TES Food::Mushroom & Veg Risotto
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Elder Scrolls: The Official Cookbook
Mushroom and Vegetable Risotto | 4/5
⭑⭑⭑⭑☆ | Taste: 4/5
Creamy, saucy, and deliciously savory
⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑ | Cooking Ease: 5/5
🥣 Single-pot cookable
⏱ Quick prep + cook time
🔪 Little prep: the leek is the only thing you need to cut by hand. Otherwise, can use a food processor for the rest
⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑ | Cost to Make: 5/5
The leek is the only thing that can get pricey. Asian grocers are your best bet; otherwise, use an onion for a cheaper alternative

Can confirm this lavender honey bread is honestly an amazing first bread to start off with when baking! The smell is lovely, the flavor of the lavender isn't for me, but this also makes honey bread that's to die for!

Breaking out the skyrim cookbook again
Potato cheddar soup might be my favorite recipe from it
Used leeks instead of onion because I had some leeks nearing the end of their life
I usually have some bread and butter with it but I didn’t decide to make it until I saw the sad looking leeks. Might have to pick up a loaf for the leftovers though

So, I semi-recently got into making mead. I took an elective class on brewing and distilling my last semester of undergrad (it was classified as a chemical engineering class, lmao) and I loved it. Distilling is something you can only do with a license, and beer brewing is technically easy, but requires a whole setup I don't have space for. Mead, though, is pretty much just mixing honey and water and letting the yeast go to work (it's also a lot less carbs than beer, which my body appreciates).
The first batch I made was pretty terrible, but it wasn't hard to figure out what I did wrong, and the next try was much better. And since I have chronic gamer disease, once I had the method figured out I obviously had to try some of the Skyrim recipes - after all, if it wasn't for Skyrim, I probably wouldn't even know what mead is. I started with the Honningbrew recipe from the official Elder Scrolls cookbook, and it came out great! I have some ideas on how to improve the next batch (I'd really like more flavor from the apple), but I was proud enough of it to whip up a fun little label in photoshop, so I figured I might as well share it here, too.

Anyway, here's your friendly internet reminder that if you think something looks fun, you can literally just.. go do it. It probably will be fun, even if you're bad at it! No one's stopping you except for you.

Any warm and cozy recipe ideas for a satyr-kin? Or maybe self-care, or masc/dark outfit ideas that come in bigger sizes? Sorry if this is a bit different ^^'
Dont be sorry, I got you!!
Tumblr media
So for the fashion I tried to include stuff that was modern/casual that you could wear without drawing too much attention to yourself. I also included some more obviously fantasy-styled clothing if that's your vibe too! I hope these inspire you. I think the puffy legged pants (aka "pirate pants" really give off the vibe and you could incorporate that into a lot of modern outfits!
Cozy Recipes For A Satyr:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Grilled Garlic Mushroom Skewers
Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates
Medieval Potage Stew
Charcuterie!
Herb Baked Eggs
If you love cooking I have to recommend any sort of fantasy/medieval cookbook. They're FILLED with cozy recipes that might scratch that itch for you. You can find a lot of free scans online but I recommend The Elder Scrolls Official Cookbook, Heroes' Feast (Official D&D cookbook), and Tasting History by Max Miller (this guy also has a YouTube channel by the same name where he uploads free tutorials and recipes!)
As For Selfcare:
Feasts!
I'm not sure about you specifically, but its said that satyrs are known to love the pleasures of the flesh. Feasts! Drinking! Be merry! If you can, take the time to have a meal with friends, family or a loved one and just chat it up and have a good time!
Indulge your senses
Surround yourself with things that appeal to your senses. Succulent fruits, vibrant colors in nature, wonderful music, etc.
Ritual Baths
Treat yourself to a bath infused with herbs, flowers and oils. Play some gentle music or ambient nature sounds. Maybe even light some candles!
Seek Adventure
It can be anything from visiting somewhere you've never visited in your local area, to taking a day off to take a hike! Nature spirits thrive on excitement and exploration
Feed your mind
Storytelling and learning. Dive into podcasts, books and mythology and expand your knowledge. Revel in the magic of storytelling!
------------------------------------------------------
I hope you like these! I had a LOT of fun making this. Satyrs are so cool!

