forever, but if you have other questions please feel free to pop back up! And I hope you’ll link me to your story when it’s done--I’d love to read it!!
So This is Love
Ship: Snatcher/The Prince (AHIT) x SI/OC
Word Count: about 3,160 ish words, and not beta read (unless sending this to your friend at 3am to read it over is beta reading ksbdjd)
Ok, so this is majorly self indulgent, because I low-key really like masquerade balls and grand costumes and stuff, but I can't write imagery for JACK and the song "So This is Love" basically came into my heart and smashed my knees with the image of me and Snatcher dancing to this elbdj
Also! The Prince doesn't really have a name, so i just named him Luka lol
(I haven't posted anything og my self-insert, but they go by Bee and they/them pronouns, and they work as the king's mail carrier and post man. They and Luka have been close friends since childhood, and that's why they get away with so much stuff together lol)
Anyway, I need to stop rambling, I hope you like it!!! I know I do-- The actual fic is under the read more!
 ... <3
   Acorn sighed, as they fiddled at their clothes. Even though they are a mail carrier, they are a royal mail carrier and got the privilege to be invited to a masquerade ball the kingdom is holding. The heir of the kingdom – Prince Luka – practically begged for Acorn to be there, seeing as they were a close friend of his. Luka even had a tailor of his make a set of clothes for the occasion. When he gave Acorn their set of clothes (on a mail run, no less,) they almost burst into tears. Even though Acorn was a friend of the Prince's, and technically worked for the King and his Court, they were still pretty surprised that the King allowed them to join. Acorn sharply shook their head to try and stop thinking about what happened before the party, thoughts lingering on the clothes and the handsome Prince instead.
     Thankfully, Luka made the clothing he gave them lighter than what most ball dancers would wear, as well as not having many intricate ruffles or details sewn on, unlike the richer party-goers of the ball. Ladies' dresses were puffy and frilly, with hand-stitched flowers and lace put onto the dress and bodice, waists thin and masks ranging from a simple face covering with pearls and feathers to a full-on mask with lace and colorful markings with animal representatives. Men's suits were… less fun to look at, but still brought attention to them, with brighter colors and designs in the suit rather than the tones than most were used to seeing, along with their ruffles more prominent. Their masks were similar to the ladies, with most being simple masks and the most extreme one Acorn has ever seen being a peacock themed set of clothes.
       Luka, who's family was hosting the ball, had a moderately complex suit. His was centered around a mouse, trying to mimic Acorn's rabbit mask and the suit he commissioned for them. His pale white and more natural fur-like colors of his suit and extra details contrasted his normal clothing style, which used more purple and red tones, showing his stature in the kingdom. His overcoat had slightly padded shoulders to emulate his everyday wear, and his vest to protect his shirt slightly covered the silly cravat that Acorn loves to torture him about. He didn't wear his boots, as he was forced to wear his uncomfortable dress shoes. Luka's mask was ornately decorated, with a small crown of pearls shaped vaguely of a lute sat on the forehead, and silver adorned the cheeks and temples of his mask. Acorn's mask and suit were nowhere as near to the simple extravagance of the kingdom's prince, but they were still proud to wear it, albeit, slightly embarrassed. Their mask was of a simple white rabbit, it's ears extending from the area just above the temples. Despite being very simple in shape, there were swirls of silver, and around the eyes and the edges of the ears, there was gold paint. Their mask also had a very little rabbit nose, similarly decorated to the rest of the mask. Their suit had no overcoat and had a more brown set of tones rather than the pure white of Luka's. Acorn was able to wear their boots, as it did match his suit, and they were sure if Luka was there to see that, he would probably give them a look that would kill.
        Speaking of which, Luka was greeting the party-goers, occasionally leaning down to kiss a lady's hand as her group of friends giggled at the small gesture. When he looked up from greeting a different woman who was surrounded by her escorts and saw Acorn, they could tell his night was made. Even though they could see his mouth, he was still in front of a small group, and couldn't show his excitement fully. Luka's eyes lit up, his hazel eyes catching the candlelight to make them a more pale yellow than normal, a happy glint in his eyes. Before he could excuse himself from the group to say hello to his friend, Luka was thrust into a conversation about courting, with the young woman – her name, what was her name… Vanessa? Was that it? – and him being the topic of conversation. Acorn saw Luka stiffen slightly when he turned around to an older gentleman gently touching his arm, and realized that they would probably both be here for a while.
