The soft glow of his phone illuminated Taemin's face in the dimly lit room as he absentmindedly scrolled through his Instagram feed. It had been a while since he last checked up on old acquaintances, but tonight, curiosity led him to explore what his closest one had been up to.

Your group’s Instagram account had posted individual teaser images for each member. Mood samplers, and hints of your comback’s album concept had been showing up on his feed more frequently which excited him. SM Entertainment was all about not reusing concepts within a group, but seeing one that he’s done fit your image so well surprised him.

He had always looked forward to updates about you on your group’s official account after having unfollowed each other’s personal accounts on the social media platform after your breakup. It was a mutual decision to do so. While the grounds of said breakup were on the pleasant side, you both figured that you would distance yourselves moving forward so as to have the topic of your relationship be of lesser significance.

You’ve heard of interviewers constantly bringing up the previous relationships of other idols that have dated within the industry and have decided to take the proper precautions to prevent it from happening.

You had dated when you were both so new to the world of being a performer. You had both been regular guests on a variety show that was shot over the span of half a year and bonded over your similar experiences of going to school while preparing for your debut and the freedom that you had missed to do things outside of the idol life. You were both such close friends, and Taemin has always been the type to fall for someone fast. It was only natural that you would end up dating.

And maybe that was a mistake. Taemin has already apologized for his behavior in his youth recently, but you had expressed that it was understandable. Being young, not knowing how to manage one’s romantic expectations while managing their partner’s, and constantly being jealous, he apologized for it all. You had also fallen short as your schedules just never seemed to meet anymore, but Taemin really wished it had worked out. Sometimes, he still does and occasionally talks about it to his other members or his manager.

There was truly nothing that either of you could have done for each other while maintaining a steady career, and so you parted ways but remained civil whenever you both had obligations to meet for various events. You stayed out of each other’s inner circle to help with the other’s “cleaner image.”

And you had intended for it to stay that way, until that singular interaction caused an uproar in both yours and his fandom.

Because he had liked a post from your group’s account.

Specifically the post that had featured you individually.

You’re not really sure how it happened so quickly, but it did. One liked post birthed many rumors and questions on Taemin’s sudden interest. Many fans weren’t even aware of the past you two had shared. It was only because this event that compilations and pictures of the both of you from your early debut days had been revived and revisited by many. Fans and those that weren’t.

It didn’t help that various fan accounts worked tirelessly to create mesmerizing edits of Taemin and you side by side, stoking the flames of speculation. The digital realm became a canvas for your imagined reunion, and before long, rumors began to circulate about the possibility of the former flames reigniting their romance.

Taemin, blissfully unaware of the storm brewing on social media, continued his routine. His manager hadn’t even informed him about the situation, and it seemed like none of his other members knew about it either until the start of their V Live.

Comments instantly flooded the platform that at first confused them all.

“‘Taemin and Y/n are so cute,’” Key had read aloud as the comment was in English and immediately made a face at the youngest.

“Yah, Taemin-ah, what did you do this time?” He tried to play it off as a normal situation, fully expecting him to play along like he usually does when they tease Minho, but he saw no recognition in his face.

“Eh?” Taemin looked up at Key and had his normal smile and then looked at the camera with an innocent look on his face.

“They’re asking about Y/n. They’re saying you two are cute, what did you talk about this time? You fool!” Key shot back with furrowed brows as he explained the question in Korean which only confused the maknae more.

Minho and Onew looked at each other for a moment before attempting to move closer to the screen to try and see what the other comments were saying, making Key and Taemin do the same.

After spotting a quickly passing comment, Minho let out a laugh. “Yah, Taemin-ah! W-What are you doing liking a girl-group’s post by yourself?” Minho laughed out as he smacked Taemin’s arm after reading the explanation from a stray comment.

He knew about him still liking you, but for him to make such a rookie mistake like that was so cute to the idol athlete as he continued to assault the younger one.

Taemin still looked shocked though as he can barely remember committing such an incriminating act. “I didn’t know!”

