We have a lot of choices in both fruit wines and meads that are available at the winery and to a lesser degree on Vinoshipper. However, there are several that we will sell out of well before being able to bottle more. We are low on these meads: Smart Ass Coffee Mead, Nectarine Melomel, Blueberry Melomel, Herald Cyser, and Pounding Branch Persimmon. For fruit wines we are low on Little Heeler blueberry dessert wine. If you don’t see something on Vinoshipper, it is either sold out or getting ready to so I’ve taken it off. If there is some you absolutely just have to have, you can send me a private message to see if it is in stock and if it is, I can coordinate with you to put your request on Vinoshipper long enough for you to grab it. Madison, Matador and Voyage are completely sold out. We will do very little bottling until January but we do hope to have Gladius back in stock within the next two weeks. If you must eat your “Traditional American #Thanksgiving” fare tomorrow, I suggest (for many reasons 😉) Lunatic Red. This red #wine is a big blend of Zinfandel, Souzao, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese [blueberry compote, blackberry spiced jam, baking spices, toasted vanilla bean and hints of bourbon glazed pork belly]. It’s the perfect accompaniment for all those non-indigenous foods you adorn your dining room table with on #Thanksgiving. #Repost @amhistorymuseum wine press. Manufactured by Philadelphia’s Baccellieri Brothers Company, presses like these were used by home winemakers. It was purchased sometime after 1902, when Francesco Lee (Lia), arrived in the United States from the Catanzaro region of Italy. Operating the press was straightforward: after the crushed grapes and juice were emptied into the press, the winemaker placed wooden blocks on top of them to help compress the grapes as the screw was turned with a long wooden handle. As the mass of crushed grapes was pressed, juice ran out of the bottom and into another barrel.

After 11 hours slow cooking two pork butts (one in oven and one in smoker) - I needed wine! I’ve been hearing @wine1percent talk about the Acumen wines he found at Grocery Outlet so i hunted around and found a unicorn: 2015 Acumen Cabernet Franc. We also bought some Red Blend and Cab but I really wanted to try the Cab Franc. At $24.99 it is the steal of the year so far! An estate wine from grapes grown on Atlas Peak, I would stack this up against any CF in our collection. Nicely balanced wine, red and black fruits on the nose and palate. Great acidity, and some nice vegetal notes as well. I kept this wine next to me and tried not to share but eventually I had to. Word got out that this was a great wine and now everyone is hitting Grocery Outlet to try and find it. I need to get to Acumen to taste their current vintages. ————————————————- For dessert I cracked open a beautiful Sauternes Barsac made from 100% Semillon. Sweet and acidic and luscious. Name: 2002 Clarendon Hills Hickinbotham Vineyard Old Vines Grenache _________ My rating: 90 _________ My price: $30 from @winebid _________ Really nice aged old vine Grenache from one of the my favorite producers from down under. Went perfectly with the thanksgiving meal, but lacked that wow factor. Nose of cherry syrup and loamy earth. From first sip to the last two hours later, this was a smooth and quite polished drink. Mostly red berries, cocoa nibs, smoky cedar, subtle spice and tobacco all integrate nicely for a lingering sweet finish.