. . . <3
      Luka crept behind Acorn, trying to be discreet about getting to the food table. Well, as discreet as he could be, being the kingdom's one and only heir to the throne, while people are trying to make him do political moves, like marrying their daughter that probably only wants to get in his pants or leave. He jabbed at his friend's sides, making them jolt and whirl around, glass slightly raised in case they needed to resort to violence. "Oh, you–!"  Luka chuckled and struggled not to laugh louder than was socially acceptable as Acorn realized it was him and gently smacked the back of their hand on his shoulder. "I almost splashed my champagne all over your suit, You're High–" Acorn was cut off before they could continue.
      Luka shook his head and put a finger over his lips. "Don't call me that, please. I just got out of a conversation with a neighboring kingdom's duke. I'm sure their daughter is nice and all, but God, I just want to have some food and spend time with you before I'm forced to go dance with the people here." Acorn quirked an eyebrow at that. The Prince? Wanting to spend time with the mail carrier? During a ball to find a suitable lover? Not out of the blue, but certainly not expected. Before Acorn could ask the thoughts running through their head, Luka quickly responded. "We haven't had any time to speak at all lately. I mean, I've been looking for a good school to look into law practice and you've been constantly working all the time with deliveries that my father is making you do. The whole reason why I invited you to this is so I could talk to you, not talk to the political figures," Luka bitterly spat out as he grabbed a small plate and put some sweets on it.  "… Is that so wrong?" He stayed silent for a moment after saying that, previous actions slowing and calming slightly.
      Acorn shook their head. "Of course not! It's alright to want to talk to someone who hasn't spoken to in a while. But," They lowered their voice slightly and moved closer to Luka, who in turn subconsciously moved towards them. "Why here? Where you are trying to find a suitable lover?" They turned their head slightly to get a look at Luka and oh stars, when did he get this close. His shoulder-length hair had a small ponytail in the back, tying off some, but leaving the rest down to frame what little of his face people could see. He smelled like vanilla and lavender, and Acorn couldn't get enough of it. They were thankful for the mask for once, hoping that the other couldn’t see their face flush scarlet as they realized what they were thinking.
     Acorn looked away, probably a bit too quickly, and looked around at the scene around them as Luka sighed. “Well, you know how it is. I was kinda forced to come here. Royal duties to,” he switched to a deeper voice and cocked his head a little higher, “keep the royal bloodline alive and all that wonderful business.” He shook his head and started to walk away from the table with his plate piled high. “You don’t have to talk to me if you don’t wish to, but I would like you too.” Acorn looked at Luka and smiled, while they both walked off together. Luka side-eyed them and lifted his mask slightly to eat easier. They smiled at one another after a moment, and after Luka gently slapped Acorn's hand for trying to steal a chocolate truffle, they walked onto a balcony to (hopefully) get some better privacy to talk with one another.
. . . <3
     The two slightly moved their masks away from their faces, finally being able to breathe more comfortably and show their faces while in their own company. Acorn walked closer to the balcony and looked up at the sky, while Luka slowly picked at the desserts on his plate. “It’s beautiful.” Luka looked up, and swore his heart stopped at the sight ahead of him. Acorn was leaning over the balcony’s intricate stone banister, one leg tucked behind the other. Their tight bun was slightly undone, hair messy, but oh so… Elegant, is that the word? Even in the dim light of the moon shining down on them in their suit, and the band still heard playing, Luka could just stare. This moment felt too intimate. Even… even for just friends, silently pining. Acorn turned slightly, to look back at the other. “Don’t you think so?” Luka stuttered as he let out a held breath – since when did he stop breathing? He flubbed an agreement that seemed to satisfy Acorn, because they turned around and kept looking at the stars and constellations. Luka unknowingly kept admiring them, smiling to himself. He finished his dish and set it next to him as he got up to look at the stars next to Acorn. They stood there for a few minutes, pointing out constellations and enjoying each other’s company for a bit.
     Luka looked over at Acorn, and his heart flipped. Oh how he wished he could just kiss them –
     … Wait.
     Oh. Oh.
     Oh no.
     He flushed red at the thought that he couldn’t quickly shoot down as he wanted to. He? And Acorn? His childhood best friend, who helped him through everything, even though they were the child of a mail carrier? He wanted to laugh, but the thought had crossed his mind too much as of late for his to even think about drawing an awkward chuckle from himself. They were just so… so perfect for him not to fantasize about what a relationship with them would be like. It would be a scandal for sure, but would anyone really mind? He saw the was his parents looked knowingly at him when he laughed a little too hard at one of Acorn insufferable puns and jokes. Even when the topic of this ball was brought up by an advisor, the King told him that it was really just a formality to “keep the bloodline alive”, and nothing more. Luka realized that he was probably staring, and cleared his throat slightly, looking back at the stars above. Then one of the band members – violin presumably – started a familiar refrain, as the other instruments slowly joined in.
