Prompt: Day 3 - Arguing
He and Clark have their fair share of arguments. They probably argue more than they should in a relationship but somehow they always manage to make it work. Bruce knows Clark loves him and he hopes Clark knows that he loves him back. However, sometimes there are arguments that even Bruce wonders if they’ll come back stronger from it. If they’ll recover enough to go back to the way things were.
“No, because you’re just being your usual arrogant self!” Clark yells, starting to walk away.
Bruce follows, his anger rising. “Me? What about you, Mister I can do it all?”
Clark scoffs, reaching the top of the stairs that will lead him from the cave to the main building. “No! You’re the one who jumped in front of that blast!”
“It was Kryptonite, Clark, what did you expect me to do?” he shoots back, still following.
Clark exits the cave. “I could have handled it.”
“Bullshit!” Bruce yells, pointing an accusatory finger at Clark. “How in the hell would you have done that, huh? It was kryptonite, for God’s sake!”
“I don’t know, I just would have.” Clark turns to him abruptly. “And then you wouldn’t have gotten hurt.”
“Is this what this is about? Me getting hurt?”
“It’s about you getting hurt in my defense!” Suddenly, all the fight seems to evaporate from Clark’s body. His shoulders slump and his face becomes crestfallen, frown setting in place. “Because of me.”
Bruce feels all the anger leave him, instead replaced with sympathy and love. “It was my choice to jump in front of that blast, Clark.”
“Yeah, but look at you.” Clark vaguely gestures towards him. Bruce knows Clark is referencing his broken ribs and concussion. “You got hurt pretty badly.”
Bruce sighs and walks up to Clark, grabbing ahold of his hands and squeezing them. “It’s all part of the job, you know this.”
Clark nods. “Yeah, I know but that doesn’t mean I don’t hate it.”
Bruce smiles at him reassuringly. “I know.” He shrugs. “And you know, if it had been you who got hit by that beam,” he places a hand on Clark’s chest. “I would be feeling the same way you are right now.”
A small smile graces Clark’s face, making Bruce feel a little better. He nods. “I know you would be.” He pulls Bruce closer and wraps his arms around him, squeezing firmly but carefully. “I love you.”
Bruce buries his face into Clark’s shoulder, breathing him in deep. “I love you too.”

Superbat Week 2020
Day 1 (Jul 26) - Working Together
(Fluff & Fun)
The tension in the air was heavy and strained.
Bruce carefully examined the patient before barking out in a terse voice.
“Scalpel.”
And a gleaming blade was handed to him.
Teeth biting bottom lip, Bruce made several cuts while Clark watched on with bated breath.
“Needle.”
Bruce demanded and Clark jumped to obey his order. One was placed in his palm, already threaded with a length of string.
Holding it between his thumb and forefinger, Bruce began to sew, keeping the stitches neat and even as he closed the wound. With a final knot, he held the string taut while Clark snipped off the excess.
“Do you think it’s okay?” Bruce queried, needing some affirmation despite knowing that his surgery was spot-on.
Lips pursed, Clark scrutinzed the patient before clapping Bruce’s shoulder.
“Looks pretty neat to me so I’m sure he’ll be ok with it.”
Feeling much relieved, Bruce grasped Clark’s hand and gave it a squeeze.
“Wouldn’t have made it without you.”
And Clark smiled, his expression saying it all – that’s what he would do for Bruce.
Together, they hurried out of the Batcave and into the manor, Bruce carrying the patient in his arms.
Sneaking into Dick’s bedroom, they found the six-year-old fast asleep, worn out by a long bout of crying.
Heart aching at the sight of his son’s puffed eyes and tearful streaks, Bruce kissed his forehead gently. He then tucked the just mended teddy bear under Dick’s arm. The boy stirred, hugging the bear tighter but did not wake.
“Told you I’ll find Roosevelt” Bruce whispered as he pulled the blanket up.
“And your dad always keep his promises,” Clark murmured, smoothing out Dick’s hair before fixing his gaze on Bruce.
In the quiet dimness lit only by a night light, they stared at each other, eyes awash in emotions.
Bruce moved first, leaning in to kiss his dearest friend. And Clark returned the favour – warm and full of love.
