It's true. We all have secrets. Unfortunately, I just don't remember mine.
I have a new protag, Badri the Starstorm! :D I thought it was time to introduce someone else for the role of "Wayfinder" since I see Penelope being forever the champion/commander - the switch happens probably when the title comes up.
Badri is actually part of the Ward, but she spends as little time as possible in the tower. Being of unknown & incredible divine origin, Badri could learn any magic - including Seer magic. She became Isgarren's apprentice in case there was ever a need for a person to keep the ascension going even if he wasn't around. Badri doesn't have her memories prior to being found by the Ward in the Mists and it has been 500 years since then. She is not of any Tyrian species, the only thing she knows is that she has divine qualities akin to gods, yet, muted in many ways. Naturally immortal and strangely attuned to all magic - even corrupted one.
She has overseen ascension many times before, but does not anymore. One went horribly wrong, and it was her breaking point. She stepped away from the Ward, both from regret and from the many times she warned the wizards about the possibility of this happening and not being heard; knowing the concept and sacrifice was too much. Isgarren was pretty harsh on her, expelling her from the Ward's ranks even if she is still allowed inside the tower - and that is why she earns the title of Wayfinder by proving herself once again. But now - on her own terms. And of course Peitha is her new girlfriend.
And that's all I have for now! :)

You know what I'm in an Eraqus mood so
Ever notice how often he's the butt of everyone's jokes? Like, intentionally. He does things in his own time so everyone makes fun of his tendency to be late. He's the jokester so he actively encourages his friends to tease him about his lack of interest in school. And he brushes it off, as a class clown does.
But he cares.
He cares about his friends so deeply.
He cares about their safety, their wellbeing, their emotional state. When one of them could be in danger (see: Vor going off with Vidar), he wants to do something, anything to ensure they're okay. He jokes because he wants to keep everyone's spirits up. He constantly checks up on them, especially Xehanort, and especially after Baldr's murder spree.
Then he extends this deep and obsessive care, now mixed with an unhealthy amount of paranoia fueled by the need to keep those he loves safe, to the Wayfinder Trio. He happily accepts Ven into the fold when Xehanort says he can't train him anymore, even with his plate full with two other apprentices already AND Ven possibly being the Child of Destiny.
There's this sense I get of him wanting to keep his connection to his friend, even as they've drifted apart and fought because of their differing viewpoints on the world. "Life has taught us far different lessons."
Eraqus wants to remain true to light, and as light symbolizes connections in this series, this mainfests as him wanting to keep ties with Xehanort, his best friend, the one person who survived a traumatic event with him. However, as Xehanort puts it, Eraqus has been blinded by the light and forgotten about the shadows it casts. In "staying true to light", wanting to keep those connections, he's thrown himself into caring for the Wayfinders and is almost possessive of them, wanting to keep them in the Land of Departure for protection from the world, going so far as to try to kill Ven for leaving without permission*. The term "helicopter parent" comes to mind (albeit a lot more intense).
His desire to keep the world out comes from his trauma. He'd seen the wider World, and look where that got him. Dead friends, the only remaining one going down the path of darkness, and no support in training and raising his apprentices.
Feel free to add your own thoughts, I wanna hear them! This is not a complete analysis by any means, and it's sort of disorganized, but I hope this gives you some perspective and appreciation for Eraqus's character.
*I’ve since been reminded that he tries to kill Ven because of the χ-blade thing

Endless possibilities for Kairi
Nomura once said the keyblade Riku gives to Kairi and where he gets it will be answered in a future installment.
As he does when he doesn't want to answer something because it will be no point in ever showing it if he just tells people.
He did it when people asked about Demyx's backstory and where he came from. He didn't say anything and he most likely will be in Missing Link and probably 4?
Tumblr media
But so much about Kairi is a mystery and at first I thought oh they're not going to do much with her, I don't think in KH4 we'll see much but then I was looking at MOM scenes and KH2 the games where people genuinely think she shines the most.
(personally her in mom doesn't do it for me because she ends up using Sora's form)
Mom is just giving people bread crumbs and it's kinda overpraised. Like you control her for a bit until Sora takes over and then you eventually control Riku. I'll admit the backstory parts were nice. It helped confirm more about the Ansem reports. But it's not really much.
