Superman & Lois: Facts Con Special Adventure
Tyler Hoechlin was invited to FACTS 2023 in Ghent, Belgium. Since we were going to meet him, we wanted to give him a gift because Superman & Lois is one of our favorite shows, and both Tyler and Bitsie do an amazing job. So, after much thought, we realized that Tyler still didn't have his own comic of him as Superman and we decided that he should have one, even if it was a short short story. In this way we hired the cartoonist Daniel Mainé (Dynamite) and the colorist Manoli Martínez (Scout Comics, Action Labs...) to carry out this story that we hope you like.

how do i become a fan of the mariners
^ still coping with blaseball end. went to a couple games as a kid but all i remember is a player named raul
man baseball has helped me SO much with losing blaseball so i get that. start with the Dorktown Mariners doc, if you haven’t already! it’s on YouTube. it’s a history of the Mariners (and Seattle baseball in general) up to about 2019, so that’ll give you a good overview of the team (and how wild it is that the team even exists in the first place)
if you want to get to know the current team, there’s an excellent Mariners blog called Lookout Landing, and every season before Spring Training starts they do a series called 40 in 40 where they write 40 articles, one for each of the players on the Mariners 40-man roster. a handful of the players detailed here aren’t on the current 40-man (Ty Adcock and Taylor Trammell wound up on waivers and were picked up by other teams, Prelander Berroa, Blake Hunt, and Zach DeLoach were traded, and Matt Brash and Jackson Kowar both needed surgery and won’t be back until next season) but it’ll give you a fairly good overview of who’s here, particularly our main guys on the 26-man roster (so the guys who are active with the big league club)
Lookout Landing is just really great reading, in general - every article is truly well-written, from deep-dives into players and stats to write-ups on literally every single game the Mariners play. god, i gotta see if i can dig up my favorite article, gimme a sec…. ah! found it. it’s from a random July game, in a season where the Mariners would wind up finally, FINALLY making the playoffs for the first time in 21 years (thanks in large part to Cal Raleigh, who is featured prominently in the article, though of course we couldn’t know that at the time), and the end of it just… gets me every time.
speaking of Cal Raleigh, i would be remiss in not mentioning the Truth Meeting article - this all happened when Cal (and Logan Gilbert, one of the Mariners starting pitchers) were in the minors together, but it’s really good insight into the type of guy Cal is and the relationship he has with Logan (and other pitchers in general - he’s become such a leader with both the pitching staff AND the team as a whole and it’s been very cool to watch)
after that, if you wanna watch games, 🏴‍☠️ is gonna be your cheapest (aka free) options. i unfortunately don’t have a ton of insight into that front but i do know that options are out there. otherwise, if you’re in-market the Mariners are on Root Sports (which is carried by Comcast and Fubo, among others) and if you’re out-of-market you can watch them on MLB TV. both options have subscription fees, which can unfortunately be kinda pricey. if you’re a T-Mobile customer you can get a free MLB TV subscription, but it’s only available at the start of the season, so unfortunately it’s passed for this year. there’s also radio, which is free but i’m not 100% sure if you need to be local? (i’m assuming you’re probably local if you’re looking to get into the Ms + you mentioned Raul who i’m assuming is probably Raul Ibanez, but there’s lots of out-of-town Ms fans too so!) there’s an online option and also an app as well!
some other random Ms content:
Felix Hernandez’s perfect game is on YouTube
Tayler Saucedo (one of our relief pitchers) streams on Twitch - he’s more active during the offseason, obviously, but recently he’s been on the IL (has a minor knee injury and should be back pretty soon) and has been occasionally streaming DURING the games which has been pretty funny (he went viral on Mariners Twitter the other day for his reaction when we had a very exciting comeback win against the Yankees). he’s also a local guy who grew up an Ms fan so it’s been very cool to have him around!
