Not me secretly hoping Earthspark Brawl is still alive. Or at least healed after the finale.

I interally laugh everytime someone's like "since Earthspark is on Nick, they can't do the dark stuff they pulled off on Prime" when Nick is also the station that had The Legend of Korra in which one of the episodes featured a guy assassinating a head of state by asphyxiation via drawing the air out of her lungs, or the station that allowed a bunch of people to die horribly onscreen in the Hey Arnold Jungle Movie.
Hence why I would NOT be surprised if Earthspark just threw in the Quintessons, the DJD and the Black Block Consortium into future seasons. I mean, they weren't afraid of putting in full blown body horror in the season 1 finale (or in the 2012 TMNT incarnation), so I'm not even surprised if Earthspark ups the ante with future seasons.
Legends of Korra did
What
Admittedly I only watched the first three episodes of it,
But
Like
Goddamn
Goddamn
And the hey Arnold movie???
I forgot about a lot of the shit that went down in TMNT 2012 but I think it's because I blocked it out
Plus we've gotta remember the shit that went down in the episode "Home" part 1 & 2, with Mandroid choosing between the severed Cybertronian arms and when Bee and kids found a very dead Brawl.
in hindsight, no. Yeah. They can put a lot of the dark shit in that I had initially wrote off as "surely they can't put [thing] in Earthspark, it's on Nickelodeon!"

Nobody’s Fool
Summery: Swindle meets up with his old teammates The Combaticons to convince them to help rescue his brother.
A/N: I love the Combaticons so I'm really hoping we get to see Swindle team up with his old teammates in season 2! Xxxxxxx
Ao3:
It had been months since Swindle had last set eyes of the derelict warehouse his fellow Combaticons were forced to call home. It was nothing compared to the all inclusive high-rise the mercenaries used to enjoy before the war; but hey from Swindle's perspective anything was better than prison.
Swindle rehearsed his apology speech in his head as he tried to pick the lock. To be honest he was slightly annoyed that Onslaught must have changed it.
Like, sure he could have left them a note, but it wasn't his fault that Hardtop dropped by unannounced. And yeah Swindle could have invited him in but the last time the Combaticons had interacted with his brother, Brawl had ripped his arm off and Vortex had tried to frag him so really it was better for everyone that Swindle did the job with Hardtop all by himself.
Also it wasn't like he had a choice. It was either split what should have been a trailer full of energon between two people or between five. It was just simple mathematics. They can't blame him for that!
Besides he'd done worse. The time he'd sold them as spare parts to the devil (Starscream) unhelpfully springing to mind.
It wasn't long before the lock sprung open, and Swindle tiptoed inside.
Hopefully most of his former teammates would be out, leaving only one or two behind that he could convince to not kill him and help him get his brother back.
"And where have you been?"
Scrap.
Swindle's wide eyes adjusted to the dim light to see Onslaught stood in the entrance, arms folded across his broad chest.
The rest of their team were gathered around him. At his right hand side as always was Blast-Off who placed his hands on his hips, after elbowing Brawl for giving him an oblivious wave. On his other was Vortex who flashed Swindle a grin as sharp as the knife in his servos which wasn't exactly an unusual sight but it had been while since it had been directed at Swindle.
"Oh hey Onsie! Didn't see you there! Which is hard because it's hard not to notice you. Have you been using that new polish I got you?" Swindle rambled, apology disappearing from his mind as he automatically turned on the charm. Which was admittedly not one of his smarter plans as now Blast-Off was sending him death glares.
"You mean the polish you stole from Blast-Off and re-gifted to me?" Onslaught asked which from anyone else might have come across as a joke, but there was no trace of humour in their leader's voice.
"Yeah that one! I mean I didn't steal anything! And even if I did, Blast-Off doesn't mind. I know he appreciates how the polish makes your rivets shine." Swindle said, pointing to Blast-Off who's rose tinted face was now actively looking anywhere but their leader. Which come on! How was it his fault that Blast-Off's crush on their leader made him as easy to manipulate as stealing rust sticks from a sparkling.
"You believe that futile flattery makes up for six months of absence?" Onslaught demanded.
"No of course not! Which is why I'm offering you something much more valuable." Swindle said, pausing for dramatic effect. "Me."
Onslaught raised an unimpressed optical ridge which was rude to say the least.
"Look as the humans say, here's the coffee." Swindle said, putting on his best salesman voice. His teammates were near immune to it at this point but for the sake of his brother it was still worth a try. "Hardtop was captured by the Autobots, so I figured we could use Bruticus to bust him out."
"And why would we help you rescue the brother that you abandoned us for in the first place?"
"Money."
Onslaught stalled. It was a small movement, barely more than a clenching of his gears. Not something an ordinary bot would notice. But Swindle had literally been inside his leaders head. At this point he didn't need to be a master con-man to recognise his tells.
If there was one word you could use to describe Onslaught it was proud. And scrounging by in their derelict warehouse after once leading the most revealed mercenaries on Cybertronian was not something for the bot to be proud of.
Something which money could fix.
"Soundwave is offering the remainder of the Deception funds to anyone willing to assist in a mass break out." Swindle explained. "So not only do we get Hardtop, we also get to rescue an entire armies worth of customers."
By the brightening of his optics, Swindle knew Onslaught was interested.
Unfortunately Onslaught had something Swindle did not.
Dignity.
Brawl didn't have enough modular cells to hold a grudge and Vortex was up for anything that potentially involved mass murder. The pair were already wearing matching grins of glee at the idea.
But it didn't matter what they thought as allowing a bot who had openly disobeyed him back onto his team without retribution wasn't something that Onslaught's pride would concede.
No, Onslaught and Blast-Off were the ones he really had to convince. Swindle needed to convince one of them because as much as the other would never admit it, they would follow whatever the other decided. And although he would never tell them with words, he did really want his place back on the team. For as much as Swindle often... well swindled his teammates, he did love to be apart of the Combaticons.
"Hardtop used to be a sniper for the elite guard before the war." For a week before they fired him due to him taking money to assassinate the then Prime but his point still stands. "Rescue him and I can get him to join our team permanently."
Swindle could tell Onslaught and Blast-Off were thinking the offer over. Their optics flashed as they both shared a look. Even before the group had combined, those two had always had a way to communicate with just a look. Usually over how bad to reprimand one of their team after they'd done something particularly stupid.
"If we had a sniper, we could complete assassinations that Bruticus was too big of a distraction to carry out." Blast-Off suggested and Swindle couldn't help the smile that spread across his faceplate knowing that he'd just sealed the deal.
"Fine." Onslaught relented, pointing a large digit towards Swindle. "But you're also on cleaning duty for the next millennia. And don't try to trick Brawl into doing it for you."
"Anything you say boss!"
He was definitely going to trick Brawl into doing the cleaning for him.