Tumblr media
Her entire backstory is so mysterious.
She— a child of Radiant Garden who happens to be one of the princesses with a pure heart was seen by Xehanort and studied on through experiments until she was sent to Destiny Islands through one of the time capsules used in Union x.
Because of Xehanort and the others apprentices were doing unsupervised experiments (not sure if this was before or after they became nobodies), sending her there caused the meteor shower— the same one that happens on destiny islands where Riku makes a promise to Sora to protect him and probably have his signature necklace to him. (Though this is necklace theory it is implied this happens through various scenes in KH and the novels, and manga)
Through this revelation, they can discover and discuss where she came from and how she got to Destiny Islands, by discovering the time capsules they can figure out Union X events. The Wayfinder Trio + Kairi can figure out this information together.
Tumblr media
Why the Wayfinders? Because Ven was from the era and it could help get his memories back. Kairi is also going to be training with Aqua after MOM.
But by looking into that stuff they can find out more about her and then come across what happened to experiment X and if she really is Skuld or not (a lot of people think she is Skuld).
And Lea/Axel and Isa/Saïx come in for that part.
Tumblr media
But she has so much potential. Like KH is obviously about Sora and Riku's friendship and I think the reason why we seen so little of her is probably because Nomura might just be waiting for a good moment or game to put some backstory for Kairi.
We only got crumbs through the reports, a dialogue here and there, and then the scene in mom. And maybe just maybe we'll get an installment that tells us something extraordinary as KH does.
This is like the fourth analysis post I've done about her. She can be so interesting and so much potential and I'm thinking about another one relating to her. It's involving how the English version of KH makes her worse of a character... You'll see why soon
Post note: before anyone mentions kh3 I discussed in previous posts I didn't like her in that one because she was just training a lot and not really doing much. Then during the battle she eventually dies, well that's the shortened version

Like Master like Students
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And even though Sora isn't a student of anyone in the Wayfinder Trio (though Aqua did think of making him an apprentice for a second when he was four, of course), Sora is continuing to adapt what he learns from other warriors into his own fighting style and can be seen using the keychain of his Keyblade to fight in the KHIV trailer (though part of me wonders if that could also be a hint at web slinging and a Spider-Man world, but take that with a huge grain of salt).
Tumblr media
But now that Kairi is going to be trained by Aqua, I wonder if we'll see her using chain magic, or whatever, too. I sure hope so.

For the ask game: How about a fic where Brain gets to meet an older, BBS-era Eraqus (with potential cameos from the Wayfinders, haha)?
~
“Master.”
Eraqus found Master Odin on the tower’s balcony. The other islands could be seen in the distance; each one connected by cables that vanished into a sea of billowing clouds.
The Keyblade Master turned to his student and watched as Eraqus bowed, his silence prompting him to continue.
“I’ve come to request permission to travel off-world,” he explained. “There’s something that’s been weighing on my mind. …I have to go back.”
“To which world?”
“Olympus Coliseum. Since I’ve been before, I—”
Odin held up his hand, and the long sleeve of his robe fluttered in the wind.
“…You will not find them.”
He spoke with the broken voice of that unrecognizable, glum old man Eraqus still wasn’t accustomed to hearing.
“But… I know it’s possible to talk to the others there,” he insisted, his own voice tinged with desperation. “That’s how Hoder was able to come back with us.”
“You were able to converse with Hoder because she still resided in the Final World.”
“The Final World?”
“Once a heart has left the Final World, they can no longer be reached. Certainly by now your friends have passed on.”
Eraqus felt his heart sink. It was as if everyone he’d lost had slipped out of reach once more.
“They can really never return?”
“It is said that spirits traverse through the dark corridors, but I am certain you understand why any attempts to find them there would be ill-advised…”
Eraqus thought back to the unbearable despair of the corridor they’d been trapped in. Even fully armored, he’d nearly died.
“No good will come from seeking out the departed. Focus instead on those who remain, as they have much more need of your help.”
Eraqus looked down remorsefully.
Right…
Xehanort is the one I should be looking out for.
“I will. …Thank you, Master.”
