ok this depends on if you mean like. taking links surviving role or surviving alongside link. in my au the former would be.. a bit more complicated? actually that could make for a really fucked up scenario of which i shant say as . probably spoilers? actually no . in wotb link actually dies early (a recent development meta-textually). so basically if hes already in there and a champion has to be put in their instead theres two routes. one he could never be put in there at all, already gone by the time they find the SoR. or two he Is in there but something just Fails Really Badly. it just.. wouldnt heal him. so its a last ditch effort to put a champion in there.

so while we’re on the topic of that scenario!!! lets start with it!! 1 mipha. she would send out an ok signal to the other champions, and she’d either check on her people first or try to get vah ruta to the nearest champion to help them. or hell she might check on zelda first. i think the plan without link would be to either say fuck it we ball and impa would take zelda to the castle, Or just go straight to kakariko instead as a safety thing. i think she’d actually check on zelda as she’s seen as the most important, then try to reach the champions. i think she’d have the same problems the champions descendants have getting into the divine beasts honestly, though vah naboris would be easy theres no water close enough. vah medoh is not only too high but has an actual shield. vah rudania walks around too much and causes way too much damage to death mountain. she could fire her shot at one of the divine beasts, but that would kill the champion inside it, wouldnt it? so she just resigns to help zelda and impa. she can take care of guardians well enough honestly. her cause of death would probably be either malice or trying to heal zelda or impa While Being Fought at. shes put in and boom 100 years later. i dont know how scales work but i think they wouldnt regrow in the SoR and she’d be left with scarred skin. either rhoam or a zora she knew would greet her on the great plateau. rhoam… wouldnt exactly be happy about. link not being there. mipha being able to defeat her blight is proof to him that shes capable, but also he really has no other options. who else is going to help zelda? mipha had defeated one of his creations.. so she could defeat him. she kind of has to, master sword or not- she’s the only one left. if a zora she knew was there instead i think itd reflect on her personally more? like her healing, her tendency to look after others instead of herself, how she’s dealing with this. the zora wouldnt force her to help zelda, maybe not even telling her. but yeag. still amnesiac, and things go mostly the same as canon besides some.. hiccups. going into zoras domain would have her literally not be able to leave, let alone go to zelda or any of the divine beasts. dorephan and muzu would gush over her because well. they havent seen her in 100 years!! and shes alive!!! she’s been martyred which would be. uncomfortable to her. because she doesnt know who that statue is, even if it looks like her. sure shes calm and nice, but the statues face.. it looks. serene almost. calm. lifeless, dead. vah rutas been protecting the place, and vah ruta would also say hi!! she’d get a memory of herself here which could include her little self or her pre cal self Hiding Things, like vulnerability. itd make her uncomfortable as well!! There. like a memorial. she’d also be annoyed at purah teasing her about having to get parts but she’d mask it. she’d like indexing fish and birds in her compendium, and the sanke carp Fascinates her. she’d like kass’s music and really just sit and listen to him play. she’d also try to tell him what the shrine solution was once she figures it out. though i dont think he’d tell her the calamity legends. impa does however. she’d find lurelin and would So Badly want to go into the sea. however its too much salt. she’d probably fish there honestly, fishing rod and all. also though seafaring is dangerous for her so. no eventide unless a good boat rather than a dodgy raft. she.. tries to make it into korok forest. but she doesnt know how, and if link ever told her how he did it she cant remember. also its Super haunting for her i think she’d minorly see horrors in the mist so. yeah no forest for her. she’d defeat ganon though, and she’d probably live in zoras domain but take zelda with her. OH ALSO HER MEMORIES…. zeldas photos wouldnt help her too much. only 1 has her in it. so she’d get memories based on her surroundings, like how link gets snippets of the champions. seeing her trident would get a memory, the veiled falls shrine would have a memory, goponga village would have a memory, maybe the east post would have one?, and she’d have a zelda memory somewhere in zoras domain (maybe with those history tablets, or in an area with wildlife). and if link has a grave thatd also have a memory. she’d also get a memory of impa because hell yeah. im tempted to make link a spirit that follows her like the other champions honestly. but yeah post cal sidons been set as the ruler so. she can do what she wants. she’d mostly help zelda though.

