Rik at Midhope. Told you he was in Blood of my Blood. Yes it’s the same anon 😉
He’ll be in it as Roger Mac.
Rankin in BOMB Anon #1 Anon #2 (15 December 2023)
Tumblr media
Thanks for the message, Anon. 😃 This is your third in a series. In anticipation of hearing from you again, I shall call you Rankin In BOMB Anon From The Midhope Set AKA Lallybroch, or Hey, You! for short.
When Starz first announced Outlander: Blood of My Blood, many of us wondered if Jamie Fraser would narrate the story of his parents’ romance. Are you telling us Roger Mac the historian is narrating? Or, since you mentioned time travel is involved, are you telling us Roger somehow oops! or purposely goes through the stones to circa 1716? 🍿
Tumblr media
Colour me intrigued. Thanks for returning, Hey, You! Hope to hear from you again… and would consider posting any pics or other casting scoops you might share.
Remember when Roger met Brian Fraser in 1716 1738?

Live Design: What was your inspiration for the look of this tour?
AJ Pen [MCR return tour lighting and set designer]: The look of the tour was inspired directly by the artist… twice! My Chemical Romance’s management sent me an image—a tableau from a dance piece in some small black box theatre—and I created a brief animation of a set piece with some lighting looks inspired by this image. We scheduled a meeting with Gerard Way, the band's singer and author of the Dark Horse Comics “Umbrella Academy” series. Gerard immediately saw potential in the kernel of the design and together we fleshed out a scene that depicted souls on earth climbing up to an angel that would hang above and behind the band. Just as TAIT began to engineer the touring set pieces, we received word that there would be a new design direction and we needed to get cracking on something more… dystopian.

Have CO BIF debunk
Is this a question? Am I missing something? Please elaborate further Anon and explain your intended meaning. I don't set foot in those blogs you've mentioned but if you're asking if they've been debunked then I'd say hell yeah!!!! Shippers have debunked their bullshit long ago and continue to debunk. The funeral debunked all Tait propaganda. It's finito Benito. We're just waiting paintently here for Sam and Cait to realise their attempts to conceal are now in vain and utterly useless because this 👇

Robert Tait at The Guardian:
Donald Trump has told a group of wealthy donors that he will crush pro-Palestinian protests on university campuses if he is returned to the White House. The former president and presumptive Republican nominee called the demonstrations against Israel’s war in Gaza part of a “radical revolution” and promised the predominantly Jewish donors that he would set the movement back 25 or 30 years if they helped him beat Joe Biden in November’s presidential election. “If you get me re-elected, we’re going to set that movement back 25 or 30 years,” Trump replied, according to the Washington Post, which first reported the event.
Trump also said his administration would expel any foreign students found to be taking part in the protests, which have recently taken the form of tented encampments in colleges across the US. Addressing the meeting in New York on 14 May, Trump heard one donor complain that many of the students and faculty academics taking part in the protests could, in future, hold positions of power in the US. He praised New York police for clearing the encampments at Columbia University and said the approach should be emulated by other cities, adding: “It has to be stopped now.” Republicans have increasingly sought to make the campus protests an election issue, depicting them as a manifestation of “chaos” rampaging unchecked on Biden’s watch.
Donald Trump told wealthy donors that he'll crush pro-Palestinian protests against Israel's genocidal attacks on Gaza if he is elected again.
Trump promised the donors that he'll help set the pro-Palestine movement back 25 or 30 years and order the deportation of foreign nationals who attended pro-Palestine protests as part of his unconditional support for the Israel Apartheid State.
This is why defeating Trump is a moral imperative, even if Joe Biden is also willing to cozy up to Israel.

