Friday was "TV-80 Day" on Conrail's River Line, so from that we can infer that December 15, 1989 was a Friday. TV-80 ran on a once-per-week schedule, departing Chicago on Thursday morning with hot UPS intermodal traffic off the Santa Fe at Corwith Yard. After setting off blocks of cars at Syracuse and Selkirk, what remained was typically a short piggyback train destined for North Bergen Yard. TV-80 is seen here hustling through Teaneck, NJ behind a GP40/C36-7 duo. The lead unit would become MEC 315 after being sold to Guilford. It was still in service as of late 2023.
Teaneck Hot Bagels is a small, family-owned bagel shop in New Jersey that has been around for nearly three decades. Co-Owner Anthony Coulouris talks about the relationship with the community and perseverance through the pandemic.
The Heart of the Teaneck Community: Teaneck Road Hot Bagels
Since being founded in 1993, Teaneck Road Hot Bagels has prided itself on serving the Teaneck community in any way that it could.
Anthony Coulouris along with his father Mike Coulouris have both made sure to help out and boost their standing in various ways. Anthony Coulouris explained that he makes sure to help out teachers, students, athletes, and the general community through luncheons, sponsorship of events and most importantly through the serving of their tasty hot bagels.
Their efforts were also rewarded by Food and Wine Magazine, which named the shop as one of the top 50 bagels in the nation. This is an honor that would bring major business back to the shop after a rough year during the pandemic.
Teaneck Road Hot Bagels has been a staple in the Teaneck community for nearly three decades. Within that time frame, they have certainly won the hearts and taste buds of those that make up the community through their kindness and skilled bagel making. The small family-owned shop continues to thrive even after a pandemic, and they attribute that fortune to the dedicated members of Teaneck and their own passion for the business.
Jennifer Heiner is a sports lover, distance runner, and a sales specialist. A lifelong resident of Teaneck, New Jersey, Jennifer Heiner loves how close Bergen County is to New York City, and the amazing array of culture and cuisine that this area of the state has to offer. Since earning her bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University in 2006, Jennifer Heiner has divided her time between working at a running company in New Jersey and volunteering with various animal rescue groups. An avid runner herself, she has completed six marathons and several shorter events. At other times, Jennifer Heiner spends time trying new restaurants, attending Broadway shows, and staying home playing with her English bulldog.
One of the most popular places in Bergen County, and Teaneck specifically, is Bischoff's Ice Cream and Confectionary. Originally opened in the 1800's in New York City, Bischoff's moved to Cedar Lane in Teaneck in the 1930's where is still stands today.
Sadly, due to the difficult state of the economy and rising costs throughout the supply chain, the 4th Generation owners of Bischoff's have decided to permanently close the beloved shop at the end of this year.

Conrail had various symbols for light engine moves, depending on the purpose of the move. ENG and ENS symbols were common when equipment was being repositioned. In this case, the train is an SHP or "shop" move. SHP-101 was caught heading north through Teaneck, NJ on the River Line. A pair of C30-7As lead seven additional units, which appear to be mostly four-axles assigned to local service in the region. I assume the power in tow is heading to Selkirk for maintenance.