     Luka looked at Acorn, as they looked back at him. “You should probably… go grace somebody with you amazing dancing skills Luka.” They looked at the slightly ajar door they left open when they came out on the balcony. “I mean, some lucky lady is probably wanting to dace with you. Perhaps the one you were talking to for hours on end, hmm?” Though their voice had a teasing tone, Luka could tell that they didn’t want him to leave. Not yet.
     Luka pretended to think it over, and grabbed their hand to pull them closer to him. “No, I don’t think I’ll leave just yet.” He chuckled, and dramatically leaned down to kiss Acorn's hand as they sputtered. “Care to join me for a dance, my dear?” Even in the dim lighting, Luka could tell that Acorn's face was probably scarlet at this point. Their mouth opened and closed for a moment, trying to find words without sounding like a fool, but eventually they just nodded their head. Luka smiled gently. “You don’t have to. I won’t mind if you refuse Acorn.” They stood their ground and shook their head, saying that they did want to dance. So, they got ready to waltz in time with the music.
     Luka put his hand on Acorn's shoulder while Acorn put theirs on his waist. They clasped each other’s hand, and started swaying gently with the music. It was surprisingly more springy than they both remembered, but the pair started dancing slightly. They turned and swayed as the music continued, and slowed when the band quieted to let the singers… well, sing.
So, this is love
Mmm~
Luka hummed the words slightly as the pair subconsciously moved closer to one another. Acorn looked up at Luka slightly, eyebrow raised. Luka scoffed slightly. “We both know that we’ve been raised on this song, don’t give me that look.” Luka gently nudged the other, and Acorn chuckled.
So this, is love…
So this is what makes life, divine
Closer and closer still, the pair moved in tandem with one another, circling like two moons orbiting a forgotten planet. They swayed, with Luka gradually whispering the lyrics, enjoying himself. They both looked borderline ethereal to the other, both of them unbelieving of the sight they had.
“I’m all aglow, mmm
And now I know,”
“And now I know…” Acorn sang slightly, looking at Luka while he sang the verse before. They both seemed surprised that Acorn did that, but Luka recovered and muttered that they had a nice voice. Acorn flushed, and buried their face into Luka’s jacket, stuttering.
“The key to all heaven is mine…”
They harmonized with themselves and the singers inside the castle. They had stopped dancing altogether at this point, and had just started embracing each other instead. Acorn's head was on Luka’s shoulder, and Luka was staring ahead, head tilted slightly to clay. The pair still swayed gently, but it wasn’t to start dancing.
My heart has wings, mmm
And I can fly
I’ll touch every star in the sky…
Luka looked down to Acorn, and saw the peaceful expression they held. ‘They are right there,’ he heard himself scold. ‘Just kiss them, get it over with.’
So this is the miracle
That I’ve been dreaming of…
Mmm
They now faced one another and started slowly leaning together, their faces almost touching. Luka’s eyes fluttered closed as Acorn's glanced down at his lips.
Mmm
So this…
Is love.
     The singer’s duet ended, and their lips finally connected. It felt like fireworks and explosions were going off, sparks dancing on their lips. As the two gripped each other tighter, they didn’t hear the pair of feet making their way towards them. “Your highness, you are–” The guard cut herself off as she realized what she had walked into unknowingly. The two parted quickly once her voice was heard, and Acorn tried to shuffle away from Luka slightly to try and at least pretend that they totally weren’t kissing, what? “I, I’m sorry your highness, I can come back–”
     Luka shook his head, but never let go of Acorn. “No, no. What is it?” He inquired and put most of his attention to the distraction at hand, slightly disappointed. Acorn looked down at the ground, away from the guard, suddenly taking interest in a few pebbles on the surrounding stone.
     The guard re-positioned herself. “The King wanted to see you sire, but I will just let him know that you are… Busy doing other things. I, uh. Hope I didn’t interrupt anything too maj– you know what? I’m just gonna…” The guard awkwardly walked off, shifting in her armor slightly, embarrassed that she walked in on the prince and the mail carrier having a moment together.
... "Wait, the mail carrier??"
