I’m moving to Boston in a couple of days, is there anything you’d suggest putting on my list to see?

Hi! Sorry it took me so long to answer this, I just moved as well and as you may have experienced already, moving in the Boston area this time of year is hell. But now that I’m (mostly) physically and emotionally recovered from the chaos...

Welcome! There are tons of things to see and do in Boston. Bear in mind that some of these places might be closed or at limited capacity due to Covid, but as of September 2021 the city is mostly open—just don’t forget your mask if you’re going somewhere indoors!

Indoor:

Museum of Fine Arts Boston - My happy place! The MFA is huge and always has something new every time I visit. I recently went to their Monet exhibit and highly recommend it if you have a chance to see it before it ends in October.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum - This is a smaller, more laid back, but just as lovely art museum with a rich and interesting history. There's a gorgeous courtyard in the center of it as well!

Museum of Science - Honestly super enjoyable for all ages! They also have a planetarium.

New England Aquarium - They have penguins. What’s not to love?

Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) - You might be sensing a pattern here. Yet another art museum! If you prefer contemporary art, this is the place to go.

The Mapparium - Located inside the Christian Science Plaza, this is a giant glass globe depicting a map from 1935 that you can go inside.

Trident Booksellers & Cafe - This place is my go-to for books, gifts, and occasionally brunch. They also host tons of fun events, like Skip The Small Talk, Rocky Horror Shadowcast performances, and even Speed Dating! I went to a Queer Lady Board Game Speed Dating/Friending event there and it was suuuuper fun.

Outdoor:

The Freedom Trail - This is a tour of historic landmarks around the city. You can follow the brick path on your own, or catch a tour, guided by a reenactor in historical costume.

Fenway Park - Even if you don't go for a game, you can take a tour of the park. Definitely would recommend if you're a sports fan.

The North End - Beautiful neighborhood for strolling around, lots of Italian restaurants and bakeries. Mike’s Pastry gets a lot of hype, but I prefer Bova’s Bakery. Bricco Panetteria also has fantastic bread if you can find it ;)

Haymarket - Speaking of food, there’s a pretty large open air produce market that happens on weekends. Gotta beat those expensive grocery store produce prices!

Boston Common & Boston Public Garden - The Common is the oldest public park in the United States! My favorite thing to do in this area is bring takeout from restaurants in nearby Chinatown and have a picnic.

Duck Tours - A fun way to get to know the city! They drive you through the streets of Boston and then into the water.

Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall - Pretty touristy, but honestly kind of a rite of passage.

Seaport - Another nice area to walk around, especially if you like the ocean and/or seafood. Also, it’s home to the Boston Tea Party Museum. I’ve never been, but it looks fun—they let you throw tea into the harbor.

Cambridge/Somerville - Please don’t pahk yah cah in Hahvahd Yahd, but feel free to stroll around Harvard Square! Davis Square is nice too

Newbury Street - A classic tbh. This street is where you’ll find the aforementioned Trident, along with the original Newbury Comics and plenty of other stores.

The Esplanade - This path stretches along the Charles River and is great for walking, jogging, and cycling at all times of the year. I once saw a dude on a bicycle take a little detour to ride on the frozen river. Gave me a mini heart attack but boy was it entertaining. There’s also the Hatch Shell, an outdoor concert venue. They’re all the rage these days!

Leaf Peeping - Keep this in mind for a few weeks from now! Within the city, Beacon Hill has some really nice places to walk around and enjoy fall foliage. If you wanna get out of the city for a nature walk, try driving or taking the Orange Line up to Middlesex Fells Reservation.

Well, that’s all I can think of for now! Sorry most of these suggestions were kinda touristy, but the majority of my time living here has been during the pandemic so I haven’t quite had the chance to explore off the beaten path yet. If any other Bostonians have ideas, drop ‘em in the notes!

Oddly specific Solomon headcannons (requested by a friend)

A lot of these will be very self indulgent because I'm literally in love with him.

Everyone talks about Solomon being a cat lover and you're absolutely right, but also consider him being a bird lover. He most definitely loves owls and other birds of prey, but he thinks aviary birds are extremely cute (finches, cockatiels and budgies and so on) and he has most definitely sat on his windowsill imitating owls at early hours in the morning on multiple occasions.

He absolutely loves going to aquariums and that's his ideal date place, he just loves admiring the fish and all their patterns and the way they swim.

Dresses in very monochrome colours, but I feel like to make an impression he would slap a colourful tie on for a date or a patterned one. Can we all see this man in a really nice tailored suit with a galaxy tie????

A relationship with him? Literally amazing, but he believes heavily in the "if you don't bully your partner at least once are you even partners?" But despite having a bit of fun taking the piss out of you he would be so supportive and affectionate and he would feel awful for making you upset.

Solomon with tattoos? Solomon with tattoos. Why else do you wear long sleeves all the time? You're hiding tattoos for sure.

When first becoming acquainted with him he gave very awkward hugs because people don't like taking hugs from him so he barely has the chance to give them out...please someone hug him he deserves all the hugs. In short he's touch starved.