Music to Write to Master List
I rely very heavily on music when I'm writing and have curated a handful of playlists over the years and discovered several albums that really help me get into Writing Mode and set the scene. I thought I'd put together a post sharing some of my favorite instrumentals. (These sources are also fantastic for wandering around aimlessly while intensely daydreaming, btw. I know this from personal experience)
Everything under a cut, since this will be long. All included links will redirect to Spotify, but I'll include titles and artists so they can be found elsewhere.
I AM CRAFTING AN ENTIRE CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE IN MY HEAD, AND I NEED THE SOUNDTRACK TO BE...
Full of beauty/emotion/hope
• The Musical Journey by Jonas B. Ingebretsen: cannot stress enough how much I love this one. It's the entire hero's journey in a single album. It is PERFECT for sending your little Mind Blorbos on a quest. Highly recommend listening to it in order and all the way through. His recent album, The Musical Journey Pt 2 is also great.
• Pinnacle by Steven Coltart and Marcus Warner: Some gorgeous music in here. In particular, "Stories of Hope" and "Earth" are two of my favorites.
• Coming Home by Soundcritters
• The First Five Years by Denny Schneidemesser
• Emotion by Keith Merrill
• Unfolding Beauty by Stephen Tait & Tom Tideway
• Letters From Earth by Colossal Trailer Music
Tinged with sadness and full of longing
• A Way Home and The Traveler by Omar Raafat
• Disaster is Restless by The Defiant Heart
• Better by Now and Somewhere Else by From Somewhere Quiet
• Drift Ten by The Echelon Effect
• The Stories We Forgot by Andreas Kubler
• Believe by James Paget
Jam-packed with action
• Epic Action: Fight to the Last Ship, Distorted: Rock and a Hard Place, Strength to Believe, and Blaze of Glory by Epic Score: these are just 4 of the over 40 albums they have, so seriously, check them out for all your action and adventure needs. The Rock and a Hard Place one is a top fave of mine.
• Grimoire by Soundcritters
• Time Traveller by Peter Roe
• Future Heroes III by Future Heroes
Rife with crimes/mysteries/secret missions
• Crimescene by Soundcritters
• The Truth Has Been Redacted and Conviction by Luke Richards
• Crime Thriller Score by Dylan Love
• Mission Tension 1 and Mission Tension 2 by Stephen Tait
• Mystery Solved: Film Noir Detective Jazz by Various Artists
Filled with pirates/generally take place on the water
• Drowning Abyss by Colossal Trailer Music
• Set Sail for the Golden Age by Anti Martikainen
• Oceans by Marcus Warner
Whimsical/weird
• Pizz and Pieces 2 and Pizz and Pieces 3 by Thomas Howe, Stephen Tait, and Tom Tideway: Please listen to these, please please they are so delightful and bouncy and perfect for characters Partaking in Shenanigans
• Awkward Comedy Beds also by Stephen Tait and Thomas Howe: I have no idea what that title means but the music is amazing and silly plz listen
• Pomp and Whimsy and Pomp and Whimsy 2 by Howe/Tait (from above) and Alexander Rudd: for when you want silly antics but like...more proper. "Mischief at the Manor" and "A Royal Kerfuffle" delight me.
• You know what? This whole list is from these same artists, so just check it all out. Special shout out to How Very British and Cheeky Beats
Yeehaw! Giddyup! and so on
• High Noon: Vintage Cowboy Music of the Old West by Various Artists

• 50s and 60s Wild Guitar Instrumentals by Various Artists
• 60s Instrumentals for Dances and Groovers by Various Artists
• 70s Instrumental Greatest Hits by Various Artists
• 80s Instrumental Greatest Hits by Various Artists
Sorry, no 90s because I didn't like any of the instrumental collections
BONUS!
• Music That Hurts by Me: a collection of some of my favorite instrumental pieces that make me feel like I've been punched in the gut and am being turned inside out. But you know. In a good way. Favorites include "Sometimes" by Goldmund, "Places I Remember" by Kristoffer Wallin, and "Stop Everything! It's Snowing" by Good Weather for an Airstrike (that last one in particular is good at making me sob for some reason)
• Writing by Me: This is my gigantic writing playlist that contains a huge mix of some of my favorite "mellow" instrumentals. Many of the above listed artists are on it, but it contains, um...a whole lot more. It's 102 hours long, and has assisted me through many a writing session over the years.
And there you go. I hope that other writers & daydreamers find some things they can take from here and add to their own playlists :)

some highlights from the convention this weekend:
forgetting to check nametags and ending up playing pinball against Andrew C. Robinson
... having a rematch the next day.
... and the next.
him asking about my SFX makeup - a conversation which ended in him following me on Instagram
and encouraging Cary Nord to follow me as well
1.29% of all my Instagram followers are now made up of Marvel comic artists (I do not have a lot of followers)
Andrew giving me a bunch of extra prints and a couple art books at the end of the con
and offering to network me with some of his propmaking and wardrobe friends in LA since I'm working on getting into the special effects industry
dare I say we're friends now?
setting a new high score on the Venom pinball machine
getting to chat with my theatre friend who was an invited panelist (he's a cosplayer)
competing in my first cosplay contest! I lost, but I got to show off my mechanical hand prop
meeting Tait Fletcher
watching my sister beat Tait Fletcher's high score on Ms. Pac-Man
...then watching him utterly crush her score in one attempt
receiving a very wonderful film-tech pep talk from Chris Bartlett, urging me to keep making props and just dive in since that's how he ended up on Star Wars
he also complimented my Donald Pierce hand :)
meeting Tony Daniels and geeking out about X-Men
didn't have the budget to drop 40 bucks on an autograph but it was really awesome to talk to him
getting signed prints from Tim Townsend, Andrew Robinson, and Todd Nauck
Tim Townsend's print is the OG 5 X-Men so it's got my boy Angel of course :D
getting to play a super neat indie platformer demo (i'm gonna buy the full game for sure)
freaking out a bunch of comic artists with my Corinthian makeup
....including Chris Bachalo
HE asked for a picture with ME because he was so impressed with the makeup! :)
chatting with more comic artists, showing off my tattoo, chatting about the process of sketching and inking
picking up some neat Venom and X-Men earrings
winning a cool articulated snake from this 3D printing claw machine
getting to chat with some really cool craftsmen and collectors at the vending booths
overall just having a really wonderful time!