     Luka waited for a moment after she left, making sure the gentle clinks of her armor had faded completely. The pair stayed silent for a moment, before Acorn tried to shift away again. Luka pulled them to where they were originally in his arms and smiled mischievously. “Where do you think your going, lover?” He teased, laughing slightly as Acorn pretended to fight back. He grin became wider as he realized that Acorn had blushed darker. “Oh, did you like that dearest? Calling you ‘lover’?” Luka cooed at them, as Acorn gently swatted at him. “Just come here, sweetheart,” and with that last teasing pet name, he brought them into another kiss, less tentatively. He could feel Acorn smile as they let out a silent sigh and melt against him, knees weak. Luka pulled away slightly, and as Acorn's head followed the movement slightly, he whispered, “Don’t you think we should take this somewhere a little more private after the guard, you know…?” Acorn's knees fully gave out, and Luka hurriedly clung onto them as he felt how hot they were. He fussed over them for a second, hoping that they didn’t fully pass out.
     They both chuckled for a moment after Acorn quickly recovered, and Acorn muttered something along the lines of “Kissing is just fine for now, anything more and I think I’ll die.” The two couldn’t contain their loud laughter at this remark, Luka’s laughter carrying on over Acorn's. He leaned over and gently pecked their cheek, saying how they didn’t want anyone to see them kissing again, and that he was sorry that he insinuated something more than kissing. Acorn pecked him back on his lips, and accepted the apology.
💛
(Little bonus scene! I didn’t really wanna write this out fully, but I kinda wanted to add what one of their fist meetings could be sknf -- enjoy!!)
Looking back on it, the Snatcher could hardly believe that he was so in… actual infatuation and love with a childhood friend that he could hardly believe that he could marry Vanessa. She was of course, fine at the start, but the lingering feelings for the pair never truly left their hearts. He shook his head, looking back down at his book, waiting for that kid – Hat Kid was it? Or was it Bow? – when a knock sounded on the tree bark. Snatcher sighed. “What do you want, ki–”
His sentence was abruptly cut off as he saw an all too familiar face in the entry way with Hat Kid behind them. “Hello your highness. Been a few years, hasn’t it?” Snatcher almost dropped his book as his jaw hung slightly. Acorn, in the flesh. Right there. Their clothes were much more casual to fit the modern times, and they carried a mail bag on their shoulder, with a mail carrier's cap in one of their hands.
Snatcher blinked a few times. “Yeah… 10, at least, huh sweetheart?” Acorn laughed loudly, and ran towards him. They embraced again, and finally after 200 years of waiting, wondering if the other was alive or not, Acorn peppered Snatcher’s face with kisses. There certainly wasn’t going to be any complaining about this for a while to say the least. Even from a ghost who always said he had a reputation to uphold.
(the-littlest-bom) ❤️ and 💝 !!!
Gonna match you and go with some hcs for the OG RP
❤️ for 4 romantic headcanons of our muse’s relationship
   Shiro has handmade Keith a valentines, birthday, and best friend’s day card every year for the last eight years, each one with a note about what he likes about Keith and/or how happy he is that they are friends. Usually he puts it in Keith’s locker. Keith thought Shiro might stop doing the best friend’s day one when they started dating, but when he went to leave his apartment there was a stuffed hippo and a card that said, ‘You’re my boyfriend and my best friend. I couldn’t ask for more.”
   Shiro had to ask Keith out three times before he actually made it clear that what he wanted was a date, not just to hang out. The first time was a stuttered request to go to a movie, Keith was confused at why Shiro was so nervous. But when they got to the movie it was a romcom and he guessed that it was probably because it was obvious the movie was going to have a ‘sex scene’ and he knew how Shiro was with that topic. The second time was dinner, Shiro dressed up but then when he saw Keith coming up the driveway he saw he was dressed casually and quickly ran to his room to change. They ended up just going out for burgers, which as fun, but Shiro was determined after that. The third time was when they were walking home from school and Shiro stopped them (they were holding hands because friends do that to okay) and asked Keith point blank if he would like to be go out on a date sometime. Keith said yes (obviously) and suggested ‘how about right now.’
   Keith kissed Shiro first. The moment just felt right and lately he’d been looking back and was wondering how many times Shiro had meant to ask him about but didn’t. He didn’t want to wait that long so he kissed him quick and gentle, barely brushing lips. When Shiro stood there shocked, he nearly apologized before Shiro kissed him back a little too roughly, but in Keith’s (and Shiro’s) mind it was perfect.
