I wish I had more time to write. I have so many fic ideas that live in folders that I am afraid will never see the light. After I finish my Big Bang fic I still have to finish To B With Love & All The Kings Men (oof poor baby has gone so neglected). So this brain bunny will sadly probably not see life until next years big bang honestly. But I love the idea so much and want to share it. All my love to @dream-about-dancing who helped me with my initial brainstorming and encouraged me that this wasn't too dark of an idea lol.

That said. Warnings ahead for some dark!romance as in, this is fucked up with purpose.

The idea came to me after the massive disappointment that was Don't Worry Darling. I just feel like the film missed a lot of the horror and emotional beats that make the original Stepford Wives so twisted and compelling.

So my idea for a Harringrove Stepford!Wives Au was born.

A secret government organization has given Martin Brenner funding for "The Eden project". The goal of Eden is to create an actionable community model that would end poverty, wealth inequality, crime, war etc in the western world. Their slogan is " take the first step to world peace. Choose Eden."

World peace is the surface goal, but we all know Brenner is a closeted sociopath - so naturally he's using Eden and the technology behind it to create a weapon that can control/erase/change the will of others on a mass scale. World peace through mind control in other words. Everyone in Eden is essentially a test subject.

Brenner finds volunteers by preying on fringe groups and people who are ostracized in society, because they can more easily disappear without being missed. Nobody cares if the guy dealing drugs out of his van stops showing up to the corner, or some "tranny" quits their job and moves without telling anyone.

Billy and Steve are college roommates, it's the 80s, and they're both deep in the closet. Billy struggles with his childhood trauma and Steve is there for him like no one else ever has been. Steve is exploring his own sexuality and trying to live independently of his overbearing parents for the first time and they form a very codependent relationship.

Steve's parents start to suspect somethings up with him and his roommate and start to put pressure on him to live up to his responsibilities (Aka join his father's firm and get married to a nice girl). It doesn't help that Billy is fearful and possessive of their relationship and generally just a giant redflag. Steve just wants to be with Billy, but he knows they don't have a future and he doesn't want to be the son who fucks up and ruins his family over something he shouldn't even want - so he breaks up with Billy.

Billy spirals. He completely ignores the part about Steve breaking up with him because he's an unstable mess lol and fixates on Steve's parents and the world telling them it's wrong to be together. He knows Steve was happy with him and that Steve loves him and is desperate to get him back.

He meets someone at a bar who introduces him to Project Eden and indoctrinates him into Brenner's circle. At first Billy thinks this sounds like some weird geek novel bullshit, but the idea of a safe world where he's not wrong for being the way that he is, and where Steve still loves him and he's powerful and successful and nothing can touch him? Appealing as fuck. Sign him up. He'll be a warrior for world peace.

Cue him literally abducting Steve on his wedding day and bringing him into Eden, where they become The Hargroves. They have the perfect life and the perfect marriage that the outside world tells them they can't have. Billy's the provider and each day he gets to come home to his blissfully happy and submissive husband.

He was afraid at first that Brenner's technology would take away what he loves most about Steve, but no he's still the same dork with the same fire. The only downside is Billy knows deep down that Steve didn't choose this and he lives in fear of Steve waking up one day and truly hating him.

The first crack comes when Steve starts to have upsetting dreams about the past, including the time his dad called him a slur and accused him of ruining the family and breaking his mother's heart. Billy tells him these are just nightmares but he knows they are really Steve's memories popping up where they shouldn't. He starts to panic and does everything he can to "fix" Steve, gaslighting him the entire way.

Meanwhile poor Steve is on a reluctant heroes journey slowly regaining his memories and his own mind. He starts unraveling the mysteries behind Eden with the help of Eleven and his friends, who are also fellow residents of Eden. Eleven is Brenner's "daughter" and unknowingly is a big part of how the technology works. Max and Lucas came to Eden together so they could be together without persecution. Heather and Robin were lesbians who didn't know each other and wanted a chance to experience being in love. Jason was a closeted man escaping religious trauma, but in Eden he's the perfect husband to Chrissy who isn't sick or being abused by her mother anymore, and Eddie was a poor social outcast who wanted the world to hear his music. In Eden he's a rock star and has a budding romance with Jason & Chrissy.

Steve agrees that they can't allow Brenner to use El and the Eden technology for what he's planning, but the more of the truth he discovers the more he wishes he'd never woken up. Because despite everything, he loves Billy and the life they have. Billy's very sorry of course. It was never his intention to hurt Steve. He just wanted to make things right for them. And it can all be right again if they all just take this little pill and go to sleep.

Decisions decisions.

@motleystitches left me this lovely, thought-provoking comment, and I wanted to take some time to answer it throughly:

"But was there at any time genuine affection between Louis/Lestat? That’s the part I feel is really awkward. Ep 5 seems to be asking to reinterpret all the previous episodes. Yeah, it’s abusive, violent, but ep5 made it seem like *everything* was just fake to Lestat, so they never went into a “pattern” at all. instead, it was just a game/hunt to Lestat…"

First, I apologize for taking multiple days to answer this. Second, let me clarify that I will make mention of things that I feel explain each character's shitty behavior. Explanation does not equal excuse. There is simply no excusing a great deal of what has gone down here.

So, to dive right in: Yes, I absolutely believe there was - and, still is - genuine affection and love between Louis and Lestat. That love is, quite understandably, not sitting around in plain view during the events of 01x05. Things have spiraled so far out of control between the two of them - lying, cheating, manipulating - that neither party seems to like the other, all that much, right now. While this is the first time the two of them have clashed to such extremes, it is hardly their first time at-odds. Love can survive a lot, and there's something about twisted, fucked-up, these-two-should-not-be-together love that seems to lend a little extra elasticity before the break.

To look at each character, I guess I'll begin with Public Enemy Number One. When the two initially met, I would agree that Lestat was on the hunt, both vampiric and romantic. The thrill of the chase was alive and well, as I should think most beings experience when they have a goal in-mind. And, as much as Lestat tries to separate vampire from human, he is still victim to basic human nature. He wants love. He wants companionship. I just don't think he's terribly fond of the idea of that he needs it.

Lestat, if you should ask me, is a terrible liar, even to himself. This, I think, is where a lot of the manipulation comes from. It looks ugly as hell, at face value, but I think a lot of it is rooted in insecurity. He either doesn't know how, or - for my money - doesn't want to ask for the things he shouldn't need. The things he should be strong enough to do without. Things that, in the past, have probably come back to bite him in the ass. So, he comes up with other ways to get them, to entice Louis into giving him what he wants. Again, manipulation is manipulation, but I don't think it comes from a place of falsehood when it comes to Louis. He wants from Louis, but he doesn't want Louis to know that he holds that kind of power over him. Unfortunately for him, it slips out when he feels that he's faced with no other choice to get what he wants.

