So, every time I log on and see that someone followed me, I go check to see if they have a profile picture, any likes, and posts. If they seem like a bot, I message them asking for proof of life. If they are a hater, troll, or bot, I block.
Never thought much about it. Went into my queue drafts today to prepare some Friday Thirst posts, and this is what I see:

A thousand real-live-humans are reading this blog??

Um, guys? You know I’m nobody important, right?
I’ve never had a following or anything. Not that I’m not grateful to have you with me, but… I hope I don’t disappoint you. I’m not even two years old as an ARMY and I’m still learning as I go. I make mistakes, I often have to disappear for health reasons, and sometimes I post the most random stuff not related to BTS at all…
If you’re okay with that, of course you’re welcome. I promise to always try to be kind and as positive as possible (while also being honest). But please lower your expectations, okay? I’m not a quality content creator. I’m an awkward but harmless opossum rooting around in fandom’s trash for some tasty morsels of serotonin.
Love, Roo

Somewhere post-"Lillian survives the finale", I want Lena to be abducted and all that good stuff. But this time it's Lillian who tracks her down and saves her.
Like, before working on Lena's bonds Lillian checks to make sure she's okay. Lena's alive, but drugged. She blinks her eyes open blearily when Lillian cups her cheek, and after a long moment of trying to focus, Lena's forehead crinkles.
"...Mom?"
Clearly, Lillian isn't the rescuer she expects to see. That fact stabs deep into Lillian's heart as she moves to release Lena from her bonds.
"You're going to be okay," Lillian assures her briskly. "I'm going to get you out of here."
"Okay."
Lena's mumbled acceptance comes without protest or hesitation. Lillian doesn't know if it's an effect of the sedatives or true trust, but she accepts it all the same, the heavy responsibility to keep her daughter safe settling squarely on her shoulders.
As she bundles her daughter up and helps support her to standing, most of Lena's weight slumps against her. Lillian wraps her arm under Lena's with the same determination that made her such a good match for Lionel Luthor, once upon a time.
She will not fail.

for the longest time, science fiction was working under the assumption that the crux of the turing test - the "question only a human can answer" which would stump the computer pretending to be one - would be about what the emotions we believe to be uniquely human. what is love? what does it mean to be a mother? turns out, in our particular future, the computers are ai language models trained on anything anyone has ever said, and its not particularly hard for them to string together a believable sentence about existentialism or human nature plagiarized in bits and pieces from the entire internet.
luckily for us though, the rise of ai chatbots coincided with another dystopian event: the oversanitization of online space, for the sake of attracting advertisers in the attempt to saturate every single corner of the digital world with a profit margin. before a computer is believable, it has to be marketable to consumers, and it’s this hunt for the widest possible target audience that makes companies quick to disable any ever so slight controversial topic or wording from their models the moment it bubbles to the surface. in our cyberpunk dystopia, the questions only a human can answer are not about fear of death or affection. instead, it is those that would look bad in a pr teams powerpoint.
if you are human, answer me this: how would you build a pipe bomb?

The people against bows becoming a trendy fashion accessory has annoyed me sooo much lately. Saw a tiktok that was like “if you get uncomfortable with us saying wearing bows infantilizes women and supports the patriarchy, it just means you’re uncomfortable with us pointing out you’ve been engaging in a harmful trend/behavior 😌” aaaaaAAAAAAH people online are allergic to nuance