in the scenario she lives alongside link, she’d tend to him on the great plateau and generally help out purah and robbie. she’d have to be at the domain most of the time though, and she’d be next in line for the crown rather than sidon. she’d grow older and do her best to help with the side effects of the calamity. she HATES yiga even more here than the last scenario. she also hates guardians, but she can take care of even the stalkers now. she’s there to greet link instead of rhoam, and helps him recuperate. she doesnt have a paraglider at first so for him to get down he’d need to climb down. or she couldve made a river system into the great plateau so if he holds his breath he can dive in and out. he still has to do the shrines zelda let mipha know that he has to. she might also travel with him honestly. she’d also spearhead the guardians on the great plateau when she finds out some are active. things would tense between them as time goes on but thats another story. basically old lady who may want to kill.

if revali survived!! uhh first scenario. he would fly all the way to the other champions first, and would check on zelda last. he’d also try to see how the village is doing before he flys to the champions. he cant get to naboris or ruta because he cant see anything, and rudania is at a Really painful angle, and with death mountain erupting.. its a pipe dream to make it there. he dies also to malice, or maybe to a guardian shot. same deal as mipha, either rhoam or a rito he knows greets him. rhoam has the same feelings (+exasperation because of all the champions, it was revali. and he’s a lot more of an old man to him with like changing the deal and teasing him. they would probably fight if not for the fact they dont hate each other). if it was a rito theyd focus more on flying than anything else. actually. he can get off the great plateau. i mean unless he forgot how to glide/one of his wings couldnt work he could. simply get down there. so for plot lets say he forgot how to fly and glide. once he learns how to again he goes to kakariko, and once he learns of rito village hes goes straight there and almost never leaves it. its His Hometown damnit!!! the nostalgia would get to him. though not knowing anyone would be… weird to him. but he’d still love the village. he and medoh would banter but theyd miss each other. he has to get to vah ruta by walking and hes SO mad about it. he would absolutely fight muzu if muzu hated him like he hated link. maybe muzu would doubt his skills and insist no outside help is needed. mipha would be sad probably. not to see him but just to see her family. but i think her and revali would be friends like pre cal and theyd have fun just with now looming dread. the flame resistant stuff would suck to put on, but he isnt going to drink it so he suffers instead. he would probably like yunobo. he’s able to reassure him better and yunobo is like you mentioned more reasonable in general so. yeah!! Maybe help zelda if she sends a letter but yeah. he’d have to find a hobby though

daruk!! he’d go to the champions straight away. vah ruta is isolated in water which he cant get to (and also has a shield), vah medohs way too high up, and naboris wont stay still, and though hes mighty he can absolutely get crushed by naboris’s legs. god how would he die. yiga misfire maybe???? malice once again?? probably just an accumulation of malice. hed try to instantly leave the plateau (no fall damage like majoras mask goron rock ball form) and while rhoam (if he was there) would try to tease him he’d have to just tell him ‘hey. you Have to do this. Its important. please’ or would straight away tell him the truth. if a goron spirit was there . shrugs. theyd probably focus on strength and building enough to get ganon. goron city, hailed as hero though hes a bit uncomfortable about that and tries to both take it and be mature(?) about it if that makes sense. like hes more comfortable with it than mipha, but it still puts him off a little. vah rudania would hate to see him (rudania missed him so much its unbelievable). vah ruta would be. one Hell of a divine beast to do. he’d have to use a thunder sword instead of arrows, and he’d be A Test to sidons strength as a whole. OH ALSO yunobo would love him !!!!! him bludo and yunobo would probably hang out post cal. anyways. vah naboris he would simply slam into their legs instead of bomb arrows. still would need the thunder helm. master kohga would respect daruk enough however business is business and right now theyre enemies. daruk would not like the yiga like mipha . closer to the hate scale than revali but less than mipha. he’d be pretty pissed at them and wouldnt realize why for a while. the yiga have to get inventive when he becomes wanted which means new weapons methinks!! also he’s let into gerudo town. gorons r genderless so. hell yeah. and. ok so daruk cant get up to vah medoh theres. not many options. either he’s chucked from hebra peak at all of medohs batteries and is finally chucked on board, Or if youve seen klerics 10 ways link can make it up to that divine beast on his own he does that. also also urbosa would have more hope with daruk than mipha and revali. revali would secretly be happy to see the guy. link might be a spirit as usual. memories! his stone smasher, death mountains peak, military training camp, the place where link saved him which he mentions in his diary, the hot springs/springs near the base of death mountain, honestly probably meeting mipha (maybe trading fish) ((where no clue, though he has memories of the other champions like all of them of which they arent the samw memory locations in botw. like miphas statue doesnt trigger a memory for daruk and anyone else ok sorry)), uhh zelda, impa?, links grave, and maybe some place in akkala.