Jen Mueller, one of the Mariners on-field reporters, has a YouTube series called “I Cook, You Measure” where she cooks and chats with various Seattle athletes, including some of the Mariners. so far she’s done episodes with Cal Raleigh, Logan Gilbert, Tayler Saucedo, Bryce Miller, Luis Castillo, and Bryan Woo, as well as former Mariners Mike Cameron and Tom Murphy (Tom was on the team when the episode was filmed but went to the Giants this season). there’s also the Bonus Bites which are just outtakes from the eps that are also really worth watching, there’s some fun stories in there!
okay uhhhh this is way longer than i anticipated it being so i’ll stop here but if you have any other questions lemme know! also if you ARE local and have any questions about coming to a game, the stadium, etc let me know as well, i basically live at T-Mobile Park during baseball season so i’ve got plenty of tips 😅

Minnesota Twins-Seattle Mariners Series Preview
7.17.23-Sonny Gray RHP (4-3) 2.89 ERA Vs. Logan Gilbert RHP (7-5) 3.66 ERA
7.18.23-Bailey Ober RHP (5-4) 2.61 ERA Vs. Bryan Woo RHP (1-1) 3.63 ERA
7.19.23-Kenta Maeda RHP (2-5) 5.50 ERA Vs. Luis Castillo RHP (6-7) 2.96 ERA
7.20.23-Pablo Lopez RHP (5-5) 4.24 ERA George Kirby RHP (8-8) 3.43 ERA
The Twins At A Glance- The Twins started the second half with a three-game sweep over the Oakland Athletics. The Indians were swept by the Rangers and the Twins extended their lead to 2.5 games over the weekend. The team now heads up to Seattle to play a good Mariners squad. The offense hit five homers over the weekend and put up twenty runs. Byron Buxton is 0-for-12 to start the second half. I think he’s been having a tough time at the DH spot full time. He’s not playing center field anytime soon though given his bad knee. Jorge Polanco started a rehab assignment with the Saints on Sunday and had two hits. Jose Miranda received an injection in his right shoulder and will be shut down for a week. Caleb Thielbar threw a 30-pitch bullpen session in St. Paul on July 16th. Brock Stewart has been playing catch from up to 90 feet. Jorge Alcala has started a throwing program and is expected back this season. The starting pitching struggled this weekend and the offense surprisingly carried this team to three wins. Jhoan Duran threw in all three games for a total of forty-seven pitches. He will be unavailable on Monday and possibly Tuesday. Griffin Jax didn’t throw on Sunday, so he’d probably be the closer on Monday. Jorge Lopez finally got a higher leverage spot on Sunday and got four outs.
The Mariners At A Glance- The Mariners hosted the All-Star Game last week and lost two out of three to the Tigers over the weekend. Seattle is (46-46) and five games out of a Wild-Card spot in the American League. JP Crawford has been one of the Mariners more consistent hitters. He is hitting .258 with eight homers and thirty-three RBI. Julio Rodriguez is having an All-Star year. He has thirteen homers and forty-nine RBI. Teoscar Hernandez leads the team with fifteen homers. The pitching staff has had some injuries for the Mariners. Robbie Ray underwent Tommy John surgery in June and Marco Gonzales has an elbow injury and is making progress back. The Seattle rotation has a 3.79 ERA, which is fifth-best in baseball. The Mariners bullpen owns a 3.62 ERA, which is fourth-best in MLB. Paul Sewald has locked down eighteen saves with a 3.13 ERA. Ty Adcock has given up one run over thirteen innings. Tayler Saucedo has struck out twenty-six over 25 2/3 innings from the left side. Andres Munoz has fanned twenty-five over seventeen innings of work.
What To Watch For- The Twins went (4-3) against the Mariners last season. The two teams split a four-game series to start the season and the Twins won two of three in Seattle. Sonny Gray is (5-3) with a 2.73 ERA in fourteen starts against the Mariners. Teoscar Hernandez has two career homers off Gray. Logan Gilbert has allowed a run over eleven innings against the Twins. Bailey Ober has a 4.00 ERA in two starts versus the M’s. Kenta Maeda gave up a run over four innings in his lone start against Seattle. Luis Castillo has a 8.18 ERA in three starts against the Twins. Pablo Lopez has never faced the Mariners. Bryan Woo and George Kirby have never faced the Twins. The Twins have a winnable series ahead of them and even a sweep would be fine before returning home for a week.

Kacy Clemens drew a walk in his professional debut at Nat Bailey Stadium Thursday.
The Vancouver Canadians went for the series sweep but had to settle for two out of three instead as the Everett AquaSox salvaged the series finale with a 5-1 win Thursday afternoon at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Dalton Rodriguez enjoyed a strong first two innings by retiring the side 1-2-3 in the first and striking out the side in the second. The Sox then struck for three runs in the third when Joseph Rosa cleared the bases with a three-run double. Rodriguez sat down the next seven hitters but was burned by a Brayan Hernandez home run to put Everett ahead 4-0. Miguel Burgos took over the mound after that.
Meantime, the C’s had their chances to score in the third, fourth and fifth innings.