“How can you say that with such an innocent face when your like is still here?” Key showed your group’s post with just you on it after quickly searching it up. This evidence couldn’t have been doctored either as it was your official post with Taemin’s official personal account under, “liked by.”

“I didn’t know!” He kept laughing despite his shocked face and kept waving his hand as he looked at literally anyone who would meet his eyes in the room. Onew joined Minho as he laughed while Key just sneered and continued to read other comments that had nothing to do with Taemin at all. Those of which were scarce.

Deciding to embrace the situation, Taemin decided to send you a message while they were still live. In a lighthearted tone, he acknowledged the chaos unfolding online and expressed amusement at the fan-created narratives. You had responded similarly and apologized for the unwanted attention which he denied and said that it was fine.

This interaction did nothing to quell the rumors however.

Recognizing the need to address the situation, Taemin’s management team and yours had asked to hold a meeting asking about how the both of you would like to stir the news. They had suggested creating a joint statement clarifying the nature of your current relationship, but the other option seemed to catch both yours and his attention.

“Taemin is releasing a new album soon. Based on the fans’ mostly positive reaction to the rumor, why not just pretend like you’re dating? It will surely push the publicity of blth of your comebacks out there.”

however, soobin was not pleased when he found out the song was going to be junny and chungha's color me. "do you really have to dance this song with him?" soobin asks putting down your phone.

"i have no choice, they won't let us record our own song, and our other option was heart stop by taemin and seulgi." you tell him sighing plopping besides him, "so, how was the dance?"

soobin nods, "i just wish he didn't look at you like he wanted to-"

you cut him off and laugh, "trust me babe, you have nothing to worry about." you tell him placing a kiss on his lips, "i should get ready for bed though, tomorrow is our stage."

"soob baby, i only love you okay? who cares if hyunjin and i are getting shipped, i only want you." you tell him kissing him as you unbuttoned your shirt.

"people are already changing their usernames to your ship name, y/n what do you expect me to feel expect jealousy?" soobin sighs.

"do you trust me babe?" you ask pulling on a hoodie.

soobin nods and stands up putting his hands on your waist, "i trust you, but i don't trust him, what if he ends up liking you?"

"that doesn't mean i'll end up liking him back." you assure him cupping his cheek and then kissing him, "plus, i would be a fool to leave someone like you."

"i just wish i could tell the world you're mine." soobin tells you with a pout.

you laugh and fix the collar on his shirt, "i wish i could tell the world as well."

"so, tell me again how much you love me?" soobin teases smiling.

Taemin perked up when he heard a familiar voice, looking around for the source. His manager noticed his confusion and gestured over to the TV. A music video was playing, and then he knew why he recognized the voice. It was yours, your beautiful voice and face on the screen. You were having a comeback. He didn’t keep up with your activities, but it seemed that this song had gone viral and was being played everywhere. His manager was about to change it, but he was okay with letting it play. It’s been a long while since he’s heard you sing.

“Shoulda gave you all my hours, when I had the chance…”

The video showed you going around with who seemed to be playing as your boyfriend. You were going on dates, but after a moment it would show you doing all these things alone. It was a bit amusing, given that this was all familiar to him. This was a heartbreak song after all. He understood the words, the meaning they held, and who it was meant for. He couldn’t help but wonder if your fans knew who this was about too. The older ones probably did, but the newer ones may not.

“Now I’ll never, never get to clean up the mess I made, and that haunts me every time I close my eyes…”

This song was one of your originals. Something you had probably been working on for years, and were only able to release it now. Your contract had been up for renewal recently, so you probably negotiated for this, and more. Although it made him wonder, if this song was going viral, was that a good thing or a bad thing.

“Although it hurts, I’ll be the first to say, I was wrong, I know I’m probably much too late to try and apologize for my mistakes but I just want you to know…”

Taemin was interrupted out of his thoughts when his stylist told him that they were done and he was ready to go. He finished dressing, glancing over at TV to see the end of it all. You had some flowers in your hand, walking in a garden when you spotted your ex-boyfriend with another. The flowers fell to the floor, the petals scattering in the wind.