the second scenario he would constantly try to help the descendants rather than link as he figures purah and robbie got it covered, but he visits them while they do great plateau things and they chat!! maybe try to take care of guardians. he would be the most straightforward with link, both in helping him gain strength but in his memories. he’ll offer to travel but wont force it on him. other than that he’d stay on death mountain with rudania. most things wouldnt be a threat with daruk around honestly. just a support beam basically. kind of sad because i. dunno what kind of character arc he would have in most of this. </3

urbosa!!! she’d take a quick glance at her people but go to zeldas and the champions aid. its hard to tell which she’d go for first.. like on one hand she’s biased towards zelda but she just went through a blight and can hear the SOS signals of the others. maybe multitasking? getting naboris to zelda as fast as she can, picking her up/dropping her off (which could lead to some chatting on the way), and then to a divine beast, maybe realizing about a quarter left of the way that theyre already dead and theres no point now. mipha would have a similar revelation probably just.. later. but urbosa dies helping zelda and impa, either distracting something or getting ambushed. great plateau, you know the drill. if rhoam was there theyd have some, “lovely” chats (theyd be So petty against each other. she’d find out her smiting power by trying smite him. though they are friends and have fun and would drink with each other.) and once her whole deal is revealed they have a little heart to heart, and this becomes even more serious to her. she’d go straight to the castle or would reluctantly go to kakariko taking rhoams suggestion seriously. if a gerudo was there it’d probably be more fighting training/regaining strength, plus. warnings of the world beyond this plateau. anyways. impa and her would be besties (though impa would be.. too lax for her). and she’d enjoy paya a lot, maybe try to flex on her to tease her. zoras domain dorephan and her would get along i think AND OH WAIT. SHE HAS LIGHTNING POWERS. if she can get the thunder helm she could finish vah ruta in one strike (though it Does worry the zora a bit). she may throw shade at muzu for his hate of hylians and of the shekiah tech (especially the latter i think). sidon and her would be battle buddies i think, theyd constantly try to outdo each other but still respect each other to have Actual Teamwork. dynamic duo that will kill you. also she makes fun of him sometimes. anyways. mipha would be pretty happy to see her! death mountain. either drinks the elixir first and then realizes most people apply it on their skin so. oops. but she doesnt really care so she keeps drinking it like its champagne. chugging. despite being used to the desert she still doesnt like the heat. yunobo and her would also get along i think!! she would just immediately kill whatever hes afraid of and he looks in. slight fear. though the mines was a workout for her and shes making sure he knows he Owes Her for that one. anyways daruk would be ecstatic to see her theyre Instant Besties. new ghost pal perhaps as well. he’d yell like a sports fan everytime she beats the blight/gets a hit. its chaotic that time the energy is just net positive despite the circumstances. hebra. honestly. she might be ok with it? the desert is cold at night and she lives next to snowy mountains. nice change of pace. teba gets her up there pretty easily, maybe bow troubles? slices the targets with her sword as teba watches in surprise yet defeat. revali and her would, once again, be very petty. however revali would still worry with the blight but she’s fine. i think she’d hate the rotating angle of vah medoh. aaand naboris!!! no freeing to do she just gets to see a long time friend of hers (naboris). she’d love riju and riju may feel a bit of pressure, but over all she’s welcomed back with open arms (maybe some new locals not recognizing her which would be interesting). though she’d have to clear the yiga. now on the hate scale, she probably wants them annihilated (i am so sorry). like riju would have to pull her back saying ‘heyheyhey yeah they suck but dont??? kill them??? or their entire clan????’ which would only barely stop her. she wouldnt even try to sneak through she’d fight them and threaten kohga for the thunder helm. kohga lets her have it without fight and makes a retreat, though he probably lays low? if he hunts her afterwards is debatable because on one hand she Is a threat to them and ganon, but also she Can kill them before they teleport and retreat. so a bit of a choice. also hateno, purah and her wouldnt be-

too much of friends but theyd get along well enough. same with robbie. she wouldnt get links house to her its not her problem. or maybe she does but because she’d think itd be a nice place for zelda. kass and her would just be diplomats to each other. link spirit maybe shrugs . memories!! sword and shield, kara kara bazaar, southern oasis?, shield surfing champion shrine that she did, patricia maybe?, digg dogg suspension bridge, a spring memory with zelda, flora and fauna with zelda, links grave, impa, the champions yadda yadda. the memory numbers probably dont match up between all the champions sorry