~
65 years later—
Terra waited outside the guest bedroom; a room that, up until today, they’d had no use for. He peered in through the doorframe to see the younger boy asleep on the bed, soft blankets pulled up over his chest and blond hair carefully brushed out of his face. Ventus seemed serene, at least, and Terra allowed some of his guilt to turn to relief. Master Eraqus closed the door and put a comforting hand on the shoulder of his student, guiding him away as they returned to the main hall.
“Is he hurt?”
“It seems he may be, but not by your doing,” Eraqus assured.
Terra sighed, then explained earnestly. “I didn’t mean to scare him. I just wanted to know who he was. And… who was that man that brought him here?”
Eraqus paused before answering. “That was Master Xehanort. We trained together, long ago. Ventus was his apprentice, but from today on he will stay with us.”
Terra took a moment to absorb the new information, a trace of concern in his dark blue eyes. “But…Why doesn’t he remember anything?”
“I do not know.” Eraqus stopped walking to emphasize his next words. “But…When the boy wakes, do not press him any further. We must act as though he has always lived with us.”
“You mean… We have to lie to him?”
“It’s for his own safety,” he replied, then instructed, “Go, and inform Aqua as well.”
Terra frowned, but nodded nonetheless. “All right.”
~
How much of what Xehanort had said could be trusted?
A special boy…  ‘The Child of Destiny…’
It was exactly the sort of thing he would claim, if only to convince Eraqus to take the child in. After all, how could a guardian of light turn away the supposed savior of the World?
But no, he didn’t believe it. Rather, it was caution that had pushed him to agree. Or perhaps sympathy, for the boy caught up in Xehanort’s schemes.
Whatever Xehanort’s true interest in Ventus had been, it was better left in the past; forgotten.
Eraqus carried a glass of water to Ventus’ room. It seemed the least he could offer him, for the time being.
A stillness had fallen over the Land of Departure, even the usual chirp of crickets was absent tonight. Almost as though the world somehow knew an outsider had arrived, hushing itself, as not to disturb him.
Eraqus pushed the door open—and was immediately caught off guard.
A man sat in the chair at the side of Ventus’ bed.
“Who are you?” Eraqus demanded.
The man didn’t shift his gaze, replying without revealing his face.
“An old friend said I’d find him here. …They saw him, passing through.”
Eraqus resisted the urge to summon his Keyblade. “Then… You know Ventus?”
He nodded. “I know Ven. Not that he’d recognize me… I thought you might, at least.”
“What are you saying..?”
The stranger turned slowly, resting his arm on the back of the chair.
“Impossible!”
A small smile appeared on Blaine’s face when he looked at his grandson, but it soon turned solemn again.
“I guess everyone gets scarred, eventually…”
He looked back at Ventus. “Sometimes too soon.”
Eraqus felt at a loss for words, but managed to ask: “Why are you here?”
“Just to say goodbye. And I’ve already overstayed my welcome.”
“Wait! Who is he? Is he really..?”
Blaine raised an eyebrow.
“Xehanort; he claimed that Ventus was the Child of Destiny.”
“He said that? Interesting…”
“Then, it’s true?”
“Maybe. Maybe not. But if anyone can save the World from Darkness… I figure it might as well be someone like Ven.”
He stood up, taking another look at the sleeping boy.
“Take care of him, all right?”
“I… Of course.”
Blaine disappeared, leaving only sparkling lights where he once stood.
Eraqus was frozen in shock for a moment, but eventually placed the glass of water on a small table and forced himself to leave the room, wondering whether the interaction had really occurred at all…
(Some light comes from the past.)

Last night, I had a dream about some sort of KH AU. In the AU, the Wayfinder Trio actually managed to defeat Xehanort at the Keyblade Graveyard, but Vanitas still fused with Ventus, leading Ventus to destroy the χ-blade and shatter his own heart. However, Vanitas somehow survived completely intact (the dream didn’t show how). He tracked Ventus’s heart down to Destiny Islands and found Sora there.
At first, Vanitas tried to rip Ventus’s heart out of Sora, but that didn’t work, so he decided to just take Sora back with him and figure something else out. Riku tried to protect Sora, but he wound up being taken along as well (I don’t remember why; probably because Terra had bequeathed to him).