“I hope she buys you flowers, I hope she holds your hand, gives you all her hours when she has the chance, takes you to every party ‘cause I remember how much you love to dance… do all the things I should’ve done, when I was with you… do all the things I should’ve done… when I was with you…”

“Hm?”

“You seem a little bit out of it.”

“I’m fine…”

“It’s the video isn’t it?”

“What are you talking about?”

“Anyone who knows anything about anything knows that song was about you.” His manager said. “Don’t know why she’s dragging this all up to the surface now but-

“I’m fine.”

“Taemin, I’m not asking cause I want to bring this up, but… one of your upcoming schedules is with her.”

“What?”

“It’s a variety show, and she was a last minute addition due to her song going viral. Your schedules never lined up back then, so this would be a first, but I understand if you don’t want to do it. There’s no problem canceling. More attention would be on her anyway.”

“I’m not canceling.”

“Taemin-”

“It’s all in the past anyway. I have no problem facing her.”

“Are you sure about this?”

“Yes. I can’t avoid her forever anyway, not in this industry.”

Taemin was trying to be strong, but he was nervous. He hadn’t seen you in so long he wasn’t sure what you’d be like. Upon arriving at the location he saw that his dressing room was right next to yours. He could hear his manager already making a fuss about it but he said nothing. That is until he walked in and found some flowers on the table. Taemin didn’t pay them any mind and began preparing for the show. He was a bit nervous whenever he heard a knock, expecting you, but it never was. He thought he’d see you before the show, but instead he saw you when he went to the stage. You were sitting next to each other.

“Hi, Taemin, it’s nice to see you again.”

“Yeah.”

The show went on as he expected. He had done many of these before. It was a bit strange to be here with you though, given that he never shared a stage with you. His gaze couldn’t help but linger on you, seeing you smile and laugh. You had gotten good at the whole idol business. After all the games and pranks everyone was winding down. That’s when the host asked you about your latest hit.

“I honestly never expected such a song from you.” The host admitted. “Even today, you’re so full of energy and joyful. How is it that you wrote such a heartbreaking song?”

“Ah, well, as you said, I’m usually so cheerful, and I wanted to do something different this time. I wanted to be honest and deep, especially with my fans. There’s more to me than just my smile.”

“Truly. Tell me, was there something, or someone, in mind while you wrote this? It really seems like this song comes from the heart.”

“It does. Honestly this song was written for someone, and I’m sure they know who they are.”

“Oh, are you really just gonna tease us like this?”

“I won’t say anything more about who I wrote this for.”

“Wow, it makes it all the more interesting. Speaking of, Taemin.”

“Hm?”

“The song is a bit similar to yours isn’t it? 2 Kids.”

“Ah, a bit. They’re both songs about heartbreak.” Taemin explained. “Although they’re in different stages. When I Was With You takes place at the end of the heartache, when one has moved on, leaving the other to reminisce about the past. We see our main character let go, expressing their regrets, and wishing their former lover the best. Whereas 2 Kids focuses on the beginning of heartbreak, still feeling the pain and full of regret for their actions, swimming in the what ifs of the relationship.”

“Wow, very insightful. So then how do you feel about y/n’s song? Do you think the intended party would like it?”

“I mean… I can feel the heart in it, the sincerity, so I would hope the recipient understands the other’s feelings, but I’m not so sure if it would end in forgiveness.”

Things shifted gears from there, trying to create a lighter atmosphere before the end of the show. You honestly don’t know how you kept your cool. To be fair there was plenty going on around you to distract yourself. Once done filming you chatted with some of the other stars there, getting many congratulations on your win. Taemin was nowhere to be seen, which you expected. You didn’t think he’d want to see you, especially after being forced to sit next to you, and answering questions about your song. After you spoke with everyone you went back to your dressing room, ready to get your things and get going.