“One more month...”
Clark sighed, breath ghosting over Bruce’s lips when they parted.
“Yes, one month more,” Bruce smiled, fingers caressing Clark’s cheek.
One month to go and then the divorce would be done. Dick would finally be in his custody and Clark – always there, always waiting – they could finally be together, open and free.
(A case of Dick losing his security blanket – teddy bear Roosevelt – during their move back to Wayne Manor. And Bruce, together with Clark, managed to find it back. Unfortunately, the right limb was torn and Bruce tried his best to fix it up.)
(My 2nd year participating in Superbat Week. Last year, only did one day and this year hoping to do more.)

Prompt: Day 7 - First Kiss
A date. Clark asked Bruce out on a date and for some reason, Bruce is nervous about it. He doesn't know why he's so anxious about it. He and Clark have been friends for many years. There's nothing to be nervous about.
Except the fact that this, though not changing everything, is going to change some things. They'll be able to do more things with each other now. Like hold hands and hug each other. They'll kiss each other now, something Bruce has wanted to do for a long time.
Sex.
They'll have sex with one another.
The thought alone makes Bruce, even more, anxiety-ridden. He's wanted to do all of this with the Kryptonian for so long that now it seems almost surreal that it is finally happening now.
Alfred enters his bedroom just ask Bruce is fixing his tie nervously. "Master Bruce, Mr. Kent has arrived."
Bruce nods, turning to the older man. "Thank you, Alfred." He holds his arms out, letting Alfred take his outfit in. "How do I look?"
Alfred walks up to him with a small smile. He swipes at Bruce's shoulders, wiping off any dirt or fuzz that might be there. "You look very handsome, Master Bruce."
Bruce smiles and Pat's the front of the suit. "Hopefully Clark doesn't mind going somewhere fancy and expensive."
"Luckily, Sir, those place don't usually put the prices on the menus," Alfred says with a little chuckle. Bruce laughs, too, and pushes past Alfred, giving the butler a pat on his shoulder on his way by.
Clark is in the foyer of the main entrance, dressed to the nines. As Bruce approaches, he makes sure to get his fill of how Clark looks. He’s in a fitted black suit (something Bruce insisted he pay for) with a blue tie that brings out Clark’s eyes. The cufflinks are a gift that Bruce gave to Clark years ago. He can still recall the protests that Clark went through when Bruce had given him something so expensive and the awe that he wore on his face when he finally acquiesced to Bruce’s refusal to take them back. He knows Clark has kept them in a very safe place in the Fortress of Solitude. At least, until now.
“Good evening,” Bruce greets as he nears Clark.
Clark gives him a shy smile, one that Bruce knows well. “Hi Bruce.” His eyes travel the length of Bruce’s body and Bruce is suddenly well aware that he looks no different than he usually does as Bruce Wayne. “You look really good.”
Bruce awkwardly gestures towards Clark, clearing his throat. “So do you.” He smiles. “You clean up well, Kent.”
Clark huffs a laugh and they both stand there, feeling nervous and awkward. Clark is the first to break it with a laugh. “This is so stupid that I’m so nervous.”
“Honestly, I am too.” They stare at each other more before Bruce gestures towards the door. “Shall we go?”
“Actually,” Clark takes a step towards him. “I was wondering if maybe I could… kiss you before we went?” He shifts on his feet, rubbing his hands against his thighs. “Sorry I just… I just don’t think I can wait until after.”
Bruce shrugs. “I wouldn’t mind. Besides, might break the ice.” Clark doesn’t say anything to that and instead smiles wide at him, leaning inwards and pressing his lips against Bruce’s.
It’s everything and nothing like how Bruce had imagined their first kiss to be like. He always thought it would be heated, something to happen in the middle of a fight, desperate and yearning. This is soft and slow, a gentle press of their lips. It’s… sweet.
They pull away and they both are smiling at each other. Clark chuckles again, holds his hand out for Bruce to take. “Now we can go, if you want.”
Bruce bites his bottom lip. “Actually, I think we need to practice our kissing a little bit more.” He smiles, mischievous. “You know, just be sure.”
Clark doesn’t even hesitate to kiss him again.