   Keith still has all of the voicemails that Shiro has left him, when they were having trouble he’d fall asleep listening to them because despite his aching heart, Shiro’s voice still managed to calm him down. Shiro does something similar, but instead of voicemails, he has all of their texts still in his inbox and sometimes he scrolls to random parts of the conversation to read through and remember things they’ve said to each other and talked about together.
💝 for 4 nsfw headcanons of our muse’s relationship
   After there first time, Shiro is more impulsive when it comes to sex. He initiates it 65% of the time, though Keith usually isn’t far behind in planning on suggesting it. Its probably from denying himself the privilege for so long, but neither of them really minds since they love being together in all forms.
   Shiro does call Keith finally. It happens when he’s stressed at school and the gym is closed for the night. He calls up Keith at like 4 AM his time 5 AM Keith’s. He reassures him that it’s not an emergency he just really needed to hear Keith’s voice. He sleeps in boxers, but they were already kicked off by the time the phone was ringing. He comes with two fingers knuckle deep to Keith saying, “Just one more week, sugar.”
   Shiro thinks Keith’s dick is pretty. He’d honestly frame a photo of it except Sofu would definitely not approve but also he doesn’t want anyone else getting that view. Logically, he knows it’s not smart to call someone’s dick cute, but he thinks Keith’s is. He likes that it’s smaller than his own, in the same way that Keith is smaller than him, it just seems right. He likes that it curves a little to the left (feels like it’s another way Keith is trying to be closer to him, since Keith naturally gravitates to standing to his right). He likes the pink flush to it. And when he gives Keith a blowjob for the first time there is quite a bit more kissing and complimenting than necessary.
   One day (when Shiro and Keith have been married for years and years) Keith will accidentally grab the wrong cart at the store. It’s an honest mistake, both baskets have cheerios, milk, and some miscellaneous vegetables. Shiro notices and Keith tries to play it off like ‘oh no this is definitely ours’ because he’s feeling a little feisty. But Shiro points to a box inside and says ‘Never in my life have I bought condoms.’
Fire Emblem Echoes Thoughts
I just finished Echoes, and time to write up some thoughts
I really enjoyed Echoes, the overall experience was a lot more enjoyable than my playthrough of Fates. Admittedly I never ended up finishing Fates, but I think that speaks to how much I enjoyed Echoes.
Considering this is going to be a long one, I’m going to be nice and throw it under the cut
One of the things that stopped my from finishing Fates was the fact that my shoulder buttons on my 3DS don’t work, so soft resetting my 3DS was a challenge. I also played Fates, and Awakening, on hard mode, which was probably a mistake. So Mila’s turnwheel has been a godsend. The magic Ctrl+Z of the gods has done wonders for the enjoyability of Echoes. Naga’s Mistake Eraser turns a slightly misplaced unit, OR THOSE DAMNED WITCHES, a minor inconvenience instead of an entire mission restart.
The voice acting and the pre-Awakening Supports have also been a breath of fresh air. Clive and Mathilda’s supports being some of my favorite to listen to. Mae and Boey also had some fun banter and seeing their relationship develop over the course of the game, even in side conversations inside of dungeons/towns was really enjoyable. I really hope that Fire Emblem Switch is closer to Echoes than Awakening when it comes to its supports. Awakening has some nice supports, but everything, with the opposite gender, needed to potentially end in marriage, which kinda limited how things were written. Admittedly there were some weird lack of supports for some characters. like Alm not having supports with any of his friends, and Mycen not having a support with Celica. I get that it would mean that you’d only get the support in the post-game, but there’s nothing wrong with that.
I wasn’t a fan of the single item inventory system. Having only one weapon is fine, but the fact that healing items, support items, and the random cosmetic items were also bound to that inventory spot was dumb. As there were like 3 cosmetic items I found that I couldn’t even use because I should just give them a healing ring or a shield. I’m fine with weapon degradation leaving fire emblem like in Fates, I have no strong feelings one way or another.
Weapon Arts were cool, it provided some nice specialization in a game with like 5 classes total. My issue is with how long it takes to unlock new weapon arts, and I’m sad that I didn’t find out about the Warding Arrow art from the silver bow until after I had to deal with the multiple medusa wielding enemies. That would’ve made my life a lot easier. I liked the unique skills from Fates, and some of the character building from Awakening/Fates with the class skills. Even if it did kidna turn into a spreadsheet of who to turn into what when.