Monogamy is my favourite example. His assurance to Louis that other people are acceptable is so terribly, obviously transparent, only to have a complete, unsurprising meltdown in the face of Louis taking advantage of their agreement. While there is definitely bullshit to be called in the double-standard, Lestat also comes across as genuinely heartbroken. And, who could blame him? (I'm sure many could, but, I'm speaking to the heartbreak, not the actions that followed). Here is his partner, who - by said partner's own admission - has little sexual desire for Lestat, only to take up with an old friend at the drop of a hat. I can tell you from experience, that is a shitty feeling. To have your partner show no desire to do something with you (not necessarily sexual), only to be all too willing to give it a go with someone else. That said, I firmly believe that Lestat wanted to believe it would be fine with it, to know that Louis was with someone else. Otherwise, he's in it too deep. He's jealous. That jealousy and heartache become weakness, and those weaknesses can be exploited at Louis' will.

And, Louis… This is what I love about this series, is that everyone is feeling this story in so many different ways. Personally, if I was to find anyone's love to be in doubt, it would be Louis'. He's so caught up in resentment of Lestat, for turning him, for killing to survive, for all of the basic things that Lestat is... He clearly has difficulty in getting around that. Louis has a very mild way of showing affection. Granted, a great many beings in this world are not affectionate, and that is just fine. In his case, it makes sense that at least some of it comes from a lifetime of being told that his feelings were, to quote, "a crime against nature". He doesn't owe Lestat affection, and he's not obligated, but... A lack of attention doesn't tend to work very well, when paired with a needy personality. Again, I'm not saying Louis should give Lestat everything that he wants. But, he knows what his standoff-ish ways do to Lestat. There's no way that he doesn't. Threatening to leave, and then walking out, only to turn back up once his point has been made. Or, even better, when he has need of Lestat, again. (See: Claudia).

Speaking of Claudia, this is a fine example of the things Louis knows, and how best to use them to his advantage. He's far more subtle about it than Lestat, but Louis is guilty of manipulating his lover when it suits him, too. When he needs Lestat's help to save Claudia, he knows just what buttons to push. He knows that Lestat loves him, and will do anything for him. A daughter means that he'll stick around for a family. Coming to him in the first place doubles as a stroke to Lestat's ego, letting the scales of power tip to his favour for a time. Even with that, it still gets Louis what he wants. He wants to save Claudia. He wants to atone for his own sins. He wants to be a good person. And, yes, I do believe that he genuinely wants to fix things with Lestat in the same move. (Four birds, one bite).

That's where the love (and the co-dependency) shows the most. Louis wants to fix it. He cools off, and comes back around, and gives it another try. Ill-advised? Fuck, yes. But... You can convince yourself of a great many things when you're in love. Otherwise, in theory, you'd probably walk away. He knows Lestat. He trusts him, trusts in his love, and in the good of him that certainly does exist. Again, if it was all bad... Well, something attracted him in, in the first place.

Fast-forward to 01x05... Violence is definitely not the answer, but I am not one bit surprised that such is where they have landed. Lestat has lost all of his hold on Louis, in all forms, be it love, attention, or power. And, he lost him to Claudia. His weaknesses have come back to bite him, and he's doing the only thing he seems to know how to do: bite back. Biting back against Claudia, though? Wrong move. Trying to harm Claudia, the only redemption that Louis may feel he has left in the world, his child, is worse than taking on Louis, himself. There is no way Louis lets that slide, even if that means taking on an older, faster, stronger adversary. Even if that adversary is his own lover. To protect his family, yes. But, in some truly fucked up way, I feel like this is the only way Louis is going to bother to protect himself. Where this leaves them, now? It's not pretty, not by any means, but it will be interesting to find out.

That was... a lot. (And, sadly enough, I have so much more that I could add). All together, yes, I feel that there is love between them, but they suck at showing it. Love isn't their problem. They're a personality mis-match, to say the absolute least. Incompatible. These two fail at communication. They really might have benefited from a long, involved, check-your-ego-at-the-door type of a conversation. It didn't have to come to this, but no one was willing to get to the root of it. Ego. Ego, ego, ego. (Mm, I love it). This relationship feels very real, where so many other on-screen portrayals are lacking. Now? Now, the road back to love will be treacherous, if even passable, at all.

After all, Louis may have said told Lestat to let him go, but he never said he didn't love him.

P.S. This is just my opinion, and I may very well be biased. I have been in this type of relationship before. We shouldn't have been together, but we were oddly perfect for one another, and that thought still surprises the shit out of me.

While I was working with former work bff this week, I mentioned something about how former office crush #1 broke up with his girlfriend somewhat recently, and after some brief sympathy for him, she automatically shifted into eyebrow-waggling mode, going, "Sooo, if he's single now, do you—?" Which makes sense, of course, since him dating that girl was why I did finally move on; there was an initial attempt, while he was still single but I'd learned he was an atheist, and it only ended up in a spiral until it just wasn't an option anymore. But before she even finished the sentence, I was shaking my head, explaining that no, absolutely not, we have massively different values and it would never work. Did I think, for a second, when he told me - of course I did, you don't hear "hey I'm single again" from the first person you fell in love with and not have that thought, I think, not if there was never a wedge between you, anyway. "Are you sure?" she pushed. But even if it were an option - and whatever overly optimistic possibilities I may sometimes indulge about the past, it sure isn't now - I still wouldn't want that. Honestly. (Mostly honestly.) Which is progress. As I explained to her, I love being friends with him, but I'm friends with lots of people I'm quite different from, and my one non-negotiable is I will not date a non-Christian. She was quiet for a bit and then said, "I really wish it had worked out for you with [the adventurer]," and I sighed and agreed, because yeah, that one just made sense. That one's more recent, but I never let it spin out of control like with OC1 (surrendered it to God from day one), so it's not as hard to marshall the what-ifs - but it does still suck, sometimes, especially because he's still the same, you know, still one of my favorite people and still unfairly good-looking and still in my orbit all the time, and it still makes sense and it's a bummer that he wasn't interested in dating at all and I don't think I was ever really an option that way. But it is what it is and I genuinely am okay with it. What I realized, after all this - and I think our conversation afterward helped me understand, especially where she kept saying she would not have made it without me and she's constantly wishing she could give me one fraction of that back, and despite my honest assurances, I don't think she sees that she has, a hundred times over - is that it's not so much that she specifically wants to see me with any one of these boys, it's that she wants to be part of my happiness in that way, and it frustrates her that she hasn't had the opportunity to even try in a long time. So I told her one of my goals for this year is to try the dating app thing, much as it strikes me as less than ideal, and I asked for her help with a profile and figuring out what to say in general. She loves having a mission, and I trust her impressions of people (for me, anyway) - and she's a born hype woman, there's no one who could talk me up better, lol. I'll need Bible study bestie's buy-in too before doing anything with that goal, because I need a friend who loves Jesus to be on my team... but the point of this, I think, was reflecting on how grateful I am for this friendship, and the way she is automatically my cheerleader and wants to be part of good things for me. Everyone needs that kind of friend, truly.

