Ok so I have only watched TADC once and the first thing I'm drawn to right off the bat is Kinger.

He's quite the guy and I think moving forward he will be one of the more interesting character to delve into. One of the things about his personality that immediately comes off is that, in spite of his mind being a bit all over the place, he is actually fairly knowledgeable on the world they find themselves in.

Jax does express confusion when Kinger begins explaining to him how the food in the DC works, which could indicate that either he didn't take enough interest in Kinger to hear what he was actually saying most of the time (this could be the case as he seems to be super dismissive of just about everyone), or that Kinger doesn't express his knowledge often. I think it could be a mix of both.

Honestly, his mental state doesn't seem to be an act. I believe that, due to being in the Circus for so long, his mentality is verging more towards that of the npc characters like Caine -- wacky and nonsensical at times -- while also still retaining the capability of deeper though like the playable (player?) characters. I wonder if he kept the knowledge he has acquired overtime mostly to himself and just recently started to express it randomly because of the previously mentioned change in his mind.

When talking about Kaufmo, he is the first of all of them to realize that something was "wrong" with him and reaches the conclusion that he was going insane (which was later revealed to be correct as Kaufmo turned into an Abstraction). During that instance, he expresses his concern for Pomni's own mental state.

He's been here a long time. He's probably seen many others become Abstractions, just like Kaufmo: he knows what the warning signs are. The fact he also outright refuses to go check on Kaufmo indicates to him having an ounce on what might have happened to him, as well as the possibility of him knowing what the effects of being caught by an Abstraction are. Ragatha said she was in a lot of pain while glitching; it might be possible for Kinger have touched by an Abstraction in the past, or he watched it happen to someone else.

((Either way, Ragatha and Jax don't really seem to consider Kaufmo's Abstractification (?) at all when going up to check on him, meaning he might have been the first actual companion they had who turned into one.))

Another thing that shines through in his personality is that, in his own way, Kinger is a caring guy. When doing rock-paper-scissors with Gangle to decide who would have to save Zooble, he celebrates his victory before sprinting into action.

Gangle is visibly confused by this, as she was expecting to be the one who would have to help, but Kinger interpreted it differently and was more than happy to get Zooble help.

He's such a strange guy. I love him.

There's a trailer for TADC episode 2

Let's just cut the shit, ratta-tat, pitter-patter and get this show on the road!!!!!

It looks to me like the adventure of the da will see the crew (minus Zooble, so screw me and the other Zooble fans, I guess) being taken to the candy castle town by and admittedly adorable gummiphant thingy. The last shot somewhat reminds me of Caine explaining what Gloinks are, so I can only assume the MPPEP syrup Bubble is presenting will be the mguffin of the adventure.

The gang will be provided with a candy truck for their quest, and Jax will be provided with a flintlicorice, because why not?

I'm honestly shocked Goose's love for Gummigoo didn't tip us off to him being evil, either way, it seems him and his 2 goons (one of which references Pizza Tower and is thus automatically a great character) will repeatedly try to stop our plucky performers from

We get 2 brief glimpses of Fudge Monster, who seems to have a hypnotic stare and is a good bit bigger than I expected.

Now for some misc. details.

Judging from the background, this might be Gummigoo finding himself in negative space in the code after the adventure he was made for is finished, which might build to something in future episodes.

I have no idea what's going on here, but it can't be good.

And lastly, when we see the May 3rd release date, Pomni specifically calls out that she was sent to a meat freezer, which makes me think episode 3 will be the one to take place at Spudsy's.

Since we know the performers are humans that entered the circus it’s interesting to theorize who they used to be before that. Of course we have very very little information but I still wanted to work with what we do have because it’s deceptively a lot. At least for 2 characters, but I’m not gonna talk about pomni. She has alot of religious imagery tied to her but there’s nothing really holding that together. Anyways imma talk about Kinger.

We are told 2 things outright about kinger, he’s been there the longest and he’s “crazy”

My theory is that Kinger was the lead developer/ someone high up that worked on the circus. Out of everyone he’s the one with the most logic when it comes to the world and how it works which is weird and insane to anyone looking in. A lot of this can be chalked up to pure experience but things like the nutritional value of food or timing when someone will abstract is a little outside things he should be aware of. He’s a white king chess piece.