He most definitely likes going for walks in the countryside but wherever he goes he has to take sun cream with him because he burns suuuuper fast (me too honey me too)

If you're in a relationship with him and you have pets be prepared for many texts, be it asking for photos or asking how they are and god forbid he ever came round to your house...he would not stop admiring your pet.

To add onto the statement above he probably dislikes owning pets because to him they have very short life spans and it really upsets him.

Laughs or remains indifferent at sad films/movies and is always the supportive friend/boyfriend who consoles you if you watch them together

Would literally slay Karaoke. Like everyone expects him to be terrible, but he puts everyone to shame.

Always willing to listen to your music taste because he's very open-minded and he likes being included in your interests be it music, art even sports. He just wants to be involved be it to only hype you up and be supportive or to fully include himself.

He forgets to eat a lot of the time so he can never quite pin what he wants to eat at any moment in time...that could also be why he's so bad at cooking he wants everything at once so it all goes in.

He's both chaos and a chaos enabler. He would spam cursed images in the group chat at stupid times because he thinks it's funny.

He has insomnia, but he often uses lavender scented things to try help him sleep (look at him go like a sexy Karen but without harassing hardworking people) and he also likes hugging his covers when he eventually sleeps :))))

He's amazing with Makeup due to Asmos input he helps you shop for it even if he finds it tedious...if it's with you then it's worth it.

He/They Solomon rights guys.

Give this man more love please he deserves it. He deserves all the kisses and cuddles.

Pfft, I am suuuuper late

But my final thoughts!

As you can see from above, I want BB, M, and FP to win. I only realized that I just needed Samatoki in there to be TDD haha Honestly a bit disappointing that I didn’t but lemme explain myself for my reasons.

While I do love the new divisions (I’m a hard DH fan tbh lol), I mostly wanted to focus on how it would affect the story and then the group’s performance. Since the start, before the lives, I wanted to support BB, M, and MTC. As you can see, It’s been changed from MTC to FP X”D

(Black Journey is too powerful imo it has me rolling every time. Though ramuda’s first beginning aprt definitely caught me off guard and that lil intro had me laughing. That chorus??? Freaking <3<3)

Buster Bros, I think I only got around to talk about the first two groups never the next two pfft. As much as I would like to see our favorite comedy duo win, I really want them to beat their father and get a sense of victory as well. I won’t forget the fact that they were the first to go first DRB rip Re:Start is ultimately better than Wara Osaka in my opinion, even if its tacky dance lives rent free in my mind and I think about them often lol. Jiro’s Aniki is going to take some time to get used to, but I think that development (all of them, save Ichiro tbh ??) in the drama track has pulled my heartstrings and they’re adorable.

Hmm, honestly when it does come to M vs BAT, my sibling has had me conflicted many times. (She’s also the one that converted me from MTC to FP blame her lol) It’s true- if BB is going to win, wouldn’t we want a Naughty Busters like reunion? If we aren’t going to get it from DH and MTC that is. Kaigen and RIP are also superb compared to Tomoshibi... (it was a good song I swear- just come on, BAT had more energy this time around XD It fit the hype I was looking for in the 2nd DRB) Rip for Kuko’s scream that isn’t in the actual recording only in the live ashdjkk. If he doesn’t do that future lives still Imma be sad lmao. Anyways I don’t think the “champions” should just go afterwards either. Also les make that inferior complex worse ehhhhh jkjk Also, overall I just feel like M’s popularity and that Drama track might secure them that win. I think the plot might be cleaner then?? Of course, it’s all debatable and Im sure that if either team won, the story could still develop just fine.

Dear goodness, Jyuuto’s part in Hunting Charm actually haunts me. Anyways, Fp doesn’t deserve to lose, what was that one joke floating around about the pink one getting it. Please. Just let them trick or treat form other clones, he doesn’t deserve this ajhsjkkk While as much as I think Samatoki deserves that win and revenge for Nemu (Also potentially meeting her?? But ig he doesn’t have to win to have that opportunity) I feel that FP’s stronger bond and passion to live might push them for that win.

As for the versus songs themselves-

Reason to Fight - Light Shadow - Joy for Struggle

I’ll be honest, for the amount of hype that I had for the 2nd DRB, DhvsBB disappointed me... In the sense of energy of course- I still find it a heckin good bop. But I think what I wanted was just them spitting fire at each other, just fire XDD It was cute- their lil manzai and joking, but I think it would’ve been cooler to throw heat in there. Seemed more to DH’s vibe than a mixed battle vibe.

Now the other two songs, much like the past DRB songs were LIT. I absolutely loved them. That banger part in Reason to Fight that makes me throw my hands in the air to go with the beat (Yall know it lol) is killer. Doppo’s scream -beautiful as always (but also Jyushi’s and kuko’s lol)- including just the raw energy I felt from Light Shadow was absolutely phenomenal.

I honestly wish there was more anger(?) in Dh and Bb But I also get why it didn’t lol Either way, although they're like my top favorite divisions, that’s my reasoning. I’d chat about the Drama tracks too, but tbh I haven’t seen the translations yet so I don’t wanna spread misconceptions lol

This has gone long enough- Imma try and throw up some more art of hypmic though. I had this done a couple days ago but just wanted to post it anyways. You can sort of tell the rush because while I made some of the top transparent I didn’t erase the overlay LOL

Top 5 Games from the PlayStation 5 Event

1. Little Devil Inside

I will admit I never even heard of this game before the Sony event, which is a shame because apparently it’s been on Kickstarter and even had a Steam page for a while. It looks incredible. The art style is incredible. The gameplay looks incredible. And it looks hilarious in a weird sort of way. There’s a lot going on here but I’m here for all of it.

