Hunter's alarm blared.
He sighed, sitting up. He rolled over, pulling his socks and a pair of sweats on, stretching.
He walked out into the hall, calling into the rooms as he walked past. "Up!" He didn't bother with "good mornings," because he knew no one would want them until they were downstairs.
He paused at the stairs, looking down. The door to their garage was open, exactly how he left it late last night, telling his youngest brother to sleep soon. That could mean two things.
"Tech?" He tried, waiting for a shift. When he didn't hear one, he sighed. Wrecker bumbled past him, shirtless and yawning.
"Grab Tech," Hunter told him as he walked down. "He fell asleep under the car again."
"You got it, boss." Wrecker gave him a thumbs up, ducking into the open doorway. Hunter heard the squeaky sound of Omega's old skateboard and the sound of Wrecker grumbling.
"Oil got everywhere again!" Hunter groaned at his brothers words. Omega barrelled into his arms.
"Morning!" She smiled wide. Hunter managed a small smile back, ruffling her sleep kissed hair.
"Hey, 'mega," He greeted. "Breakfast, teeth and bag. You know the drill."
"Yes sir!" She nodded, running downstairs, already dressed for school. How she did it, Hunter didn't know.
He heard the thump of Echo's prosthetics, and he turned. "Mornin'," He sighed, tugging his dressing gown tighter around himself. "Wha's the agenda?"
"Breakfast, teeth and bag." Hunter repeated around a yawn.
Echo looked confused for a moment. "Right.." He agreed anyway, walking past Hunter.
Wrecker passed him on the way, carrying Tech back up the stairs. "Gonna dump him in the bath," He explained briefly. Echo didn't question further.
Crosshair appeared last, their dog on his heels. On the way past, he spared Hunter a soft pat.
"Breakfast, teeth and bag." He joked, skipping the last step as Batcher barked, nipping at his feet. She paused to lick Hunter's hand, and followed Crosshair to the kitchen.
Hunter heard them talking in the kitchen, listened as Tech was rudely woken by cold water, with Wrecker's laughter to accompany him. He sighed softly, content.
He waited in-between them, happy to float as his family enjoyed a slow morning.
A bit too slow, considering Omega had school soon, but the thought was lost as Hunter shut his eyes and listened to the sounds of his family, close and safe.
Until Crosshair's sharp voice swore. "Hunter fucking Fett. It's Saturday! You woke us at six am on a Saturday!"
Hunter's groan into his hands joined the chorus of displeasure.
"Back to bed!" He ordered, already walking towards his room.

I wish there were less self sacrifice theories in TBB because. The thing is.
Self sacrifice is not really a big character defining thing for a clone character. Like, what a shock, the people raised from birth to view themselves as expendable cannon fodder are willing to sacrifice themselves at the drop of a hat, call the news right now immediately.
I simply have no desire to watch any of the batch self sacrifice. And even though I think he's alive, I didn't like it as even a potential ending to Tech's story either. It adds nothing, says nothing, it is literally the starting point that every clone is born on. Your individual life means nothing, you were created to die in battle.
And the show is supposed to be about finding a purpose outside of that, being more than just soldiers, and yet theory after theory wants to just box them back into dying as soldiers and oh my God its boring to even envision. Clone characters dying has been done over and over and over again, the batch actually surviving is just plain the more interesting option.