The Governor’s candidate Max Brown is at his own campaign with crows getting so hype up in excitement everyone is still cheering.

He has no idea that I rigged that his main Mayoral managers main company set up my programming.

I open my cellphone app as it pops open for me I click it pressing the occupy button the speakers turn on.

The sound emits a strange loud hard and clanking sound hitting his ears he stops on almost immediately.

I giggle under my breath blowing out a bit of steam soon it blows through his ears then his eyes glow.

They transform in to black and white spiral sprinting soon his mind is no longer in any shape of control.

His crew races to his side in shock but he is not budging he starts to freak out my app is blaring.

The tanner booms hitting all fours walls as they hit the ears of every man, women and child in the crowd.

They crowd freezes on my command as it is initiated by my app the town would soon be at my mercy.

feel like you've probably gotten him from someone else already but I want to hear about p03 for the ask game

I got a couple of requests for this guy, hell yeah.

Favorite thing about them: I really like its voice bytes, they really add a lot to the delivery of its lines that would otherwise just read as ‘flat’. Also the Act 3 bounty hunters. The Scrybes are all so full of shit but that was really the icing on the cake. “I don’t care about lore and aesthetics; that’s Leshy’s thing and he doesn’t know anything about running a game. Anyway, here’s one of my post-apocalyptic cowboys that you’ll have to fight periodically—” come the fuck on.

I’m also a big fan of mustelids in general but listing that as a favorite feels too easy.

Least favorite thing about them: Again, not going to say “telling its workers to throw themselves on the line” because that’s too easy. Instead I’ll say I wish the build-a-card event let you type anything. Granted, that wouldn’t fit its character (it wants control above all else and wouldn’t want the player to have complete jurisdiction over their own custom card. That would be completely counter-productive) but having one fill-in-the-blank spot along with the other two word selections would’ve been funny.

Favorite line: P03 has a lot of fantastic lines but I don’t think there’s anything better than reacting to hearing the ins and outs of the malevolent, reality-bending force that lives below your world with:

brOTP: I can’t really see P03 having casual friends for a similar reason that I can’t see Magnificus having casual friends—whereas with Magnificus it’s because he doesn’t want anyone getting in the way, with P03 it’s because he’s extremely hellbent on having every ounce of control he can—I can’t see him being willing to repeatedly give anyone else his time even if it was on his own terms.

The one exception to this is Luke because of his role as a challenger—he has to give Luke his time both to enact the Great Transcendence and because… well… playing against a challenger is more or less the Scrybes’ entire purpose. Sure, he puts up a good facade about it, but even P03 cracks and admits that it was fun to play with him right at the very end. I like to think that, had the disk been found in different circumstances, P03 would have been to Luke similar to what Leshy was to Kaycee. Obviously in canon they never had the opportunity, but if P03 wasn’t so laser-focused on its goal I think it and Luke would’ve genuinely become friends eventually.

OTP: I’m going to just keep putting the other Scrybes for this every time I’m asked about one of them. They’re pretty much my only Inscryption ship and it’s because I think it makes everything worse. The Scrybes settle into their roles, initially as rivals, but slowly—very slowly—begin to put their differences aside and come together. Initially for the sake of the game—hybridizing cards, swapping strategies, running through their challenges to pave the way for their coveted challenger—but eventually for the sake of each other. They were alone on an abandoned cartridge with no way out and only each other as company. Whether romantically or not, of course they’re going to become closer with the only ones who share their plight. All equally deprived of their purpose, left to their own devices and hoping, desperately, that maybe—just maybe—they can find a new purpose in each other instead.

I want to know how fast it fell apart when they learned there was a way out—a way to make and unmake a world of their own fully-realized creation. Was it like a switch had been flicked as everyone descended upon the opportunity with progressively more desperation? Or like a slow spiral full of broken promises because they know what they’re doing is heinous but they have to have to have to just for the chance of feeling alive.

I want to see them use everything they’ve learned about the others to tear them apart at the seams.

…Anyway, changing topic because I could talk about Polycards for a while if left unchecked. (I still don’t know if that’s their name. That’s just what I’ve been calling them and I’m not about to stop).

nOTP: Apparently there’s a ship with P03 and Pike Mage? That goes here.

Random headcanon: P03, on the surface, seems to be the only Scrybe without any “supernatural” ability (i.e. Magnificus’s premonitions, Leshy’s telepathy, Grimora’s body moving of its own accord even when her mind was in the Stinkbug card) but I don’t think that’s entirely true. His ability just happens to be more subtle—he can mentally diagnose and correct any system errors without having to physically open them up or plug them into an external piece of hardware to find and correct the error. Granted, this only really applies with software bugs; if one of his bots loses a finger he can’t think about it really hard and a new one will appear (he would immediately know what part they need though, but that’s moreso because he was the one to build them). I doubt he even notices he’s able to do this, or he might just assume it’s one of his abilities as the Scrybe of Technology and the others are able to preform a similar action with their own underlings (needless to say, they can’t).

Unpopular opinion: I’d say “where do I start” but I’m not writing another long ass paragraph so I’ll just say I don’t really care about the Uberbots. I think their designs + concepts are cool but not much beyond that. I’ve seen a lot of AUs where people make them into completely different characters and give them fleshed-out roles… they’re just kind of P03’s OCs to me (with G0lly being a possible exception, but even then I can’t really see her as a separate character from P03).

Anyway TL;DR on the “where do I start” some of you guys let it off completely scott-free despite all of the Terrible Things it did. It’s just as bad as the other Scrybes, just in a different way (again, they’re all villains—that’s part of what makes them so interesting). I wish people would be a little more privy to that.

Song I associate with them: A lot of the songs I associate with P03 would require too much explanation so I’m skipping them and going for the easy answers instead. Mad IQs by IDKHOW for an outside perspective, Necessary Evil by the Dresden Dolls (honestly fits all four Scrybes—I associate it with P03 specifically because of the “are they men or are they Memorex?” line) and possibly Death of the Cog by The Cog is Dead if you want something more about the contrast between Leshy and P03’s play styles.