2. Spiderman: Miles Morales

I am so excited that my boy Miles is getting the attention he deserves. He’s been one of my favorite Marvel characters for a while now and it’s so cool that not only did he get a kick ass movie, but now he’s getting his own standalone game. I still haven’t played the first Spiderman game (it’s on my list) but I am HYPED for running around Brooklyn as Miles.

3. Kena: Bridge of Spirits

This game is BEAUTIFUL. Like, it is totally my aesthetic. It is made by a studio that, before getting into games, made animated shorts. Most notably this one. And the gameplay looks VERY Zelda like which I am also 100% here for. I cannot wait to dive into this game!

4. Stray

The apocalyptic, cyberpunk cat simulator I didn’t know I needed. I have absolutely no idea what’s going on but I need to play it. Like, really bad.

5. Horizon: Forbidden West

Other than the reveal of the actual PS5 itself, this is what I wanted the most from the event. And boy did it deliver. Horizon: Zero Dawn is easily one of my favorite games of all time, and the sequel looks to be even bigger and better.

I’m coming for youuuuu Sylens!

Bonus: Project Athia

This game looks cool. The main character looks like a total badass, the powers look sweet and the monsters look suuuuper awesome. As long as it’s not too Souls like, I'm down to give this a go.

Spyro: Reignited review 2.5

The Dragons of Artisans World! Let's have some words on all of the dragons while I'm at it~ Why not :2 Nestor - God I love his design. It's so good. It really does fit him and the idea of him that I had as a kid. Truly the image of 'he leads these dragons' with the very first glance. And I love the voice too, is the good stuff~ Kind and very welcoming sound coming from this dude. His colors are great too. Is it biased or boring to just, like the first fella you see a lot? Because I do like him a lot. I imagine many people like Nestor though. Shoot, I like his name too. This dude, perfect. Super good. Great job everyone Delbin - Artist boi~ As a kid I saw him as an angry aggressive kind of dude. Somehow he just, came off as being very angry when I was a kid. Maybe his voice actor had that kind of vocals or something? Anyway, he seems like a kind fella to me now. Yes he might have a deeper raspier voice, but those thick eyebrows and the effect they have, making him look like he's going ÓuÒ I kinda like him a lot more now. He's great, I'd love to just sit down and paint with this dude. I dunno what if anything we'd talk about, but just doing some painting with a chill buddy would be nice Tomas - I've shared my thoughts on him already earlier like a year or 2 ago. He was my fave as a kid, but now he's not at the top anymore. I still loooove his energy and attitude, the jokester feel I get from him & the emoting he does with his hands and body. Tomas is still great, don't get me wrong! My expectations were just suuuuper high and I didn't expect the beard etc. Nothing bad with beards, sometimes they're really cool and nice~ It just wasn't part of my own vision and nostalgia, so that's why it takes points away from my own personal ranking. He's still great with his smile and grin! But ye, I like the little musical note sound as he jumps up Argus - I love his watermelon. I love he. Also the first moment where I immediately went 'oh god he sounds so nice, I could listen to him speak for hoooours' the voice is that good. Soothing and soft, tell me a story I'll listen. Also he just looks really friendly with his glasses and all. Not to say that glasses make you automatically friendly or anything, but just, story teller, let me grab a pillow and a snack and let's craft up some silly stories