“We were just two kids… too young and dumb…”

You were startled by finding Taemin in your dressing room. As soon as the initial shock passed you got a bit shy, lowering your gaze.

“Hi… how… how you been? Good I suppose, since you got great music and a successful career.”

“Congratulations on your comeback win.”

“Ta… thanks…”

“Hm…”

It was silent for a moment, a long while actually. All you knew was Taemin was sitting on the couch, but you could feel his gaze on you. This was probably your only chance to be honest, so you had to be.

“I’m sorry, Taemin.” You said nervously. “I don’t expect your forgiveness or anything, but I had to say it. I’m really sorry. I hope we’re not awkward in the future, and I’ll do my best not to bother you either.”

“Y/n.” There was a knock at the door. “We need to get going.”

“I’ll be out in a bit.” You bowed to Taemin. “It really was nice seeing you again.”

You went to grab your things when you suddenly heard a lock, looking back to see Taemin locking the door.

“Taemin-”

“What are you sorry for?”

“I…”

“Tell me honestly.”

You took a breath. “I’m sorry for all the miscommunication… for not realizing how much you needed me, and not treating you right. I was dumb, unsure of what we were, and instead of speaking to you about it I kept it a secret. As if I’d get the answer somehow. I was filled with doubts and that ate me up from the inside. You’re such a star, an incredible person on and off the stage, I couldn’t see myself standing by your side. I thought I was more of a burden to you than anything else. I’m so sorry… I shouldn’t have been so scared to be honest with you, but instead I took the easy way out. I regret hurting you, and I’m sorry for everything I did.”

“If you could go back… would you change anything?”

“Yes… I’d do better by you… treat you better and be someone you could be proud of…”

You didn’t know when the tears had started falling. You didn’t want to cry in front of Taemin, not like this. You wanted to leave, but you could feel the pain in your chest, finally able to speak the truth. The tears blurred your vision and you tried to be quiet. You were so focused on yourself you didn’t notice Taemin stepping towards you, not until he reached for your hands, taking them in his and pulling you close. As you dried your tears your eyes met Taemin’s, seeing the bits of tears he was holding back too. Without realizing you two started slow dancing, moving gently, side to side.

“Sing for me.” Taemin requested. “Your song.”

“… too young… too dumb… to realize… that I should’ve bought you flowers…”

“You don’t need to get me flowers.”

“… and held your hand…”

“Hold them tight.” Taemin pressed a kiss against your hand. “Like this.”

“… shoulda gave you all my hours… when I had the chance…”

“We’re both busy with our careers, but we can set time aside for each other. I don’t want you to stress yourself out.”

“… take you to every party… cause I remember how much you love to dance…”

“We don’t need parties, I just want to dance with you like this.”

You wound up resting your head against Taemin’s chest as you both moved together. Hearing his heartbeat, the soothing rhythm, it made a few more silent tears fall.

“I didn’t like your music video.”

“Huh?”

“It hurt to see you so happy and sad back to back. It was wrong.”

“Was it?”

“I never want to see you sad, and I want to be the reason you’re happy.”

‘Taemin…”

“Hm?”

“Can we… can we really try again?”

“What do you think?”

“I know better now, I won’t hide… and I have so many things I never did for you…”

Heartbreak - Lee Taemin

A/N: To the anon that requested this. I am not good with headcanon's, so this has become a fic.

You never thought the day would come when you would run into your ex-boyfriend, Taemin, again, and never in your wildest dreams did you think you would find him on your doorstep with a sheepish smile on his lips and an apologetic look in his eyes.

“Taemin… what are you doing here?” You breathe out in shock. Your hand gripped the wooden door tightly, you could feel your hand starting to cramp up, the last memory of him that you had was of him walking out the door and leaving you behind with a broken heart about five years ago.

You clutch the knife in your hand as you slowly put your fork down on the table, you can feel your heart pinching in pain as you stare at Taemin, on the outside you look emotionless, but on the inside, you are falling apart.