Lance Jones worked a two-out walk in the third and scampered to third when Deiferson Barreto reached on a two-base error at first but Norberto Obeso—who had Vancouver’s first hit in the first—would ground out to second.
Vancouver loaded the bases in the fourth on an Owen Spiwak single and a pair of walks from Kacy Clemens and Mattingly Romanin with two outs but Reggie Pruitt flied out to left.
The C’s loaded them up again with one out in the fifth on Barreto and Lizardo walks sandwiching an Obeso single but Javier Hernandez would rap into a 4-3 double play against Everett reliever Cody Mobley, who took over for starter Jose Santiago.
Everett added one more run against Burgos in the seventh on a Brayan Hernandez RBI single. Brayden Bouchey kept the AquaSox at bay by retiring all six men he faced—including a pair of strikeouts—over the final two frames.
Vancouver would get their only run in the ninth when Pruitt got aboard on an error at third, stole second base and scored on a Jones single off Ted Hammond. Brock Lundquist pinch-ran for Jones in his Northwest League debut but was erased at second on a fielder’s choice by Barreto. The game would end on an Obeso groundout.
Vancouver had just four hits and left 11 men on base after just one hit in six at-bats with runners in scoring position.
C-Notes
Three C’s from the Opening Day roster have been reassigned. Righthanded reliever Jared Carkuff has been promoted to the Lansing Lugnuts while shortstop Jesus Severino and catcher Yorman Rodriguez have been sent to Bluefield for the start of their Appalachian League season.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Carkuff pitched three scoreless frames over two appearances, scattering two hits and a hit by pitch while striking out three.
  This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Severino was 0-for-6 with a walk over two contests. Rodriguez had four hits in 21 at-bats with a double in five games. A 2015 Vancouver Canadians pitcher is also on the move as lefty Tayler Saucedo has been promoted to Dunedin from Lansing.
The C’s continue their homestand Friday, Saturday and Sunday when the Spokane Indians come to town. Game times are 7:05 pm for the first two games and 1:05 pm Sunday afternoon. The probable starters have been been announced but going by the first turn through the six-man rotation, it may be Kyle Weatherly, Wilfri Aleton and Dany Jimenez.

I normally eat eggs but I want to eat vegan for breakfast
I normally eat eggs but I want to eat vegan for breakfast.
Vegan Recipe Ideas, Old egg habits die hard. For years you may have scrambled, fried, poached, or boiled as part of your morning breakfast routine. Now you are looking to cut out the eggs and find an alternative that still tastes good, still has great texture, and still gives you that warm full, high in protein feel. Well we have some epic ideas to get you going. Below are 5 sure fire recipes to get you feeling bright and sparky in the moring. Enter the vegan heart starters (add coffee for best results).
1. Chickpea Omelette
This protein-packed plant-based omelette is quick and easy to make and can be customized to your specific tastes, making it a delicious breakfast option for any day of the week!
Servings: 1
Cook     Time: 10     minutes
Prep     Time: 5     minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
1/2 cup     chickpea flour
2     tablespoons nutritional yeast
1     teaspoon turmeric
1/4     teaspoon baking soda
1/2     cup plant-based milk of your choice (unsweetened, original)
1/4 cup     vegetables of your choice
Sea     salt & pepper to taste
Directions
Mix the     chickpea flour, nutritional yeast, turmeric, baking soda, and salt &     pepper together in a bowl.
Add the     plant-based milk of your choice and whisk until there are no visible     lumps. Let sit.
Chop     vegetables of your choice and saute them in a frying pan until lightly     browned. Some of my favourite vegetables for this recipe are bell peppers,     mushrooms, onions, and spinach. Once cooked, remove the vegetables from     the frying pan and put to the side.
Pour     the chickpea batter into a lightly oiled or nonstick frying pan on medium     heat. The batter should be spread out in the frying pan and resemble one     crepe-like shape.
Sprinkle     the cooked vegetables on top while the batter is still wet
The     omelette should cook from the bottom upwards so you won’t need to flip it.     Just keep an eye on the pan and turn down the heat if necessary to ensure     that the bottom does not burn.
Once     cooked throughout, fold the omelette in half and serve!
Notes
You can     use water instead of plant-based milk if you would like. Feel free to get     creative with different chopped vegetables inside of the omelette as well     as toppings – some additional toppings that work well are salsa, avocado,     vegan cheese, and/or hummus!
Recipe Creator Name: Tayler Hernandez Country: Canada More from Tayler: @plantifulparadise