And then, for a reason I still can’t remember, Vanitas kept both boys with him in the Keyblade Graveyard and trained them in the ways of the Keyblade and DARKNESS and stuff. So then, by the time things started moving again (don’t know what happened, since Xehanort was really and truly dead), Sora and Riku were part of the antagonistic force alongside Vanitas, and they had different Keyblades as well.
Weird dream, huh?
This sounds like it would be a cool fanfic idea, but I have no idea how it would work. Like, why would Vanitas suddenly decide to train Sora and Riku to be his Evil Minions™? How would the plots of the other games happen? What about the Heartless — would they still become such a big threat without Xehanort? What would happen with AtW’s apprentices? Also, how would Luxu respond to all of this? I doubt he and the MoM would just let their plans involving Xehanort go so easily…
So yeah, I don’t know how it would work, but I’ve come up with some ideas anyway. Might talk about this more later, idk

Day 1 ~ Introduction
Another start to @khoc-week and we begin with introductions! This year I will be focusing on Y! She’s an Oc near and dear that I haven’t focused on since the very first KH Oc week, though she’s been mentioned in others. Y begins her story in Birth By Sleep, where she is a Keyblade wielder training alongside the Wayfinder trio. Due to Xehanort’s plan though everything falls apart. And while the other three suffer their fates, Y is turned into a Heartless. For the time  between BBS and her return to the story she hides out in Castle Oblivion, keeping watch over Ventus. She comes into play once again during Days, where she finds new friends and her journey can begin again. Her main focus is usually helping out the heroes, while also trying to find her lost friends. But it all gets much crazier when she realizes she is a human incarnation of Light, a key piece in Xehanort’s game.
Tumblr media
Y has always been a challenging character for me, as I find her to be very much my opposite or at the very least incredibly different from me. She is a character who on her surface seems very happy and cheerful but harbors a lot of anger. I’m hoping to be able to explore more of that over this week.
Some additional information from her character sheet:
Name: Y
True Name: Y, Lucerna
Age: Looks 14, technically 24ish (As of KH1)
Gender: Demi-girl (She/they)
Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Pan
Nickname(s): Starshine (Given by Vanitas)
Alias(es): Light’s Keeper, Dark’s Keeper
Date of Birth: December 24
Astrological/Zodiac Sign: Capricorn
Species: Heartless
Blood Type: B
Affiliations/Organizations: Eraqus’s apprentices, Ansem the Wise apprentice’s, Guardians of Light
Occupation: Keyblade wielder
Favorites:
           Music, computers, plants, dandelions
Least Favorites:
Reading, studying, anything that requires little to no physical movement
Hobbies/Interests:            Computer programming
           Music
           Gardening
Phobias/Fears:            Being alone; Autophobia
           Spiders; Arachnophobia

KH OC Week Day 1 Part 2 - Introductions
Link to Part 1
Time for someone new! Since Hoder lives in this new timeline, it doesn’t make sense that she wouldn’t also have an apprentice when the number of keyblade wielders is already dangerously low. As the Fractured Trio are supposed to be a dark mirror for the Wayfinder Trio, I also figured they should get an Anti-Vanitas of sorts: someone here to cause problems on purpose and who gets along with the trio like oil and water. With that said, say hello to Nemus:
See Full Character Profile Here
[CW: Mentions of canon-typical unethical science, implied child abuse]
With the addition of Nemus, that brings us to six masters and seven apprentices from the Scalan keyblade lineage who are still aligned with the Light by the time of BBS…

This'll sound wild, but I kinda want Disney Animation to make their own Kingdom Hearts movie. HEAR ME OUT.