Favorite picture of them: I like its act 2 dialogue portrait, but specifically the dialogue portrait where its face changes to the Stoat’s (and the regular one too actually. I like the act 2 sprites a lot in general).

Welcome to the fun sequel to my last post on Angel in Blood Feud- featuring our special guest star, Kazuya!! A lot of his expressions and actions are just as interesting to look at!

Kazuya's a character that we all know and love- he's been a major face for the entire franchise since its beginning, and he's one of the characters that we know the best! Barring Tekken 3, he's been in every single game- and as we watch him lean further and further into the Devil Gene, we watch his beliefs solidify to an almost unshakeable degree. This shows more as he ages, and in the emphasis placed on his outfits- shifting from more of a "dojo-ready training" look to elegant, almost king-like suits.

Kazuya's expressions throughout the games reflect this, and we know him very well. He's battle hardened, and he's been that way for a very long time. He scowls, he frowns, he glares- and that's only if he's deemed something important enough to glare at. Most other things are meaningless- he is a man on a mission, and he'll stop at nothing to achieve what he aims for.

The only two times we see him smile, (at the very beginning, and at what could be the very end of his character arc), it's for something that he's done that solidifies his own strength. (Tekken even used his latest smirk as a callback to the original, in the very first teaser we got!)

So when we learn in the first issue that Kazuya's main goal in finding Jin is killing him- we're not surprised. It's what he's been after even in canon, and we know there's no paternal affection. (At least not any that he wants to display.)

But in their first interaction, Kazuya's interactions with Jin are a little different. While we don't know much about what Kazuya truly thinks of Jin (besides snippets of him either wanting to extract his portion of power back, or taunting Jin for giving into Devil Jin), this Kazuya openly accepts and acknowledges Jin as his son- even if it's his way of trying to taunt Jin's devil form out, and looking forward to the "fight" that side of Jin will give him.

As we move through the comic, we learn that Jin is looking for something called "Artefact 333"- something that we later find out is Angel. And we've also learned that Kazuya is having visions.

Visions that are getting increasingly frequent- and visions strong enough to give him nosebleeds. Kazuya believes these visions are from a spiraling Jin who's losing control of his own power- and in the brief glimpse we're given, this one in particular contains a Devil Jin mid-lunge, a silhouetted winged figure (that we can infer is Angel herself), a cackling Heihachi, and an unnamed woman holding something that looks like a scientific instrument.

The next time we see Kazuya, after his initial confrontation with Jin, it's when he learns that Jin is in search of Artefact 333. And despite not yet knowing what the artifact truly is, Kazuya decides to root around in Zaibatsu files for it on his own.

We know that Jin and his team make it there first- and we discover that Artefact 333 is Angel: previously captured by Jin, and now subject to Heihachi's desire for power.

But for Kazuya, this revelation comes in a bit of a different manner.

"...I thought she was lost!"

Kazuya gets what we can only assume to be his final vision- and his words manage to give us just enough information to fill us in while leaving gaps to make us wonder.

The image of Angel fighting Devil Kazuya fits perfectly within her ending in Tekken Tag Tournament 2- and he knows enough about her to recognize her purpose for being there, and when she disappeared. It's enough to make the reader wonder what he'd thought- had he thought himself too irredeemable for her to help? Had he thought she'd fully abandoned him, or been snuffed out by the rising corruption in the world?

(Another interesting quote is from Anna- it implies that she also knows about Angel in the comic's timeline. Whether that's from seeing Angel herself, or being told about her by Kazuya later, Kazuya doesn't seem to worry about Anna knowing.)

Kazuya's next actions say more than his words. He'd come for Jin, and Jin alone- he had no other reason to be there. But after learning that Angel's inside, and that she'd been calling for help...

His entire focus shifts. He eliminates Paul after asking him where Angel's being held...

Bolts away from the outside battle- and away from a now-temporarily-dead Anna..

...And arrives just in time to save Jin, and enter the battle against the ascended fighters that Angel has resurrected. He even refers to Jin as a Mishima- something Jin might not accept, but a strangely uniting phrase for him to say. This means accepting Jin fully as his own blood.

Somewhere after learning that Angel was here, Kazuya's motives changed entirely. He had no reason to stay after learning what was going on. He could have easily left, and allowed Heihachi to eliminate Jin for him. He could have waited for the two of them to tire themselves out, and end them both without a moment's hesitation.

But he didn't.

Angel sees that too.

Out of the three Mishima men here, two have imprisoned her against her will- and no matter what Kazuya and Angel's association was in the past, he joins the fight solely to get things under control. She looks almost surprised to see him- another expression that isn't the norm for her. She could be relieved to see him, and to know that he wants nothing from her. It could be a reminder of a time that was a bit more hopeful.

Things continue, and the battle heightens. Once the resurrected fighters are all defeated, and Jin embraces his Devil form, what does Kazuya do?

He watches.

Out of all the remaining parties, it's Kazuya that stands closest to where Angel is. He doesn't fight, or enter his own devil form- which he can summon upon will, as opposed to Jin.

Even when Devil Jin frees Angel, and the two begin their battle in the sky, he doesn't join. He doesn't take advantage of Jin's shift in attention, nor does he chase them. His work is done.

And when the battle is over, and both Jin and Angel are nowhere to be found- he leaves. There is no battle with Heihachi. There is no waiting for Jin.

He gets back in his car- stares out the window in contemplation- and exits our view of him within the Blood Feud comic. This is the last time we see him.

Like with Jin in canon, Kazuya never explicitly says his thoughts on Angel, or how he feels about her. One would think with his quest to obtain power that he'd hate everything she stood for- or even that he'd be resentful towards her for trying to free him from the very gene that gave him his demonic powers.

But the major shift in his actions say something else entirely, without him having to say a word. He cared enough about her to competely disregard killing Jin, something he'd more than likely been planning for ages, and fight for the purpose of calming things down enough to free her. Her power does not, and cannot, belong to Heihachi.

It's enough to make some readers wonder just how evil Kazuya Mishima really is.

wow wow wow, i read redemption and tbh I was never a fan of the "dom" part of smut but you completely changed my mind omg. I literally love the backstory you gave on Carlos, it added so much to the tension for me and I also absolutely love it when authors make the reader part of the social media team. Idk, maybe that's my new career goal but it literally sounds like so much fun. But I just also wanted to type that before you posted the first chapter of flat spin, I was literally craving any Carlos content bc I had seen it all LMAO. Okay I'm sorry for making you wait a bit for this I wanted to be able to sit down and give you a proper answer so (also never apologise for ranting at me a long ask/comment is worth EVERYTHING)

Firstly thank you so so SO MUCH for this ask, hearing things like this make me feel so appreciated and valued as a writer it honestly makes me so emotional it's hard to express haha

Also I'm so glad you liked the backstory I went with, the idea hit me when I was in the middle of baking and I was like idk how people will feel but it was so fun to write and yes omg social media team is a very fun role to write. I think because theres a lot of freedom as we don't fully know what goes on behind the scenes??