White moves first in a game. He probably is the first to arrive, trying to test the game before the company sells it to the public. He’s also a weak but extremely important figure in the game. If anything gets too close to him, he’s in check essentially. The tent’s floors are also a chessboard theme which probably doesn’t mean anything but I wanted to mention it. He refers to himself as “royalty” and the lead developer of a game would probably be considered such. Everything is screaming that he’s important.

Under the cut I’ll talk about his other design elements

Out of the 4 characters that wear gloves only 2 both have white gloves, Kinger and Caine. White gloves also seem to be our “cursor” of sorts but that’s not the only thing these two have in common. They also have the same style of eyes, more bloodshot in kinger’s case, they are asymmetrical humanoid eyes that both share blue as one of their colors. It’s a bit strange that they share these traits when they could’ve totally gone fully unique. It feels almost deliberate.

They are both as crazy as each other but one is introverted and one is extroverted. Obviously they’ve known each other the longest so I wonder how their relationship is onscreen. Though something I’m realizing is that Kinger and Caine’s teasers were also connected! They were telling two sides of the same story. Bubble tries to chomp Kinger but Caine reels bubble back in.

I wonder if Kinger’s actual name is Abel.. that’s going too far I think lol. I need to see a fully green eyed character now

There’s definitely something here but I don’t expect my theory to actually be what canon will become lol.

It's interesting that the 2 characters that could see the exit seem to be circus themed, every other human has a toy theme. Given that there in a circus this might mean something, or it's a coincidence.

My pomni theory

Pomni put on the VR headset knowing it’ll trap her in the game forever and wipe her memory, because in the real world she experiences trauma of physical abuse that she wants to escape from and forget

i have lots evidence to back this theory up so keep reading! ^_^

whenever someone touches pomni, she almost always glances at their hand with a blank expression (also resembles the “100 yard stare” look, seen in PTSD survivors) this is something i also experienced as a person who’s diagnosed with PTSD. these are just a few examples of her doing this, there is more

in a post, gooseworx (the person who made TADC) confirms pomni doesnt like being touched.

this is a clip of pomni bracing herself when jax’s hand swings close to her face. this is the clip that made me confident enough to post this theory because if my theory is wrong, how else could this clip, along with the other evidence, be explained?

so yeah thats all to my pomni theory :p ill probably debunk other theories later on with all the evidence and information ive gathered (can yall tell tadc is my special interest.)

So you know that whole “Caine & Abel/‘Able’”theory that me and a bunch of people had when the pilot premiered?

What if Caine isn’t exactly an AI in the game? Or, at least, in the way that we think he is?

What if Caine’s a password cracker?

Hear me out: Caine is there because people got stuck in the game, and the rest of the development team back in reality is panicking because they can’t get them back out from their end. So they enact a password recovery software to, quite literally, recover them.

Caine’s there to keep them entertained and to prevent them from abstracting. He’s basically keeping them occupied while the irl team works on trying to get them out of the game.

Caine can only create fake exits instead of real ones because he physically cannot create real ones. His ability is limited to getting the key, not opening the door with it, let alone creating said door on his own.

THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS THEORY!

Why caine does not want people venturing out into the void! And the history of the circus

What we know:

The void is a mysterious place, a vast expanse surrounding the circus with no known "purpose" all we know is that its considered dangerous

In the pilot, we see Caine talk about the void briefly. Telling Pomni:

"Not even I know whats out there"

Kind of warning Pomni to not attempt to venture into the void. When she tries to ask about the exit door he completely shuts her down, not even wanting to talk about it. Which might be for a darker reason than we might think

Eventually coming across the exit doors again, she actually ignores his warning and goes through the exit doors anyways, eventually finding her way into the void.

Caine obviously doesnt like it, and scrambles to get Pomni back to the tent where he can keep an eye on her, but this may also be a way to actually protect her along with the others

Later he admits to lying about the exit doors, that they do exist but claiming that he didn't know what to put on the other end and never finished it. Which makes the doors lead to the void instead. They all kind of accept this as fact and go about their day while Caine neve brings it back up. However this was also a lie, to protect them.