second scenario!!! exclusively helps zelda and either stops her from letting ganon eat her or tries her best to fight ganon before retreating and he eats zelda. then she just. wanders. purah probably helping her cope or just. do things. she might even stay in kakariko for a bit, and she moves out of gerudo town. she’d say goodbye to everyone of course. but ywah. also maybe guard kakariko from yiga of which cado would fear her immensely. she’d either greet link or let rhoam do it and just meet link at kakariko and be Cryptic and Vague like he was but push him towards helping zelda, maybe even traveling with him. however she’d probably try to have him stay On Track constantly which would go. poorly. either that or she silently judges him but doesnt say anything. she’d only really hammer in to Go To Castle once all the divine beasts are free. they probably split off though, urbosa going to either chill or help in some way just elsewhere. like helping robbie light his ancient oven and getting guardian tools. also she has more wrinkles now shes super super old

if link isnt revived but the champions arent put in the SoR itd just be a mix of the two scenarios, slowly chipping at the divine beasts while helping out globally and getting old and having to cope with everything afterwards because they still have their memories

ALSOALSO wanting the yiga dead is not a morally pure/correct course of action for them. it is not morally right thing to annihilate an entire group of people this isnt a bug its a feature. them wanting the yigas dead is not good. just in case.

yessss!! i have multiple! my sona is zivivi and hes been THE me for 3 years now, truly the sona ive been the most attached to:

but i think my most prominent orikeros are the kooras squad:

members of a military science organization, unfortunately this doesnt some of them from being hit with my silly beam. rozeze (biggest keronian in the piece) is a fairly prominent figure in general, taking over krukekes (black bird looking guy next to her; doubles as a father figure of sorts) position as head of kooras. other than krukeke she only has close ties to two other keronians in the picture - rozozo (guy in the visor :-)), her twin brother whom she appreciates very much despite him only merely working in security. and chikuku (the sad ghost), who is her digital assistant of sorts. a pathetic looking but effective one! the rest are simply subordinates to her, but the trio of pazaza/twuwawa/odidi know eachother pretty well (pazaza is the one with maaaany appendages, twuwawa is the fluffy one, odidi is the one in nerdy glasses) with twuwawa and pazaza having worked together before. all three work with keronian body modifications, usually in order to make them better, stronger soldiers a personal favourite is kirutwin:

the fourth kiruru, unsuprisingly dubbed "the twins" is unique in that instead of being banished and trapped on earth, they were killed before that could happen. other than that they were also more intelligent, calculated and cunning compared to other kirurus, which are still in majority seen as mindless machines. and also, worry not! despite the original kirutwin being gone their legacy still somewhat carries on, i wonder how? ;-) honorary mention to kurara:

tbh rereading my ywgttn review its less of a review and more of an analysis. i simply only know how to write opinionated analyses which i guess is what a review is! but it is funny that i whine abt the USA cover for the same length that i talk about the content of the book. sooooo i wanna talk more about it now that its been a year since i first reviewed!! read moreee

while i havent read it back to front since listening to the audiobook, i have been going back to it every now and then, both to reference something dan's said abt his own life as well as rereading some helpful advice. i particularly like the chart explaining how different feelings can feel in your body and while idt he uses the term somatic therapy but like the idea of the brain and feelings being a part of your body so like finding ways to treat your body well can help your state of mind. thats something that i think ppl forget a lot when it comes to mental health is that, it really is all connected. depression has a feeling in your body, anxiety can cause stomach aches frfr, and poor physical health can obviously cause mental problems. so i go back to that part a lot. tbh i havent really gone back to the morning and days after sections, i think cuz personally i still feel like im always in this night.... even tho i know im not! i think its kinda like that thing where you have an absolute dogshit day and its all you can think about but then in 3 days when u have ur next therapy appointment you completely forget that u were having a hard time bc you feel fine that day. (thats why you take notes and track ur mood lol) but like either way i def should check the other sections more. i think it really is meant to be read as a practical guide (which is like. the tagline LMAO) cuz i know a lot of phannies who havent finished it or stopped halfway thru but its rlly not meant to be read front to back? so its interesting how i recommended the audiobook cuz like it IS good cuz dans voice is nice and its fun hearing him say all his stupid references, but i think the physical book might be better for how it's intended to be used, as like something to pick up if youre going thru a crisis or if youre trying to figure out ways that can prevent a crisis or help you cope thru ur next one. so yeah if ur someone who bought ywgttn because Dan UWU but havent read it, i would say don't try to read it like a linear novel cuz it really isnt meant to be read that way! and honestly with my adhd ass brain i actually kinda prefer reading it this way! almost as if dan... no i shant say....

