Don’t worry that your children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you. . . . You must have read that caption a 100 times below many instagram posts, I came across it, in a rather unpleasing way. It thought me a lesson. A lesson that lives on, with me every single day (painfully so) . . . The language of communication at my house is English. Myself, hubby, grandparents, every one essentially speaks English. But it wasn't so before we had kids. . . . We decided to make the switch for some strange reason and now have become used to it, for the sake of our kids. . . . I have a toddler who is a talking little human of 2.6 years. Initially he'd repeat everything we'd say. So it was easy to be cautious. But as he grew he's just absorbing the language. . . . One day his toy broke down and he said "oh $**#t toy broke down" I froze. Such a sweet little kid, with an even more sweeter voice, uttering such cuss words. . . . I was the one responsible for this. My husband came home and my boy kept using the word repeatedly, and he immediately knew where it came from. . . . And so i have been trying and trying since then to help him forget that word, substitute it for something else but all in vain. Nearest he goes to correction is "oh no, oh $**#t, toy broke down" . . . TABLICZKA MNOŻENIA NA KROPKACH Nie wiem, czy się u mnie znalazła przez pomyłkę, czy celowo, ale na wszelki wypadek, żebym nie musiała zwracać pochwalę się.Przyznać się kto zamawiał? Do tej pory za karty matematyczne zawsze płaciłam. Nie udało się uzyskać za darmo "na bloga," chociaż ładnie świeciłam oczami A tu nagle dwa dni temu paczuszka z WczesnaEdukacja Żadnego info, czy to jakiś gratis, czy nie. Aż się boję zapytać. WczesnaEdukacja zainspirowała się i wymyśliła całą tabliczkę mnożenia w ten sposób. Moja Maja już to wszystko widziała w postaci ciągów, ale coś tam próbujemy skakać i cieszy się. Standardowe prezentacje z kropkami już u nas nie przejdą na tym etapie. TEACHING MULTIPLICATION TABLES WITH DOTS I received the following cards although I hadn't ordered anything I am still wondering if this is a mistake or not but I am happy because so far I have always paid for maths flashcards although I tried to get something for free because of my blog. Maja had already seen all the quantities when we were doing number sequences but we started playing with these, mainly jumping. Let me love you a little more before you’re not little anymore. . . . Life with a toddler is interesting. They are so curious about everything around them. From the moment i take him out, i have to start talking, more like telling or explaining. . . . From talking about the lift and its blue lit buttons to the building gate and how big it is. And once on the road, about all the vehicles. . . . Describing each vehicle, its color, how fast it went, how many we saw, how we saw it yesterday too, with yaya (he calls his dad that, i don't know how he came up with it) . . . Construction vehicles are his favourite- the digger, the cement trucky, road roller, crane. Off late sanitation vehicles too like garbage trucky. Not once have i felt bored or ' not in a mood' to explain things to him. (Shocking, now that i think of it) . . . Infact when we go out, answering his questions is my most favourite part. I love the fact that he's so curious about his surroundings and always eager to learn. And mind you the recalling power kids have. I have to think twice before i can recall what he's talking about. . . . Its just a few more years, till i hear these questions. These queries. Then there will be silence. No more demands for hugs, no more bedtime story rituals. No holding hands and walking. (Most cherished). So go ahead mama's, with a new found vigour to love, to care, to do this everyday, till they don't need us anymore. . . . Let me love you a little more, before you're not little any more.