Other evidence:

During the exit doors sequence, we see in one of the rooms a Logo with the initials:

C&A

(Filter put over the screenshot to brighten the logo and make it more clear)

I theorize that the initials stand for two names

Caine & Abel

We already see how there are some references to the Bible in the pilot, one example being the feat at the end symbolizing the last supper. So it would make sense that caine was a refrence to the bible Cain and the other initial would most likely be Abel

Now there could be multiple things that could of happened, some similar to the Bible story and some different. I'm mainly gonna talk about one that strays from the original Bible story.

The Actual Theory:

I theorize that Caine and Abel both ran the digital circus. Whether they were both trapped there or were never apart of the real world to begin with, they were both in charge of everything.

The amazing digital circus was a fun website/ vr game for people of all ages to have "adventures" but then eventually leave. Caine and Abel both made NPC's and stuff for the players to do.

Eventually the players started to get "trapped" and were unable to leave. This became a big problem for Caine and Abel, they both now had the responsibility of helping this players try to "escape" and to help keep them mostly sane. However eventually they would abstract, and there is nothing they could do to help them.

They technically would have the ability to fix their bodies, but as Caine said

"The one thing I don't have control over is your mind"

They would not be able to fix their minds, anyone who got abstracted had become compeltey insane and there was nothing they could do but keep them locked away as to not hurt the others

Eventually all of this lead Abel to venture out to the void in search of an actual "exit" or some information that could help with the trapped people/ abstracted people's situation. Caine may or may of not agreed with this decision but Abel left anyways. Neither of them really knew what was out there, which really scared Caine. He didn't know what Abel would be dealing with out there. And Abel never came back

Caine slowly lost a bit of sanity himself waiting for Abel to come back with a solution to their problem. He would be happy if Abel came back at all. But after many years he never did.

Caine found other ways to distract himself and the others from their problems. Creating adventures. Giving them lots of activities, making digital food and allowing them their own personal space to process their thoughts and have the digital sensation of "sleeping"

For Caine himself, he created Bubble and possibly other npcs to distract himself. He would hang out and talk to Bubble like he used to with Abel. He made the moon fall in love with him as a fake scenario to help his sanity or possibly keep himself from abstracting

And thats what Caine has done for years. At this point anyone who even knew about Abel Has already abstracted. Everyone currently still going barley knows anything about the void and the exit. (And yes I know that they said that Kinger has been there the longest, however I think they meant that he's been there the longest out of everyone who has not abstracted yet. Kinger had not been around long anough to know Abel. There have been people before Kinger that are long gone by now)

With every new person, Caine fears that they will try to go into the void and never come back. He doesn't want that, he wants to protect them from the same fate that Abel had. So they are forever stuck on a tiny island in the middle of a vast void, with no way of escaping, fixing the abstracted minds, or even preventing people from getting trapped in the first place.

Closing thoughts:

Thank you, whoever you are, for reading all of this! I don't usually share my theories however I wanted to share this one because of how much I've thought about it! I've not seen many people talk about this, many bits and pieces based on the evidence but not a full theory!

There is not much evidence for this theory however, given how we only have one episode, so most of this is just speculation and headcanons. However I think its interesting!

Some small bits of this theory might of been talked about by others, so let me know if you see other people talking about similar things! I did briefly talk to @therearenonutsforsomeendermen about this so some ideas may of come from them

I'd also like to hear what you guys think about this so reblog or comment your thoughts, wether you agree or disagree!

Calling it now, this mf is Jack.

I’m not just saying this because Jack and ‘Kaufmo’ are two of the several characters (e.g., the shapes or the black tentacle thing in the teaser) that we know little to nothing about, but I actually have evidence.

Here is exhibit A: The Wacky Watch trailer, where Jack was first introduced. In one of the brief moments Jack are shown, we see him covering a cardboard cut-out of a clown of some sort.

