Environmental engineer and public health consultant Dr. Tamer Al-Najjar reports that despite the occupation’s attempt to destroy it, the Indonesian Hospital will be back to operation within the next few weeks. Work is also already underway to return Al-Shifa Hospital to operation, which we have seen from the social media accounts of staff members.

There is never a time to lose hope, but especially not now. Gaza lives, and Palestine WILL be free in our lifetimes.

In the second, smoke continues to rise from destroyed buildings. In the third, where once stood a building is now a giant crater filled with jagged concrete shreds and twisted metal.

Since the earliest hours of the morning, environmental engineer Dr. Tamer Al-Najjar has been reporting that Jabaliya is experiencing

-widespread and violent ground clashes between the IOF and resistance forces

-artillery shelling (tanks, ground missile launchers, etc) by the IOF

-intensified widespread aerial bombardment by the IOF

-increased presence of IOF warplanes flying overhead

These have been taking place for many days, but appear to have increased since about midnight last night, and continue to this very minute.

Environmental Engineer Dr. Tamer Al-Najjar reports the onset of very violent and widespread bombing across north Gaza tonight.

The Arabic text in the first post reads “!!قصف عنيف جداً”, meaning “very violent bombing!!”.

The Arabic text in the second post reads “سياسة الأحزمة النارية قوات الاحتلال تشن عدد كبير من الغارات والأحزمة النارية العنيفة شمال القطاع ...”, which he translates into English as “Occupation forces launch a large number of intense and widespread aerial bombardments in the northern Gaza Strip!!”

How is the situation in North Gaza?

The situation in North is tough, painful, extremely exhausting, and terrifying, hanging between hunger and attack!!

How? Wasn't there a withdrawal of incursion?

Indeed, there was a withdrawal, and thousands roamed amidst the rubble. However, the incursion resumed, and intense clashes resumed as well!

Whether there's an incursion or not, we face a Starvation war, siege, and continuous bombardment!!

How is the situation on the ground?

Extremely intense clashes in north and west of the Strip, continuous explosions, ongoing bombardment, displacement, destruction!!

What's the news on negotiations?

Ceasefire talks are ongoing, and the situation is complicated, balancing between a temporary truce and conditions that could undermine the cause, or a complete cessation with terms that could revive the people and the nation!

So, what about the people?

Those leading the negotiations are the sons of this people, fully aware of our cause and paramount interests, and what preserves our rights and blood!

Journalist Momin Abu Owda documents the accumulation of waste due to the IOF’s sabotage of waste treatment facilities in Gaza. He reports that unless fuel is allowed into north Gaza that will enable the partial resumption of waste management practices, the area faces even more dire environmental and public health concerns. This has also been spoken about at length by environmental engineer Dr. Tamer Al-Najjar, who warned of the impacts the IOF’s infrastructural sabotage campaign, and has now fallen seriously ill to the diseases he tried to warn the world about.

The vicious siege of Jabaliya continues. The bombardment is constant as IOF troops surround Tamer Al-Najjar’s location. This is his latest update on Instagram.

Coverage of the massacre in Jabaliya has waned after a partial/temporary withdrawal of ground troops in *some* areas, while the bombardment on the south has increased. This has given people the impression that the violence has mostly stopped in north Gaza, but this is not at all true. Nearly 800,000 people in north Gaza are still under attack, with no medical care, no food, no water, and no safe place to shelter.

Environmental engineer Dr. Tamer Al-Najjar reports a growing outbreak of hepatitis in north Gaza. He and his colleagues warned of this months ago, when the occupation fully cut off Gaza from water and directly targeted water and waste management infrastructure. He writes,

In the northern Strip, a condition known as "Jaundice of the Liver" is prevalent, referring to the initial stages of infection with Hepatitis A due to a dangerous mix of pollution, food and sugar scarcity, and poor water quality.

Environmental engineer Dr. Tamer Al-Najjar reports that on his way to work to on repairing Gaza’s water infrastructure, he came across a group of people who tried to grab his attention. Upon approaching them, he found a severely injured young man, who had been hit by a falling airdropped package. Tamer transported the young man to the nearest hospital, but he would succumb to his injuries.

An open letter from Dr. Tamer Al-Najjar, a professor and consultant in Environmental Engineering in Gaza. Before October 7th, he was a respected and in-demand expert on hydrologic engineering. He describes what his life is like now.

Nothing will Ever be the same Again

It will never be easy at all to return and continue living normally after this war has shattered everything in our hearts, our trust in the world the countries around us, the books, history, strategic plans, and more!!

How should I go back to work as an environmental engineering expert, dealing with climate change and sustainability goals? While all my international memberships couldn’t protect me from the shelling and killing!

How can I participate in conferences and research journals about resource and water supply management in conflict zones? None of it granted me at least the minimal requirements of water as recommended by the WHO.

And how can I continue designing sustainable buildings for clients in Eastern and Western countries and interact with people as if nothing has happened when the entire world has let us down?

A million ‘hows’ I pose, and I find no logical answers for them in this context!!

A million research papers, books, and volumes have been crafted by the West in major international conferences, summits, and meetings about the concepts of international law, human rights, food and water security, green economics, gender equality, environmental project empowerment, and entrepreneurship. In Gaza, we are a part of it, seeking alignment and keeping up with global progress.

Now, all of it has lost its value; all of it is reduced to zero, devoid of meaning altogether. How can it hold any value when I used to train in international projects on strategic planning, sustainable project management, and gender equality in many subjects and do research on water and food security, among other topics? I now only seek survival. Just survival!

It has become futile, with no purpose left. This is our new reality.

In the sixth month of the War and with 10 days of the blessed month of Ramadan, northern Gaza faces a fierce onslaught, extensive bombardment, and ground incursions in several axes, as if it were the first days of the ongoing genocide, with the added dimensions of siege and starvation !!

The War enters a new chapter as Attacks and clashes resume in the north of the Strip amidst a new ground incursion ..

but this time targeting a few thousand resilient individuals "- 500" facing siege, hunger, thirst, and under fire ..
