Found some thread that sparked joy in th darkest corner of the yarn store today. So now I can make some green and peach patches too. And that green is a pretty perfect shade for lichen.

allo~ newbie question for ya, if u don't mind: on your amatonormativity project with all those fishies, how do you get them so thicc? Is the core a different material, a base, or did you really wrap a pound of thread on each side of the canvas?

No problem, always happy to answer questions! And thank you! Those thicc fishies are made by first filling the outline with bullion stitch, then satin stitching over that.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what size hook and what yarn weight do you use for your mushrooms?

Hi! Thanks for the question. Yarn isn't generally classed by weight here, so can't really answer to that. But most of the yarn I use for my mushrooms is mercerized cotton crochet yarn. My favorite hook is an old one without size indication lol, but compared with other hooks I'd say it's 1.25mm.

Just had the weirdest convo ever over on Facebook. Occasionally people message me and ask whether this or that artwork is available to buy. By rote I usually reply something like "thank you for your interest but it's not for sale". Did so this time too.

But this time the person followed up with an "okay" and then questions about where I am located and if I ship. To which I answered that well, for now I don't sell at all so I haven't looked into shipping.

In answer to this the person gave me an adress and asked what the item in question plus shipping would cost. I chose to answer as plainly as possible. "I do not sell."

The answer: "Okay. Do you have Paypal??"

After that I noped out of the conversation, but yeah... Was this meme just put into practice??

For now I don't sell my work, and I doubt I'll ever start creating with selling in mind. I've tried to do commissions for friends/family but it just never works out, my creativity fizzles and I don't have the self-discipline to force it. I need complete freedom for my creativity to work, and even then it's really fickle.

Selling patterns would be an option I guess, but I've never used any patterns so don't really have any idea how to make them.

In any case I'm not really in a hurry to monetize.

From the archives. A memory from the 2020 toilet paper shortage. And my first real embroidery project. Because who doesn't need a sweary floral wreath for the toilet. Wasn't happy with the empty toilet paper roll in the end, so frogged it and turned the whole thing into floral wreath. But it's a fun memory.

Side note: you can definitely tell which was the first flower I did, which was the second and which was the third. Satin stitch learning process...