Coincidence? Well obviously not

This clown is Kaufmo. How can I tell? Though Jack covers most of the cutout, we can see a goofy ass pair of feet and a party hat with a sphere topping it. Who else has a hat just like that? Who the bloody hell else but Kaufmo?!

wait ok so like. If none of the tadc characters need to eat or drink or sleep, what happens to their real bodies. Because they are/were all humans and they're basically trapped in vrchat right...

are they not allowed to leave because there's no body to go back to ...

maybe that's why pomni sees exit doors, because she just got there, so her body is still alive. maybe the other clown guy i forgot is on life support or some shit or was newer than the others and just snapped easier idfk

AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS THEORY ALERT

WEEOO WEEOO THEORY ALERT

So this is gonna connect to that "everyone in the circus worked for C&A" theory

Alright so just yesterday Glitch posted this in the community tab on their youtube channel

Despite it being funny af I couldn't help but notice how much 80's memorabilia was in here. All these items (minus the digital circus stuff) were very popular or invented in the mid 80's.

So I decided to check back on that scene where Pomni is running through the exits. Specifically that moment where she stares at the desk and I noticed something.

That straight up looks like an old and dirty Commodore 64

All this equipment just screams 80's to me. Everything in that office seemed like stuff from the 80's.

And I haven't seen anyone else talk about these but I noticed a few other things

One

We see the headset that all the characters have put on to get in the circus right on the desk.

Two

We see several computers on as Pomni runs past them. I counted 4 but that light on the floor in the first picture could be a 5th. In that case, that's one for each human currently not abstracted in the circus, minus Pomni. And what do we see when Pomni is back in the circus at the end of the pilot?

The computer she had a mental breakdown over is now on.

She's back online

Finally, three

A poster can be seen in the back that seems like the same colors as the digital circus logo. This could definitely be a hidden reference to something I don't know but this looks very digital circus-y to me.

So with all that, here's what i'm adding on to the office theory.

C&A (Caine & Abel) was a video game company in the 80's that was experimenting with creating a virtual reality headset for gaming purposes. The world of gaming had slowly begun to rise in popularity, and they decided to stay on top of this trend with a very ambitious strategy. VR gaming was just beginning to make a statement in the world as well, so the C&A company began working on something new.

They create this idea for a wacky game called The Amazing Digital Circus. A VR game where you'd get an avatar and go on adventures lead by a ringmaster character. All was going well, but at some point during development, something (who knows what) went wrong, causing anyone who wears the headset to have their consciousness sucked into the game. They'd lose the memories of their lives, only knowing that they were human, and now they're stuck there forever.

This was less of a theory and more of pointing out stuff that I haven't seen people mention yet, but I think its useful.

Please feel free to add on with theories on how you think their bodies are affected in the real world and stuff about the digital circus. Expand upon this please. I feel like i'm onto something.

My epic and super important prediction for 2nd TADC episode is that this is a dream sequence- since falling down in a void forever is a common nightmare. Dreaming about abstracting perhaps?

Furthermore, she doesn’t seem to wake up peacefully here- before even clipping on a block she kinda launched herself out of her bed

But what do ya’ll think about this scene? A nightmare, or something more?

What we (indirectly) learned from the TADC update

So many adventures and characters announced!

Where do we start? How about we do (sort of) chronological order

Starting with...

The only one we have a name for! This is also the one we see the most of, so it's probably in episode 2.

And here we have some colorful denizens of the seeming medieval and western confectionary realm:

So we have a gummy-gator sheriff, a chocolate blob, what might be a more distinct varirent of Dr. Football (the bath mannequin) and a literal Candy Queenie.

This just proves to me that TADC will pull a Psychoville and give the oldest main cast member the first spotlight episode. The actual character significance is something we'll get to later.

Now, adventure no. 2. Spudsy's!

You can see the brand name on the bag, btw.

The glove might belong to Spudsy, themselves, it might actually BE Spudsy, or it might just be a floating glove. Time will tell.

But Jax being so freaked out makes me wonder if this will actually be his episode. I'm actually not sure if this is episode 3 or 4 and, again, we'll get back to this.

We also learn the blue sphere person is (likely) the base template of the Spudy's customers.

Now, The Ghost Manor!