What is your OC's fatal flaw? Are they aware of this flaw? he holds himself to an incredibly unreasonable standard and is very harsh with himself when he inevitably falls short. he knows the virtues of love but also recognizes he doesn't love himself. it's something he's been circling around working on but makes very little progress on

When scared, does your OC fight, flee, freeze or fawn? it depends on the situation! most times nowadays he'll fight. he's scared but that's because there's a threat and he needs to protect his loved ones. he would also fight much earlier on in life but he managed to shift that to freezing/fawning as he got older. less of a problem (in his eyes) that way

How far is your OC willing to go to get what they want? he will break himself but (for the post part) never others, no matter how much he wants something

How easily could your OC be convinced to do something that goes against their moral compass? well he's killed people so. maybe concerningly less than he would have hoped?? something he's definitely been thinking about

What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them? he's much more of a softie carebear than I initially intended! he was always a doting/overprotective older brother, but as we played it just felt right to have him be more openly loving/emotional. it's meant to tie in with his efforts to be better at communicating, plus the curse of thinking of 1000 things you wanted to say to someone you can't ever see again also the wrestling stuff came a little later on and I love it so so much lol

Would your OC ostensibly be able to get away with murder? I would say so, yeah :> hee hoo ok but on Earth? ...maybe also yes. he does take after his mom a lot

His fists!! and yes!! he's also used a hunting rifle, but that was years ago and he did not care for it at all. he very specifically refuses to use weapons for fighting because of one line of thought that might maybe come up in-game so. I shant say it.

Is your OC self-destructive? In what ways? god. yes. aside from his self-sabotage in general, he physically picks at himself when nervous and has the bad habit of leaving wounds unattended/aggravating them bc pain is the best teacher/reminder and he needs to Be Better

If you met your OC, would the two of you get along? I might bully him. sorry bb

How does your OC want to be seen by other characters? ok this is a BIG THING for him. and I feel silly saying it plain like this but- he wants to be seen as himself! not someone's idea of him, or as someone else, just. him. but if you asked him this question, he'd say he wants to be seen as helpful. useful. he wouldn't say, but think- to be seen as kind. warm. but again, useful. loveable.

Does your OC have a faceclaim? If so, who? nope! in an effort to not just leave it at that tho- when I make characters I focus on a couple specific traits/ features and then work outwards from there, so I have troubles finding faceclaims that have the same characteristics

What is your OC's pain tolerance like? pretty good! he's naturally pretty durable but it's also something he's put effort into maybe a weird amount of effort but like. it's all a part of being a better fighter, right? and! not worrying people!

What is the worst thing you have put your OC through story-wise? ripping him away from his family :> but honestly maybe that's not the worst, he's had a lot of good things come of that after all...maybe it'd be the other thing

Is your OC more cold and detached or up close and personal? Keith can try as hard as he can to be as cold and detached and intimidating as he may (occasionally) want, but he's cursed to be an affectionate puppy in the form of a man

How does your OC behave when enraged? seething. violent. but it takes so so so much to get him to "enraged" and he'd much rather keep it that way

Does your OC have a tendency to get jealous? If so, how does this manifest? with relationships, he's moreso clingy than jealous. if he's with someone, he trusts them full-stop. he wants attention, sure, but he doesn't view it as someone else getting attention he wants or should be for him. it's just a matter of if he's getting any or not. it's another facet of his tendency to think of himself as the problem in most things. similarly, while it might occasionally crop up (he's not immune to jealousy after all), it's sort of rare for him to be jealous of someone's status or stuff or... anything

Does your OC have any illnesses or disorders? How do they handle it? he's allergic to dogs and had to be dragged away from them many many times as a kid. he's also been in therapy for years (with good progress!) for PTSD, survivor's guilt, anxiety, and depression

What character alignment would you consider your OC to be? good! maybe neutral good? he'll go against law and order if he thinks it will ultimately help others

What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express? his anger. depending on his age it either took him over or he swallowed it completely. It's ok for others to be angry, to feel those feelings and deal with them... but never him. it's something to swallow, to break down and sand off

What is an alternative life path your OC might have gone down? How different would their life be if they'd made those decisions? if he never got isekai'd, he would...probably end up taking over the family store as intended and just existing. maybe he'd succeed in doing so and coast, maybe he'd have to sell it in the end and get a different job. but he was not thriving and had no idea of how to start doing so, and his family is not quite aware of the level he was at with that (although Sam got close). it's weird to say and incredibly hard for him to think about but this really was overall a positive change in his life.

What is your favorite thing about your OC? his whore eyelashes and big eyebrows

(I had to start a new block bc this was too long oh god oh jesus) how emotional he is. again, I didn't super intend for that to be the case, but I guess after playing a very deliberately UNemotive character for so long it was meant to be lol I love drawing and imagining all the dumbass faces he pulls!! he's my little guy!!!