“This, what we have,” He says. “It’s not working, we have been fighting for weeks about literally anything and everything, and we can’t even find a middle ground,” You had been fighting for weeks when you had tried to talk to him, but your conversations would always end in a fight, you weren’t sure what had happened, but you were tired of it as well. However, you still wanted to fight for what you had with him, you still wanted to work things out with him, but it seemed like he had given up.

“I’ve tried talking to you, Taemin,” You say. You watch him stand from his chair but keep your eyes straight ahead. “But you keep blowing up on me, you don’t want to tell me why, don’t you think I’m tired of that also?” You tried to remain calm and keep your voice even as you spoke. “You keep pushing me away when I try to break through to you,” You put the knife down on the table and slowly lift your gaze to look at his face. “What’s going on? Is something bothering you at work?” You watch his jaw clench. “Let me guess, I wouldn’t understand?” You stand from your chair, walk around the table, and approach him. “I’ve heard it over and over the past few weeks.”

“Well, I don’t think I’m wrong,” He says. You stop in front of him and your gaze hardens. “You wouldn’t understand what’s happening, or going on, so why should I bother trying to explain it to you?”

“Because I’m your partner!” You say a bit too loudly. You clear your throat and glance at the plate on the table, that was still untouched by him. “I can try to understand, or make me understand, Taemin,” You lift your gaze to meet his, but he does everything to avoid meeting your eyes. “Even if I don’t understand, it would be better for you to let it out, instead of keeping it all inside.”

“Why should I bother?!” He says loudly, making you flinch and take a step back from him. “I would be wasting my breath, and my time!” You could feel your eyes burning as tears began to form in them, his words were harsh and cutting you like a knife. “You will never understand, so it’s best we end things now before either of us gets hurt even more.”

“Taemin…” You whisper, and reach out for him, only for him to pull his arm away and take a step back. You feel your tears spill down your cheeks at that movement, it felt like a knife had been jabbed into your heart. He turns around and makes his way towards the door, you watch him pull it open and look back at you.

“I’ll come for my things later, or throw them out,” He says before he walks out the door and shuts it. As it shuts, your knees buckle, and you crumble to the floor, Is this really it? Was this really the end between you both?

You hadn’t heard from him for two weeks before you had boxed up his things and sent them to his company before letting the landlord know that you would be moving out by the end of the week. You weren’t ever expecting to see Taemin in front of you again, especially not willingly.

“Can I come in?” He asks, he almost looks uncertain about what he is asking. “Only if it’s just for a minute,” You step aside and he slowly enters your apartment. “Thank you,” You close the door once he is inside and turn towards him.

“Do you want to sit down?” You ask. He shakes his head, and you watch as he begins to fiddle with his fingers. “Okay, then maybe you can explain what you’re doing here and how you found me?”

“Well, I had asked around,” He says. “We have some mutual friends,” You nod your head. He takes in a deep breath. “And for why I’m here… well, I would like to apologise for five years ago,” You feel a pinch in your heart. “I had no right to be like that towards you, treat you like that…”

“Taemin,” You begin, only for him to lift his hand and stop you from saying more.

“I was going through things, and feelings and emotions that I couldn’t explain or even understand, but that’s no excuse for my behaviour,” He says. “And I needed to come and apologise for that, for treating you like that all those years ago,” You nod your head, waiting for him to continue. “I know I’m five years too late, but I’m truly sorry for my words and my behaviour towards you.”

“Well…” You quietly say. “I appreciate you apologising to me for that, I am also sorry for what was said during that time,” He shakes his head and lifts his hands.

“No, no, you don’t need to apologise, you tried your hardest to get me to open up to you, but I was just being foolish,” He says and lowers his hands. “And I hope that we can become friends again, I would completely understand if you wouldn’t want that,” You softly smile at him.