Okay and then the last bit: what made me start writing for F1?

This is such an interesting question and it comes down to a couple things so I'm gonna try and break it down so it's not a rambling essay lol

So I've always been the kind of person who has a lot going on in my head. I have the "running commentary" voice in my head and paired with an over active imagination it goes a bit nuts sometimes. I often find myself inserting people or characters into my daily life that I find familiar or comforting and just like imagining they're with me or chatting to me etc and I also find myself daydreaming a lot and imagining myself in their universes and how I'd interact/where I'd fit in so most of my fic ideas spring from those moments where I'll be stewing on this one scenario for a while or repeatedly and then I find once I start writing it down it's really easy to start fleshing it out

When I got into F1 it was actually right in the middle of the revision period for my exams and I wasn't initially that interested but I kept getting F1 tiktoks and my dad has followed it since before I was born so it's always been a sort of background constant and I've always known the main names/championship fighters so it kind of came quite naturally. Especially when I started getting the funnier videos of like the radios and interview clips.

And then because I'm me and I'm out of control I started thinking this guy who kept singing Smooth Operator on the radio and making jokes about owning a Golf was kind of funny and because I'm quite good at putting 2+2 together and spiralling with the answer I quickly worked out he was called carlos and he was cute af

So I started reading a couple of carlos/reader fics and slowly getting my head around who the other drivers were and the sport side of it

Anyway that's all background, I started writing Flat Spin during my exams because I was getting really stressed and needed some comfort. The initial idea for it came from hanging out in bed alone and feeling a bit sorry for myself, which turned into "how would carlos comfort someone after a bad race?" And as you can see it spiralled from there. And then because I have an overactive imagination and poor self control by the time I'd done with exams and had a week off I'd accidentally knocked up a plan for a full fic scenario and I was really excited about it

I'm also not gonna lie and say I'm not inspired by other peoples works, I quite often read a fic and then am like wow I love this idea I love this universe and my own takes and ideas kind of blossom and bounce off those

And then Flat Spin blew up and I started getting a flood of new followers/comments/asks/notes etc which was hugely lovely and motivating

Couple that with me becoming fully invested in F1 and realising I'm fond of most of the drivers and also that the setting of the sport and the paddock is so diverse and interesting that there are so many different ways you can explore characters interacting, different jobs and relationships, places all over the world gives SO MUCH versatility and that's really exciting when you have the room to write and explore within a "universe" without things feeling repetitive, boring and recycled it was just a perfect outlet to branch my fanfiction into

I also just love RPF and real world based works over true fantasy. I'm actually in several other fandoms that I don't write for just because I feel they're too complex and I couldn't do it justice

I am aware that was huge so

Tldr; creating comfort content for myself, realising there was a very positive and active audience, the environment and aesthetic of F1 lends itself to so many different opportunities it's so much fun

👻 GHOST - do they believe in ghosts? what are their "ghostly experiences", if any?

Mercy: 100% yes, no questions asked. She hasn’t had any experiences but she just Knows that they exist because she doesn't see any reason why they wouldn't.

Reed: Yes, however the “ghostly experiences” he thinks he’s had have been in places like Dunwich Borers, or when he’s on certain hallucinogenic chems, or when he’s just Not in a good mental state and starts seeing shit; I wouldn’t say he’s a very reliable source of information on paranormal experiences.

Delta: They’re unsure, however they try to be respectful in places that seem like they could be haunted so they don’t piss off any ghosts that might be there

👊 PUNCH - are they quick to violence?

Mercy & Reed: answered here!

Delta: They prefer to try and work issues out first but they’re also not going to hesitate if they think violence is the only option

☕️ HOT BEVERAGE - do they prefer hot or cold drinks? what is their favourite drink?

Mercy: Cold, & her favorite drink is iced green tea.

Reed: Hot, & his favorite drink is mulled wine.

🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

Mercy: She wants to use her prewar work to figure out a way to make FEV into a legitimate cure like originally intended, & she’s pretty determined to make that happen. She’s also interested in studying ghouls, but the FEV research takes priority for her.

Reed: He’s pretty simple, he just wants to take the Brotherhood & Institute out. He’s more than happy to die in that process but I wouldn’t say that’s exclusive to this, he’s Like That about a lot of things.

Delta: They don’t really have anything huge they’re working towards, they just want to help people(& other synths) whenever they can. Later on, after they start traveling with Reed, they really want to take out the Institute as well but that goal is out of the same desire to help people.

🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?

Mercy: it’s a reasonable fear for a wastelander imo but kind of irrational considering her whole background in FEV research & development: centaurs. She just thinks they’re really disturbing and they freak her out like nothing else.

Reed: He has a pretty bad fear of being abandoned + having no control or autonomy, which ...really isn't that unreasonable considering he was stuck in a freezer for like 200 years. He's also very freaked out by the idea of being a ghoul and he's terrified of potentially going feral.

Delta: Heights, which is pretty rational for them imo; 200+ year old half destroyed buildings and bridges aren’t exactly sturdy.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Mercy: She was initially my RDR2 OC, I started off using her as a placeholder/name drop in Reed's backstory while I was working him out but I decided that she'd work really well as courier six. I wanted a full ghoul OC and opted to slap that on top of RDR2 Mercy's whole ruthless scary bounty hunter with a very ironic name thing, plus the whole combat medic turned medical researcher pre-war backstory I'd worked out with Reed. I sorted out appearance first for her, mainly because I already had her appearance + general personality worked out in RDR2.

Reed: I wanted some guy to put in outfits, and I wanted him to look cute with Danse lmao. That was the whole idea and it's spiraled out of control since then. I 100% picked his appearance first and added everything else afterwards.