The Picture of Dorian Gray (The Original 1980 Uncensored Edition) by Oscar Wilde

well i read a book. there were some really interesting threads in this, i thought Dorian being a narcissistic weirdo was cool to read about, but other than the end of the book taking a much darker turn, i did't find much about this impressive. i don't like reading books expecting them to work harder for me to enjoy them, but i struggled to want to read this.

Must I Go by Yiyun Li

wasn't what i expected it to be, not really a fan of what it was. you give me an 88 year old woman who's survived her eldest daughter's suicide and raised her granddaughter and is looking after her greatgrandaughter and what do we do? we spend almost 200 pages of her dissecting the journal of some random man who ended up marrying his cousin and lived his whole life not knowing he had said daughter? why. i don't care! i don't care!!!!!!! and then when Lila (the character in question) did talk about herself, her mother having her dreams crushed in her marriage, her three marriages and further 4 children, it's just brushed over and kind of shrugged at. none of the "important" men in her life are alive and yet they took up so much of the book. whatever you keep dead people alive in your memory but other than being reminded how selfish and uncaring Lila was there wasn't much about this i felt positive about. wouldn't recommend, went straight in my donation pile.

Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay by Elena Ferrante

i finally did it. what a rollercoaster! i absolutely hate reading first person books when i find the character annoying. not to say a bad person, or morally defunct or anything. just plain old annoying. Elena Greco is annoying. fine in the first 2 as she's 10-22 years old and it's expected, but the third book sees her in her mid 20s early 30s and i genuinely wanted to throw this book at a wall. i struggle to see this as a tale of friendship at this point just because like. they aren't friends??? they're two women who at this point are bound by history and maybe that's the point but i want better for Lila and she remains the star of the show

The Story of the Lost Child by Elena Ferrante

i finished the quartet and feel emotionally wrung out. this was going fine but i think it's around 350 pages in there's a full blown "relationship" between Lila's 24 year old son and Elena's 15 year old daughter???? reading from the perspective of an awful mother was so jarring, too. really enjoyed the series, i just feel like i felt very untethered towards the end and i just wanted it to end

september / autumnal reads

i'm annoyed that i've ended up in such a white reading space so will be fixing that for sure. also need a romance, i haven't read one i've liked this year! something fun is overdue. i have some horror books picked out but that's not for a little while yet. i don't see myself picking up anything new (maybe?) so i'll just be picking from what i already bought, trying some contemporary reads that have been rotting on my shelf for the past year

Once a long time ago there was a blue engine named Edward. Edward was a medium sized tender engine who worked on the island of Sodor. Edward was a cheerful sort who worked hard. However he was old and not as strong as the others. He lived in the sheds five other engines. They were all bigger and stronger then him.

Edward would sit in the shed while the other engines boasted about being bigger and stronger.

"The driver won't choose you again Edward." Gordon remarked. "He wants big and strong engines like us."

"I can pull passengers Gordon I'm not that old."

"Edward," Henry chimed in. "You haven't moved in months. Maybe even years."

"Oh shut up!" Came a young voice as a blue tank engine with six small wheels, A short stumpy funnel, A short stumpy boiler, and a short stumpy dome pulled alongside the shed. " I swear you two just love to hear yourself speak!"

Gordon scoffed. "You keep your mouth shut little Thomas. You privately owned moungral."

"Why you-!!"

"That's enough you two." Edward said.

"I swear you big engines are the definition of big headed."

"Be quiet Thomas." Snapped James.

"Your the reason I get boiler ache." Henry said.

"Oh simply get a better boiler Henry it's not my fault you can't be useful for anything in life."

Everyone but Henry laughed a bit before heading off to work. All except Edward. Edward sat in the shed throughout the fall, winter, and into the spring. He waited patiently though. One day he received quite the surprise. The doors to his birth opened slowly to reveal a man in a drivers uniform.

"Oh, hello." The man said before noticing Edward's frown. "Why are you sad?" He asked. He thought for a moment. "Would you... Like to come out today?"

Gordon, James, Henry, and Edward gasped.

"Yes sir. Please!" Edward said his voice filled with joy.

"I like the enthusiasm!" The man said. "Lets get you steamed up!"

Soon Edward was simmering nicely and his boiler was warm. The driver opened the regulator and he puffed out of the sheds.

"Look at me he called!" As Thomas whistled in support.

Edward gently puffed into the yards and picked up a line of coaches. The coaches whispered in excitement.