“You do know that it would take a while for both of us to be able to trust one another completely again and that it will be hard work, right?” You ask. He nods his head. “Then we can give it a shot,” You knew that it would take you a while to trust him fully again, but hopefully one day you could have a beautiful friendship with him again. “Would you like to come over for a movie sometime?”

“I would like that, but can we make it at my place?” He asks. “I recently got two cats and I don’t want to leave them alone for too long during the evenings,” You nod your head.

“You should have started with your cats, I would have immediately agreed to be friends with you again,” You jokingly say. He chuckles and gives an apologetic look. “Just let me know the day and the time, and I’ll see if I can be there.”

“I will do that,” He says. “Can you give me your number, so we can arrange this?” You nod your head and walk past him towards the couch where you had your phone on charge, you unplug it and turn towards him, handing your phone to him. “Thank you,” You watch as he enters his number before you hear a buzz coming from his pocket. “I just sent a message to my phone, so I can save your number,” He hands your phone back to you and you lock it. “Thank you for your time, Y/n.”

“Thank you for coming all the way here to apologise,” You say. “It means a lot to me,” He nods his head, giving you a small smile. “Send me a picture of your cats, okay?” He laughs and nods his head as he begins making his way towards the door.

“I will, I’ll take one ASAP when I get home to send to you,” He says. You walk behind him towards the door. “Take care, Y/n,” He opens the door and steps outside.

“You too, Taemin,” You say. He walks down the hallway towards the elevator, and you watch him until he steps into the elevator before giving him a wave, he returns the wave, a bigger smile now on his lips, and it seems like a mountain had been lifted from his shoulders. It felt the same for you, like a mountain that had weighed you down for five years had finally been lifted.

I dont use y/n. unless explicitly asked for in a request, I try not to use pronouns for you, either, so you’ll be commonly referred to as “love, my love, dear,” etc. my smuts are all fem assumed! taking any bg requests :)! If I have no requests I’ll keep posting whatever stories I can come up with for now 😭💗 if you have questions about old requests/pt. 2 fics PLEASE ask! chances are I’ve put them in an indefinite pause or I may need motivation/reminders to finish them for you! this blog is YOURS :)

nsfw/sfw MUST READ!!:

for requests, I will post your anon question with a link to the fic, and the fic will have a link to your request. I would encourage you read the linked requests if you want a summary/idea of what the sfw/nsfw fic will be about! (I only just started doing this so my older stuff doesnt have my usual pattern of linking both requests and fics to each other, so this is more so for the newer ones)

I wanted to ask you something—since Hybe released a statement earlier this year saying that they hope that the decision for the enlistment is done soon, do you think that BTS was waiting until July before they finalized their decision? The government already extended their final decision announcement twice ? I think. And then when it was postponed, maybe BTS said fuck this shit and started prep for it then they dropped the bomb without alerting the government? If so, this is such a power move on their part. A lot of armys are saying that may be this is why NJ changed his Cypher pt3 lyrics to You can’t control my shit. It would make sense bec he’s done it a lot of times before, esp when he feels like his thoughts or circumstances have changed.

Translation of the kr statement also said that Hybe will be withdrawing Jin’s extension request so he can start his preparations asap. It looks like he wants to go in by EOY. Tbh it makes me respect them, especially Jin more because he showed that the antis are wrong and he won’t be turning back on his duty. It’s been the number one thing hes criticised for in the last few years right ? BTS are so freaking classy !!!

It’s been… a day. (Other Anons and KPFT, I see your asks, and believe me I’ll get to them before the end of this week, but right now a lot is happening personally and with Bangtan so please be patient.)

I like how you’re thinking through the events of the last few months Anon, and I largely agree with you.

Something I’ve always said is that I believe BTS go on to do their full service, whether or not they get exemption. In fact I wrote my feeling was that the government would give them some sort of reduced term/alternative service, and BTS would decline it, to do the full service anyway. Because BTS has been the only party that never asked for exemption (Big 3 agencies have been using BTS to lobby for their own artists getting exempted since 2018. HYBE/Big Hit was never even present at the early meetings, while every K-pop agency from SM, JYP, YG, baited the government with BTS to argue that their artists were at a similar level and should be exempted); and the boys know that the only people who benefit from them doing an alternate service, is the military - as all monetary gain made during the enlistment period goes to the military/government.

