❤️: Last song you listened to?
I listened to a lot of songs today with my sister, but I belive the last one was august by Taylor Swift.
🧡: Ideal pizza toppings?
Fries/baked potatoes for sure, because I just love potatoes and carbs to an embarrassing degree. And I like to add either saussage or tuna. Then I guess saussage + pecorino cheese, and courgettes + grana padano cheese.
💛: Dream vacation?
I have a lot of dream destination, just this morning I was thinking about how much I'd like to visit Florence and Pisa.
💚: Earth, air, fire or water?
Uhm, I'm gonna say air? Just because I've been reading Čechov's The Steppe (which I'm loving, btw) lately, and he does such an amazing job at romanticizing the air and the sky and outer space!
💙: Cartoon you grew up with?
Winnie the Pooh, Rolie Olie Polie, Bugs Bunny, Pimpa... I can't really choose one.
💜: Favourite scent?
Black tea leaves, especially a good East African English Breakfast. Then homebaked cakes, and my mother's homemade tomato sauce. :)

The Steppe Chapter is weird...
Arriving to a past plane of green undisturbed fields and free exchange and living so close to occupied territory felt like, relief that some people were able to escape the Garlean expansion
That said, "Fucking excuse me?"
Nemi had never wanted to punt a man so bad. What bullshit could be happening with this guy at the helm of the Steppe?
This really made me smile :)
The Steppe is also where Lyse reveals to Nemi that she knew of her tattoo's significance all along. and expresses understanding for Nemi's reluctance to discuss after concealing for so long... specially with the circumstances of her village. Lyse reassured her they could integrate with everyone if so was their wish, and that their choices were not something Nemi was solely responsible for. It's probably the only time Lyse, Tataru and the Twins saw her cry after the Dragonsong War.
Now, as for the story... don't want the results of the competition to go exactly as they did in canon, for obvious reasons.
The way Hien is characterized as this amazing prince that can do no wrong and oh all he says is so wise and he is the right one cause he is prince and raised just rang so, old feudal ideals idealizing to me. I don't know what period is Hien supposed to represent but given the pleasure houses that take children as debat payment and historical samurais not being as noble as they really were, he reeks of a rosy tinted glasses vision of the past more than a character. Maybe if he was overpraised less I would get the need of a symbol and the fact he did, sign up for this he did folster the first attempt at revolution. But the framing and Yanxia being what mainland China would be reeks off, washing off all the region as Japanese which is problematic for reasons I shouldn't explain. Research the Rape of Nanking with safe image search on.
Even though in canon, the whole deal is less worse/imposition esque than I expected, the fact the Warrior of Light is posted to become the Khagan despite being an outsider who is not gonna stick around to rule is so insane to me. Does the WoL really need this or where you desperate for your raider players to feel all powerful? And Hien being there doesn't help the soft colonialism overtones.
Because of this, I make it so that in the first discussion with the Mol and Cirina, she explains the gang they should present their cause to the tribe leaders but that they can't choose to join their cause unless the current Khagan allows it. Nemi and co agree to split and go around to present the troubles of Doma and Ala Mhigo in equal terms with the tribes, but in this they are collectively cornered and captured to Magnai's throne. Nemi tries to vouch at that moment, but is brushed off because of sexism. Hien has to maneuver and negotiate a deal that lets them make some favour to negotiate their freedom. Cirina arrives on time, and claims the gang as her loyal warriors that will represent her in the oncoming Nadaam and contest her right to concede the tribes' right to support the foreign causes they want to support. And so, when the mark is almost taken, Nemi pushes everyone off and Lyse bounces Cirina of with a powerful throw, landing her to claim the mark and the title of Khagan for the Mol tribe.
There, weird imposition vibes fixed I hope.
