I can’t believe I went through all of Season 2 assuming Nina was the stand-in for Crowley when you actually pay attention it’s so CLEAR that she’s Aziraphale. I was tricked by her spiky, sarcastic, cynical outer shell and lulled into a false sense of security by Maggie’s bubbly optimism and wholesome goodness, because on the surface they reflect the ineffable husbands perfectly, in their personalities, their aesthetics, even many of their actions and morals. but not, and this is the real key, when it comes to their “relationship”. but those first impressions really had me damn fooled. 

I missed the blatantness of Nina’s “we’re just friends. actually we’re not friends. we barely know each other.” the same thing Aziraphale said in season 1.  the way he still struggles to quantify their friendship when Nina asks. Nina’s sarcasm when Crowley asks about rain and awnings because it worked for him (we all know it LMAO). hell, that whole convo the girls have in the rain is so AziraCrow (“I know. I’m not your type” “...You have no idea” hits so much harder the second time, help meeeee.) “Lindsay” maybe being symbolic of Heaven and Aziraphale’s toxic relationship with them and their abuse? (the handwritten text messages in red pen make me think of angry notes on paperwork, anyone else?) because Crowley has never actually cared about what Hell thinks of him, just not getting into trouble (or him or Aziraphale getting hurt). Maggie is always chasing Nina. NINA NEVER GOES IN THE RECORD STORE. Just like Crowley always goes to the bookstore, to Aziraphale, Zira NEVER WENT TO THE FLAT (apart from The Swap but that doesn’t count imo). Crowley has always chased Zira, not the other way around. Always there to rescue him, always going to him for company, always relying on their shared connection, always US. OUR SIDE. All through season one, he comes to Zira every time to work together, never trying to work alongside Hell in any way that isn’t to save their skins or Earth, while Zira hides things from Crowley because he STILL thinks Heaven is ultimately good and will do the right thing if he can just show them. fix it from the inside. 

Maggie working up the courage to finally say something, to put herself out there, while Nina is utterly oblivious and then when she does realise Maggie has feelings, becoming standoffish, putting up that barrier, fighting it, denying it, ITS SO CROWLEY AND AZIRAPHALE IN THAT ORDER. the way I was fooled into thinking Nina’s trust issues are Crowley because he does have trust issues ofc he does BUT Crowley has ALWAYS TRUSTED AZIRAPHALE. has always relied on him. has always been hurt when Aziraphale doesn’t immediately reciprocate the way he expects (the holy water request, the bandstand, the “off in the stars” etc). he’s always the one putting himself forward. Aziraphale has always been the one to second guess everything, to fight their connection, their similarities, their friendship. the girls really made me think it was going to be okay when they sat Crowley down, even as my inner sirens were going haywire about Metatron interfering, they were telling Crowley he just needs to open up and it’ll all work out BUT HE’S ALREADY AT THAT POINT. he may not say it, and by gosh is that part of their damn problem, but he’s always SHOWN IT. he’s not Nina who needs time to heal and recover from her broken trust, he’s always been Maggie believing it doesn’t matter, they’ll end up together in the end anyway AND I WALKED RIGHT INTO THE TRAP THAT THIS MEANT THEY WERE GOING TO BE OKAYYYYYYYYYYY

Good Omens Season 2 Episode 6 Thoughts (for real this time)

Let's just take this chronologically so I can lose my mind at the end.

Crowley in heaven! What a dork! He looks lovely I hope SO MANY PPL cosplay him.

It took me forever to get to sleep last night. Like an hour and a half. Cuz my brain wouldn't shut up. And I dreamt about them. And it was awful and sad. And NOW we're going to a friend's house to watch the whole thing with her for the first time. Again. I have to endure this again.

Good Omens Fic Idea

Kk, so I was on a bus ride and this spontaneously popped into my mind, and I haven’t been able to get the idea out of my head since, so I’ve decided to write it down and probably post it.

