10. Is your character street-smart, book-smart, intelligent, intellectual, slow-witted?

Ryder is ex-corpo. Ofc he's book-smart. He even reads a lot and has an entire bookshelf at home. You're likely to find books everywhere in his apartment. Yeah, he doesn't look like a book worm but he's. Do not underestimate him just because of his looks. ;) He's also intelligent. He just doesn't show it to hide his origin.

22. Who are their friends? Lovers? ‘Type’ or ‘ideal’ partner?

Vijay is his best friend :) He's been his lover a few years ago. Now they're friends (yes, you can still be friends after having had a relationship – it's not easy but possible). Hizumi follows after, tho Ryder thinks of them they're a bit strange (but hell who isn't in this city?). He's also gotten friends with Vanessa Vergara and Ivarr not long ago. :) He knows a few more but these are merely aquaintances for him rather than friends. Ryder doesn't have as many friends as Vijay and mainly knows people through him. He's just not the 'go to talk with everyone' type of guy.

26. What does your character’s home look like? Personal taste? Clothing? Hair? Appearance?

Ryder's got the apartment in the Glen. Yeah, fairly large for a single guy, I know. But he's got the money for it, so why not make himself a nice home? Sure, he doesn't like corpo but he just can't live in a small shitty apartment in one of these stinky mega buildings. He's got a certain pride alright? He loves his loft apartment — much of steel and glass, nice city view, one big room, high ceiling, brick walls. Big TV, king size bed, book shelf, a bar etc. You can't kill everything corpo when you're born one. His appearance now is seen by others mostly that he's a light goth dude. His style however is inspired by 1980s Depeche Mode and the overall German techno scene. People love to wear dark clothing in Germany when they go to a rave. Rave is essential for him to express himself. His hair has always been and stays black. He wore it differently when he was still a corpo. It looked more neat and not as messy as now. He's glad he got rid of it. Too snobby. Same for his appearance back then. When he was still with his Corpo family he had a different hairstye, shaved regularly, had no tattoos neither implants or scarifications and also no cyberware – just scars he received from his father. He started with adding the complexions on his face (not around the eyes) and found a liking in looking slightly different with that (his father had a different opinion though). After he made a cut with his corpo life he began to get himself a tattoo on his back what slowly went into becoming an entire upper arm-chest sleeve. He's also got anothr big black on mathing to the rest on his left lower leg. Lastly he changed his eyes and finally started to value how he looked.

49. What about voice? Pitch? Strength? Tempo and rhythm of speech? Pronunciation? Accent?

When Ryder speaks his first language, German, his voice often sounds kind of hard and a bit darker, hes also speaking pretty fast — no one's going to understand him then. He tries not to sound like a German speaking English 'cause he sets great value on pronounciation. Sometimes the German accent comes through, tho. When he speaks English his voice sounds a bit softer, given that English in general sounds softer than German.

🛏️ What does your OC’s bed look like? What would they like their bed to look like? right now she’s either squatting in abandoned houses or renting motel rooms so she doenst really have bed of her own unfortunately. but she’s on her way to getting enough to buy her own apartment!

🌧️ What is the favorite thing for you OC to do on a rainy day? she mostly just likes sitting and watching the rain. the sound is very soothing to her. she also loves it when there’s thunder!

🐹 Which would be your OCs favorite Pokemon? What kind of trainer would they be? i think zoroark would be a good fit for her! i wasnt sure exactly how to answer the second part because i havent played pokemon in so long so i just decided to look up all the pokemon trainer classes (and there are a lot). i coudnt really decide so i just settled one called Lone Wolf. there’s no info on the class but i liked the name of it haha!

👀 What is the first physical feature people notice when they see your OC? Why?

