Ahem. Anyway, we got a lovely Eden kids shenanigans.

Aside from the maximum DamiAnya content we have from this chapter ....

(on a side note DamiAnya will be canon even before TwiYor at this rate. Not that I'm complaining, but they are kids!! How can adults be any slower than these kids??? 😭😭😭 yea, I know it's because the kids are more honest with their feelings and all, but still???? Ok, let's get back to the chapter.)

... my most favorite parts of this chapter are this:

Anya has a real fanboys. The boys are here because they see Anya as herself. Not under the shadow of her parents' fame nor they try to gain any advantages.

This is very important to me. Anya gain recognizes that she so much deserves!!! Yes!! Way to go girl!! I am so proud of you 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Je trouve Damian particulièrement irritable pendant le ball, j'imagine qu'il est pas spécialement fan de ce genre de soirées. Vu qu'on s'approche de lui uniquement pour son statut, ce qui non seulement le met mal à l'aise mais l'énerve car les autres enfants viennent le voir juste parce qu'il vient de la famille Desmond et non parce qu'ils sont intéressés par lui pour ce qui est est vraiment. @suunkiised a posté quelque chose d'intéressant au sujet des invitations entre Anya et Damian et il y a, je trouve, un contraste très intéressant entre les deux. Quand Damian est invité par les filles, elles l'invitent sur des critères superficielles et comme je l'ai dit plus haut ne s'intéressent qu'à lui que par son statut ou bien sa famille.

En revanche, lorsqu'Anya est invité par les garçons, ces derniers n'ont aucun intérêt de se lier avec elle car ce n'est pas un contact prestigieux comme les autres gosses de la haute société. Contrairement à Damian, elle n'a aucun statut et n'est même pas riche. Mais suite à ses récents exploits, les garçons s'intéressent à elle pour ce qu'elle est vraiment et souhaitent davantage la connaître. ! Et bien qu'il y a de la jalousie amoureuse quand elle est invité par les garçons. Je pense qu'il éprouve aussi de l'envie mais aussi de la frustration envers Anya. Car au fond il aimerait recevoir des invitations comme celle d'Anya mais malheureusement les autres enfants ne le voient que par son statut

D'ailleurs au début, je comprenais pas pourquoi l'idée de savoir quel objet est plus raffiné que l'autre était nécessaire dans la sphère politique. Mais en parlant avec un ami, il m'a expliqué que pour des gamins de la haute société, avoir l'oeil et les connaissances pour déterminer si une chose a de la valeur c'est une qualité indéniable et faire passer ça sous l'apparence d'un jeu ça permet d'affûter leurs sens. Après tout, plus ils montrent leurs qualités et plus grandes seront tes chances de se constituer un réseau de contacts prestigieux. Et dit comme ça, ça a du sens !

I find Damian particularly angry during the ball, and I imagine he's not a big fan of these kinds of parties. Seeing as he's approached purely for his status, which not only makes him uncomfortable but angers him as the other kids come to see him just because he's from the Desmond family and not because they're interested in him for who he really is. @suunkiised posted something interesting about the invitations between Anya and Damian and there is, I think, a very interesting contrast between the two. When Damian is invited by the girls, they invite him on superficial criteria and as I said above are only interested in him because of his status or his family.

On the other hand, when Anya is invited by the boys, they have no interest in bonding with her because she's not a prestigious contact like the other high society kids. Unlike Damian, she has no status and isn't even rich. But following her recent exploits, the boys are interested in her for who she really is and want to get to know her better. And although there's some loving jealousy when she's invited by the boys. I think he also feels envy and frustration towards Anya. Because deep down he would like to receive such invitations as Anya's, but unfortunately the other children only see him by his status.

By the way, at first I didn't understand why the idea of knowing which object was more refined than the other was necessary in the political sphere. But talking to a friend of mine, he explained that for high society kids, having the eye and the knowledge to determine whether something is valuable is an undeniable quality, and putting it under the guise of a game sharpens their senses. After all, the more they demonstrate their qualities, the greater your chances of building up a network of prestigious contacts. And when you put it like that, it makes sense!

Differences

Chapter 95 is out and oh boy!!! I'm gonna talk about Damian and Anya the most, since they're the focal point of this chapter, and I have some things to say :D

Spoilers under read more

First things first, the fact that this dance is mostly for the kids to try and gain a stronger presence in the political world, we mainly see this from the girls around Damian.

He's one of the Desmonds, so dancing with him means the absolute world in terms of political presence. It means gaining a better chance in the future. Damian seems to be somewhat aware of this, and is probably one of the reasons why he doesn't want to dance. (The second being his big fat crush on Anya)

With Anya it's different. The people asking her are enamoured by her courage after the bus hijacking. She's a commoner, it's stated multiple times in the chapter by the other kids whispering to her. These boys don't gain anything if they were to dance with her.

Anya managed to gain a name for herself in the social hierarchy, by simply being brave and defending the other kids on the bus. No one wants to dance with her because her family has money or a status.

They want to dance with Anya, because she's Anya.

These panel strike me. Sure, the girls are talking, trying to convince Damian to dance with them, but his eyes are on Anya only.

I may be wrong, but in pervious panels with Damian and Anya, it felt more distant, like the two weren't even on the same stage. Damian was standing in the spot light and Anya was in the crowd.

Yet, here, it seems like they're not so far apart any more. Sure there's a gap, but they feel closer than they were in the previous chapters. Like they're finally on the same stage. Anya's still in the shadows, but she's closer to where Damian is.

It's as if Damian is starting to slowly see Anya as an equal rather then a commoner like many other think.

While Anya, is slowly creeping up on her goal to trying to befriend Damian and trying to establish world peace.

I'm probably reading this wrong, but here you go! I had fun reading this chapter and I can't wait for the next one :D

so her first appearance as far as i know is in the concept art shown at the end of volume 2!! here she is

i don't know japanese so i can't read what the text above her head says, but iirc she was supposed to be anya's friend as well! might still happen, i hold out hope, i like her design.

in terms of CANON appearances though, she's a background character! doesn't appear as much as other recurring girls because the ones who have the most appearances thus far are the desmond fangirls, which she's not a part of, but some of her appearances are:

chapter 25 (arts and crafts chapter, she's in damian and anya's group)

and chapter 28 (george chapter, she's part of the dance)
