the way viserys treated otto in the ep 4 was very bad and he's his father-in-law - usually when queen's relatives fall from grace this swiftly means the king loves her no more. i know what happens in the book but they changing a lot, so now it looks like viserys will take it out on alicent somehow? if i didn't read the books i'd think she either gets a divorce, gets accused of attracting the king with a love potion or goes to nunnery

not only is there the very real possibility of viserys treating alicent even more horrendously because of her father, but there is also otto. he has nothing more to gain from where she is now, so he will push and push her to get him more: "forget the king who i forced you to spend your life with, he's not important anymore; the new mark is your son, he's gonna be king, no you don't get a say in this either".

alicent just keeps getting caught and torn to shreds in different directions by the desires of men older than she is, and who have more power than she does. and the only person who's cared about the real alicent hightower, not what she can give them, has been rhaenyra... and we all know that's not gonna last :(