The only confirmed shots we get of it are of a little ghoulie and the Ghost Hostess from the teaser. This is my other contender for episode 3 or 4. The reason I'm unsure is this:

We get these very similar shots of a recorder classed as a new character, and Kinger beating someone with a shotgun. The light makes it seem like this might be in the ghost episode, or it might be a Kinger's backstory related flashback/delusion.

And lastly, the sport adventure we get teased with:

As the only unrelated asset we see, I'm guessing this will be in episode 5.

On the production side, we have this in the description:

From how she's talked about it before, it seems Goose currently plans on 1 season while planning to leave enough room to continue the series with a second season at some point.

And most importantly, we're looking at May as a likely, though importantly, not confirmed, release window for episode 2.

In conclusion, GET HYPED!!!

theory: the amazing digital circus is an early 2000's edutainment game.

I am probably biased but this entire pilot brought back so many memories of my childhood windows 99. my reasoning -those graphics are very late 90's early 2000's esk (before it zooms in ofc) -no one can swear -the name of the show sounds like shovelware you would buy to give out at schools. -the first thing the "players" are asked to do is to collect colorful cutesy creatures all around the map. -Zooble's design feels aggressively 90's, though that could also just be gooseworx's funky style. Basically what I am saying is TADC is what if SAO took place in a 2000's edutainment game instead of an RPG game lol.

!!SPOILERS TO THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: PILOT!!

Tbh I definitely feel like Kinger has some Trama or at least some history with abstracts from the possible people that abstracted while he had been there

He's clearly freaking out than he did the other times when abstracted Kaufmo showed up

Along with the fact that he's constantly scared by just random people and very jumpy

Also!!! Has been said to have "Supposedly been here the longest" so it would make sense for him to freak out if he's been here so long

There's obviously been more people here before him and we can thank the doors for that!!!:

And the only form or way we've seen people get basically thrown out of the Circus was to become Abstracted.

[ also another random thing to add that's a queen chess piece that's been crossed out that's the door literally right before Kinger's (not important to the theory thing but someone I wanted to add.)!! ]

It's also been shown there has definitely been people abstracted before Kaufmo:

TADC THEORY: ESCAPING IS INVOLVED WITH THE NAMES

[This is based on "spirited away"]

So, in the movie Chihiro gets a new name from the witch, and Garu reminds her about not forgetting the real one, otherwise she wouldn't get back home

Caine chosed a name for Pomni when she entered the circus

In both cases someone is given a new name by someone else [And in Chihiro's she would be property of the witch]

But in tadc nobody [at least to this moment] has warned Pomni about the name thing, prob because none of them tried to remind it, or they got tired of thinking about it

So, even if Caine is evil or good, the only way to exit the circus is re discover their names, until then they will be property of the circus

bible and tadc

OK SO ON A DISCORD SERVER I'M ON WE TALKED A LOT ABOUT BIBLE STUFF IN THE PILOT, ima share my thoughts

Let's start with the obvious stuff:

Caine seems to be a reference to Cain, one of the first humans, who kills his brother because of jealousy that god likes him more. Our caine is very not violent, and i have some thoughts but not sharing them yet.XD

We see a C&A logo, so everyone is assumimg that's Caine and Abel.

The last scene looks like the Last Supper by Leonardo de Vinci. Pomni is sitting in Jesus's spot, so we can assume pomni will parallel jesus.

Now, the good stuff...

Goose said that Jax will be the morally worst character, and he'll do something very unlikeable in later episodes. You know who does something bad to jesus? (Jesus like pomni)

JUDAS. In the bible, Judas betrays Jesus. That would really suit Jax, and here's a scenario I came up with:

Jax will somehow cause Pomni to be abstracted (jesus died bc of judas), maybe because he thought that would let him escape. Everyone will hate jax lol

Pomni goes to the cellar (jesus's tomb) as her abstracted form. SOMEHOW, she gets unabstracted (resurrection).

Someone said ragatha could be Mary magdalene (prostitute that jesus stopped from being stoned to death, later she was the first one to see resurrected jesus). Pomni already kind of (albeit badly and not really) saved ragatha from abstracted Kaufmo. Later, ragatha could be the one to find unabstracted pomni.

My bible knowledge is a bit shabby, so not guaranteeing accuracy XD most of these ideas come from other people!
