While I am definitely a supporter of “they shared the bed” in the Hateno house
I just know for a fact it didn’t happen instantly… instead Link would take power naps whenever Zelda worked with the kids or in her study. He can go a long time without sleeping and is more than willing to sacrifice the bed so Zelda can actually get rest. She protests at first but admittedly does understand she just fought Ganon back for a century. She needs actual sleep.
Instead, it gradually became evident that the longer Zelda was back, the more and more the trauma from the Great Calamity and the fight with Ganon presented itself. It was a slow overtake of her mind, the exhaustion and shock from it all numbing her until she began to accept the reality that she was safe. Link was safe. Hyrule was saved.
And with her guard lowered, the fear, sadness, and anger came back in the forms of internal warfare. Her rest was disturbed by nightmares, her magic completely sapped from her being. She had nothing to defend herself from it.
Well… not nothing. She had Link.
And in these weeks of getting to know each other again, of finding the Link post-Shrine of Resurrection much more open with his emotions, she knows her faith in him has never faltered. And that is how she knows she is still safe.
And it takes time to come to that level of comfort and genuine vulnerability, more because of their own individual traumas than their relationship. And that’s when they realize everything is a little bit easier when they’re in each other’s arms. The nightmares become blissful sleep, fragments of dreams comforting them, but not as much as the serenity being so close with the other brings.
It was a tentative, shy question at first. “Will you come to bed with me?” “I just can’t seem to sleep very well and I know if I’m with you, I’m safe.”
And the answer was always going to be yes. It didn’t make sense not to. Link would do anything and everything to keep Zelda safe and happy, so peaceful sleep was definitely included.
And that’s how they found themselves healing together. And it was ridiculously easy to share a bed and just sleep. To rest. To know they were doing good work all over Hyrule and still finding the time to make a home for themselves. To be that home for each other. That peace.

Ive mentioned this before on my other blog, but everytime I think about it, it astonishes me how much Arcane feels like it successfully pulled off what Hazbin Hotel was trying to do. You got:
Lesbian lead couple that have amazing chemistry despite their different backgrounds and personalities? Arcane did it better than Hazbin
Male characters that are fleshed out enough to have their own narratives but don't overshadow the female leads and instead support their plotlines? Arcane did that better than Hazbin
Diverse character designs that tell you so much about each character and helps them stand out from one another? Arcane did that better than Hazbin
An accurate portrayal of social hierarchy and how even if those in elite positions genuinely care about every person, they still may be blinded by their own privilege? Hazbin barely had that but Arcane did that better than Helluva Boss
Building conflict between two nations where one abuses their power over the other and the lower nation is ready to rise up and start a war for their equality? Arcane did that better than Hazbin
Fast paced plot that tells multiple nuanced stories in a single digit amount of episodes but everything still feels comprehensive and realistic? Arcane did that better than Hazbin
Overarching themes of parenthood without feeling like the show is telling the same story again and again? Arcane did that better than Hazbin and Helluva Boss
Both have gorgeous animation and wonderful musical segments and this one is more debatable than the others, but I feel like Arcane uses their animation and soundtrack much better as a way to tell their story while Hazbin uses it more for style than for adding to or progressing the plot (but obviously both shows use it for both plot and style simultaneously)
I don't feel qualified to talk about their portrayals of trauma, especially when it comes to Angel Dust and Jinx, but I'd love to hear from someone with more experience than me how these two shows compare in that department and in regards to making fictional trauma feel realistic without glamorizing it or only showing it for the sake of being edgy

HEY LOVELIES GUESS WHO CAME UP WITH MORE SILLINESS WHILE PLAYING ZELDA GAMES
SO. Y'all remember how Blood of the Hero stemmed from me replaying BotW and wanting to spice up the story? Fun fact about me, I can't replay a game without creating a new storyline for it in my head. So Blood of the Hero came about because I wanted to replay BotW and change the stakes, change the gameplay, change the order of things, etc. I love exploring how you can complete the game differently!
I decided to replay TotK.
But I wanted to do it differently. I wanted to avoid the main quest, build up hearts/stamina and complete the side quests because frankly they're the best part of the game to me. So I was like "how do I complete the game without getting the sages or the dragon tears?" I was puzzling over what new story I could create just for my own amusement to help me complete the game like this, and it hit me.
It's freaking Mystery Link. Who else would avoid the Main Plotline like the plague? That man can smell Destiny's Call from a mile away and Noped right out of there.
It just--it fits so perfectly and now I am having an absolute blast. Becuase I had to come up with logical reasons why the game mechanics are the way they are for Mystery Link, so why is he almost naked at the beginning? It's because he was washing his one (1) set of clothes in the river and got distracted by Friend, so then his clothes washed down the river and off a waterfall and he never found them so now he's running around in his underwear.
And this poor man. Is trying so hard. To get some clothes. But he went to Kakariko and the clothing shop is overpriced because the owner's grandma is sick, and he feels for her plight but he can't afford these prices. So off in his underwear he goes. But wait! Hateno! Fashion central! Surely they have clothes! He goes there, and has to stand around and listen to fashion people argue over tickets to get inside, and eventually when they give up he gets the solitary ticket, and--
Sophie: Oh, well since you're the only customer now, you can enter. :) Mystery: THANK HYLIA, I can finally get some-- Sophie: It's only an exhibition, but Cece herself is-- Mystery: ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME
The best part is that the first set of clothes Mystery and I could find was the barbarian top, and y'all, he was so annoyed.
Mystery, finding a big shiny treasure chest: :D Mystery, realizing there are clothes inside: !!!!! :D :D :D Mystery, realizing it's a glorified leather strap and a pelt to wear as a miniskirt: WHY
I am having so much fun. Also, fun fact, trying to complete this game without a paraglider is hellish but Mystery Link and I are accepting the challenge.

Zelda chose a shield rather than a heart or a gem. I was still too young to read or understand why, but her decision moved me more than words ever could