Tumblr media
It definitely felt like a good film to make to celebrate 100 years, but I've got several stipulations:
Tumblr media
Rather than relying on fanservice, I'd want to focus completely on the original aspects of this. I know it's ironic for Disney to make a film based on a video game series featuring many Disney movies and remove all of them, but it's better to focus on the original characters here, given that they already have A LOT going on. I don't mind Disney references, though! (Honestly, after KH2, the series relied mostly on it's own story while the Disney worlds felt like pit stops in the main plot, so in retrospect, it'd be better to stick to original content.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Sora, Riku, and Kairi would be the main characters in lieu of Sora with Donald and Goofy, while the villains would be Xehanort (who can change shape, allowing us to see him as younger versions of himself, and shapeshifting as other characters to mess with the group's minds), Marluxia, Terra, Vanitas, Xigbar, Larxene, Axel, Saix, Demyx and Luxord. The rest would simply be assistants/guards for Ansem the wise, as they were in the games before becoming nobodies. Regular monsters would not exist here, except for the Unversed, since Vanitas summons them himself, and the fact that most of O10 are nobodies. Xehanort would manipulate darkness, while the other O10 members would use their magical weapons as usual. The villain backgrounds outside of Xehanort's are explored, albeit briefly. This shouldn't be a problem; Axel/Saix, Larxene/Marluxia, Vanitas, and Terra's don't have an immense amount of details in their backstories that have to be explained. Xigbar, Demyx, and Luxord may need some extra time to explain, though. I'd also remove Namine and give Kairi her powers over memory; I'm kinda mixed about this since we have so many characters, but I did want to improve the female-to-male ratio.
Tumblr media
3. Have Terra join Ansem of his own volition after Xehanort sends Aqua into the realm of darkness and Vanitas "kills" Ventus (he's actually been hidden away by Aqua beforehand, but Terra doesn't know this). He joins Ansem the Wise as an apprentice, furthering his research into the nature of hearts without the latter realizing his malicious intentions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Give Ansem the Wise the role of Yen Sid, making him much more altruistic (and magical) than in the games. His investigation is tied with creating life and controlling others--moreso curiosity rather than actual plans to utilize it, largely encouraged by Terra in order for Xehanort to learn better how to control the hearts of others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Terra serves as a cautionary tale for Riku, but Xehanort manages to break his mind and enlist him into the ranks. Unlike Terra, who sadly obeys, Riku is much controlled, becoming cruel and condescending, similar to his arc in KH1 and Sasuke Uchiha.
Tumblr media
6. Flashbacks are given to the Wayfinder Trio, but nothing to take up too much time. Just give us the idea: they fought Xehanort, and they lost. I do like the idea that Ventus and Vanitas are his sons--well, Ventus is his son while Vanitas is the darkness taken from him and raised alongside him, until Xehanort abuses him once Xehanort kidnaps Ventus to get him away from Xehanort. It's better than expanding on the lore with the Foretellers (though I'd probably have them mentioned as the founders of the kingdom the film is set in without involving them too much), and we can still keep the reason why Vanitas looks like Sora. I'd also like their colors to be more apparent in their outfits (Ventus in green, Terra in red, and Aqua in a more vibrant blue). Plus explaining how Eraqus was Xehanort's childhood best friend until Xehanort was forced to kill him is a good way to explain how far our villain has fallen--I do want to nix Eraqus trying to kill Ven, though; instead he's the one trying to hide Ventus, before Vanitas and Xehanort intercept him. Xehanort kills Eraqus, and Aqua fends off Vanitas while she hides Ventus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. Neither Roxas nor Xion exist. Axel just befriends Ventus and Kairi instead. I feel like it creates more confusion (Sora has to become a nobody for Roxas to exist, and Xemnas to capture Sora in order to get his memories of Kairi to make Xion) to include them. These friendships make him question working for the Organization, hurting Saix. In fact, Vanitas and Kairi's pure hearts of light is what makes them uniquely strong against Xehanort, which is why Xehanort wants to capture them (plus to prevent Axel's swaying allegiance). Ventus is also of pivotal importance once Xehanort corrupts Aqua, as he becomes concerned that seeing him will break his control/influence over them.
Tumblr media
8. Xehanort's goal is clear. I'm super confused in the game what he wants, and something that I'd love is his quest for equality with light and darkness; as Fairy Godmother said, "strong rays of light create long shadows." Perhaps his world is consumed in darkness, or his home was filled with light, creating disproportionate corruption in other parts of the world. Plus this is reflected in his sons, Ventus and Vanitas: Vanitas is the embodiment of darkness, while Vanitas is pure light. Plus he'd keep his ability to see into the hearts of others, explaining his interest in Ansem. I'd nix the time travel abilities, though.