The idea is that this is post season 2, after a series of events where in the beginning it wouldn’t be listed as a story, but more like a prologue of the events that happened before the beginning. Would love if anyone would help me come up with ideas for how this happened. In this plot line, I plan for Crowley to have been erased from the book of life.

Unlike what many angels and demons think, your existence itself isn’t erased, just forgotten. Your things are left behind, but people just will never be able to put their finger on who you are or where you came from. If they come across a photo of you or something you’d written, they’d immediately forget about it moments later. It’s a curse, really.

The average person wouldn’t remember you if they sturdied your face, it’s as though your invisible while walking through the streets.

It takes a while for Crowley to come to terms with it, really for him to come to terms with anything that’s happened. His whole life, just gone… and he can’t handle the idea that Aziraphale had forgotten him. At the start of the fic (where all of the dialogue and other usual components begin to come into play), we find Crowley making himself a life, building from the ground up. Unable to let go of his past, he does this near, if not practically next to where Aziraphale's bookshop resides.

And on the note of Aziraphale, we would learn that Crowleys disappearance had affected him drastically. He finds himself pondering relentlessly over why he has such urges to keep all his books and all with him, why he doesn’t act as a proper bookshop owner. He dwells consistently on his past, and the sins he committed such as lying, being lustful, glutinous, etc..

It tears him apart constantly has he twists and turns restlessly in bed, similarly to Crowley, who can't stop thinking over what he could possibly do to move on...until it hits him. Crowley never really was the type to be upfront about his feelings, he was a bit more poetic than he'd always seemed. Aziraphale used to get on him about it, joking about how he's more soft than he lets on, though of course Crowley always brushed it off, never wanting to accept the truth of what really is..

And so he plans to visit the shop, gather up and bundle different types of flowers with different meanings behind them (will be specified in the fic, maybe give some of them a backstory, like they were mentioned in his past. And then he plans to leave. Leave the town forever, as it'd be best for him, and everyone around him (especially Azi). Maybe the flowers relate to experiences he'd had with more people than just Aziraphale, with someone like his Bentley, maybe Muriel. Just gives them a bit more of a deeper meaning than just a goodbye).

But when he embarks upon the foot of Azi's bookshop to place them and finally leave, Zira takes notice of him on his front door. He ask some about him, and why he'd left flowers there, and Crowley was simply caught off guard. He makes up some lies (sort of) about how he'd just moved next door, and since he owns a flower shop, he only thought it fitting to leave some there as a sort of welcome gift.

Aziraphale would then find it funny that he had the same idea to leave some gifts for Crowley since he'd moved in, some about gardening and its history (etc..), and invited him in to chat. During that time, Azi had found it odd that he found Crowleys face so familiar, and asked if he'd met him before. Crowley denies, but Azi brushes it off.

Over the next few weeks, Crowley tries to convince himself he'll still go through with the plan, but she just keeps talking and 'accidentally' bumping into Aziraphale. On top of that, he was re-establishing his fatherly role with Muriel, building more friendships with Maggie and Nina, and just re-integrating himself in society. Eventually, part of the curse caused by the erasing of his name in the book of life began to wore off, people recognized her (Crowley) as someone they'd seen before, even as a friend.

And like before, Nina often talked and joked with Crowley of how he fancied Azi, which sometimes made him question things over again, though somehow still trying to ignore his need to think over what he'd do about all of this in the future. To make things even worse (for Crowley at least, not for us), Maggie had begun bugging Aziraphale about how often he'd been 'accidentally' coming across Crowley, and ending up inviting him out to dinners.

Btw, Nina and Maggie are definitely teaming up with one another, they ship Azicrow almost as much as Neil Gaiman does.

I think I've been rambling on enough...Let me know if you want to figure out/write the ending on another post. I think I'll start writing the fic soon, and it will most likely be a one shot. Even if this post doesn't get a lot of attention, I really want to write this, because it's curing my writers block.