I'd say probably his nose? He got a long, crooked nose, with a scar on the bridge that goes on his right cheek, and a scar on his tip that cut it in two.. it's sitting right in the middle of his face so UHEFH

That or his big brown eyes with white rings in the center, with all the smudged black powder around it that makes them POP

🪞 How does your OC perceive themself? Do they believe themself to be attractive, unattractive, or average? Does their view of themself affect their self-esteem, or are they unbothered by their physical appearance? (If your OC does have things they’re confident or insecure about, what are they?)

UH Val doesn't think about his appearance much anymore, tho.. during his early teen years (12~16 ?) he was--

ok so I was thinking about it the other day, but in 2077 I don't think being trans gender is "A Big Thing" like it's just a thing that happens so people are chill, I guess they have all kind of cool shit in the city to transition quick and "fully" (if wanted) but since Val is a nomad, I headcanon that they still use "old methods" ? as in taking drugs (in that case, T) and it's a more "slow" process than it could be in the cities, but still much more advance than our days. OR LIKE, THATS WHAT I HEADCANON ANYWAY HFHFHF

So yeah for Val it was during that time that he transitioned, so he was kinda feeling MEEHH about his body (Not because of other people, cause like I said I think people don't give a shit in that setting / in that year, it's more of gender dysphoria really) but he's much better now, he can catch himself in the mirror and think "hey there cutie" that kind of guy UHFEHU

👖 What type of clothing does your OC generally wear? Why? Do they have any “signature” accessories?

OUUGHH He likes to wear crop top / to have his belly out, I don't think there is a reason? He just vibin

He wears his little goggles on his head most of the time, and I actually thought about that! So, since he got those kiroshi optics during his Wraith time, at a Scav ripper, they're kinda wonky and there isn't any uhh function to turn off the glow of the ring? So in the night boy is GLOWING and is easily spotted if he tries to be sneaky ; So his goggles actually have a filter on it that hides the ring perfectly without messing with his vision! So during gig during night time / in dark place / when he needs to be SNEAKY he put them on and be a sneaky boi- it became an habit to just have them on him, on his forehead or around his neck at all time~

And in general he prefer practical gears over style, baby is a nomad born and raised after all 🦝

14. what is their weapon of choice?

If we're talking physical weapon, usually that means the shit's hit the fan so Val is going for her shotgun. She doesn't have any one particular favorite, but she does prefer one that's holds 5+ rounds, and has a pretty tight spread. Second choice is Mantis blades, and once those come out.... Yeah. 15. what is their preferred vehicle or transportation of choice?

Nine times out of ten it's Jackie's ARCH. The other time it's a Quadra Type-66. Before she leaves Night City with the Aldecaldos, her car of choice is the Avenger, but then she switches to the Javelina.

21. do they have any favorite spots around NC?

She's got a couple of spots she loves. She likes to wander the Kabuki market and people watch. There's also a spot downtown with some real live grass but she won't share the coords for that spot. (Sorry.)

31. who are their closest chooms in NC?

After Jackie dies, she really only has Misty. She didn't really have many friends before she went to Atlanta, and she lost touch with them. She really bonds with Panam, though, enough that she asks her for help when things get really bad.

Tagged by @smilepal (thank you!! 💕💕💕) and since I've actually been listening to new music other than the same couple of songs, this is perfect. So in no particular order:

1) Majesty - Apashe

I associate this song with Judah, so it's been on repeat for a good while. I just discovered this artist too, so I've been listening nonstop on Spotify.

2) John Dee - Ghostemane

OH BOY, so I randomly found Ghostemane a while ago and have pretty much ALL of his songs on my playlist and he's the artist that inspired SVLEM. Literally, from aesthetics to music style and lyrical content, Salem is pretty much based on him. One of my new favorite artists and this is the song that I'm probably going to assign to Salem.

This one was shown to me by @alteredsilence and the more I listened to it, the more I thought about Corpo!Paolo because it fits him very well due to the personality I gave him for that AU. I keep coming up with all these scenerios I wanna write while listening to this one.

10. what inspired this character’s creation?