Edith Sitwell
A Unicorn Amongs Lions
Victoria Glendinning
Weidenfeld & Nicholson, London 1981, 393 pages, 20 illustrated pages, 13 x 20 cm, ISBN  0297778013
euro 30,00
email if you want to buy [email protected]
Freed from her unhappy homelife, Edith Sitwell set up home in a shabby London flat: she became one of the best-known 1920s pioneering poets. Victoria Glendinning presents a biography of a woman known for her eccentricity and gothic appearance.
Her looks attracted Cecil Beaton and the principal painters of the day. Among her friends were Aldous Huxley, T.S. Eliot, and Gertrude Stein. She rebuffed Wyndham Lewis and ardently loved the temperamental Russian painter, Pavel Tchelitchew. The 1930s she spent in penury, writing fiction, biography and verse. Only when Yeats hailed her as 'a major poet' did her work reach a wider audience, whereupon Edith Sitwell set off to conquer New York and Hollywood.
Winner of the Duff Cooper Prize and James Tait Black Memorial Prize for Biography, this is the definitive portrait of a spontaneous, gallant, yet tragically insecure woman.
'The excellence of Mrs Glendinning's book is that it remains wise and balanced while never sacrificing critical edge... It's hard to imagine a life of Edith Sitwell that could surpass it.' John Carey, "Sunday Times"

The series [Illustrations of Political Economy by Harriet Martineau] was immensely popular: by 1834 it 'was selling ten thousand monthly copies while by contrast John Stuart Mill's Principles of Political Economy (1848) sold a mere three thousand copies in four years' (Pichanick, 1980, p. 50). However, we could be forgiven for assuming that this ‘success’ of a woman writer in a new and closely guarded male sphere was of little consequence. ‘The simplicity and ease of Martineau's style was one of her greatest assets, and it accounted in part for her success as a journalist. Nevertheless it is difficult for the modern reader to readily appreciate the reasons for the success of her Illustrations’ (ibid., p. 53). Besides, she herself ‘never laid claim to the title of economist and she was aware that she was merely the popularizer of other people's ideas. Her knowledge of economics was superficial, impressionistic, and often ill-digested’ (ibid., p. 19), but (and note the contradiction) 'meticulously basing her diligent little volumes on the principles set out in James Mill's Elements of Political Economy and on standard works like The Wealth of Nations and Malthus Essay on Population, she conscientiously included in her narratives every aspect of her subject. She utilized government blue books and the library of the House of Commons, and she relied on the advice of friendly experts like Francis Place, Joseph Hume and William Tait' (ibid., p. 53).
As at this stage there was no formal training available in economics, no degree course or institution devoted to its study, it remains a mystery to me how one could have become an economist by any means other than those used by Harriet Martineau. What claim to fame did these other 'economists' have, John Stuart Mill included, that Harriet did not, apart from their sex? Because they are male they are economists; because she is a female, the derivative sex, she is but a publiciser of their ideas.
What Harriet Martineau was doing, that the men were not - and I think it is most significant - was trying to make much of this new and powerful knowledge generated by men, which until that time had been kept within the confines of a small privileged circle, to invest it with her own 'original' refinement, and to make it available to all who could read. She got rid of the 'trimmings' so condemned by Frances Wright and made her contribution to the social sciences in the process. But, as Wright asserted (and as many feminists today appreciate), little respect is given to those who do not play the 'mystifying' game and who instead insist on the knowledgeability of all human beings and who attempt to make knowledge accessible to them.

She’s just good at hiding what’s she truly like!
And before people attack me for this, I’ve been sent endless Reddit, Twitter, TikTok and tumblr posts about what she was like on set and in person
Wonder if Harry knows or is aware. Would it explain his behaviour when she is around? Shouldn't it not only turn him off but also make him stop being associated with her?
I'd say he's a smart guy, but if he ignores her true taits or is blinded by her fakeness and still hangs out with her, I'll start having my doubts.
He probably is! When he’s in a contract then he’s stuck until it’s over

Antis saying C would leave Glasgow as soon as Outlander ends....and now a tait property appears lol...Tony doesn't live in Scotland...is not so difficult to research
Really Anon? Where does he live? Who is Tony? The man is a bloody ghost...a mirage. As for the Tait property, if anyone in their right mind actually thinks that Cait would be so reckless and nonchalant about her home address being public, we're talking about a woman who won't even provide a name publicly for her child, a woman who is mega concerned about the 'crazies' and wanting to protect her son. Ms Privacy all of a sudden hasn't taken the necessary measures to ensure that a property that she and Mr McShy own together doesn't become public fodder? Bullshit. It wreaks of a diversion. Just like Cawdermill house. You'd be about as sharp as a bowling ball if you actually think Sam has set up home at Cawdermill.
Ms Privacy who thought it pertinent to discuss in her VF interview that some fans are so nuts that that they hired a Private Investigator to determine whether her marriage to Tony was real, now shows the very same crazies that she owns a property with McMirage. Knowing very well there are some that will go on a little stalking expedition to find out. Sounds like a setup to me. A green light to stalk.
I haven't actually checked to see if said joint property ownership exists but I'll take everyone's word for it. Ms Paranoid put out a fraudulent MC, putting her and Tony's name on a property title is like brushing her teeth. Normal in her world.
