Also random tangent I feel like his first impression of true love was an ancient version of high school musical on a shitty VCR tape Troy bolten and Gabriella Montez were what true love was to him because he knew what his parents had at young age wasn’t healthy because he’s seen other peoples happy family’s on television and at school so he would have that movie on repeat (it was the only VCR tape he had)

So uh, first things first - there's your explanation for where TDTMD Act 2 Chapter 3 is. It'll come out some time in January unless some big autism moment like this happens again, sorry for the wait y'all!

Honestly, like I said in the video's description, I didn't plan for this to take all month - it was originally meant to be for Eclipse's birthday but. Delays happened.

But enough about the month gone past - or even the year gone past! I just KNOW you all wanna know what we have in store for 2024!

Firstly - TDTMD Act 2 Case 01 will still be coming out as it has been! Right now I have 5 planned chapters for Case 01 - and we're like, halfway there! Crazy, huh? But... What do I mean by "Case 01" anyway? Well, you see, TDTMD Act 2 is actually an anthology of sorts! A collection of stories that are all connected by the theme of the Black Arms' effect on PetalBloom - three stories to be exact! Each case is to have 5 chapters each, resulting in Act 2 as a whole having 15 chapters! Quite a lot! But worry not, those who are looking forward to things other than TDTMD, for I am not going to be writing all three cases back to back, no no!

After Case 01 is finished - I've scheduled myself to write a new side story - the FINAL side story for Arc 1! "But Ash, you finished Arc 1 like 2 years ago! Why are you still writing side stories attached to it?", well, mainly because my brain gets on my case about how the writing isn't as good as my newer stuff and how "unbalanced" Arc 1 and Arc 2 are in terms of content - so I'm doing this to make it shush. But also I saw potential still to be found within Arc 1's events, so, yeah! After this post goes up I'm gonna add the name of that side story to the pinned post for hype and all that :]

After THAT - I'm finally gonna go a bit into the catalogue of documented but not written Origins stories listed on the pinned post with The Englishman With The Devil's Eyes. I've been wanting to get to this one for a while now but stuff kept getting in between me and it. But no longer! For after the last Arc 1 side story, Devil's Eyes will finally have it's moment - no matter what! But... I know what you wanna hear...

New Main Stories?? - Yes yes, I hear you. Enough with the Origins and the side stories - when are we getting back to Arc 2 proper? Well aren't you in luck! Being preceded by a short side story oneshot, Mission: FOX FRENZY - the third main installment of Arc 2, will indeed be the next in line after Devil's Eyes! Not to spoil too much, but this one goes out to all you Garrick fans~! 🤭

Beyond That - I have a whole schedule planned that carries to the end of Arc 2 - both officially with the LONG awaited rewrite of Something to Bond Over, and spiritually with TDTMD Act 3 and more importantly, it's corresponding Moonlight Interlude. (what do I mean by that? You'll see~), but if I were to explain the whole of it now, why, this post would be like the new color of the sky! So I'll do it in increments~ All you need to know rn is that I plan to finish Arc 2 this year.

Lastly - The non fic stuff! The most important, I think, is the whole deal with CoC and it's cancellation. I won't go into the why of CoC being cancelled here - but rather, how it effects TEoS going forward. If you were unfamiliar, CoC was to be a webcomic that was a spinoff/crossover with TEoS. It was vaguely referenced in Innate Affiliation - meaning that it needs a replacement. That replacement is... kind of in the works as we speak - I plan to truly start remaking it into the role in February. All I'll say for now is that it's going to be another Sonic AU this time rather than an AU from another franchise. Other than that - I have a special YT video in mind to come out after the Arc 1 side story, won't say what it is yet but, I really hope you'll enjoy it - it's... gonna cost me a pretty penny. Also, this animatic (you forgot that this was the original point of the post, didn't you?) was made completely in Ibis - but after this I'm completely switching over to Clip Studio Paint! I've already been messing around with it since Xmas though - I'm very much willing to show what I've made with it so far! In fact, I think I'll do that on the main art blog later tonight!

D&D Saltmarsh Campaign Part One

I thought it might be fun to write a series of posts detailing my party’s adventures through the adventure Ghosts of Saltmarsh so, this is the first part of a series.  I’m the DM.  Here’s a list of the characters:

Cora Legallow (Will be called Cora) - Halfling Rogue 

Burgell Warryn Garrick Stumbleduck (Will be called Burgell) - Gnome Druid

Healius - Dwarf Life Domain Cleric

Lyle Hilltopple (Will be called Lyle) - Halfling Wizard 

Quarion - Elf Fighter

So, it starts out with Lyle in a library, and a note falls out of a book telling him there’s nice information in this haunted house near him.  He yells something, I forgot what, and runs out of the library, immediately running into Healius.  He says, “Hey, wanna go to this super dangerous haunted house with me?” and his player rolls high enough that Healius is just like, “Sure,” so the two are walking.  Now, at this point I realized I should’ve started with all of them already together, so the two of them run into Burgell and Quarion, who are coexisting together while Cora is eyeing their gold.  Lyle convinces the rest of them to go with him to the haunted house, so they all walk along the road.  Well, first they jumped into the water hoping they’d be magically transported, but nothing happens so they went along the road, and came across a bald stranger.  Lyle uses Mage Hand to try and get money from the stranger, but the stranger thinks it’s lame and spits in the stranger’s face.  So, they’re finally at this house.  

Cora goes to investigate the well, and she sees glints of silver inside of it.  She begins climbing in, and then I casually said, “Roll for initiative.”

I’m going to take a short break from this because I just want to say, saying that out of the blue felt awesome.  Like, I caught all of them off-guard and they ended up in combat, and... it just felt awesome to say that.

Anyway, she gets attacked by 2 giant poisonous snakes.  So, the five of them manage to fight off these snakes, and Cora is reduced to one hit point, so Quarion has to heal her, and by now she’s given up on staying stealthy.  So, now at 5 hit points, she jumps back in the well and pockets the 14 sp.  Then, Quarion actually jumps in and takes a point of fall damage, but finds nothing, and Cora goes back out.  And then they finally go into the actual house.  

So, they go in, and Quarion notices some dusty footprints.  They follow these footprints.

By the way, this house is, like, a complete dungeon, basically, with 3 floors.  They just skip all of this and follow the path into the basement.  First, however, they trigger a magical spell that screams some evil stuff.  And Lyle is now frightened.

I realized, at this point, that I had messed up.  They were supposed to think this house was actually haunted and filled with ghosts and otherworldly terrors, but they thought this thing was a tourist attraction.  However, I didn’t have much choice other then to roll with it.

So anyway, they all go down, and see a guy running to alert the others.  Quarion literally jumps onto the guy, grappling him, and grills the guy for info.  At first, all the info is mundane, but then he reveals some secrets, and then he starts begging for his life, and they let him go, and he runs out of the house.  Cora picked the locks on 8 of the chests, and Quarion broke the other two, and they looted those.  And, because I used an online chart thing, I accidentally gave them 4 healing potions, a map, some alcohol, and a block of cheese.  

Then, they go past this door that says “DO NOT ENTER” on it, and Lyle casts Light.  One of them (I think Quarion) rolls perception and notices some bones trying to reanimate in a corner, and YEETS Cora into the bones, where they all break.  Well, Cora doesn’t break, the dusty bones do.

And that was where I had to end the session.  

Anyway, that’s session one, I’ll probably post the rest of the sessions as we go, so... be on the lookout for that, I guess.
