Just want to put a clarification.

The black phone is NOT a slasher movie. The grabber is NOT a slasher. I am just getting super technical with terminology, you don’t have to listen but hear me out.

Slasher movies are the movies like Halloween, nightmare on elm street , Friday the 13th etc. Where a big bad hacks and SLASHES through a main cast of teens etc etc. Not much plot besides a good ol chase and kill. Sometimes there’s motivation, sometimes they’re just evil etc .The black phone, despite being around abduction, murder etc. We only - to my memory- get two on screen deaths.

The Grabber is a Spree killer.

Quite literally by definition. He’s much more like real life killers than slasher villains, which is one of the reasons I love this movie so much? The degree of realness/rooting with true crime etc. It’s fresh compared to how horror now likes to overuse the slasher genre(which I’m still a fan of btw).

He’s a crime of passion type killer. Also staying to the particular suburb(where as depending on the kind, slashers will follow and go anywhere. Usually without limitation or worry)

This is just me mumbling about semantics. I’m not saying you can’t compare or put him in with other fictional killers just that he’s not a Slasher like most.

True crime people- just gonna put it out there that I have no experience in the mental health field but after hearing the story of Jean- Claude Romand I don’t feel like, from what I know about narcissistic personality disorder, that that was all that was going on there?

Like he said something through his life about how he didn’t ‘feel real’. He repeatedly alluded to not remembering doing things but knowing he must have done them. I just feel like that’s not a simple case of narcissism? I don’t know just something I was thinking about, would love to know what other people think.

28-year-old Ramon Salcido worked at Grand Cru Winery in Sonoma County, California. His wife, Angela, worked as a seamstress and the couple had three daughters: 4-year-old Sofia, 3-year-old Carmina, and 22-month-old Teresa.

In April of 1989, things for Ramon started to deteriorate. He was close to being fired as he was deemed unreliable and life at home wasn’t much better. Ramon bullied and controlled Angela and she was just about gaining the strength and independence to leave him.

Moreover, Angela had just recently found out that Ramon had a second wife with whom he had a baby with. While Ramon and his first wife had separated, they never actually got a divorce and now, she had tracked him down and obtained a court order forcing him to pay her $511 a month in addition to $5,807 to the Social Service Department of Fresno County to repay sums turned over by that agency to her.

Ramon was also angry by the fact that Angela had recently been approached by two modelling agencies who felt as though she could have a lucrative career in television commercials. Ramon was furious of the thought of his wife straying from home and having her own successful career. He became so jealous that Angela was forbidden from even going grocery shopping alone and he came home from work several times throughout the day to check on her.

Unable to come to terms with the seeds that he’d sown, Ramon did the unthinkable.

On the 14th of April, 1989, after spending the night snorting cocaine and drinking, Ramon drove his three daughters to a dump on Stage Gulch Road. Once here, he placed his daughters over his knee and slit their throats one by one. He then tossed them into the brush.

Miraculously, one of the girls survived, but Ramon wasn't done yet...

Guys it’s quite literally the opposite of a slasher and never intended to be a hack and slash teenage gore fest I don’t know where this expectation came from but I’m losing it.

I feel like now days in the dull of horror people started using “slasher” to mean killer when it’s a very specific term?? Like the grabber is a spree killer (crime of passion killer. Little breaks. Constant) and the movie is more of a supernatural true crime drama so I’m genuinely at a loss here

In me heart, Killer Frequency has like, 8 movies, 2 failed reboots, and a tv miniseries.

#the second movie sees henry tryign to somewhat adjust af6er marie stepped off whistling point. #He pulls an axel and ends up killing a buncha cops and shit to avenge marie #movie 3 sees marie return a la ft13 part 6. its very sexy. they go on a murder spree again and marie walks off into the mosty woods #while henry ia shot and left for dead. #movie 4 is full of red herrings and a mysterious figure turns out to be henry after he survived the shot. the duo reunite #movie 5 is the copycat killer thay is ultimately offed by marie and henry. henry is killed for real. undead marie is distraught #she goes on a rampage and gets exploded. the town thinks its all finally over #but henrys hand rises from a shallow grave in a post credits scene #movie 6 henry rolls up to exact revenge for his mom AGAIN this is probably where some of the kills have a sense of humour to them #movie 7 is the obligatory Whistling Man In Space movie. henry has been played by a wwe wrestler since movie 6 #he shows.significant decay but turns out the alien nonsense suddenly made him powerful and idk brings back marie Again probably. #movie 8 was the crossover event slasher royale movie. marie and henry have an upper hand and emerge victorious. #the first reboot attempted to be super gritty and replaces forrest and peggy with college students with a campus radio program. #it was terribly received. #the second reboot attempted to place the focus on henry and made him the main murderer while saying he was possessed by a demon #this was one is widely considered to be the worst in the franchise. #the miniseries is a retelling of the original and is faithful to the source #its well appreciated for it even if critics said it was unimaginitive. the fans liked it bc it was clearly made for the fans. #why the FUCK have I put all these in the notes. #killer frequency #send help im so brain dill about this

Dulce Vetro! Conficcare and Rametto's older half sister, as well as something of a glimpse at an alternate path that Celia's story could have taken. [tiny text is in plain text under the cut]

Name taken from the poem & latin phrase "Dulce et Decorum est Pro patria mori"- although in her case she is told that it is sweet and honorable/fitting to 'die' for her family. this death is metaphorical, a death of self as her duty of care to her siblings consumes her identity and life. Vetro- 'Glass' is her mothers name, and thus the family name, however Conficcare & Rametto both reject this and use Conficcare as a last name.

Her stand, Blank Expression, furthers this 'death', as its power is draining emotions, leaving the person its used on apathetic and numb, although its offensive capabilities are mostly unknown as it is almost exclusively used on Dulce herself. It leaves pale blue markings behind after use, reminiscent of an eight petaled oxeye daisy, each petal symbolizing a member of her family.

Dulce Vetro is Conficcare & Ramettos older sister, left behind to raise their younger siblings while the two became breadwinners. She was the first daughter and was named in accordance with what was expected of her, Vetro being their mothers name that her brothers abandoned.

Each petal stands for one of her family members: their mother; her two older brothers; her; Conficcare and then Rametto; and the two youngest. of this family, only her and the two youngest could truly be considered family, as their mother is neglectful, the two older brothers ran off to a better life, Conficcare distanced himself due to their mothers homophobia, and then to earn the family money, and eventually he took Rametto with him. only the two youngest stayed, and they are Dulces to raise and care for.
