omg. that post about dreams about college is too relatable. i’ve been out of college for almost two years now and i swear i still have those panic induced dreams about classes and exams QUARTERLY. in fact just LAST NIGHT i had a dream that i had exams for two classes the next day that i completely didn’t study for bc i messed up the exam schedule (one of them being a class i don’t remember signing up for) in addition on that same day i had to give a professional talk on national tv in KOREAN as part of my korean class when i was literally enrolled in only intermediate korean 🥲🥲🥲 i literally woke up so panicked and had to tell myself i’m not a college student anymore 😩 i guess college be causing trauma for all of us

LOL! i don’t even think it’s trauma. i think it’s just an easy outlet for our subconscious to spit out our feelings. i always find dreams so interesting, because sometimes i have a weird dream and i’m like YUP. this happened because i was thinking of this, i was listening to this, i’m stressed about this. others, you can write it off to eating something weird. and then there are the times where my middle school crush (who i haven’t seen or spoken to in over 10 years) is just inexplicably present and i wake up like ????

to you and that anon who was worried about career path.. pls don’t think you’re gonna make a mistake!!!! if you’ve chosen something right now that means you’re certain about it to some extent. as a (not so new) grad who’s been working for over a year i wanna say you have SO many years to work and find yourself along the way even after u graduate. also life is not all about career so u don’t always have to find happiness in your jobs... as sad as that sounds (unless you’ve chosen med or law school.... i guess your job IS your life)

thank you for this!💛 it’s comforting to hear that we’re not alone in this, and the older I get the more I start to realize that. lately I’ve been telling myself that life is so long, why would anyone want to spend the entirety of it at a job they hate? I guess in some circumstances it’s easier said than done but there’s always an option to leave and start new. I’ve changed my major once and I’ve changed my career path three times since I’ve started my studying and I’m still not happy with where I am (but I like to think I’m getting closer to it but that’s after years of trials and tribulations and there’s still plenty of years to go) and I’ve seen countless people who are well in their middle ages who have changed their job to something else. we’re forced to put ourselves in these tiny boxes from the minute we graduate high school and tell ourselves that’s the path we need to stay on, but how is anyone supposed to know what they want to do for the rest of their life at 17/18? it’s ok to change your mind and change it again and again until you find your niche where you’re comfortable. you’re so right too, I think we rely on the fact that a successful job will mean happiness but that’s not always the case clearly and idk when I think about my future, it’s not always centered around what I’m going to be doing for work, but all the things I want to do and all the places I want to go before it’s too late and not achieving all that makes me most anxious.