TFE Spoilers
Okay- okayokayokay-
Tumblr media
Breakdown's arm is making me cry.
However-
Tumblr media
It's O N L Y Breakdown's arm.
Do I choose to believe that somewhere among GHOST's captives, there is a one armed Breakdown? Absolutely I do.
Especially considering that Mandroid says that he only has losers to chose from and we know full well that Breakdown won against Bumblebee, then ended up in GHOST custody. He couldn't have ended up in the bot Brawl and the line doesn't match up with what the audience knows about Breakdown.
Am I going to be proven wrong when they reveal he's actually dead or just not bring him back? Probably.
But I'm still going to suggest that it's a red herring, Better yet- it's a red herring specifically set up for Bumblebee.
When he finds the hand that pushed him away that allowed Breakdown to sacrifice himself and he assumes that it means Breakdown's death- only for a reveal further along where Bee's in danger and the danger gets tackled to the ground. While Bee tries to process what happens he hears a familiar laugh followed by
'Slowpoke.'
So he looks up and sees Breakdown alive, just missing an arm.
Please for the love of gay- I need Breakdown to be alive so bad I'm in the river in Egypt!

I keep thinking about GHOST’s cybertronian rights violations. I just finished the season, I bought it on dvd, and it bugs me how GHOST is just super evil. There’s not a lot of nuance there. Tarantulas shows Nightshade a device that GHOST made that erases Cybertronians’ memories. There’s also the devices Optimus and Bumblebee use that control what form a Cybertronian stays in. Croft gives Mandroid free will over using Decepticon prisoners as his experiments and Croft tortures a Decepticon at one point seemingly for fun. Being a Cybertronian on the run with GHOST around sounds like a nightmare. I don’t understand why Optimus goes along with it for so long. Megatron seems to protest more against it but none of the other GHOST cybertronians do. It’s definitely a writing flaw for me. I don’t know how season two will handle the fallout of GHOST’s actions and those affected by them. Those who were imprisoned will be rightfully upset. I feel like TFP Optimus never would’ve sided with GHOST (I know TFE Optimus is a different version of the character) Thoughts?
The writers definitely went out of their way to make GHOST as over the top evil as possible. What should've happened is that the organization should've been presented more as a necessary evil which is how OP views them going by his dialogue to Dot and Megatron. He knows GHOST is shady, but he doesn't see a better option since the TFs are effectively stuck on Earth and think they're the last of their species. If the show didn't make OP into a moron so often, this version of the character would be interesting to explore how he's more willing to do some questionable things for what he feels is the greater good. That must be a Prime trait going by Quintus' actions in Prime Time.
TFP Prime would definitely have more of an issue with GHOST and I feel like he'd be more likely to bail on a partnership with them if he found out what it was they were actually doing.
A lot of GHOST's tech involves use of excessive force which is horrifying, but what else are a bunch of run of the mill humans supposed to do against giant alien robots that are literally walking weapons of mass destruction? The show has an obsession with making most of the Cons into giant metal teddy bears but let's not kid ourselves that there's definitely bots out there that ACTIVELY MEAN HARM.
I find it hard to believe that GHOST won't exist in some form in Season 2. An organization of that size with the amount of extra stuff they had running on the side (Bot Brawl) wouldn't completely disappear over night. It would also be a good opportunity to see Schloder's reaction to what Croft was actually up to.
The writing can come across as the creative team hoping the audience doesn't think too hard about things.

