Hi! You know, I wish I could help here, but tbh I really dislike the historical fiction genre, it was never my cup of tea and it became even less so when I started reading fiction about the Borgia family lol, soo as far as they are concerned, I never found one which was well researched, sadly. There's Fuyumi Soryo manga about Cesare, but they are not finishing the story unfortunately, and then there's Bower's Sins of the House of Borgia that back when I read it, I thought it was somewhat decent when it came to Lucrezia's overall characterization. It's a realistic one that draws the closest to me to the irl one, (minus all the inc*st business, of course) but it's not so good with the rest of the family. And there's another one which I found Cesare and Rodrigo's characterization were ok-ish, and it was the most fun I had reading a fictional book about them, even though the main character is insupportable, but my memory is failling me rn with the name of the book, so sorry :(((( but I'm sure there's something about in my house borgia in fiction tag. As for other historical fiction, one I can say I liked, but I can't be as sure as I am with the Borgia family over well researched is Queen of Trial and Sorrow by Susan Appleyard, about Elizabeth Woodville and her relationship with King Edward IV.

I wish we had more female characters like Eleanor Shellstrop. One of the most unlikable people you've ever met. Read a Buzzfeed article on most rude things you can do on a daily basis and decided to use that as a list of goals. Makes everyone's day worse just by being there. Dropped a margarita mix on the ground and tried to pick it up, only to get hit by a row of shopping carts which pushed her into the road where she was hit by a boner pill delivery truck, killing her instantly. Cannot keep a romantic partner despite being bisexual. Had a terrible childhood but will die before she gets therapy. Best employee at a scam company. Just the worst but also can't help but root for her to improve.

Absolute loser. Girl-failure. Bad at almost everything. Literally perfect female character.

I just think that 'animals are living intelligent creatures that have feelings and deserve to be respected' and 'when done properly farming is beneficial to both people and animals and there's nothing wrong with raising and killing animals for food, clothing, and other products' are concepts that very much can and should coexist

#i think a lot of people get too carried away in farming discourse to actually remember both of these things #some people are so aggressively anti-farming that they forget that meat and fur are necessary for some people #and that farming helps prevent overhunting of certain species #but some people are so aggressively pro-farming that they begin to think of animals as objects #that only exist to provide them with a product #animals deserve to be treated with respect and be given the best care possible while they're alive #but that doesn't mean that its a bad thing for them to die
