My theory: This whole mural in the Keyblade Graveyard labyrinth, read from top to bottom, is depicting the final passage of the book of prophecies- Riku’s sacrifice (the solar symbol on top, the demon tide being split around them, Sora below) Sora’s heart breaking (the splitting of the heart), and subsequently the descent into the “abyss” (the coffin shaped chaos (greek khaos) symbol beneath the ground). Riku’s sacrifice was the last thing MoM saw/wrote down, hence why the final passage appears on screen when Riku and Sora are covered by the demon tide. “And so, as foretold, darkness prevailed and light expired.”
“The word khaos means "gap" or "chasm" being the space between heaven and earth.”
“In Christian theology, the same term is used to refer to the gap or the abyss created by the separation of heaven and earth.”

This is another impromptu sketch I did during the freak-storm last Tuesday (13 FEB). With the background now added, it gives a vibe to the KH3 scene before the Heartless engulf Aqua and she is made to confront them which manifest into her shadowy doubts.

Summary:
"I am in the business of collecting stories. Tales of long-forgotten civilizations, folklore, and legends, even just little comments about peoples’ days—if there is something to uncover, I’m willing to find it. When I hear an interesting rumor or snippet of conversation, it’s not in my nature to ignore it.
Which is why I now find myself charting a course to a strange, uninhabited world littered with only broken swords. Something happened there, and I'm determined to find out what it was."
A collection of reports collected from the Keyblade Graveyard, written by a researcher dedicated to uncovering its history.

Can anyone point me to an explanation or discussion about how Riku's sacrifice also contributed to Sora making it to the Final World instead of dying in the Keyblade Graveyard?
I know in game it is stated Kairi saved his heart from fading away (which I am in no way disputing) but I know I read a bunch of theory a while back about how it was BOTH Riku and Kairi who saved him and for the life of me I can't find it anymore.

This Mickey Ear crater in the Keyblade Graveyard always makes me giggle. How did it get here? Did someone's magic blast make it happen? A Mickey shaped asteroid? How??? What are your secrets, Mickey War Crater

A kind, gift, really. But, maybe it was misplaced? not entirely thought out. The harm it could later present.
But, in the moment, it was all you could offer, and all that he needed.
Hm. Gifts are irrational things, don't you think?
But irrationality is part of being human too.
A blessing, but a burden in disguise.
Perception and Debt.
*takes a sip from my non existent bevi* consistent well placed schedule? Nah we're going off vibes I'm proud of this one.
Anyways onto what is technically Sora and Vanitas' first encounter but shhh it doesn't count.
It's a good first impression, too bad he forgets it immediately tho.

Story Summary: Thirteen Keys, scattered across the worlds. Whoever holds them all is destined to rule the heart of all worlds: Kingdom Hearts. As the seven guardians of light and the thirteen seekers of darkness gather and scour the worlds for these keys, Sora finds himself caught between standing alongside his friends as they fight for the light and struggling against the encroaching darkness invading his own heart.

Chapter Summary: The lights continue to gain an edge against the Organization. But will they be enough to stop Xehanort's schemes in time?
Axel knew from the beginning, from the very moment he’d decided to stand against the Organization on the side of the lights, that this fight would come. He knew that they’d wind up here eventually, embroiled in a bloody battle on opposite sides of this war. He knew he’d have to face Saïx sooner or later, just as much as he knows that it’s his duty to take him down.
But just because he knew this all along doesn’t make it any better.
What does ease the blow a bit is that he’s not facing this fight alone. Roxas and Xion are by his side, two friends found in place of the one he’s long-since lost. He’s been in enough battles with them by now to easily fall into a rhythm with them. He relies on the brute force of Roxas’ dual Keyblades and the fineness of Xion’s speed and agility to bolster his own flaming swings. Saïx’s claymore deals devastating blows, but they manage to cover each other well enough to avoid the worst of it. At least until Saïx finally decides to tap into a technique all three of them have been dreading.