An TFE AU that's been burrowing in my mind for a bit.
Would Bot Brawl continue to use Mandroid's tech, and if so, what great revenue they'd get from somehow incapacitating the Warlord Himself, blinding a mech and implanting a more secure patch for coding to seep into one's processor.
G.H.O.S.T may be weakened or downright dead, but humans are still... human.
So yeah, uh, Megs retirement isn't doing ok
Tumblr media
The blinding process had so many trials and errors of misfiring and not having the harpoon aimed correctly, to Megatron simply defending himself, that the captors almost couldn't keep up with their numbers dropping enough to have the arms needed to drag him back

You know what would cause absolutely choas in the jetfamily au. Wildbreak and the twins accidentally sending themselves back to tfes Starscream dimension. So now those 3 are trying to avoid capture while Starscream and the rest are trying to figure out how to get to their babies. There will be he'll to pay if there's even a scratch on any paint
Oh that. That hurts
My mind immediately went to Wildbreak getting dragged off the underground brawls; he looks a lot like the Breakdown of this dimension, and he's not flight capable like the twins. They get attacked by GHOST and are separated. Lil bb Wildbreak ends up more or less adopted by Earthspark Breakdown, and the twins... hm. They're probably running for their lives doing everything in their power to stay away from GHOST. They want to save Wildbreak but have no idea where he is, and getting themselves captured for dissection certainly won't help

Oh, I forgot to mention! When Ratchet goes for a drive, it is with a small white cassette in his back, hidden with his medical supplies. One of the last people he speaks to is Jazz, who is definitely aware and opens the door for him. Her last words are to tell him to be safe. I love the idea of femme Jazz and would love to see it at least once.
Yep, Combaticons fucking off inspired by the comics. I have a whole plotline about them. Swindle eventually has a fight with them and heads back to America to track down Hardtop because he wasn't willing to wait for Onslaught to "approve" the mission and wasn't ready to apologize first. Brawl had enough eventually and went looking for him which is how he ended up at Bot Brawl.
Oh? 👀 Word vomit?
Awww yes! Just an ambulance with a cassette
She would do that, yep yep.
oh the combaticons sound like an utter TREAT right now, so Swindle was the first to leave and Brawl...
Well we know what happened to Brawl.
Was i waiting for someone to ask about the word vomit i fished that prev phrase from? Yes, yes i was.
You're gonna get that in a minute as it's a doozy

I was looking through TvTropes Apocalyptic index, and the whole Born After the End happens to have a few dedicated to the Transformers, namely with at least 3 different examples:
Hot Rod is described in the G1 fiction as being created after the Autobots abandoned their homeworld and has only known Earth as his home (this coming from a stand alone storybook rather than the cartoon or any comics), Bumblebee being the youngest Autobot in the G1 and Aligned continuities, and the Rescue Bot Academy bots being born after the war and Cybertron's revival.
It occurs to me that the Terrans might as well be in that Born After the End situation, as they have never known Cybertron and do not know of the war aside from what their older peers tell them about. And it seems like Earthspark is leaning towards the idea that Bumblebee (and perhaps Arcee, since she seems to fit into that role) as being the last Autobots created on Cybertron, with most of the surviving Autobots and Decepticons being the older generation. In fact, I would go so far to venture that of the Autobots and Decepticons present, it seems like Bumblebee, Arcee, Swindle, Hardtop and perhaps the Seeker Trio are probably the youngest of the bots and cons present.
I kind of bring this up do to a prevalent fan theory that speculates that Bumblebee is a child soldier. I just think he was born during the middle of the war and thus doesn't remember a time before there was a war and so his old habits and calling people by their titles rather than addressing them by name. I firmly believe Arcee is older than him, since she acts like an older sister but seems to be younger than say Optimus and Megatron. I'm also of the opinion that Bumblebee likes being around adults more than teaching kids (at least in the first episodes of Earthspark) mainly because for most of his life, he's never known any Transformer younger than himself.
This also brings me to Hot Rod. If the series was to introduce Hot Rod, they could make him either a protoform stolen by Quintessons or one of the last protoforms taken off of Cybertron and thus has no idea what Cybertron is like. I kind of feel if Earthspark introduces off-world Transformers, they could have them either never know of Cybertron, only hearing about it from their older peers and parents.
Oooo so that'd be fascinating, because it makes total sense given what we see that in other continuities Bee was very much a child soldier (bayverse and tfp are the first that come to mind, with in bayverse we're directly told he's an equivalent age to Sam)