Lindar - A favourite design boi here we go~ Not my absolute fave, but certainly up there~ I feel like many people like him, and for a reason xD I love his colors, the blue and yellow here are really great~ And clocks are cool, lots of work goes into them. Also love his goggles and goggle horns. That stuff is cool and nice and yeeees. "Not that you ever run into trouble, Spyro" yeah maybe not Spyro, but yes, yes I do, me, the fella who died in Artisans homeworld. Me. Lindar, I am baby, I fail, a lot. Don't have high expectations on me Astor - Magical portal fancy vortex thingamajiggyr, love the enthusiasm in his voice. He's pretty great too overall, a nice fella. I do like him Gavin - This boi got tattoooooooos and he a barista, he's Really cool~ Also I think he had all those elements from one of the artists who worked on the designs, yes? I also love the work of said artist, I'm bad with names, I feel the name started with Co- or Col- but it's not quite at my grasp. Either way, we love Gavin in this household, he's great and his design is great and now I want hot chocolate but it's 3am and others are sleeping so I can't (QuQ) Gildas - Gildas my man! Honestly at this point, if it weren't for him I'd not have gotten all that far at all in the game. That hint on gliding, as simple and small as it might be, has saved lives - or at least attempted to. I'm as enthusiastic as Spyro when listening to this fella. He certainly sounds and seems like the kind of fun art teacher who is super kind and understanding and just great to be around. Such supportive energy from this man. And I love his design too~ Paint splatters everywhere, he's definitely an artist because we messy. The big paintbrush is also very great~ And the little pose and smile at the end of his speech, also great~ Alban - I forget if I wrote about him before, I think I did (I think I wrote about a bunch of dragons years ago, but I'm not going back to that post until I'm done with the game just to see if I feel differently now). There was that whole 'this is Spyro's dad' thing when I was a kid, with him being purple and all that jazz (and the whole 'oh it's you'). But that aside, I like this dude~ Can't imagine how strong that tail of his has to be to support him and his whole weight, but that does make him kinda unique when compared to most other dragons~ Is a cool pose :2 And I like the blue... Frills or scales he has, gives off some slightly aquatic feel in a way Oswin - My first feeling on him is some sort of memory about a recolor or model. Like there's a green Oswin or such somewhere. Anyway though, I think I liked him as a kid too, just something about telling secrets and getting to feel special or something. He aight, I do like secrets, and the room he's in is cool Darius - Many comments made on some Shakespeare references I bet. I'm not one of those kids who were forced to read those books as a kid. Not English native, no such experiences. The skull and reference is cool though, even if mostly lost on me. Also the note on the big Gnork using 'Her' pronouns, big ladies, that's cool honestly and refreshing Nils - Nils Nils Nils Nils, snakey long boi, he gets me hyped. that one camera angle of him as he's bowing, polite tall man, it's kinda hilarious in a way but I love it so much! The way he poses after stepping away to look at the statue he's working on. His long thin moustache. The green and cream colors. The red scarf. God I love everything about him, voice and all. Even the fact he knocks over his sculpture at the end. Oh no baby oh nooooo it makes me laugh a little on the inside I can't help it xD It's tragic and sad, but it just adds so much personality and life to the character Devlin - Same hint as Gildas, so it doesn't hit quite as hard here and my brain didn't really grasp it, but honestly, good on them for doing it twice, it's what my brain needs because understanding that gliding thing took me a moment. But ay, that aside, he sounds so friendlyyyyyy I love that~ The Rs in his words~ Also cake, yes, I want to bake, let's bake something sweet,

like cake or pancakes. I've never actually baked a cake on my own, maybe one day. Alvar - Ok I like

him a surprising amount. The food stuck on his tail, the way in which he just throw-jabs stuff on the ground all angrily, yeet the scewer, yeet the knife, the way he runs out of breath when rambling. This dude's got an attitude and I respect him for it. The drama, the energy. Also I. I want barbecue, I want grilled food. It makes me hungry. I could say he's one of my favourites too, very memorable for sure! Thor - Older sorta fella, the name always makes me think of the God of Thunder, so it's quite the different feeling when seeing this dude. He does have some braids which does give off a small bit of Norse energy. And right, the words, on the guidebook. I've not yet mentioned it in these reviews but I'll certainly get to it. I had figured it out before talking to Thor, but it's a fine addition. I don't have a lot to say on him, but as many others, he looks friendly too Nevin - I like his voice~ Another painter fella. Smug expressions. And I'm now noticing that he has some big wings, there's size to those, like daym, I almost got used to the smaller sized wings but when he jumps and flaps his to be off, kinda nice and impressive. Spyro kinda steals the show here though, him saying 'barbecue' is just, niiiice

how would roxas/sora/riku/ventus/vanitas react to finding a page of sketches of himself in his s/o's sketchbook? And getting a painting of him & his s/o from the s/o for christmas?

WE STAN A GOOD WHOLESOME ARTIST S/OSora :

Sora’s first reaction is to just go “wOAAAAH H H H - Wait. Is that me ?”. Like he knows you draw but he’s always impressed whenever he sees your art. And it’ll take him a hot second to realize that, it is in fact, h i s face plastered all across the page. He’d rush to find you and ask you about all these drawings !

Is he fun to draw ? Oh, could you draw him like a superhero ? ?Wait ! Can you teach him how to draw so he can also draw you ? ? ? He’s so happy and excited he just can’t stop rambling and spitting out ideas. Once he notices he’s being a bit overwhelming, he’ll slow down and apologize with a sheepish smile, asking if he can keep the page !

When you give him the painting, he’d have to put it down for a second just to pick you up and excitedly, smothering your face and shoulders with kisses while thanking you. Sora would hang it on his bedroom so he can look at it every day - but first, he has to show e v e r y one..

Riku :

He’d be hesitant to look through your sketchbook - but as soon as his eyes land on those sketches, he’d go extremely fucking r e d. Have you been sketching him without him knowing ? That is both ADORABLE and so eMBARRASSING for this boy. Oh look at that, you drew him with so many different hairstyles - Maybe he s h o u l d let his hair grow again.

Riku would take a s n e a k y picture of the sketches and return the sketchbook. He doesn’t want you to know he’s been snooping buuuuut he also wants to keep this. Of course, he’d smoothly ask you if you want him to model for you someday. If you joke or tell him that y e a h, maybe you need to work on some nude portraits, he’d regret his words and wish for the ground to s w a l l o w him.

When you give him the painting, Riku would try to play off his nervousness and bashfulment by critizicing your technique (despite not knowing much about p a i n t i ng) “Y e a h the lines are very u h h h h, solid and stable.” Unlike Sora, he wouldn’t want to hang this up for everyone’s view - but if you insist theeeen suuure, he m i i i g h t put it on the living room for a few weeks.

