Knife and Sword
Spoilers: ACOTAR and Crescent City series to date
What if we've all been misinterpreting the following prophecy:
When knife and sword are reunited, so shall our people be. You have the Starsword. What if … I don’t know. What if there’s a knife out there for me? - HOSAB, chapter 23
Some of us have previously theorised that, long term, Truth-Teller won't belong to Azriel, but - just as Ruhn claimed the Starsword/Gwydion in a trial, and wielded it physically until Bryce was able to use it magically - it may be meant for Elain instead. That, essentially, Azriel had his own sword in the stone moment with his infamous dagger, but was always fated to pass it on to Elain, who could either wield its powers or charge it with her own light? And perhaps she did, shadow walking to save Nesta and Cassian in ACOWAR?
Mor even hinted, back in ACOFAS, that Azriel may give Truth-Teller to Elain once more.
I've wondered before whether Elain could be "the shadowsinger's knife" to which Gwyn was referring, indirectly or not, in ACOSF.
There are significant links between Bryce and Elain, namely that Bryce has Theia's light, and Elain may have her Sight.
Bryce and the Archeron sisters may even be (very distantly) related.
What if it's not meant to be Bryce and Azriel fulfilling the prophecy as sword and knife, but Elain Archeron instead? This would be a massive twist.
Elain "I don't want a mate, I don't want a male" Archeron and Bryce Quinlan... do we have a new ship? 😂
Crazy? Absolutely. It's pure crack, especially as Elain hasn't had her own book yet. But who knows?

 @nestaarcheronweek | Day 07: Free Day
“You said you had an eight-pointed star tattooed on you,” Bryce explained. “And you found the chamber with the eight-pointed star in the Prison, too.”
Nesta lifted her head. “So?”
“So I want you to take the Starsword.” Bryce held the blade between them. “Gwydion—whatever you call it here. The age of the Starborn is over on Midgard. It ends with me.”
“I don’t understand.”
But Bryce began backing toward the portal, taking Hunt’s hand, and smiled again at the female, at her mate, at their world, as the Northern Rift began to close. “I think that eight-pointed star was tattooed on you for a reason. Take that sword and go figure out why.”
- HOFAS, Chapter 100.
In one of her past interviews, Sarah J. Maas commented Nesta's journey was just beginning after Silver Flames, and after reading House of Flame & Shadow I believe part of her journey will be linked to the Dusk Court, as not only did Nesta bargaining mark has an eight-pointed star form (which is associated with the Starborns and thus the Dusk Court), as now she is the Gwydion owner. And as much as Nesta power is usually linked to death, its also showed capable of bringing life (as we have seen with the House of the Wind and Feyre & Nyx). I also found it particularly curious that Pegasus started appearing in Avallen once the land was healed, since Pegasus seem to have an association with the Valkyries.

I know I keep coming back to this… but another thing about the Ruhn/Rhysand resemblance tease and then the actual events of HOFAS that is bugging me:
Why did Azriel end up with Truth Teller, and Nesta with the Starsword, if Ruhn (who is Starborn and actually wields the sword for a minute there) and Rhys are the two who have a connection??
Like again. I just wanted more out of it than I got. There were some good moments in the book, but I think my SJM expectations are just so high that it’s hard to hit them (which is only because she’s created such amazing stories in her books!).

I think Nesta will give Gwydion to Gwyn because,,,,
Everyone needs a weapon that is special (to them or to the whole world, doesn't matter)
The names?? They belong to each other
With Gwydion in Gwyn's hands and Truthteller in Azriel's, the duo will be unstoppable
We know Gwydion is an important part of the next book, and the book will be Az and Gwyn's. Soooo,,,

THEORY TIME, MY DUDES
I'm rereading crescent city and Ruhn is talking about the starsword and the knife, which we know to be Truth Teller. The prophecy says, "When knife and sword are reunited, so shall our people be." (Page 458). I think the people being reunited is going to play a role in the High King plot. I think somehow the two weapons are going to come together which will finally unite all of Prythian, maybe all the Fae territories.

***SPOILERS FOR ACOTAR AND CRESCENT CITY***
GUYS MAYBE IM JUST SLOW BUT I REALLY JUST MADE THE BIGGEST CONNECTION IN MY HEAD AND IM SHOOK
So Az in the acotar series has truth teller. I don’t remember where he got it so if someone knows please tell me. Ruhn from Crescent City has the Starsword (which he got from some cave where some old war god left it and only the Chosen one can find it and Ruhn found it so he’s the chosen one blah blah.)
In the scene in CC when Ruhn was in the library and read the line “only when the sword and knife are reunited, will our people be” or something like that…….it’s literally talking about Ruhn’s sword and Az’s knife…..that are from the same world…..
It seems so simple of a connection but I’m literally speechless. I was just reading CC like a normal book, not trying to make any connection to acotar cause I really thought they were just separate books by the same author…
But NO! They are literally in the same universe I swear to god.
I just got to the part where it mentions The Book of Breathings in CC. And my brain literally exploded. So I started thinking about it more.
1.) How tf did Jesiba Roga get TBOB????? It was literally Feyre’s and know Jesiba has it??? Confused???
2.) RUHN REMINDED ME SO MUCH IF AZ FROM THE BEGINNING WITH HIS SHADOWS AND NOW I KNOW WHY. I know they would be best friends and I can’t wait.
3.) In relation to Azriel and who his mate is or whatever… I don’t care if you ship him with Elain or Gwyn or even Cassian. I don’t care at all. But do you really think that the matching sword for Truth Teller being named Gwydion (the starsword) is a coincidence? The sword is the other half to the knife…..and it’s named Gwydion??? GWYdion????
Anyway y’all have a great day and please let me know if you have anymore info about this crossover or just related to any of the books.

Sing me - Starsword - Truthteller
There are hosab spoilers in this post so you have been warned. Also this is a theory/comparing post so I’m not saying I’m 100% right... enjoy.
In Crescent City starsword sings when bryce is near or she is using it.
Here’s a few examples.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Btw I’m taking singing as in power showing like sarah is using that word to show power. Not actual singing. Because it looks like Sarah is using it like that.
And from at the end of hosab we know that Truth-teller is Gwydion/starsword’s twin.
Tumblr media
Who are the two characters that is connected with Truth-teller? Azriel and Elain. We have a whole scene about them.
Tumblr media
•light and dark for elriel
• white and dark light for gwydion/starsword and Truthteller
And there is the prophecy from acomaf.
Tumblr media
There is so many ways to take this prophecy but the way I take it is that the pink highlighted parts are about Elain. (Other people made posts about this prophecy before so if you search it you can find other posts. I don’t have a link and there is many posts about this)
•We have gwydion/starsword > a made object
•We have Elain > a made fae
•We have singing in prophecy > gwydion/starsword sings
•We have Azriel > a shadowsinger
•We have truth teller > twin blade to gwydion/starsword

Ok people help me out here please.........
I was re-reading ACOSF and found this..
This sword isn’t Gwydion,” Cassian said, well aware of the myths regarding the sword. It had belonged to a true Fae High King in Prythian, as there had been in Hybern. He had united the lands, its people—and for a while, with that sword, peace had reigned. Until he had been betrayed by his own queen and his fiercest general, and lost the sword to them, and the lands fell into darkness once more. Never again to see another High King—only High Lords, who ruled the territories that had once answered to the king.
“Gwydion is gone,” Amren said, a shade sadly, “or has been gladly missing for millennia.” She nodded toward the great sword. “This is something new.”
So my question is... could this Gwydion sword the same starsword from Cresent City. Which Bryce now has.?????
