I'm rewatching SU rn with my boyfriend and watching Stets alongside, and we die every time. stets uninu did not get consistently more off model the characters just got too conventionally cute. all smooth clean shapes and big eyes . i mean it looks Alright when they have the time to draw them properly but the thing is they didnt always

#initial art style was more charming and it wasnt as obvious when they rushed out a drawing #avtually off model cartoons are cool and awesome. never forget this #i know people say it matches the show ‘maturing’ as it goes on but i cant really agree #like we learn the characters imperfections as the show goes on and we accept those flaws #but then they get. cutesified in the process? if that was intentional itd be ass backwards #this is a weird complaint but i think the boarders just. liked the characters too much #got used to drawing them a certain way. makes me sad #i think a similar thing happened with the writing too if im honest #dottxt #*adendum i do think they started putting a little less effort into the art as time went on #but something tells me thats less to do with the actual boarders and more outside factors #and also someone pointed this out a long time ago but the line weight got super weird and was just not used well