Roxas :

Roxas’ curiosity would take the best of him, so he’d peek through your sketchbook without any problem. He had his suspicions of you sketching him from time to time but w o a h, he never actually expected to see an entire page with doodles of himself ! Needless to say, he loves them - buuut he wishes you would just make him a liiiiittle bit taller.

Like Sora, he’d also confront you about the drawings. Roxas would jokingly ask if you’re planning on painting something b i g about him, but it’s fine if he doesn’t catch on the obvious way you s w a l l o w and c o u g h, thinking he’s figured out his Christmas present. He’s too enamoured with the page to notice.

When you give him the painting, he’d be happy and flustered ! Not full on HYPED like Sora or suuuuper embarrassed like Ventus - more of a healthy in between. He’d admit that he just cant see himself hanging this in his room, but that he still appreciates and loves the painting ! Roxas would ask you to teach him how to paint, just so he can make a little something for you in return.

Ventus :

Ventus would most likely end up seeing that page by accident, since he’s against looking through your stuff without your actual permission and presence. He doesn’t like to invade people’s privacy or have his invaded - but yeah, somehow he manages to catch an eyeful of those sketches. And o h b o y he’s SHOOK. He knew you were a good artist but WOW you made him look s o much more handsome !

Ventus would just stare at those sketches, lovestruck, until he remembers that he’s not supposed to look through your sketchbook. He’d put it back where he found it, but in the next days he might subtly try to bring this up. “Sooo uhh, you’re an artist right ? Wouldn’t it be fun if you d r e w m e ,, ,, HA H”

Once you give him the painting he’d just stare at it, completely speechless. He WANTS to hang it somewhere out of support for you and because let’s face it, it’s such a pretty and well drawn painting - bUT HE’S ALSO TOO EMBARRASSED ? Thats his fACE right thERE - In the end he’d simply store it somewhere safe, somewhere only he can see. But he WILL show it off to Aqua and Terra.

Vanitas :

Vanitas is that one type of person who, as soon as discovers that you’re an artist, won’t stop pestering you with “cAN YOU DRAW ME?” “HEY, WHERE’S THE OTHER EYE” “IS THAT ANIME” “CAN YOU DRAW ME??” - because he KNOWS how annoying those comments are. So if he found out you ACTUALLY filled an entire page with sketches of him, he’d be speechless.

He’s torn between letting you know that he went through your sketchbook and tease you till the end of time OR just saying absolutely nothing and keeping this page for himself. In the end he’d do the latter and play dumb if you ever find out that there’s an entire page g o n e. Like Vanitas is so good at pretending and faking you won’t know he’s the culprit.

When you give him the painting during Christmas, Vanitas will try to be smooth and cocky as usual - only to fail miserably. His face is red, his hands are shaky and c l a m m y, his voice breaks a bit - THE WHOLE PACKAGE. It’s obvious that he’s both embarrassed and flattered. He’d be against hanging the painting - if anyone saw that, Vanitas would probably P E R I S H. He’d insist that YOU keep it, saying mean stuff like “it just doesn’t fit my room aesthetics” - but he just doesn’t want to risk the painting getting dirty or broken.

Scarfed down an egg, cheese, and spinach cake-looking omlette before running upstairs for German. Katharina printed out little character cards and we had to translate them out loud to each other.

Hallo, mein name ist Brigitte (also had to spell my name out in German). Ich bin dreiundsiebzig Jahre alt. Ich komme aus Klagenfurt, Kärnten.

Oof why are numbers so difficult? Hopefully I’ll get the hang of it. It’s pretty easy if you know 1-10 but you have to know 1-10 and I don’t yet.

I like our Austria in Europe class. Normally, I think history is boring and it’s hard for me to stay engaged, but I thought it was really interesting how we opened the class. Wolfgang asked us, “What does history mean to you?” For me it’s a recollection of individual stories and how they play into the greater picture/shape society, as well as how society shapes individual’s stories. We also had a debate and discussion on how is identity formed. I’m glad we’re in a small lecture class. I almost never speak aloud in discussions/class, but I feel pretty comfortable speaking up in our group.

Remind me not to drink 2+ cups of black tea in one sitting. I was wayyyy to hyped on caffeine. Kinda felt like I shaking like that squirrel from Over the Hedge.

Oh my, our Sights and Sounds of Salzburg class was a looooooong one. Our professor has a thick accent so it’s hard to keep up and understand what she’s talking about. Sometimes she would ask a question and we wouldn’t know that she did until she just kept staring at us. We flipped through a thousand slides of historical art pieces.

Since we ended class at 15:30, there wasn’t much time to go out into the city before dinner. We ended up hanging out in the house to do homework or take a break before going out to Paul Stub’n. I had chicken, a baked potato, and a light salad.

Let me start by saying I have never seen any full length mirrors since we arrived here. So in the bathroom, you can understand that I was confused by the mirror and thought it was a weird hallway to another part of the bathroom. Only till I actually walked up to it and TOUCHED IT did I see my reflection and realized OH it’s a mirror and I’m dumb. Glad Aubree was there to witness it. We were dyiiing.