First of all I wanted to try out mantis blades but I couldn't give them to Vijay — it felt wrong (bby has issus with that from the past ;_;). Therefore I thought "alright, I need to make another one some day". But I had no idea for the second character at first and shoved it back to the waiting list. When I was searching for Vijay's last Name I came across the last name "von Scharfenberg" and thought: alright, my second dude will be a German with that last name. Bit by bit there was an image forming in my head of him since that spark. I wanted him to be the entire opposite of Vijay and go more into the direction of a modern alternative guy (with a slight 80s touch). I had yellow eyes in mind for him at first, but I was too lazy to deinstall my eye mod settings and took some eyes from there, so now he's god cold grey with that glowing circle and somehow he reminds me totally of my Skyrim thief character. Also a lot of Depeche Mode vibes.

13. what are some motifs you associate with them? did you intentionally bring in those motifs, or did it happen over time?

Tbh this questions confuses me a little. So I hope i'm jsut guessing this right?

This might be more a theme rather than a motif and I didn't intend to bring it in, but: he's gonna be one of those guys who will be wearing all black only. No other color will be added to him other than in form of using lighting. I thought about a color like, violet or green but nothing fits him when I tried out some shirts on him last time. A motif - if it is one - I didn't intend to happen is that he's very protective about Vijay and totally devoted to him — V is his lifeline. Without him even I don't want to imagine what Ryder would be doing. So maybe it is his own journey as well? From a worthless guy from a rich corpo family turning into a well-known, appreciated and valued merc who underwent a lot of changes — visible ones (tattoos mostly for covering his scars from the past, cyberware, his entire appearance changed) as well as his character (matured, being openly gay, more self-esteem, being more open to others, values himself).

16. do they value their appearance?

Ryder didn't value his old appearance. When he was still with his Corpo family he had a different hairstye, shaved regularly and had no tattoos neither implants or scarifications and also no cyberware – just scars he received from his father. He started with adding the complexions on his face (not around the eyes) and found a liking in looking slightly different with that (his father had a different opinion though). When he made a cut with his Corpo life he began to get himself a tattoo on his back what slowly went into becoming an entire upper arm-chest sleeve. He made his hair look messier, grew a beard, changed his eyes and finally started to value how he looked. He never liked wearing formal Corpo Shit clothing. He's still not done though.

⚡ What mythological god would you associate with your OC? tbh i know next to nothing about mythological gods so i googled some! the ones that called out to me the most persephone and the valkyries!

👹 How much patience does you OC have? Are they patient? Or are they easily irritable? jori has a lot of patience for people who she likes and is close with and strangers who are kind to her. if its someone she doesnt like, she’ll make it known that she has no patience for them by acting irritable and giving short, snappy answers. to keep things civil , scorpion will usually butt in have a little talk with her.

3. What is your favourite childhood memory?

I have many. It would be rather sad if I could easily pick *one*, wouldn't it... Vitalik's involvement is a common denominator in most of them, though. We were a unit. We had our own games, our own codes, our own little creative projects... And we had each other's back, always.

5. What is your favourite thing to do in your free time?

I love games, I love to read and I love to tinker. I suppose if you held me at gunpoint and made me choose just one, I'd go with reading. That's definitely the one thing that got me through some dark times and one I couldn't do without.

16. Describe your perfect day.

No work, no business, no calls. Drinking coffee, eating chocolate, painting cats or reflections of the neon signs on water puddles in Kabuki. Nobody dies.

18. What’s the best way to cheer you up?

Depends on who you are and what my grief is. ...Cake or a nice gift is usually a safe bet.

Oh my god, there's so many that I really like. But if I had to pick, I'm a huge sucker for 'enemies to lovers'. Or like 'two people who very much don't like each other are forced to work together and reluctantly grow close' type of dynamics (which is basically the premise of my fanfic). Can't go wrong with a classic 'friends to lovers' too.

Well, first things first – Trace enjoys it the most when he’s allowed to finish inside without protection - and when he can admire the mess he’s done.
