I’ve been having 3D embroidery come up here and on Pinterest and I jumped headfirst in. I have one wing almost done after two seasons of Shadows House and two parts of a Baldur’s Gate play through.
I’m planning on getting gold and silver thread to outline the patterns
Ignore the moon, I used the fabric to test something else first

started out as just wire-shaped wings stitched on felt to a full fledged 3D hand embroidered Monarch Butterfly ✨🪡✨
this piece is one-of-a-kind and currently available for sale in my shop; sold as a pair with an embroidered Monarch Chrysalis simply because a butterfly would never exist without time spent inside a cocoon 🐛🦋🧡

When I completed this moth embroidery I was so happy cause it took me forever. I don’t think I’d ever make a whole load more of them but they are really pretty :’)
(It’s only pretty from above, it’s a mess underneath with trying to hide the backing threads and loose fabrics lmao)