After dinner, we navigated through the city and found the lift on the other side of the mountain. We rode the elevator up since Aubree’s knee hasn’t been the happiest lately. Up on the Mönchsberg, we walked the scenic backway and found a museum as well as a stunning view of the city at night (photos will never do this place justice).

Jan 16

Had another egg, cheese, potato cake-looking omelette for breakfast and hiked up the stairs to German. For our Austria in Europe class this morning, we took a walk on the Mönchsberg and stopped at sites that had historical backgrounds and were essential to Austria/Salzburg’s development. He also pointed out the Eagle’s Nest and the church that was used in the Sound of Music (but the inside of a different church was used for interior scenes).

We trekked back to our building and had a potatoey crispy mac and cheese-esque dumpling casserole thing for lunch. I wished I knew the names of the foods Marcus cooked for us.

After this lunch break, we continued our Austria in Europe class and had a history lesson on the Habsburg family. My background on European history is rough/ basically non-existent since the last time I studied it was early-on in high school and I never retained any information because it was a butt-load of history to remember. So I’m happy to be getting another crash course. Turns out the Hapsburgs were a family who happened to be at the right place at the right time They managed to come into power and dominate the Holy Roman Empire for 600 years.

Nadia, Raine, Aubree, Patrick, and I went out to hang and do homework at a coffee house but ended up walking around town and stopping at Spar to buy chips and snacks. I need to learn how to ask, “Can I pet your dog?” in German. I keep seeing too many good bois, big woofers, and smol puppers that are all SO well trained and absolutely adorable. When we walked out of the grocery store, we found a little long-haired dog tied to a bench. Patrick went up to pet it while the rest of us stared and admired from a distance. We walked through the Hospital parking lot (and realized just how small this town is and how all these separate pieces of the city are finally connecting to a solid map) and then hung out at a little pastry shop before crossing the street to meet the rest of the group at the Aug (Augustiner braü).

Inside, there was a whole wall lined with small and large ceramic beer mugs (Steins?). You picked up a mug, washed it out in this grand sink station, paid 3-5 euros at the stand, and then walked over to the bar where the guy would fill your glass up from the tap. Honestly it was pretty good. 10/10 recommend and would come back- and the food wasn’t too bad either. I got a Riesen Käsekrainer mit senf (basically a giant sausage with cheese and mustard). Patrick and I also went to a stand to get some fries. I was confident in my German and ready to order and then I panicked mid-sentence but the lady still understood what I meant.

Jan 17

COME TO SALZBURG THEY SAID. IT WILL BE EASY THEY SAID. Our sounds of Austria professor just dropped a homework bomb on us. And the binders she passed out for our class are so unorganized (my OCD is killing meeeee). Why am I already overwhelmed with classes? I’m hoping this week is just chaotic from trying to adjust and process everything as well as from trying to establish somewhat of a routine. On the bright side, we had more comfort carbs for lunch (pasta with red sauce, bacon bits, and broccoli).

We ~finally~ ventured out to get our sim cards. Managed to buy a ticket and hop onto the bus (but am I supposed to scan my ticket or something?). Wasn’t sure what our stop was for the train station, but I was happily along for the ride (no need to stress yet folks). Salzburg is an interesting city. It’s always suuuuper quiet. People walking around town are silent. Individuals and families sitting on busses don’t talk. In restaurants, volume is kept to a minimum. I’m sure we all look crazy just existing out in the streets as Americans especially since we like to talk and travel in groups. It was quiet on the bus, but the ride was calming and it was nice to see parts of the city that we hadn’t seen before. Also, we saw some cute babies all bundled up and smiley. They look like miniature Michelin Tyre men.

We missed our stop for the train station?? So we just got off at the last stop which was the Europark (the large indoor mall). We stopped at the A1 store to get sim cards, but it was a hassle with such a large group and so many of us not really knowing what we need or what we’re getting. It sounds like we were trying to get one plan but ended up with a different one since the guy misinterpreted us? I’m still confused, and I feel like I spent a lot of Euros, but my phone works abroad now and it’s only a month plan so if it doesn’t work out or I don’t use/need all it’s perks I can just change it when the plan is up.

The mood drastically changed from when we went in, to when we came out. A lot of stress for both us, and the poor two workers who were trying their best to help us out. We hopped on a bus to head back to Old Town. Got off and scrambled to find a quick restaurant to eat at before attending a concert. Some split off to McDonalds, and some of us went to a fish food store. I ended up getting a fried fish sandwich thing, but it was either served cold, or cold from sitting too long. It was aight and definitely cheap. I’ve been missing fruit and veggies in my diet. I think Marcus does his best to include them in our meals, but I could really go for a smoothie.

We met up with the rest of the group in front of Haus für Mozart (Kleines Festspielhaus) for the concert: Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. It’s quite an experience sitting at a concert. I think so many of us are used to having a lot of visual stimulation, but this was mainly a listening experience. Of course, you can watch the musicians playing their instruments or the conductor throwing his body into the music, but it’s a different kind of visual that we are not used to. The music was lovely, but it was also long. We were supposed to take notes throughout the concert, but I kept getting lost in thought or lost in the story of the music. Or maybe just lost. At some points it really was just music and I didn’t really know how it made me feel or think.