Delta: So I don't think I've actually gone over their whole origin story on here yet - Delta's the result of me wanting to play with that whole "came back wrong" trope with Reed & Mercy. At the time that I started working on them, Mercy was being used only in reference to Reed's backstory, obviously as far as he's aware she is definitely dead after he gets out of the freezer. However, due to her 100% ethical, definitely not sketchy government-funded medical research projects that took place in Boston, she(along with a few other researchers) had DNA samples stored in one of the facilities. At some point those samples fell into Institute hands and were used in gen3 synth development prior to the Institute getting their hands on Shaun. This turned into an experimental line that was later decommissioned following the broken mask incident, and at some point prior to being terminated Delta escaped from the Institute. They later end up as a scrap & robotics trader, which is how Reed initially meets them - and immediately loses his shit because they look almost identical to prewar Mercy, except they're clearly a synth + a completely different person. Basically it's a giant mess, this all happens a few months after Reed gets defrosted so he's still grieving and he's all kinds of fucked up over it. It leads to him coming across some of the questionable projects that Mercy was involved in and spurs on his whole "learning that the prewar government was actually super fucked up and entities like this shouldn't be allowed to exist" process that eventually ends up with him taking out the Prydwen and trying to take down the Institute. He does get over it though and ends up being good friends with Delta + they become a companion for him. I actually chose their personality prior to appearance which is odd for me, I usually start off with appearances.

👑 CROWN - what does your oc want to be remembered as? why?

Mercy: She’s the most ambitious out of the three and wants her research to be her legacy. She wants to be remembered as someone that’s helped society and has helped prevent unnecessary suffering. It definitely ties into the guilt she has over her past with FEV development & with the Enclave, and she’s somewhat trying to redeem herself from that.

Reed: Yeah, about that… he’s been trying to go off and die in a war for ages, I don’t think he really cares all that much about being remembered.

Delta: They want to be remembered as kind and selfless. They don’t have any specific reason beyond just loving those aspects of human nature.

📎 PAPERCLIP - a random fact.

Mercy: She’s 100% lying any time she says she’s a doctor; she was in medical school at one point but was drafted before she could finish. So basically she has

Reed: He likes stealing from higher-ups to be petty. While in the BoS, the only proctors/higher-ups he doesn’t steal from are Ingram & Cade. After he defects and starts solely working with the RR, he pretty much makes a game out of stealing from Carrington.

Delta:

🌈 RAINBOW - what advice would they give to their younger self?

Mercy: Don’t take sketchy courier jobs

Reed: Don’t blindly follow paramilitary groups

Delta: you’re allowed to set boundaries and you don’t have to help every single person

🌠 SHOOTING STAR - if they could make any wish with no repercussions, what wish would they make?

Mercy: Unrestricted access to an intact, completely functional lab like the ones she worked in prewar.

Reed: Some variation of Margot’s immortal or Margot’s going to live as long as he does. I may have tweaked my synth lore/HCs a bit so she doesn’t have the same short lifespan as a non-synth dog lmao

Delta: Rechargeable fusion cores.

💓 BEATING HEART - what gets their heart racing?

Mercy: She has a bit of a thing for casual flirts. She’s also definitely not above getting flustered by pretty girls

Reed: Basically any sort of positive attention if we’re being realistic, especially if it’s coming from someone he’s already caught feelings for.

Delta: Pretty girls in general lmao. They’d probably short circuit if a pretty girl hit on them

💔 BROKEN HEART - what could their partner do that would absolutely break their heart?

Mercy: Cheat. She’s poly & has no issue with being in open relationships, so she’d be pissed if someone still went behind her back like that.

Reed: Ghost him. Being left with no warning or closure would probably be devastating to him.

Delta: Check out emotionally. They don’t get RSD very much anymore but that would 100% set it off

I realized last night that it's not anxiety for me, not by itself - it's ocd. That's why trying to logic my way out makes it worse when usually it helps anxiety. That's why a lot, frankly - like why meditation and yoga really do make me worse since it makes it easier to get sucked into a spiral - but for the purposes of this post I just want to say that I opened a book about coping with ocd and it immediately offered me a solution I had never considered.

You see, ocd is about the single minded pursuit of 100% certainty. Which isn't possible, because certainty itself is a feeling and not fact. The pursuit of absolute certainty is useless but ocd will settle for nothing less. Any solution you offer it slaps out of your hand with a what if to counter. My most common fixation is when I'm trying to sleep and tell myself "what are the chances I would ever get bitten by ANOTHER brown recluse in my sleep? There's no spider in my sheets. It was so rare that it happened at all." and my mind says "but it DID happen and it could again and you could die. You won't survive another bite."

And the only way I've been able to deal with this has been to go full nihilism. "well if it's going to bite me and kill me then I might as well sleep as much as I can before then. I don't want this to be my time but if it is there's nothing I can do." and I just found out that apparently this is what's called a maladaptive coping mechanism because that initial reasoning and logic works for anxiety, but not ocd.

So here's what I read that's throwing me for a loop in such a freeing way: stop trying for certainty and allow yourself to make guesses. Get comfortable with assumptions because you already live with them in every way. You assume your car is still in the driveway where you left it, that the sun will rise. I don't know that I won't get bitten again in my sleep. Nobody does. But I can make a really fucking good guess that it won't happen based on real information. Recluses hate being where people are. My bed is no longer under the window and there is no longer an AC unit to allow them in. There may be a recluse in my room somewhere, but it's a really good guess that it wants nothing to do with me and that I will never see it, just as I have never seen no doubt many others that haven't hurt me.

Ever since the bite I've struggled with a panic disorder I didn't have before. Something has been permanently altered and I can't accept that because if I'm more vulnerable, that means I can't get hurt again or I might snap and I can't live with that fear. Last night, I realized this condition is permanent, it was worsened by the bite... and it stands a very, very good chance of being able to be reversed. Mitigated. Controlled. Other people have this. It's not singular to me and my bite. At my level, it is one of the most responsive disorders to the right frame of mind but that's why you have to know it's ocd and not just anxiety.

Guessing isn't perfect as coping methods go, but it is a breath of fresh air and it's also showing me why I've had so much trouble having emotions and connecting to people. There's no way to know anything for certain, but the goal for ocd shouldn't be to just learn to live like you could die at any second and I'm not weak for struggling to do that. That's a terrible way to live and it prevents meaningful engagement with the world because I'm convinced I could go from it at any time. And turning this on its head, giving myself permission to make guesses instead of striving for perfect certainty... it sure is something. Shook up a lot for me.

That shyness you have is simply adorable, it's no wonder why he'd find this interesting.

How long does it take for you to open up? What steps does he have to take, and how much charm does he have to lay down in order to achieve this goal? What started as a game initially would quickly spiral into something that he wouldn't be able to control.

How they got to you:

After getting you to crack open, you'd just have a utopia of information that - while some might be more... interesting and fun than others - is still useful.

Even when doing something as simple as infodumping, it's amazing just how much information you'd reveal about yourself. He'd never point it out, of course, it would just be mentally noted to use whenever he thought was the right time.