I am so happy! For Christmas, I got The Elder Scrolls Official Cookbook. It contains classic recipes such as sweetrolls, Elsweyr fondue, S'jirra's famous potato bread, and even 'skooma' (a sweet alcoholic drink). This is the perfect gift for a nerd that likes to cook.

I finally got my hands on the elder scrolls cookbook! So frickin hyped to read it!!!! I primarily got it for my partner as they recently have gotten more into cooking and Skyrim has been one of our favorite shared interests.
Sorry if this is weird or something, Im just really happy I got it and I dont have anyone else to share it with.
I don't want anything to do with the official cookbook (long story but you'll probably find some...overlaps in my work and what the author made as "original content") but thanks for thinking of me, I hope it's fun for you regardless. ~Tal

Lunch! Today's lunch all comes from the official Elder Scrolls Cookbook, which I've made quite a few recipes since getting it for Christmas! They've all been delightful so far ^^
We've got Redguard Rice (ground lamb and wild rice), Stewed Apples and Eidar Cheese (sweetened spiced stewed apples with goat cheese), and Potato Bread (what it says on the tin)!
Today's a half day, so no dinner posting tonight! Might share something else I've been working on for a couple weeks though~

TES Food::Vegetable Soup
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Elder Scrolls: The Official Cookbook
Vegetable Soup | 3.5/5
⭑⭑⭑☆☆ | Taste: 3.5/5
Texture is pleasant: thick like a stew instead of watery. Flavors get better each day after cooking, kinda like indian/thai food. Just doesn't have enough oomph in flavor. Could probably be better with more stormcloak seasoning
⭑⭑⭑☆☆ | Cooking Ease: 3/5
🥣 Single-pot cookable
Medium prep: it's a decent amount of ingredients to prep
⭑⭑⭑☆☆ | Cost to Make: 3/5
Leeks can get pricey. You could probably use onion instead, as long as you sliced them quite thin. This soup is already chunky enough with all the rest of the ingredients: thicker onion cuts might be off putting texture-wise
You could probably substitute potato for the butternut squash, but then you lose the fall-season flavors this dish has to offer. There is something comforting about the squash

actually a fun thing to note if you do not own the official elder scrolls cookbook is it uses grains of paradise for most spice mixes instead of black pepper. i do not know why. the climate of tamriel should allow for black pepper cultivation in some areas.

Another recipe from the Skyrim cookbook vegetable soup. I didn’t have squash so I used sweet potatoes and the greens I had on hand was spinach.
The winter cold has been getting me down having a nice hearty soup is helpful.
I love barley soup but it just doesn’t keep well which is a bummer because soup recipes always make so much. The barley soaks up all the both and you get a really thick stew when you heat up the leftovers
This is another recipe I’d made again.

I'm brewing! All recipes but the last from the official elder scrolls cookbook, which I've made a lot of food recipes from by now, and am dipping into the drinks! Last ones from the official D&D one named heroes feast, which same deal
The three bottles on the left are skooma- apricot, cardamom, vanilla and sugar water in vodka. It'll be a nice cordial soon (I started it over a week ago and forgot to mark when it was bottled, oops)
Back left will be honningbrew mead- pink lady apple, ginger, and lavender
Next to it is the black briar mead. Supposed to be blackberries, rosehips, and cinnamon, but I couldn't find the first two so substituted blueberries and hibiscus, and added some whole cloves. We'll see how it goes!
And on the right is the delayed blast fireball/Firestar wine, which right now is toasted dried pasillo pepper, cloves, cinnamon, and bourbon. I'll be adding some water and brown sugar when it's ready in a week!