Special Part 1 und 2

Jep, konnte nicht warten nachdem ich sah, dass es online war :D Ich höre jetzt auch DP Songs, weil es einfach perfekte Vibes hat und die beiden Folgen waren soooo gut.

Kur zgefasst: Richtig nostalgisch. Hab mich teils gefühlt als wenn ich DP schaue mit dem ganzen Content und Charakteren - Sie benutzen Sinnoh OSTs und das ist einfach sooo schön, weil es die perfekte Atmosphäre gibt und ich NULL damit gerechnet habe. Lucias Theme, einige der Routen und so und die, die wir seit DP nicht mehr gehört haben. Super passend und geil - Cynthia ist suuuuper niedlich in Folge ein und ohne Witz ihre nieldichsten Szenen hat sie da alleine. Sieht gut in dem Outfit aus, super süß einfach und echt lebhaft. Gott, dafür lohnte es sich schon sie wiederzuholen. - MARS. Ja, ich mag Mars mehr. Galaktik cool zu sehen, weil halt auch pefekt für die Sinnoh Promotion, und paar gute Shots von Mars :P

ROCKO BACK AGAIN! Sehr cool die DP Gruppe wiederzusehen. Rocko immer cool, Mensch, wie schön das einfach ist und in neuem Outfit als Doktor anscheinend :D

Und dann coole Action mit Heatran und Galaktik. Wir sahen Hisui Sachen am Anfang, weil da so eine Art Festival war und mehr noch nicht, bin also seeeehr gespannt was sie in Folge 3 und 4 vorhaben, aber enttäuscht bin ich nicht. Ist sehr cool gewesen und ich war so hyped, dass ich auch n Video machte, weil ich den Hype in die Welt sprechen musste

Lucia natürlich auch süß. Sahen alle cool in den Outfit aus. Ich fand btw den Anfang des Special so anders. So typische vibes, weil man weiß, dass es ein Special ist und so habe ich das auch wahrgenommen. Auch direkt mit Lucias OST am Start :0

Cynthia ist soooooo sß in dem Special. Mehr lebhaft als sonst, ohne Witz ey. Ihre süßesten Szenen in Folge 1

Ich bin mal echt gespannt, ob es DAS schon war. Wenn ja, ich hatte dann doch eher andere Vorstellungen und dachte das wäre ne Zeitreise oder so xD Wäre jetzt nicht schlimm, hab nur was anderes erwartet. Aber hey, extra Content der gut ist. Nehm ich

ROCKO ALTER WAS GEHT! So gut ihn zu sehen, Chaneira hat sich entwickelt, wie cool er hier wirkt und später dieses eine Flugzeug steuert

Gou war auch froh ihn zu sehen, weil er schon einiges gehört hat und somit wäre die Sinnoh Gruppe wieder vereint

Wirkt ein bisschen surreal wie die sowas haben und Rocko steuert xD Aber irgendwie müssen sie das Reisen ja einbauen, zu Fuß wäre zu lange

Es gibt wohl mehr, was man sagen könnte, aber die Action war cool. Die wollen ein Portal öffnen, um Cyrus zu holen, was ich recht nett finde, dass die auch eingebaut werden und auch ein Grund existiert. An sich war noch kein Kampf da, aber ich fand die Szenen wo Heatran diese Platte anpowered schon cool und wie es dann selbst getroffen wird und verrückt spielt. Also wirklich Max Lvl mit dem feuer erst und dann als Lava gestalt. Das war so die Dramatik in der Folge, fand ich auch cool.

Ich bin jetzt echt gespannt was sie vorhaben. Anschenend hat Heatran eine Acreusplatte und wir sehen Arceus auch einige Male. Ich hab ja gedacht, dass sie n die Zeit reisen, um die Katastrophe ungeschehen zu machen, aber nee, das wirkt ehe rnicht so :D Kommt Arceus einfach oder wie? Naja, Hype fürs nächste Mal

VIXX 101: A Crash Course

N/Cha Hakyeon

also known as Leader N! (and sometimes mother cha) he’s the main dancer, and a proud parent. has the voice of a goddamn angel, and when he dances? let’s just say eros would be proud. he’s just so goddamn elegant and graceful I really don’t understand it? basically he’s protective and loving but also somehow seductive with his voice and body and everything? came up with stage name N! Inspired by ‘fate’ [in-yeon] in Korean, so the ‘yeon’ in ‘Hakyeon’ also took that form.

he’s very hardworking and eloquent in speaking for the group, and really he deserves all the love and recognition! he has darker skin than most of the members which sometimes he gets picked on about but he’s more confident about it (which is good because his skin is gorgeous) he also kept a diary when he was a trainee of his hopes and dreams and achievements and apparently it’s one of his most prized possessions! how fucking precious is that im gonna die

Leo/Jung Taekwoon

the lead singer (my soul soars and my skin clears with each and every high note) and precious shy kitten. he may seem aloof sometimes because he doesn’t know how to react or is overwhelmed, but flowers actually bloom when this boy smiles (proof). he used to be really camera shy, but being in musicals (Monte Christo and Mata Hari) helped with that! and also helped in killing me because GODDAMN gorgeous does he look good in period clothing?