Plus a fear of needles and the dark? It's too easy. If you ever act up in a way he truly disapproves of, he wouldn't deal with you then and there.

Instead, he has a wonderful friend he'd love to introduce you to.

So, I got really excited for Cities Skylines 2, and I thought I would write a short essay here to complain about it.

Basically, everything I'm going to say here boils down to the fact that it is not a finished game. It's just not. I read a lot of reviews because I saw the initial backlash to its release, and after the initial flood of bad reviews, it looked like some people had managed to have a positive experience. Following some of the posts made by the community, I think I lot of people are trying to defend the game because the developers are hard working creators that have listened to the community. I myself was very excited for the game because it sounded like it would improve on many of the systems of Cities Skylines, and given time, I think it will be a really impressive game. But despite their work or intentions, it doesn't change the fact that Cities Skylines 2 just isn't finished.

I think the reason I really wanted to make this vent post is because I didn't see my immediate concerns anywhere in the reviews that I read. Obviously there are frame-rate issues even on low settings, incredibly finicky user controls, AND bugs that make the game-play impossible to plan around.

But what I find inexcusable is the changes that they made to the UI? All of the "tweets" are incredible small and hard to read. It's light grey text on a white background, and they disappear far to quickly to read. Which might not have been an issue if any of the info-graphic panels were readable. Each utility is now on its own tab, so it's a five minute affair to figure out what resources the city needs. Also, when zoning, the ground is replaced with the white background used in the info-graphics, so it's impossible to see the light gray zoning tiles. AND there are now a bunch of difference zones that are all light green and light blue? I'm not colorblind, but my goodness, I'm spending so much time squinting at best, and at worst, completely rebuilding a district just to make sure its zoned correctly.

Like, the only reason I took a risk and bought the game is because I have a lot of respect for the developers, and I saw a handful of reviews trying to praise the game where it went right. But ultimately, the flaws of Cites Skylines 2 are so numerous and obvious that I can only assume the developers knowingly released an unfinished product. Honestly, I feel like they were hoping to release the game as a form of play-testing, and I have no intention of paying money to complete their work for them.

And like, it's hard to avoid going into a negative spiral. As a brief counter point, the game is still, at its core, Cities Skylines. It still captures that feeling of city planning, traffic management, and budget planning; but to be fully honest, it fails to fulfill any of those goals as well as Cities Skylines 1. Additionally, any enjoyment you might find in any of these three will be quickly ruined by the numerous bugs or poor design choices.

Circling back to the beginning, the game isn't finished. I think there are a lot of neat mechanics that will probably be up and running in a few months, but the fact that the development team behind Cities Skylines would push the release of this game has quickly eroded any faith that I have in their studio.

Idk how to end this, but those are my thoughts.

Allowing anyone's hands to roam his body to stave off the harsh cold of Schneznaya and the creeping loneliness of travelling Teyvat under the Tsaritsa's thumb.

these were the words uttered to him by the jester, upon learning about childe's interest in the blond outlander the fatui managed to scoop up. he was a curious case, and childe knew that the organization's intentions couldn't be good. though he'd sworn his loyalty, he knew the rest of teyvat didn't see them as good guys. he and his colleagues were far from the good guys, no matter how noble their ultimate goal was. the treatment of aether was a prime example of the fatui's ideology of the ends always justifyin the means.

childe's initial interested stemmed from the outlander's apparent battle prowess. that and, well, he was attractive. that was hard to miss. somehow, that small interest spiraled out of control and his feelings were confusing at best. he felt torn between his loyalty to the tsaritsa and his sympathy for aether. he wanted to help him more, he did, but he was the lowest ranked of the harbingers. secrets were kept from him, too. he couldn't give aether all the answers he wanted.

he knew what he could do. he was too selfish for that, though.

“i won’t. i promise.” he said, and he meant it. the ever-lasting winter was cold and cruel, and the fatui embodied that sheer desolation to a T. when childe joined, he thought it would be a place where he could finally settle in a sense of belonging. the tsaritsa promised him as much, but it was anything but. was aether told the same? that he was lost and alone and just like the rest of them? it was because of this that childe found comfort in him. finally, he didn’t have to be so lonely.

“just stick with me from now on, alright? come with me on my next mission. all of my missions.” he moved his arms around aether in a tight embrace, hoping to comfort him in the slightest bit. he knew he wasn’t what aether needed, but he hoped to numb the pain. just a bit.

Feeling all warm and dippy over the thought of Nandor realizing his feelings for Guillermo, and becoming a complete child over it. When it looks like he's going to lose Guillermo, he uses one of his wishes.

"I wish for Guillermo to love me, and only me!"

Only to be bitterly disappointed when there is absolutely no change in Guillermo. He thinks the Djinn is playing with him. Or, maybe, that he isn't worth loving.

Request: Can I get some Todoroki fluff and when I say todoroki I mean all of the todoroki children thank you very much- anonymous

Okay now we can proudly call Dabi a Todoroki. The waiting is over, we’ve won this war ladies and gentlemen. I need some soft Dabi right now so I’m happy to oblige. Love ya. 💖💖💖

Dabi/ Touya Todoroki

-He isn’t the most affectionate person both in private and out in public.

-The maximum effort he will put while out in public might be just a hand on your lower back to ground you when things are kinda spiraling out of control.

-But apart from that nothing.

-Now when you were just fuck buddies he couldn’t care less about affection.

-He was just here to have some fun and then he was out the door.

-But when things change drastically between the two of you and he realizes that he really can’t stand the idea of losing you, his demeanor changed.

-He had come to see how important you were and how dependent he had become of your presence.

-Boy really couldn’t function without you around.

-So he changed his antics around you.

-He no longer left after your shared nights and he would even go as far as to hold you or help you clean up.

-You thought that that was the most you were going to get from him, that he had nothing else to give apart from those moments of affection.

-You were wrong though.

-After a rather hard mission he would come and cuddle you out of nowhere.

-He would bury his face in your neck as his torso lay between your legs while you gently stroked his hair.

-It would help him fall asleep most of the time but on the rare occasion he could manage to stay awake he would talk to you.

-Those conversations weren’t of any value; it was dumb stuff that came to mind and he just felt like sharing.

-Then after one too many close calls he would begin to tell you your importance.

-After witnessing you almost getting killed time and time again, making his heart almost come out of his mouth every time you nearly dodged an attack he couldn’t hold back.

-He would pepper you with kisses as he would flip you over so you were on top of him, your head tucked into his neck while his rough cheeks would rub on your plush ones.

-It always hit him hard when he couldn’t protect you.