The issue now though, is that the military and government is now trying to find a way to further exploit the boys by forcing them to do performances while they’re in service, knowing that every Won, Dollar, and Cent will be going into military coffers.

Loool. Like just sit with that for a bit. Think about it. And imagine how tired the boys must feel after seeing the government do this for 4 years. Like there’s so much about BTS that I cannot help but respect and why I can’t take any of their antis (in all their forms) seriously, because if you fully understood the sort of system they operate within, if you fully grasped the levels of ignorance, contempt, greed and hate that surrounds them on a constant basis, and how they maneuver with grace and intelligence in this system... Like, I’ve talked about domestic hate campaigns (partly funded by government relatives) against smaller artists like Tablo simply because he excelled academically at an American university on this blog before… like I’m not sure how else to express what’s been happening on this particular topic y’all. But there’s a lot here that’s fucked up.

Like there’s a reason the government isn’t asking SuperM or Stray Kids or Taemin, or any of the EXO boys to do any of what they’re now contemplating (in broad daylight on the national evening news) for BTS. Certainly not on the same scale. So basically, expect more BS from this administration for the next little while. Koreans have a saying that very much applies here, but I’m holding my tongue until the full details come out on what the military plan to do. I really hope I never have to say it.

Which brings me back to your comment on BTS changing the lyrics in Cypher Pt 3. The boys are already acting on their own terms, as they always said they would, and they seem to have anticipated further shenanigans from the gov, if I’m reading all this correctly.

- Jin was supposed to enlist end of 2020 after a massive world tour, but stuff happened and because BTS met the criteria for postponement after receiving the highest National award (for merit) in 2018, they pushed back that plan and made ad-hoc preparations given the pandemic and Grammy nominations, among other things. Today, BigHit announced Jin has withdrawn that postponement application (the 1st step to begin his full enlistment), and will be going to the military to do his full service.

- They’ll be going likely one after the other or in units to return by 2025 (my guess is H2 2025), meaning it will be staggered such that there won’t ever be a full OT7 serving at the same time, so in the event the government forces them to do performances, they won’t ever be working with a full slate.

And we get back to OT7 BTS in roughly 2.5 years.

I hope the boys are given a choice on this military performance stunt, because I’m nearly certain they’ll reject it (unless maybe it’s for something like the Grammys Idk).

But in any case, they will be fine. Even with all this said, I’m not worried for them, because ultimately, they will always choose to do what they know is best for them. Just look at how they’ve navigated the last few months:

- Announced a hiatus, travelled and had fun at their own pace

- Focused on their solo music projects

- Accepted an ambassador role put upon the guys last minute

- Paid out of their own pockets to put on the OT7 concert of the decade for their fans, for free

- Announced they will begin their full military service regardless of what the government has been doing for the last 4 years.

My guess on how the solo music roll-out will go

Q4 2022 - Jin single/RM release

Q1 2023 - RM release / Suga release

Q2 2023 - JM release

H2 2023 - V release / JK release

Q1 2024 - JK release

*a Release could mean single, EP, full album, etc.

I’m not concerned about the boys, and the fandom seems to be handling the news well enough, but I’m a bit concerned about ARMY ‘overreactions’ to the government’s continued nonsense. By now it should be clear that no matter the facts, no matter how valid it is to be upset about an injustice or wrong action, ARMYs and the boys will likely be vilified by those who have an interest in doing so. So fingers crossed that all 40 million of us don’t go ape shit.

I’ll be IA most of the next few days because it’s getting late and I’ve hardly slept this past weekend, and will have to catch a flight early in the morning to return to a busy week of work, as I’m sure is the same for a lot of you.