"Well done old boy!" Called his driver as the raced down the line. He smoothly puffed along with the coaches singing.

"We're coming along we Shant be late! We're coming along we Shant be late!"

Edward felt the wind hitting his face and his whistle blow as he passed many people waving along the side of the line. Edward enjoyed every minute of it.

That night Edward backed into the shed where the others waited.

"Enjoy your day out Edward?" Gordon asked.

"Why I did Gordon."

"Yeah well don't expect it to become a regular thing." He said.

"Oh really?" Edward said with a smirk. "Driver said I did so well he's taking me out tomorrow." Edward smiled as Gordon tried to think of a response.

But he would never be able to say it. Edward was so tired he fell asleep while James and Henry chuckled at Gordon.

omg anon,,, thank u. i will try not to disappoint you. i have zero idea what you are in the mood for, so i will just go for the ones i think about daily. fair warning though, almost every good movie that i love and that lives rent free in my mind is from south asia.

Karnan: this movie has seriously been living rent free in my mind since 2021. it's. SO GOOD. warning for police brutality and caste based violence, though. but it's so good, and so worth it, so well fantastically well made. shockingly i haven't seen mari selvaraj's other film, Periyerum Perumal but this one. oh fuck. for a little bit of context, the movie is about these two villages who have a lot of inter caste disputes (while both are oppressed caste communities), and our titular hero's village, Podiyankulam is constantly denied a bus stop. it is such a good think piece on the ways in which caste violence is facilitated, the streams and rivers of oppression that prevent a people from living better lives. so SO good. i think its available on prime.

Village Rockstars: completely a different movie, but this movie is genuinely so loveable. it's about this one girl in a small assamese village who REALLY wants a guitar. it's a very slow moving movie, with some of the most beautiful shots of the director's own village. it's so evident the director just went "you have no idea how beautiful my village is. let me show you," and then infused the film with love from every angle. this one might be on netflix or prime, but one of them will have it.

Made in Bangladesh: this movie is not going to be available anywhere, so if you want to watch it, hmm. well. i shant say. i think the title says it all, but it's about a group of women working in a garments factory in Bangladesh and how they try to unionise. it's not a sob fest, it's not giving you scary facts about what you already know, but it is telling you how difficult it is to ask for anything when you are working in these conditions. again. fantastically made.

Tumbbad: horror movie. upper caste greed. a witch out of which a tree grows. a horrible, monstrous little creature. the sins of fathers passed on to their sons.

The Great Indian Kitchen: i love south indian food. not after this movie though. as my friend cherry says, "south indian traditional food basically means a woman cooks for five hours in the kitchen while the men relax." it's so damn GOOD though. the food i mean (also the movie, but fr). have you had an appam anon????? best thing i tasted since cream buns from sunder bakery. anyway this movie is another horrifying one, you should definitely watch it. it's so good. it tells you so much about the emotional and physical labour women do.

Wade: i can't believe i almost forgot wade, here it is. it's a short ten minute animated movie that put the fear of god in me. about climate change, if you can guess by the name. the sunderbans have been flooded, and if you can imagine what happens next, no you can't.

Jab We Met: okay enough of this depressing shit. also absolutely no one is allowed to judge me. i would die for this movie. i would kill for this movie. legally, if you shame me for this, i'm allowed to murder you. also i KNOW i know it has a manic pixie dream girl but he manic pixie dream girls her RIGHT BACK. i rest my case. also the songs are awesome. this is more traditional bollywood, and i have no regrets.

Jodhaa Akbar: what? i KNOW, i know it is sanitising a story to make Akbar look like the good mughal, i KNOW ruqqaiya begum was akbar's first wife not jodha, i KNOW fatehpur sikri wasn't even made when this film is presumably set, but the VIBES. the vibes are IMMACULATE. Jodha watching Akbar as he swings his sword in the sunlight??? their duel???? the flowers he throws on her??? kill me. kill me now.

Your Name: okay we all know the joke Shinkai can only make one movie but this first one. it had something. also i'm a sucker for the red string of fate. otherwise it's a very standard body swap movie but it's SO GOOD, and as it goes further some of the most amazing animation also happens.

Knives Out: please,,, i know its the movie of the year on tumblr but,,,, so good,,,,,. maybe i'm just a loser who has read too much christie in my life, but i love that the christie style detective is back!! the country house murder, the fantastic way johnson used narrators in the film.... immaculate. christie would be proud. also i know it gets flack for not being as sharp a critique as it could be (i think rightfully, that criticism is for glass onion. i liked it A LOT for a murder mystery, but its politics are duller than the first one's), but it's not a movie about race and class inequality. it's a movie about a murder. johnson just really accurately diagnoses the underlying issues through which a murder happens. also im a BITCH for a classic murder mystery.

