The Kings Velvet Set

This little set was inspired by Chateau de Fontainebleaus stunning Throne room. I had previously recolored other items to fit this set, so why not add the walls too.

The set is comprised of The Velvet wall, The gilded wall, The gilded overdoor and The round formal dining table.

[??]: The Earl and Countess of Boykins seem to have made a splash in Americreek.

Martin Lavelle [Private Secretary]: They're all over the news, and papers for appearing at the Academy Awards. Their recent pregnancy announcement, on the heels of the coronation, has increased their popularity in the country.

Queen Katherine: Good for them! Lara deserves some good press. She's always in my shadows. It's not easy being the younger. The spare. Look at Uncle Louis! He was the spare to my father until I was born. Now, his lack of control has allowed one of the families restaurants to be permanently closed.

Queen Katherine: Lara deserves to be seen as more than second place to me.

Martin [P.S.]: Absolutely, Your Majesty! My apologies. Their Royal Highnesses have had quite a busy visit of Americreek the last few days. The U.S. press has treated them warmly.

Queen Katherine: They have a Presidential election this year?

Martin [P.S.]: In November, ma'am. President McNally will be here in August for the G6 Summit. It is Windenburg's year to host.

Queen Katherine: I'd like to schedule a private audience with the Grand Duchess of Glimmerbrook for tomorrow.

Martin [P.S.]: Private, ma'am?

Queen Katherine: Off the books, Martin. Private. She will know what the audience request is for, and the need for privacy.

Martin [P.S.]: Yes, Your Majesty. Your first of two audiences starts at 8, before a host of investitures, ma'am.

Queen Katherine: My powers. I have 48 hours left to decide. I never wanted this for me. I wanted this for my children; to prepare them for what's to come. Spellcasters are making their way into Windenburg.

Queen Zarah: You have different desires of the stones power than of my dear son. He needed the powers to heal his body, and the amethysts for their wealth. You didn't choose this path. His late Majesty did. It is your choice now on how to proceed.

Queen Katherine: (crying) I feel selfish and greedy. Did I make a mistake?

The exterior is complete!  The contrasting bright red brick and light stone is just beautiful! I have to shout out a huge thank you @felixandresims @harrie-cc for their amazing cc!

I will be basing the interior off of scenes from the Netflix series Bridgerton. Someday I also hope to furnish a Tudor based interior for a medieval themed save file I’ve been planning to build.

Author's note: All text in cursive is narration

Upon entering the field there are sounds of Damien kicking soccer balls toward the goal. Brigitta smiles and takes her camera out from her bag. She points it at her brother and starts taking pictures. After a while she speaks up. Brigitta: Smile for the camera Mien! Damien misses the goal, startled by the sudden sound. Damien: Matron! You scared me Britta.

Brigitta chukles gently while Damien turns around and notices the camera. Damien: Oh, hi there camera! How come you're here already? Weren't we supposed to meet back home? Brigitta: Ah, I actually finished up at the campus quicker than I thought so I wanted to come and see you practice.

Brigitta: Plus my professor wanted me to practice taking photo's of moving targets so... Damien: I see. Well in that case I'm happy to help. So wait does this mean you're done with course presentation* already? Brigitta: Well when you have talent it usually doesn't take long.

Damien: Hahaha, that's true. Luckily at least one of us came to papa** and has talent. Brigitta: Damien don't you dare sell yourself short! I mean it's true I can paint and draw well but if anything that's more like dad**. You're the sporty one like papa is. Or have you forgotten about all his swimming trophies? Brigitta puts her camera in her bag while Damien gathers up the last of the soccer balls away

Damien: Matron you are scary when you lecture me like that. Brigitta: Well learn to respect yourself and I'll stop. Damien: Point taken. *sigh* Well I guess we should get going. Brigitta: Aren't you excited for the family dinner? Even our cousins are coming this time. Damien: I mean sure, they're great, it's just...

Brigitta: You're worried that Ben and Stefan will fight again? Damien: *sigh* I just don't get it how they can always be at each others throats. You'd think they would've grow out of it by now. Brigitta: Well maybe they're on their best behavior tonight. Damien: I really hope so.

DOWAGER COUNTESS OF BAXBURY CELEBRATES 90TH BIRTHDAY

Windsor Palace released the following portrait to commemorate the birthday of The Dowager Countess of Baxbury. The painting, commissioned by Her Majesty The Queen, features the four living generations of Her Majesty's maternal line to celebrate her grandmother’s birthday. The Queen's niece, HRH Princess Arabelle, was also included.

The portrait was accompanied with a small biography of the Countess' life, reading as follows;

Vivienne May-Porter, The Dowager Countess of Baxbury, was born the only daughter of The First Viscount of Banlocke, Duncan Fitzroy-Ellory, and his wife, The Lady Mary as The Lady Vivienne Fitzroy-Ellory. Despite her father's social elevation, the Fitzroy-Ellory family were of low wealth at the time of the Countess' birth and, as such, the Lady May-Porter was exposed to social prejudice against more financially gifted peers throughout her early childhood.