Tumblr media
9. Make it a musical. No, I'm not kidding. I love Disney musicals, and I'd love for it to have amazing original songs to go with the score. Hikaru Utada co-writing the songs would be nice.
I know a lot of people will bash this, but I hope you at least indulge me! Lemme know if you have any questions. I may tweak this later.

Young Apprentices AU
Just thinking out loud here, but what about an AU where Riku becomes Terra’s apprentice like intended? And an unlikely Sora ends up becoming Ven’s even though he’s still not a master yet. (Bonus if Vanitas secretly involves himself with Sora’s training as well or is recovering in Sora’s heart.
And Aqua eventually teaching Kairi would be great to. I just really want to see a young Destiny Trio being mentored/taken care of by the Wayfinders. I think Aqua apprenticing Kairi would take a minute for her to be willing to do though. And she would not be pleased with Ven taking on Sora since he is young and not even a master yet. She probably wouldn’t be crazy about Terra teaching Riku either but he’s already done the inheritance ceremony with him so what’s done is done.
Shoot, Ven might even have major hesitations about taking on Sora if he can recognize the physical similarities' to Vanitas. But it could eventually come out that Sora is the one who originally healed his heart and that gives him more of a push to take on the responsibility. Plus Sora would have totally wiggled his way Into his heart... ( No pun intended. ;3 )
I’ve got at least two different timelines for this au scattered in my brain. One where the OG Trio actually win at the Graveyard and Darkness invades the Destiny Islands earlier. Another for a time closer to when KH1 starts. It’s fuzzy but the brain worms are there.

(Cat)dom Hearts AU - Masterpost
alright i'll bite the bullet and finally make this post! i've been wanting to for... a while lol
Ok so (Cat)dom Hearts is an AU of Kingdom Hearts. All of the characters are cats, and most of them have warrior cat names. It still takes place in the KH universe and follows the same plotline, just everyone is a cat and has a different name.
Only Keyblade wielders and Organization members have warrior names (i say "only" like those aren't the majority of the cast… whatever). Other characters have "kittypet" names. A few exceptions to this rule are Naminé and Yozora (because nami named herself apparently, and yozora just because i Wanted To).
Union Leaders have the suffix "-star" except for the ones from specifically KHUx because they don't actually lead the Unions and are somewhat more of a co-opted leadership? (i may be pulling this out of nowhere, i cant remember rn).
Nobodies (specifically AtW's apprentices) had "kittypet" names at first but after losing their hearts, they were assigned a warrior name (this functions as a replacement for the Recusant's Sigil because i Said So). When they returned to being human (post-ddd/kh3), most of them chose to keep the warrior-styled name but changed it slightly (symbol for how they're not the same as they were before but they're not a Nobody either so they kinda get a middle ground) EX: Isa/Saix was called "Moon" until he lost his heart, then Duskthorn (Xemnas) gave him the name "Moongaze." After he died again and was recompleted at the end of KH3, he chose the name "Bluemoon."
Some cats have breeds, others don't. It's not that much of a big deal.
Most Keyblade wielders have a diamond on their chest (i say "most" because vani, rox, and xion don't have it, im just gonna say that's Because Sora). For most of these wielders, the diamond is their lightest fur color, to symbolize their connection to Light. However, if the wielder has turned to Darkness, (Xehanort, Baldr) this diamond is their darkest fur color. ~symbolism~ hehe
Oh and also Nobodies have a dark-colored oval-circle-thingy on their chest, to symbolize their lack of a (metaphysical) heart.
KHDR cast (wip) KHUX cast The Foretellers (minus MoM and Luxu) Wayfinder Trio, Lost Trio, Roxas, Xion, Yozora, & Org XIII Axel/Lea, Saix/Isa, and Riku Sora

Kingdom Hearts TNG - Birth by Sleep
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is going to cover the plot line of Birth by Sleep, a fragmentary passage, and before KH1. That being said, there’s a lot to get through. This also dives into a lot of altered backstory for some characters.
First of Aqua, Terra, and Ventus do not have keyblades. There are only 4 keyblades in existence. Kingdom Key, Kingdom Key D, No Name, and the x-blade. Don’t worry. Aqua still has her magic, Ventus has the power of God and Anime on his side, and Terra still has his accordion pants. We’re good.