Ernest and Celestine: a lovely animated movie about a friendship between a bear and a small mouse, who are supposed to be mortal enemies. also the animation is lovely, did i mention the animation is lovely?

Pride and Prejudice, 2005: you can't come to me for recs and not expect it to be there. i mean, the movie is a masterpiece.

oh i can't think of anything that you guys wouldn't have already heard of.... but i do love How To Train Your Dragon, and Into the Spiderverse. i will go insane when the sequel for the second one comes out. i LOVED Palm Springs when i watched it. OH Emma 2020 really delivered. Do Revenge was amazing too!! im sorry i have less to say about the white people movies......

this fandom makes me feel so freaking guilty about being a Billy stan and shipping mungrove. I can literally make an entire book about all the tiktoks and posts I've seen about people bashing Billy stans because billy is racist and what not. (I am black myself) and honestly, I don't see anything wrong with billy yet people make me feel so guilty for liking his character. Don't even get me started on mungrove I really like the ship but people have called me disgusting for shipping it because billy wouldn't like eddie. i dont even know what to say anymore

Tell me, what was your first impression with the Rescue Team and what's your impression of them now, since you're an Autobot yourself? Do you think they could survive the so said war? And why's that?"

High Tide wasn’t expecting a human to be able to climb all the way to his shoulder plate — apparently it was an easy task for them since he was found sitting on the floor — and they were carrying with them a microphone and a camera. A journalist, he thought, at least this one seems to be a bit younger than the ones I see on TV. As they adjusted themselves better on his shoulder, he seemed to agree on their request. “Sure thing lad, anythin’ for yer lil’ project I suppose.” Good thing he came prepared for whenever a journalist appeared by surprise...

The first question was what the humans says a ‘piece of cake’ in difficulty, and he was more than happy to answer it for project purposes! “I have to admit, when my ol’ friend Opie— I mean, Optimus Prime told me ‘bout them, my immediate thoughts were that the team was a bunch o’ hatchlings that couldn’t protect themselves like baby turtles goin’ across the beach sand to reach the sea.” A pause. “After their first successful water rescue with my teachings, I realized their full potential as a whole. Heh, the fact that sometimes Heatwave gives Kade a lesson is quite funny to see from the sidelines and... Well, months after that, I see that they’ve a lot to learn with one another and a path full of success ahead of them.”

... He was not prepared for that second question. After all the good things he saw and just talked about his team... how he can say anything remotely bad about them now? In front of a human that’s more likely to be a closer fan of them; in front it a camera that will record every word, every syllable, every emotion and every move he will make; in front of a microphone that was recording everything from the start. Was this a trap? If so, how the other’s fans will react to what he was about to say? The captain clenched his fists together on his lap and took a heavy ex-vent, processing what he will say at that very moment...

“W-Well, I...” he stuttered, his dark servos now nervously resting on his legs. “I believe they can’t survive the war, little one. Why ya may ask? It’s simple. Ya see, every so often the team risks their own life for the safety of all citizens when a disaster happens, being it stoppin’ a volcano to destroy the whole island with its magma or even... Usin’ their own energon in order to save everyone,” he muttered and clenched his fists once again, tighter this time around. This brought him some memories, it seemed... “It’s 10x worse outside of here... Ya remember Morocco and his MorBot, right? He was causin’ such destruction everywhere, shootin’ and destroyin’ everythin’ on its path. Imagine that... but it bein’ more than one or two or four... Decepticons, the enemy ‘team’, are in big advantage by creatin’ lots and lots of soldiers everyday and gettin’ all the energon they can...”

Another pause. A longer one, this time. “If ya still don’t believe me... I was there when the island got teleported to another side of this planet. I was there to guide the island back to its original track, I was there makin’ sure everythin’ went accordin’ to plan and... I was there when the Rescue Team used their own energon to supply enough power until they get here. It was... terrible to see how weak they were. They weren’t respondin’, they weren’t movin’ as the cables connected to them took all their energon for that dome... I was there, watchin’ everythin’ with my own optics. Of course I... I carried them to the firehouse with Optimus, Blurr and Salvage helpin’ me but... ugh. If they were this weak by supplyin’ power source for the others to live... I’m scared of how they would do outside of here, covered in damages and gettin’ their energon leaked battle after battle... I’m so sorry, but I belive they wouldn’t survive any of that for too long.”