Speaking of classes. The tiny number of classes keeps things simple, but is very much something that is a relic of Echoes being a remake of FE2. The lack of the thief class makes me sad. I hope to see the full gambit of colorful classes in Fire Emblem Switch.
The bosses were stupid. Medusa is a stupid spell, that while hard countered by silence/Ward arrows... you don’t know those exist until you’ve already had to do some dark magic shenanigans to teleport Alm across the map to stab a witch in the face so hard she died yesterday. Side note, the witches themselves were dumb. In a game like fire emblem, enemies that teleport across the map and deal magic damage to literally any unit is so dumb. I only lost a unit to that once, and it was either Valbar or Clive... BECAUSE BY THE END OF THE GAME CLIVE HAD 1 FREAKING RES. Thank god for Grima’s failure De-happener. Jeddah’s gimick is dumb, mostly due to the lack of resistance on my units because I didn’t have any dread fighters to completely ignore the damage by the high priest of Duma. Duma himself wasn’t that bad... mainly because Alm is busted and having a godslaying sword makes killing a god pretty easy.
I was a bit bitter about the lack of living dragons in the game. You fight an entire fallen dragon civilization’s worth of necrodragons throughout the game, but when you end up fighting some ghost dragons... they were ghost necrodragons. Which was really disappointing. Why have a ghost zombie dragon? Why not just make a ghost dragon? So naturally I was elated in the post-game when a trio of water dragons known as Dagons appeared on my ship and promptly kicked my ass. Once I decided to bring Nino Delthea on board to OHKO a dragon in the face the dragons were less of a threat, but I’m amused that Alm’s godkilling sword that he used to kill a dragon god not 2 hours prior isn’t effective against OH dragons. I should note that after killing the 3 water dragons, the living version of the necrodragons appeard and promptly got wiped out because they still counted as undead/terrors so Alm murdered them in like 1 turn. I was also pleased to find an OG fire dragon in the post-game dungeon that I didn’t manage to kill because Alm got OTK’d in an optional fight with some entombed.  RIP Alm
Character wise, Delthea was one of my favorites. Not only because she was my strongest unit by far, having the highest attack, luck, and speed out of my entire army, but because she was so dang fun to listen to. Her god-complex was fun, and her victory/level up quotes are just full of confidence. My favorite memory of her involved her killing a necrodragon in one hit, and then saying “Who do you bow to now” or something similar. Which is the equivilent of a small child killing a demi-god and saying “who’s your god now” with no sense of irony. She flat out believes that she’s perfect and the goddess’s favorite, and it’s just charming. Similarly the battle couple dynamic of Clive and  Mathilda is just so cute. Their supports were literally them expressing their love and how they’d slay a thousand men to express their love. I love it, it’s cute, and the voice acting is great.
My biggest issue has to do with the end of act 4. For reference, an embarrassingly large number of Celica’s army were on their teir 2 classes, and even tier 1 for a certain Atlas. I was waiting until the final act to get everybody up to their prime and be ready to fight off against the evil god Duma. Except there was one thing that got in my way. The fact that the end of act 4 takes control away from celica’s army and makes you use Alm’s army until the final battle where you suddenly get the whole army again. I expected to have more time to develop Celica’s army, so my final battle was supposed to be both armies reunited fighting together, but instead I had a fully armed and powerful Alm’s crew, and a handful of units from celica’s path who are better suited to killing brigands than gods.
The animations were pretty cool, but it is pretty much a undisputed fact that Fire Emblem animations peaked in the GBA games. That is one of the things I’m most excited to see in Fire Emblem Switch. Seeing Fire Emblem animations on a home console where they can go all out with animations instead of being limited on the 3DS makes me unbelievably excited for the next fire emblem. Sidenote: If Fire Emblem Warriors doesn’t re-create GBA Crit animations in epic 3D for people’s special attacks it will all be for naught.
Echoes is probably my last 3DS game. I’m pretty sure it is the last 3DS fire emblem game, and my 3DS has the aforementioned shoulder button issues that are a nuisance in fire emblem, but literally game breaking in other games. I’m really glad that my last 3DS game was so enjoyable.  Echoes has it’s faults, but it is enjoyable and mIla’s turnwheel makes fire emblem as a handheld game without that required downtime every time you get crit and die randomly. Thank you Fire Emblem Echoes. Thank you very much. I hate that I missed 2 90% hits in a row and then got hit by 1 30%, but thank you for everything but that.... and the witches. They are just actually bad game design.