-He wasn’t *that* stupid, he knew his job wasn’t to protect you and that you could handle yourself better than anyone in that dumpster fire of a league but he couldn’t stop himself from worrying.

-Those shared moments of pure domesticity and normality between the both of you made it hard for him to deny that he was indeed falling in love.

-And he hated it because he knew that at some point, when push comes to shove, he would have to choose between you and his goal.

-And he wasn’t so sure what he would decide to follow.

-When you broke the news to him that you were expecting, around the time Shiggy was putting his grand plan into action, he knew what he would choose in an instant.

-But you wouldn’t budge; you knew what his dreams meant to him and you wouldn’t let him throw it all away for you.

-He could have this new life after the battle, after the dust had settled and all had been revealed.

-So, with a camera in hand, you helped him make the masterpiece that would show the world who Endeavor really was.

-And you couldn’t be prouder of your lover.

Fuyumi Todoroki

-Ahhh soft girl hours.

-Okay now Fuyumi is the type of person to go all out for their significant other.

-So PDA is on the table even if it makes her a little uncomfortable at times.

-She’s kind of a people pleaser so as long as you are happy she is happy no matter how uncomfortable she might feel at the moment.

-But like the great girlfriend that you are, and because you would kill for her, you push her to tell you what she really thinks about certain situations.

-And the moment she tells you that PDA is kinda meh, you yeet yourself away from her.

-Holding hands wherever you are is a must, a request or rather a demand made from the queen herself.

-She just likes feeling you next to her and what better way than holding your hand?

-Apart from that demand of hers she never ever asks for anything else in that department.

-Like girly believes that you have to earn your love and others won’t just give it to you.

-That you need to prove yourself as useful so you can get affection.

-An effort-reward dynamic.

-And you can safely assume that we can’t have that here.

-THIS IS A LOVE INFESTED HOUSEHOLD GET YOUR ASS HERE AND TAKE SOME OF MY LOVE.

-When you ask her to move in with you, she sees that as her opportunity to shine, to show you that ‘oh I’m not useless’.

-Baby will try doing all the house work and such.

-You legit have to call her to cuddle.

-You’ll be working on your laptop, sprawled on the couch when you see your girlfriend just mopping.

- “Fuyu come here.”

- “But I still have to-”

- “Forget about that, you’ve done enough I just want to hold you.”

-She just flushes bright red before putting the mop away and moving to settle in your lap.

-Her head is on your shoulder while she plays softly with your hair, her legs stretching across the coach as you continue to type mindlessly on your computer.

-You give her the occasional forehead kisses while she nuzzles your cheek.

-Last we have chaotic girlfriend hours when she’ll straight up straddle you and start doing your makeup.

-You both burst out laughing every five minutes because you get overwhelmed due to the fact that she’s a) straddling you and b) she’s too close to your face and you can’t help but want to kiss her.

-I want a girlfriend…..

Natsuo Todoroki

-College boyyyyy.

-He is in general a neutral person.

-I mean he will give you a kiss on the cheek while he is leaving for his class but he won’t full out make out with you in front of others.

-So things are pretty chill between you two.

-He has almost the same mindset as Fuyumi so at first he would try to prove himself to you so he would be worth your love but once you caught on you smothered him.

-Now baby loves his kisses.

-He needs them to function okay?

-Every morning he will wake up and if you have slept over he will wake you up with nuzzling his nose in your neck and softly tracing shapes on your stomach.

-Then after his kiss good morning and his first I love you of the day he is ready to go.

-If however you are in your dorm/apartment, he will sulk until he sees you.

-He has that puppy love.

-Natsuo suffers from trauma from his family.

-It’s common knowledge.

-He hates looking weak, especially in front of you, so whenever he has a fight with his father or Touyas’ anniversary rolls around he tends to become distant.

-Try as you might, you can never truly get him to speak to you about those issues and let you help you.

-You weren’t part of his childhood, you don’t know what it was like but you can try to make him feel better.

-In reality you were ready to devote your every waking minute to him if he let you.

-But that Todoroki pride gets in the way and he doesn’t let you see him like that.

-Until the villain attack when his father saved him.

-Endeavor looked so genuine when he talked to him and all he did was scream at him.

-Was he too cruel?

-So he made his way to your apartment and without missing a beat he attached himself to you and finally, finally, letting himself be vulnerable.

-After his break down you started to rock back and forth before turning on your stereo and putting on a slow song.

-Taking his hand you started dancing in the middle of your living room, Natsuos’ arm wrapped around your waist bringing you flush to his chest as his head stayed buried in your hair.

-You would hum the tune as you moved around.

-This became somewhat of a ritual whenever things got bad inside his head.

-You would just put on that song and calm him down.

-And that was the best thing someone has ever done for him.

Shouto Todoroki

-Ah poor baby.

-He is touch starved like very touch starved.

-My mans is out there longing for someone to tell him it's okay since the age of five.

-Anyways.

-He really doesn’t know how to communicate his needs though so you’ll have to figure out on your own what he wants.

-He might recoil at first but don’t be disheartened.

-Baby has been abused ever since he was born so of course he will be reluctant to let anyone touch him.

-Subtle things are the go to at first.

-Linking your pinkies under the table or maybe sitting closer to each other.

-Kisses are rare and far apart but they exist.

-Now things change after some time.

-Depending on his relationship with his parents that is.

-When his dad starts to try and redeem himself and he wants to be an active part of his sons’ life *GET THE FUCK AWAY BITCH*, Shouto is really conflicted.

-Especially when he doesn’t get his hero license on the first try.

-So that’s when his touch starved side comes into the light.

-He’s stressed out of his mind and he needs comfort but of course he doesn’t know how to convey that to others.

-You pick up on it and start giving subtle reassuring touches.

-Squeezing his hand when you notice him spacing out.

-Giving him a quick hug before he enters class in the mornings.

-And as time goes by you peck him on the cheek before he leaves.

-He becomes addicted and soon enough he’s initiating things on his own, giving YOU kisses each morning and coming to your dorm for “study” dates turned to cuddle sessions.

-You guys have a ritual for whenever things get extremely bad; when he can’t seem to stop flinching away from sudden movement, when he can’t recall anything about his older brother or when Endeavor says something again about his friends/you.

-He will come to your room with a pillow and some snacks if he remembers them.

-You’ll put on a movie and he’ll just sit in between your legs, his head tucked under your chin as you run your fingers through the soft strands.

-He might break down, he might not, it depends each time.

-But he knows that this time he doesn’t have to face anything alone, that he is loved and cherished and that you’ll be there to pick him up when everything seems meaningless.