The group lives at Radiant Garden rather than the Land of Departure.
Also, Apprentice Xehanort is a character all on his own and Master Xehanort isn’t existent. Apprentice Xehanort is the younger brother of Terra.
Apprentice Xehanort is what you’d call an antisocial shut in. He keeps to himself in the library and grew obsessed over recreating an ancient war. That’s why he sets out to separate Ventus and Vanitas.
Aside from the lack of keyblades, the story is pretty much the same, except for Destiny Islands and the ending.
The three give up their wayfinders. Ventus and Sora meet and Ventus gives his wayfinder to Sora. Aqua gives her wayfinder to a teenage Axel. Terra doesn’t give up his wayfinder until later.
Terra doesn’t become Xehanort’s new vessel, considering the fact that Xehanort is still pretty flipping young.
Ventus doesn’t fall asleep, but he still looses his heart as it goes to sleep instead Sora’s. Ven is just walking around without a heart.
Xehanort uses his keyblade (No Name) to trap the group into the Realm of Darkness, erasing the memories of the past few days from everyone they had met, his memories too.
The three wander through the Realm of Darkness. Ven gets separated from the group as he tries to find a way out.
Aqua and Terra arrive at the Great Margin. (This is during the beginning of KH1, which stays completely the same.) A paopu fruit washes onto the shore, the same one Sora tossed aside that Riku gave him.
After making sure it was still ok, Aqua and Terra shared it. Practically proclaiming their love for each other.
About a year of being in the Realm of Darkness (and still looking for Ven), Aqua and Terra were able to have a child.
When the kid hits one year, the group finds a way to return to the Realm of Light, but the entryway only allowed one person to go through. Aqua and Terra send their kid through, but not before Terra gives her his own Wayfinder.
The kid makes her way to the Realm of Light, ending up in Radiant Garden. She is found by The Gullwings, who take her in.
The Wayfinder Trio sink into the darkness, but promised that they will all return to the Realm of Light.

An Unhinged KH Rant That I Needed To Get Out of My Brain
here i am, once again, tortured by hypotheticals like- "what if kingdom hearts didn't suck?" and, "if i could rewrite kh, how and what would i cut or add?"
honestly,, my ideal kingdom hearts timeline is kh1, com, kh2, and days. that's literally it. games extending backwards or forwards from the end of kh2 (bbs & ddd kh3 unioncrossfuckinghell) really sapped the life from the series imo. in a better world, square and disney would've put kingdom hearts to rest by 2, and we would've all grown up and moved on with happy memories :))))
lol. but is it possible to extend the story of kh without draining it of all the magic, mystery, and charm established since kh1? by now i think we can all agree that here at the tailend of the timeline (kh3), this game has reduced itself to a fake deep shitpost soulless disney ad. :) -so, how could it be done anyway? ultimately, bbs would have to exist. you would need something to expand on the story's lore, and the lore of the keyblade and it's wielders is a prime target. i love and hate bbs; but i do think it really takes away from the charm of the keyblade itself and the mystery surrounding it. explains too much, if you will. lets not get into how the wayfinder trio spends their entire time talking about how much they gotta train and how their entire lives revolve around training and how wooden and stiff a vast majority of their interactions are eraqus dont even get me started he is so boring do not talk to me about the shitty gacha paytowin mobile game god help me also their shitty mark of mastery exam is with the fucking flying balls its so lame are you telling me this is what keyblade masters are capable of; what fucking happened to lingering will in kh2fm??? why cant we do any of that shit in bbs? wheres the fuckin keyblade transformations and capes in that game-
ok. bbs would have to exist… but it should've revived kh1's way of integrating disney plots into the main story. ALL the games shouldve revived that trick post kh2. whats the point of disney being a major half of these games if you dont use them. like- ven goes to fucking cinderella world and meets cinderella (NOT AS A RAT), and ven is sad and lost an looking for his friends and cinderella convinces her stepmother to hire ven as a stableboy or a peasent servant or some shit. something to get a roof over his head. ventus learns from cinderella about her dreams and it gets him thinking about what he wants out of life… maybe he wants to see his friends succeed and become masters but thats mainly just a pretty excuse hes been using to mask his true feelings. truthfully hes scared of getting left behind. maybe he discovers that he feels inadequate in comparison to his friends, and fears for the inevitable future where they leave home to lead their own lives/search for their own apprentices. fuck idk. 1 talk with cinderella could unlock all of that. easy. imagine writing. what a concept.