this boy loves his lattes (hence his nickname latte-fairy)! he’s the oldest member after N and they sometimes act like the parents of the group. knows taekwondo and won championships swimming and boxing?? loves children!! see his video with his nephew (melt my heart) and is easily embarrassed, which is when you are likely to see the top of his head. also a drama queen and is usually the target of Hyuk’s shenanigans (not that he doesn’t deserve it sometimes)

okay ill move on now or ill never stop. he’s my bias and he’s too precious and attractive and can move his body like nobody’s business (see chained up) kill me

Ken/ Lee Jaehwan

main vocalist and king of aegyo! also called ken-jumma because he acts like an old woman sometimes. (but he also is called Power soul vocalist, Kenchopper, 4D Ken, Kenneth, and Kenyonce). he is incredibly extra and a goddamn sweetheart but then also turns around to stop starlights’ hearts? like for example being in the Boys over Flowers musical and apparently the Prince in Cinderella?? and recently Hamlet! he’s just really the most cheerful precious dorky flower ever ok and could probably make a rock laugh/blush

Ken is super suuuuper good at acting and I recommend checking out the musicals and dramas he’s been in! (that includes Boarding House #24 for a drama suggestion!)

Ken has two older brothers as well! His favorite foods include: instant foods and chocolate~ He’s also really great at drawing (he draws the little heads in the beginning of VIXXTV). Kenneth has also won multiple awards for song-writing. He wanted to become a voice actor if being an idol didn’t work out~

Ravi/ Kim Wonshik

im gonna turn it over to my bestie @poorunfortunateseouls who is Ravi-biased and loves this goddamn dork:

alright, let the Ravi bias take over, *cracks knuckles*

vixx’s main rapper. Is well versed in the art of body rolling and spitting mad rhymes. Loves his cool, collected, and manly persona but will not kill any bug, they are his kryptonite. Protect this baby. Doesn’t know what shirts are. Is an avid shorts enthusiast. Tends to be put in stupid hats. Vixx song hype man. Adores saying his name before he raps, literally cannot resist saying his own name. Desperately wants love from all things, especially dogs, please love him, he can’t handle not being an animal’s favorite. Enjoys tattoos (YOLO. on his chest.) and having a flaming question mark on his face because he is secretly the riddler.

Abs. Just abs. Acts embarrassed but wants you to see them because damn they were hard to get and yes, you like them. Talents and works under-appreciated. Is incredibly dedicated to both his solo music and vixx’s tracks. Very thoughtful about the music he produces, hard worker. Has a great back and a killer face, watch out, he’ll snatch you with those raps of his and you will thank him because he is lovely. (also he’s in love with Ken. but can you really blame him?)

Bean/ Lee Hongbin

precious cinnamon roll, literal human sunshine! the visual of the group, has a range so low it shakes me to the bone, and in general ruins my life with his goddamn dimples and that time he had pink hair?? he also took a photography class? looks absolutely drop dead gorgeous as a girl. is a giant dork and once said he was wearing green because he was a bean

is literally the sweetest? Leo fell during a race and bean ran over and cheered him to the finish line! giant Park Hyo Shin fanboy, which is precious, and knows a lot of girl group songs that he likes to sing along to. wanted to be a veterinarian if he hadn’t been a singer? how fucking precious is that? basically he’s a puppy in human form, but can be very savage, which is incredibly confusing

Hongbin also really hates couples but has had past relationships before debuting! HONGBIN IS ALSO A GREAT ACTOR??? LIKE ALL THE DRAMA’S HE’S BEEN IN I’VE NEVER SEEN HIM STRUGGLE???? (drama’s he’s been in are: Glorious Day, Moorim School, What’s Up With These Kids?, and soon to be in the newest drama called ‘Wednesday 3:30pm’) He used to be an MC for SBS mTV’s ‘The Show’ from March 3rd, 2015 - October 13th, 2015 with T-ara’s Jiyeon and Super Junior’s Zhou Mi.

Hyuk/ Han Sanghyuk

the maknae!! precious, dancer and also has a gorgeous voice. mesmerizes with his dance moves. sexy out of nowhere after him being so cute? also shot up and is one of the tallest members and constantly picks people up (especially Leo) because suddenly now he has muscles? likes to tease his hyungs and think he’s a grown man, which amuses everyone (especially Ken). he apparently once danced to Super Hero while he was sleeping and cosplayed as Sasuke from Naruto with his cousin!!

A problem. Seems like a small, innocent, silly baby but it’s part of his mischievous maknae game. Don’t fall for it. Stacked. That’s just science talking. A dork, wants to make people laugh and isn’t afraid to be silly. Great voice. Don’t sleep on his sexy vocals, boys got pipes. Impulsive but sweet. Is a ray of sunshine but will burn you as he flips from giggly boy next door mode to mr. steal yo girl in 3 seconds flat. Hard to pin down, needs to pick a lane because you will get whiplash staning this bulky man-child. Cute to dreamboat at the drop of a hat. And that hat is probably Ravi’s. (any hat)