NU-UH THIS IS MY MONEH.
ough. extra soft tonight.
The low light of the night filtered through the window. Phee pushed the door open, sighing softly as she stepped into the nearly completely dark house.
She looked around, cursing herself at the hour. She had sworn to be back earlier. She pittered through the dark home, the moon lighting her way as she slipped down the hall, kicking off her boots as she did.
The house was silent. The very air itself was thin as she stood at the end of the hall, just outside her room.
She pushed inside, and paused. She did not remember to expect him.
Him, laid strewn across her bed. Recognisable datapad buzzing intermittently beside him, even more familiar goggles pushed up as if he was only moving them to rub his eyes.
His legs dangled off the bed. It looked like he fell into the bed. The room was still, silent outside of the soft snores that rose from her lover. Who must have fallen asleep waiting for her.
Phee allowed a small smile as she walked inside, towards the bed. She scooped up the datapad, powering the beloved device down before gently connecting it to charge. She turned to the goggles, next, gently untangling them from his curls.
She placed them by the datapad, and she finally stopped by her lovely intruder. She dipped, crouching by his boots, still muddy- oh, she was getting him for that later– and gently pulled them off.
He sighed, a sort of huff as she massaged the spot where his harsh boots met skin. He shivered, delighted as she lifted him further onto the bed.
"This is a one time thing," She whispered. "You hear me, Brown Eyes?" Phee nearly laughed as a string of incoherence left him at the mere mention of his title.
He seemed to coil into her once her hands found him, his face softening as he settled closer against her. Phee laughed, letting out a needed groan of relief as she finally settled against her pillows.
Tech was on top of her, a comfortable weight she could no longer live without, head pillowed to her chest. She placed a soft kiss to his head, ruffling the curls before slipping off herself.
"Phee," Tech's soft voice murmured against her. She hummed.
"Phee?" She frowned, unwilling to rouse when she was so comfortable. She hardly notice the tone had changed.
The weight rolled off her, and left like it hadn't ever existed. She missed it dearly, the ghost of his skin against hers. She managed to force an eye open.
"Phee. Phee, wake up."
That was not Tech's voice.
She sat up, looking around until her eyes landed on Hunter. "We're nearly there," He muttered. "Just wanted to give you prep time." He looked sheepish, and turned, walking away.
Phee took a shaky breath. Right, she was not at home, she was on her ship. Tech couldn't have been with her, couldn't have spoken to her. Tech was dead.
Her boots ached uncomfortable where they pressed to her skin. She stood up, and walked towards her cockpit. She ignored the piercing eyes of Tech's twin as she moved past.
Tech was still dead when she got to the cockpit, still dead when she purposely made a mistake on the controls. There was no one to correct her. There was no one to rest atop her after this was all over.
There was no rest for the wicked.

PheeTech thoughts featuring the rest of Tech's family.
Wrecker is a major PheeTech shipper- whenever he sees them together he's giving them that exaggerated wink and thumbs up. He always makes an excuse to leave them alone. Even when he set up the situation he's like "Oh I have to..... I have to walk the ship..... I have to oil Batcher............ okay bYE" and while Tech and Phee don't mind... they like laughing at the excuses as they get more and more insane. But Phee and Wrecker love each other very much. They're chaos incarnate. Please separate.
Crosshair was an unintentional hater until he and Phee actually met. He didn't like the stories (and he had expectations... being told she's a pirate and all) so when Phee met him and was like "oh!!!! You're that Imperial LOSER who tried to murder Brown Eyes!!!!!! Fun :D" He's taken aback. But then again he isn't. Because of course his snarky brother would love a snarky woman. Especially one as brash and thrill-seeking as Phee. Crosshair became a PheeTech lover after the events of s3 (where it all ends happily ever after. of course.) And Phee's seen worrying about Tech (either recovering from the fall or recovering mentally from being CX/being under Hemlock, whichever you prefer). Her being that concerned really sold it for him.... she's okay in his books. Don't tell her. She won't leave him alone then.
Hunter appreciated Phee much more after Tech fell. At first, he was greatful for her opening Pabu up to them and all, but they didn't speak much unless there was a third party (Tech) around to give him a reason to. No bad blood or anything- they just didn't talk. After Tech, though? He learned how much they really loved each other, and through shared grief???? Hunter and Phee became besties. They shared stories from Tech's infamous yapping sprees that spilled some of his serious secrets- secrets you wouldn't know unless you really listened. Which they did :')
OBVIOUSLY Tech and Phee love each other. They kiss and hold hands. Duh. But Tech seeing how close she's gotten with the most important people in his life?? The people whose opinions he holds most dear and near to him???? Seeing her love and appreciate the people he lives by just as he does????????? Ough. Tech's falling so hard he doesn't even know it.
Anyway I always have more PheeTech thoughts but here <333 my beloveds

So as you know my history of tech returning is complicated. At first I didn’t like the idea and thought he was dead. Then I did like the idea and thought he was alive. Now I still like the idea but am back to thinking he is dead. The fact is at most we only have 90 minutes of the bad batch left. And I really don’t think that’s enough time to do all of that justice. Unless they are going for the sad ending where Omega and or Crosshair kill him.
So my question to you tumblr. That I know I ask every week, but it changes slightly and I like to see the mood of tumblr on this as I find changing attitudes fascinating. I wish we could still be delusional but it’s getting harder and harder.

Sharing because Dee Bradley Baker says his favorite line is Tech's final line in Plan 99 so they play the clip but without the Kiner score and I've never heard it that way before and I think it actually hurts worse this way