WHAT im saying is. disney shouldn't exist in kh just to be an ad. the reason why sora in kh1 came to the conclusion that MY FRIENDS ARE MY POWER, is because of the lessons he learned in each of the disney worlds up until his confrontation with riku. he literally explains his entire reasoning before he says the line- the disney plots mattered to sora's character development! by the end of the game, he became so much more wisened and was capable of butting heads with ansem who had studied all the esoteric makings of the universe and thought he knew where life began and eneded: darkness lol. but sora had come to a different conclusion: kingdom hearts is light!!! lmao!! it was an asspull, but shit. i could follow the line of logic well enough and it was cool and dramatic without insulting my intelligence.
what am i talking about? disney? i think the timeline extending backwards as far as bbs is serviceable, but nothing in this world will convince me otherwise from the belief that unioncross is hot garbage and needlessly complicates the plot to an insane degree. its literally star wars prequel movies but even shittier, but this time, theres a casino for the little kids!!! yay!! :))
aanyway. what about ddd..? the resurrection of org 13 needs to not fucking happen. and if it does, only like, 4 of the 13 and half of them arent even enemies. i dont want to kill guys i already slaughtered 2 games ago. theyre not threatening anymore GOD. what if kingdom hearts established new villians starting from ddd that would lead into kh3 being a whole new story? pretty epic right? it would be just like how com introduced the org13 the first time after ansem was beaten to lead into kh2! woww! but, like, who would this hypothetical new ddd-introduced villian be? we all know the kh team cant design characters for shit who aren't walking talking black coats. MoM? lol? i like the guy, but hes an overpowered omnipotent all knowing god that is too strong to feasibly be beaten by anyone without a humongeous ass pull deus ex machina to solve the problem. like c'mon, dont act surprised when sora inevitably walks up to him, goes- "light light friendship heart. the future can be changed!" and then MoM is like, "ah fuck i guess you're right. i suppose i, the master of masters, the most powerful keyblade wielder ever, maybe even the progenitor and also seer of all time and existance who knows everything you're going to do before you're going to do it-- knows less than you. i was wrong all along. guess ill die!". don't act like it wont happen like that :))). you really think the kh writers are competent enough to handle a character as difficult to manage as MoM? he's a cool guy, but they fucked up trapping him in this garbage game.
lmao. but anyway, who knows who this hypothetical new ddd villian would be. but it would have to be some other dumbfuck obsessed with the (((power of kingdom hearts))). thats the name of the game after all. so really, what im actually saying is- kh3 shouldve been a whole new storyline with new villians and plot, rather than dredging up closed plotlines from the previous games. we shouldnt have to be waiting till mf kh4 just for a new story. im not playing that game btw. not unless square figures out how to make a game fun to play like its literal 20 yr old predecessors of kh1&2, while also not selling me the fixes to the game in a 40$ dlc. fuck you. REMIND me not to ever play this shitty game ever again.
ok. i think im ok… i got everything out my system. bbs shouldn't have been garbage where you cant even be like lingering will by the end of the game. also disney worlds need to serve a purpose in kh beyond serving merely as ads… ddd shouldve introduced a new villian for a new plotline continued in kh3, rather than retconning and resurrecting everything from the previous games… and MoM is a cool guy trapped in a shit game that will inevitably get botched. yup.
ok i feel better now.

your ienzo as aqua's apprentice outfit is incredible thank you for this
Tumblr media
thank you!! I had reason to shift it;
the original outfit was 'fine' and had that Wayfinder vibe, but I wanted Ienzo to have clothes better suited for "quickly throw the labcoat over it and you couldn't really tell he was a JRPG character underneath it" The FF Summoner underclothes were perfect for the feel I wanted, so I ripped a LOT of the outfit (basically drew it 1:1 minus some detailing) for what he has now.
