Based off White Zangetsu's BLEACH BRAVE SOULS Spirit Society Demon Form. And the initial rough concept of BLEACH's HELLverse. (I don't support the resurrect any important character nonsense) 

But anyhow, Zangetsu marched into Hell and declared himself Overlord. If there was a previous ruler, they are no more. If Hell's guards attacked him before, then they now serve him. It is said his spiritual power burns as hot as the sun.

He grew more horns that twisted in different ways. The chains on his arms aren't a declaration that he's a prisoner. He willingly wrapped them around his garbs. The gold-encrusted bones and skulls help identify him as ruler, and the chains, apart from those that are HIGHLY powerful, can act as unbreakable whips and shields. He loves to swing them around like weapons. They are also a security feature. They tie him to Hell's heart, and thus, if his body ever perishes, he is auto-rebirthed into the lava pools to take revenge. 

Perhaps he will use this newfound power to tip the scales of the realms. To declare war on Squad Zero in return for Ichigo's freedom. Or perhaps, Ichigo's well-being is of no consequence. Perhaps Zangetsu is just pleased to be wild and free.

Guess who started a last minute drawing and improvised some random gradient with Copic. Quite glad I finally got to use my BG49 though, it is a nice color but I hardly have some use for it, since I feel like I usually use mostly red, blue, and purple tones, and not often greenish ones. Also, I'll never remember that wings and feathers are a pain to draw. Which is a big problem since my top three characters ever have bird thematics.

Anyway, for once I am on time for Byakuya's birthday ! :D (Last year, I was already late, I was lacking inspiration, I tried something, then my V000 (which is for me the best color for cherry blossoms) died while I was drawing, and since I wasn't very satisfied with my drawing, I didn't finish nor posted it in the end... Maybe I'll finish it one day though.) But I realise I really should draw more and post more often, because, though it is great that it ensures I at least post once a year, my yearly drawings of Byakuya are getting closer and closer on my page each year :')

I'm still at a loss for how to adapt Orihime for this Spirit Society au that I'm writing on ao3...but it doesn't feel write cutting her if I include the ones who already exist in BBS (Ichigo, Chad, Rukia) and have finalized versions of Renji and Uryu

It's just that I'm not sure how to fit her into the changed dynamics and keep her true to her character. Bc my current ideas have her being depressed, untrusting and cynical (but putting up a brave/cheery face) which feels like a completely alien version of her. But if Ichigo and Chad (and Uryu) are running around killing demons (and Ichigo is eating demons) before Ichigo gets sealed, I can't figure out how Orihime (who in current drafts is also a demon) would go along with that if she was in character? (or how she would trust Ichigo with anything in the first place if he's like that)

the other option is that, like Rukia, she'd only meet the group after he's unsealed, but then again, why trust him? (and what would she even be doing?)

And even if I make her not a demon (well, technically Oni given how Spirit Society works but I feel weird going against the translated terms still), I'd still need to make her something. And the problem of why she would be with the group still remains.

I'll be posting another chapter soon-ish, but I also plan to have Ichigo and Chad meet up with Orihime and Uryu in like two chapters, which was why I was getting frustrated with this bc it is fairly soon and I still don't have anything that feels consistent with her)

With Spirit Society Ichigo and Shirosaki/White Ichigo, do you think they can speak their own language and bicker (or flirt) at each other without any other of the spirits/yokai understanding them? Because in some depictions of japanese folklore every tribe of yokai had their own language, and since Ichigo and Shirosaki are their own entity alone, it's an interesting take, thoughts?

I'll be honest, I don't know much about traditional Yokai, but that sounds very plausible and like a super neat idea!

I could see them bickering in their own language, or... because they've been sealed away for a long time, right? They could even speak a language that's gone extinct or has changed drastically since they were sealed away! Maybe they're the last Yokai who can speak it?

I'm also super into the idea of same-soul, can-speak-via-their-thoughts "trope". (Is it a trope? I guess so lol). Mental connections are my favourite to play around with! The two of them bickering and gesturing wildly at each other while everyone else is just looking onwards and not hearing the intense argument going on, just seeing Shiro waving his hands and Ichigo rolling his eyes.
