I feel like, if he survives past the end of the narrative, Theon could find some sort of peace as a Priest of the Drowned God. And develop a reputation for telling you the most fucked-up stories and fables you've ever heard in your life, and when you go "What was the point of that?" he just says "What is dead may never die" and then walks off to make someone else nervous.

Bran/The Old Gods and the Storm God
The Storm God is thought to be the enemy of the Drowned God.
Ravens are creatures of the Old Gods
Their ravens were creatures of the Storm God, and he did not trust their healing, not since Urri. - The Prophet AFFC
Storm in the North
That was the night that Asha first heard the queen's men muttering about a sacrifice—an offering to their red god, so he might end the storm. "The gods of the north have unleashed this storm on us," Ser Corliss Penny said. - The King's Prize ADWD
Bran and Summer use storms to catch the free folk by surprise
The lightning flash left Jon night-blind, but he glimpsed the hurtling shadow half a heartbeat before he heard the shriek. The first Thenn died as the old man had, blood gushing from his torn throat. Then the light was gone and the shape was spinning away, snarling, and another man went down in the dark. There were curses, shouts, howls of pain. Jon saw Big Boil stumble backward and knock down three men behind him. Ghost, he thought for one mad instant. Ghost leapt the Wall. Then the lightning turned the night to day, and he saw the wolf standing on Del's chest, blood running black from his jaws. Grey. He's grey. Darkness descended with the thunderclap. The Thenns were jabbing with their spears as the wolf darted between them. The old man's mare reared, maddened by the smell of slaughter, and lashed out with her hooves. - Jon V ASOS
As Bran grows stronger storms appear. Additionally, lightning/thunder is more common during the Summer season.
The moon was a crescent, thin and sharp as the blade of a knife. A pale sun rose and set and rose again. Red leaves whispered in the wind. Dark clouds filled the skies and turned to storms. Lightning flashed and thunder rumbled, and dead men with black hands and bright blue eyes shuffled round a cleft in the hillside but could not enter. Under the hill, the broken boy sat upon a weirwood throne, listening to whispers in the dark as ravens walked up and down his arms. - Bran III ADWD
Just some interesting parallels

in carrion, will we see more effects of lucerys’ connection to the drowned god besides just visions?
There are definitely consequences to encounters with eldritch forces in ASOIAF, so Luke may not be able to brush things off as easily as he might hope. Magic is the sword without a hilt, after all.
But given that the guy closest to Luke’s experience in canon is Patchface…

I used to think the Greyjoys/Ironborn were absolutely craycray with their obsession of "drowning" people to make them "rise harder and stronger" but honestly? I get it now.
I went to the beach last week and to the pool today, swam underwater a little and damn if it didn't feel amazing and if *I* didn't feel great everytime I got out of the water.

Why didnt the priest of the drowned god practice a bit pragmatic syncretism like the septons during the ironborn supposed "golden" age? Seems to me that could have been a potential binding factor to tie the Population of the conquered Lands to iron islands. Instead of praising carpenters, shipbuilders and all sorts trade they Smalltalk occupies, they Presse reavers who are a minority
This was tried, although not by a Priest of the Drowned God - King Harmund II "The Haggler" Hoare tried to promote the idea that the Drowned God was the Eighth God alongside the Seven, as an aspect of the Stranger.
The problem was that the Hoares' efforts to promote the New Way were violently resisted by the religious fundamentalist the Shrike, who overthrew and publicly mutilated Harmund III and his mother Dowager Queen Lelia Lannister - leading to a devastating war with the Westerlands that left the Iron Islands decimated and starving.
Unfortunately, the Shrike managed to avoid a personal comeuppance for his brutal actions. Sometimes there's no justice.

just. the idea that, in betraying robb to euron, the old gods cursed theon to pay flesh for flesh because what is dead may never die yes but can you honestly say, you're more greyjoy than you are stark, theon? the answer is no, no he wasn't. the squids may answer only to the drowned god but wolves keep to other powers and the north values duty, loyalty, honor above all

i just had a vision— so you know how storm's end was built because this one guy married the daughter of a god and her parents were just destroying their house every other day because they didn't approve? so what about. a reader who's the daughter of the drowned god.
-
why the drowned god? simple, im back in my greek mythology phase, poseidon is my favourite and the drowned god is the closest thing we have. so yeah demigod reader just chilling around, enjoying life by the stormy sea and dancing on the shallow parts of the water.
-
life is good until some yandere (stark, targaryen, lannister, greyjoy, or whatever) sees her being pretty and living her best life and decides to just— abduct her. chaos ensues. divine wrath? yes, baby. divine wrath. more people die by drowning day by day, weather up north is doing worse than usual. weather in the iron islands is basically unsurvivable (that's probably not even a word) and they're like: HE'S ANGRY THE DROWNED GOD IS ANGRY—
-
literally no one else in the 7 kingdoms believe them because it's the faith of the seven that dominates but the storms and the hurricanes are making there way down south. Papa is angry and everyone else is suffering because of it, and reader? she's trying to survive whatever sicko has her while also trying to find a way to get her dad to chill out. no one is having a good time.
Oh my, i can totally relate to this. (Although i am not a fan of Poseidon, i have an extreme fixation on greek mythology)
And honestly? Why just one? Make her like Helen of Troy and have millions killing each other for her.
They kidnap her and drag her here and there.
Papa becomes furious cuz his little girl is not coming home 😞 while she is trying to run away from crazy ass motherfuckers who want her ass 💀
