hey could like talk about the super bowl commercials this year cause....what the fuck.
First of all and most importantly the pro-isreal commercial that aired while Isreal BOMBED Rafah. I'm gonna say this again real clearly ISREAL. BOMBED. RAFAH. The one place that Palestinians were promised safety but then were told to evacuate even though it was virtually impossible to do so. Don't stay silent about that when complaining about the game this year. I don't care who won, innocent people, families, CHILDREN are being murdered. Stay aware, the only reason we don't know what's happening is because they are murdering the journalists. Learn their names, stay informed.
Now on a lighter (still annoying) note. Why did temu have the money to air their commercial like 7 times. Like no normal dropship company should have those funds. Also disney making a commercial purely off of quotes after the writers strike is frickin laughable. As well as the commercials didn't feel like superbowl commercials. They kinda lacked the fun whimsy and felt so stiff. There wasn't really many that were notable/earwormy and funny. (puppy monkey baby, that tiny doctor pepper guy, etc) I'd say with the exception of "Michael CeraVe". That one is more subjective though. Everything about the advertising this game just felt so...incorrect. I always watched the commercials when I was younger cause they were funny and I love following how things are publicized so I was disappointed on many ends this year.
I'm not much for soda but I've been drinking 7UP lately. I prefer lemonade like Minute Maid or Simply Brand but lemony flavor is good sometimes. I like non-popular brands like Fanta as well. Then, I saw this Superbowl commercial..
Will I try Starry? Sure. Should I try Starry is the real question ⁉️
I don’t get why people care so much about the super bowl commercials like they’re just ads💀 ads are supposed to be annoying and an inconvenience, not entertaining tf???
The He Gets Us campaign is attempting to use big media to change perceptions of Christianity. I am sympathetic to the desire to "spread the word", so to speak, sadly, I'm one foot in the doomer camp that I think its not going to bear much fruit. Here is the reasons why.
youtube
Looking at this response video, we get: 1) the people behind He Gets Us are actually right wing/conservative politics, 2) right wing politics is hateful, and 3) its very expensive, implying that big money = political = corrupt? But no actual critique of the message itself.
I'm actually slightly sympathetic to the critique as well. Jesus was decidedly non political. He never criticized a secular politician or ruler, and implicitly supported the paying of taxes and did not even defend against or oppose his unjust trial and execution. But that said, even if the video was just 30 seconds of the word "Jesus", or 30 seconds of John 3:16, I believe it would still be smeared in the exact same way. Because they don't criticize the message (because it wasn't that political). They ignore it, and criticize Christianity.
The uncomfortable truth is that when Jesus said "pick up your cross and follow me", a nearly literal translation would mean to have us meekly comply to our own persecution. And the more Christians fight back, even with just an ad campaign, the more the opposition will escalate.
My own critique would be that: 1) You shouldn't use a hostile platform and give them huge sums of money, 2) Jesus did it grassroots, used minimal resources and was under the radar of any large scale organization or entity.
I cannot believe they fucking brought the gang back together for that one PopCorners commercial for the Superbowl. Do you know what Tumblr is going to do with this information
