Bolas?!?!?! quarters their corpses and prepares them for supper, with no part wasted except in practical creativity. Blood as broth, tender meat, entrails that flavor. Each member gets to apply a recipe from their culture. It's delusion to think the taste is sweet, but why fight it amongst company that understands? It's an unholy communion in Purgatory, the only gods being eaten here are themselves.

GG Ninjas loot the bodies and use what's left as dummies to practice on them, to sharpen their blades, and to make fortification from the bonemeal. They all clean nicely, and its like a new kind of enchantment, the way the tools no longer seem to rust, the way their builds don't crack from the fickle moisture of the biome. It's a comfort taking in these small conveniences. It's better fighting, more efficient maneuvers, of lesser urges satiated.

Soulfire portions the cadavers, half for fertilizer to bless their special tea, with the other half to fuel the immortal hearth in their home. You can taste the raw lifeforce in the leaves, the flavorful leaves in the water of every cup, and the base's fire burns ever brighter. The smell of chemicals is a welcome break from the dulling nature of the icy chill. Here, the life that partook in creation and the creation that burned to be partaken are felt so intensely.

you know what makes me sad, every person ive seen talking about team bolas reaction to losing loved ones when team gay ninjas was eliminated either leaves out charile, or activly says hes the only one on the team who didnt lose anyone. but he did. slime and mike are canonically brothers.

imagine, imagine; you lost your older brother when you were very young, and through some strange twist of fate, you find each other again, and maybe youre not super close, but you know where he his, and you know hes ok. and then this compilation throws you on one team, him on aother, and the love of your life, who despite everything you always go back to on yet another. and you are forced to make a decision, and your whole team is standing with your brothers team, and you want to, but you have to stand by your esposa, and you do, but possibly at the cost of the brothers life. the brother you just got back. and maybe it doesnt hit you, just how much was at stake, not at first, or maybe it did, but when it does, or when you let yourself feel it?

fuck it i want to throw my hat into the ring: although bolas “won” purgatory (as much as anyone can win the game of a sadistic voyeur who calls you sinners and forces you to murder your friends and loved ones), it was team GGN that really SURVIVED it, and who overcame it. They were the ones who had moral codes, who only did what was necessary against their friends and who, even after their separation, had the most people on the boat back to the island when all was said and done. The Eye never broke their minds like Bolas, or their spirits like Soulfire. They played the game and got out of it when it was over and I don’t think it’s appreciated enough how much they took it into their stride.

I would say more but I can’t articulate my sheer amount of love for this team despite the fact they got “terminated” (I don’t think you can ever truly destroy a team with that much chemistry lmao - see q!Etoiles, q!Fit and q!Bagi in the resistance, q!Mouse and q!Fit’s interactions on and off Egg Island, the “big boy” nickname… and that’s just from a huevito perspective!!) , and I honestly think that it’s a testament to all of their characters that they made it to the boat to escape. q!Fit carrying q!Bagi, q!Roier acting on survival instincts and fighting his way to the boat despite leaving behind his family, q!Etoiles getting there at the last second, bringing up the flank behind his team,,,, i’m so normal abt them you’ve got to believe me im sooooo normal