There is that piece of art that has TFE Megatron laying an egg...
So clearly that is what should happen. Megatron realises that he's carrying while they're still working with G.H.O.S.T, so he and Optimus entrust the coming clutch to Dot&Alex.
Wait there is give
Give?find?please🥺
But also yes your little situation idea sounds fascinating, especially with them asking crunchy questions regarding how Cybertronian reproduction works and just. I've been thinking about earthspark eggs all day and how humans would react to them

Swinlock battletrap earthspark au.
When lockdown found out about the slaughter of the combaticons, he took battletrap, who has the capability to transform into a combiner component, and ran away. He assumed swindle to be dead, and so him and battletrap just live on the death's head, far, far away from ghost and the other decepticons.
Swindle is heartbroken that lockdown and his son have seemingly disappeared, which is why he clings on to his brother so hard.
Damnnnn, I can see why he did that (plus in general to me? Lockdown feels like both the type of mech GHOST would target but also the kind who'd have a good chance of getting away)
And ohhh Swindle must've worried so much about them, oh.

Spoilers from episode 8, 17 & 18 of Transformers Earthspark.
A moment of Silence for TFE Bumblebee’s arms.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAH Arcee's stand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upon my collecting of Bee’s gauntlet trauma, I really watched Bee's parts in episode 17 & 18. Like r e a l l y watched it and I gotta say… I'm so confused.
I feel like they were setting up a bunch of stuff, but because there aren't any episodes to follow, we're just kinda left with it. Don't get me wrong, I'm insane, so relished in the Bee whump, but what was that first part?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why was he electrocuted?
Tumblr media
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that Grimlock??
Tumblr media
Did Bee not look up o n c e while he was in the bot brawl?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm worried if it took Bee that long to understand Brawl was dead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I hope they give him some form of survivors guilt. I just think it would be interesting.
Tumblr media
Also with all the statements about the bot brawl being packed with decepticons, it makes you wonder- we’re Bee or Grimlock going to face the same fate as the cons depending on whether they won or lost. If Bee had actually won, would he have gotten a microchip?

SG Earthspark: I think i should put Hashtag's hacking as episode 7, and the kids finding Shockwave as episode 13, and Shockwave being found, Meridian escaping G.H.O.S.T, and the Maltos and Meridian going on the run at some point after episode 13.
That leaves me to come up with events for 4 episodes in between the opening two-parter and the Hashtag episode. Plus 5 episodes in between the Hashtag episode and the Shockwave episode. Then the last half of the season.
Some baseline episodes' stuff needs to still be here because they're propably setting something up; The Dweller, the mutated bear, Bot Brawls, the kids' emotional link getting severed, and maybe Robby's illness (i'm unclear on the cause and what actually happened) and perhaps Quintus psychologically torturing Mo for being upset because of it? Was there anything else that seems like it's going to be important later?
The episode where Bumblebee meets the kids with bad first impressions but saves one of them will be before the Hashtag episode. Something else also needs to go down before the Hashtag episode for the Emberstone to birth Hashtag, Nightshade, and Jawbreaker (but that could be the episode immediately before the Hashtag episode, so seeing that shit will be even worse for her and she barely knows Dot yet so fearing her mother is complicit in G.H.O.S.T's crimes makes even more sense).
Not sure about the mutant bear episode's placement, but in any case it should be before the Shockwave episode. Nightshade could also still meet Tarantulas, after the Hashtag episode (since baseline TFES Tarantulas was randomly not evil, maybe SG Tarantulas is, and Nightshade isconsequently suspicious of the idea that the Ascenticons are the good guys?). Jawbreaker would propably pick his altmode before they go on the run too.
The Bot Brawls would be encountered when they're on the run. Maybe also the Dweller. The emotion link would also get somewhere in that time.
This all makes sense, especially including bits of baseline in still like the Dweller (who I swear up and down it's imprisonment in the labyrinth is connected to the Quintessons. I feel like I'm right)
SG earthspark Tarantulas perhaps taking more after his other more evil baseline appearances, if you take the "make him worse" approach?
It would hurt so much so much if the second batch of terrans were born shortly before the SG hashtag episode given everything I know of this au
There's honestly a lot of fuckery to be had regarding energon contamination and I feel like in canon the bear episode is just the beginning