Upon turning twenty-three, she married Wallace May-Porter, The Viscount Ellenthorpe, the eldest son of the 13th Earl of Baxbury. Upon her father-in-law's death, she became The Countess of Baxbury. Together, the couple had three daughters; the Ladies Rosemary, Lucille and Sophie. Their eldest daughter, Rosemary, was bestowed the title 'Viscountess Ellenthorpe' and named her father's heir. Their middle daughter, Lucille, married The Marquess of Yhvenhill, later becoming the Duchess of Hancester. The Lord and Lady May-Porter's youngest daughter, The Lady Sophie May-Porter, would go on to marry HRH Henry, Prince of Sandringham. Upon his ascension to the throne, she assumed the title Her Majesty Queen Sophie.

Villa Cumbriam

The Villa is the best preserved Roman Villa in all Simparthia. It is believed to be built in 433AD and said to be the residence of the Magistrate of Cambria.

The Villa suffered a serious damage several time due to earthquakes. In 2017 big part of the Villa severly damage because of the 2019 Cambria Great Fire. Since than it has undergone a major renovation and closed to public.

Now 3 years later, the restoration is finally finished and ready to open for public once more.

Dearest Followers,

I absolutely despise this, please don't be too hard on me friends, but..... unfortunately, I'll be going on an indefinite hiatus until further notice due to my starting college this Monday for my undergraduate history degree! 🥳(this is all happening so fast) I definitely won't have time for the sims 😭 between throwing myself back into social situations after isolating myself since COVID started (no cap) and making sure I get good grades as well as working harder than I ever have to make sure I can finally move out of the Toxic environment in which I find myself so my grades can stay good and therefore as well as my mind... I won't be very if at all active on any of my sim socials and it saddens me so, but I will return and try to at least check in periodically, I'm so thankful for each and every one of you, with your endless love and support!! Zarah, Queen Dowager: [wheezing]

Dr. Webber: The air's a bit stuffy, ma'am. It might help to open the windows for a bit.

Zarah, Queen Dowager: Not while they're rehearsing.

Dr. Webber: "What are they rehearsing?"

Zarah, Queen Dowager: My funeral.

Dr. Webber: I don't like the way your lungs sound, ma'am. I recommend we increase your dosage. If you can't get outside, we will also need to supplement your oxygen.

Zarah, Queen Dowager: Whatever you think is best.

(Queen Katherine enters)

Queen Katherine: It's not often we hear you say those words, granny.

Zarah, Queen Dowager: What a lovely surprise. Come, sit!

Dr. Webber: I'll see you next week, Your Majesty.

Zarah, Queen Dowager: (laughs) I surely hope so!

Dr. Webber: (bows) Your Majesty's.

Queen Katherine: Thank you, Dr. Webber.

(Dr. Webber exits)

Zarah, Queen Dowager: Whew, glad he's gone!

Queen Katherine: Granny! Why do you give Dr. Webber such a hard time? You're like a stone!

Zarah, Queen Dowager: (chuckles) How else can an old lady have fun?

Queen Katherine: What should I do about this Amethyst thing? Does it warrant further involvement?

Zarah, Queen Dowager: Did you find what your father discovered?

Queen Katherine: Yes. My mother was the only person he told about the last clue. It didn't make sense to her but it does me. The plans he had were of the original Mayfield Castle, before its remodel in 1905. Daddy noticed a door leading to another wing on the fourth floor.

Zarah, Queen Dowager: A door?

Queen Katherine: There is no door. There is only a wall there now. I think there is hidden wing behind the wall, where Queen Isabella may have hid the Amethyst.

Zarah, Queen Dowager: It's worth seeing through. Having a contractor look behind that wall is simple.

Queen Katherine: I should go before they come looking for me. Martin scheduled audiences with the final two candidates to be my Lady-in-Waiting. I'm trimming the role down to only one, and her title will be Queen's companion!

Zarah, Queen Dowager: Lovely idea.

Queen Katherine: Try to get some rest, granny. I'm sure Grace will be in here to keep you company soon!

Zarah, Queen Dowager: "You should rest too, darling. The monarchy will push you!"

Queen Katherine: (laughs) I've learned how to push back.

(Queen Katherine exits)

Royal News: Princess Charlotte marries!

Last weekend the royal family had cause for celebration in the form of a wedding when His Majesty King Henrik’s cousin, HRH Princess Charlotte married her long-time boyfriend Daniel Birch. The couple opted for a small private wedding with just family members and close friends at Solna’s Old Stone Church. The Palace posted these two photo’s of the happy newlyweds on their socials along the announcement.

From the photo’s we can see that Her Highness wore a more modern but elegant knee-length dress and a elbow length veil. Mr. Birch went with a simple black suit. The couple will now be known as HR Princess Charlotte and HH Prince Daniel of Charleston.
