vault god facts for the new vault hunters watcher

(IE: hey hermitcraft fans HERE ARE YOUR GUYS TO DO LORE WITH)

so, there are four in-game vault gods. however, you'll sometimes hear people like hbomb refer to the "vault gods" when talking about the vault hunters devs. that, or blaming the name of douwsky, the janitor. those are not the gods i'm referring to here but ask me about my iskall headcanons as a result of this sometime.

each god has altars in the vault, which will ask for a specific sacrifice in order to give you favor with that god. they also have idols, which raise your favor and have bonuses depending on which god the idol belongs to (as well as bonuses to things like amount of mana and how fast you recover from status effects).

having favor with a god can confer upon you bonuses within the vault, and has a compounding effect the more favor you have.

raising favor with one god will eventually lower favor with another (assuming update 12 keeps that mechanic), so the hermits will eventually develop certain gods they each individually have more of an affinity towards, depending on their play style. this can be seen in the vault hunters stat screen, so keep an eye out!

you used to be able to get negative favor with the vault gods, and they'd hurt you in the vault. this has largely been removed in this version of vault hunters (unless they put it back in update 12, i haven't quite caught up with the mechanical rework from this update). pete had a whole arc about this in season 2 of vh smp.

when vault god favor activates at the start of a vault, the gods have quotes they state in the chat. from these, you can pick up a bit of their personalities.

they have official art! that being said, even with this official art, people like to interpret them a lot of ways, so go crazy go nuts!

it seems the final boss may have something to do with these figures...

the four gods are as follows:

idona, the malevolent is the red vault god. their altar asks you to kill mobs as sacrifice. when you have favor with idona, you earn more soul shards while killing, have higher strength, and are more effective at killing mobs.

tenos, the omniscient is the blue vault god. their altar asks you to give up levels as a sacrifice. when you have favor with tenos, you find more items while looting, those items are rarer, and generally you'll get more out of the vault.

wendarr, the timekeeper is the yellow vault god. their altar asks you to give up mana as sacrifice. when you have favor with wendarr, mana regenerates faster, you can have more time in the vault, and generally things that take time will move more in your favor.

velara, the benevolent is the green vault god. their altar asks you to give up health as sacrifice. when you have favor with velara, you can get regeneration, have more hearts, and generally you'll be healthier and heal faster. additionally, velara is the god that punishes you for using healing potions in the vault by cutting your healing efficiency by a large amount. only use vault potions if you don't want to anger them.

VTuber Martyn and Life series Martyn Connection? (WORKING THEORY)

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS THEORY, I NEED TO WATCH BACK LORE VODS AT SOME POINT AND FIGURE THIS MESS OUT LOL, SO SOME STUFF MAY CHANGE!

But anyway, please enjoy my bullet points in a possible theory!

Life Series Martyn - Fragmented Soul - Each loss is another piece gone, each win is a “Fragment Protected”

VTuber Martyn - C.H.E.S.T. may have found Doc and thus Martyn. Somehow separated soul from Data Stream Martyn/Biometric scan erased, fragmented soul (no soul, no way out of Data Stream).

Soul can’t be destroyed, so put into Death Games game world by C.H.E.S.T. , inserted into alternative EVO timeline lore (as if they re written the whole game to include Martyn) = Creation of Life Series Martyn

Put into Death Games game world because that CAN destroy the soul, little by little thanks to the Watchers

Soul and Body (now code, maybe due to Biometric scan?) still respond/connect with eachother, thus why Datastream Martyn has scars in the same places as Fragments lost by Life Series Martyn.

Ch3 and chapter 4 (named Fragment Wars) go hand in hand. Martyn designed the lore to work in any SMP and universe.

With that in mind, is a possibility that when VTuber Martyn figures this out, maybe, somehow, his “lost” fragments are scattered around the Data Stream entirely. This means he’d no longer be looking for L.O.O.T. Shards, but HIS soul fragments?

AGAIN, THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS THEORY.

Will need to review LORE VODS and info from the creator himself to see if his hints have added up or if I’ve done the math wrong lol!

Fable smp theories bc I'm totally and completely normal about it-

Spoiler warning for anything that happened in lore before/during the company outing streams! That's the point I'm caught up to lol

Let's talk about Wolfs mask first. I am almost certain that fixing the mask would make him human again. I assume that it wasn't originally supposed to be a curse, i could imagine that it was a gift either from Delta to Wolf or a gift from Vikesh to Wolf (but made by Delta at Vikeshs request). It might have been a thing that was supposed to help Wolf meet up with Vikesh by letting Wolf transform into a literal wolf to help him sneak away from the people around him unnoticed. I'm confused as to how the mask got into his and Centross bedroom considering the fact that he transformed down in the cave, but perhaps Centross brought it up after the fact in the hopes of somebody finding it? It was placed where the compass called "home" was placed originally. Anyway, the fact that the mask is now in Fables hands is terrifying and I'm scared of what he'll do with it.

Also, regarding Centross, of course we don't know what he's the God of yet. I assume he's on the end court (would it still be called that if the court technically doesn't exist anymore?) because of the fact that Eperos was the one that helped him to ascent. He is almost certainly still able to manipulate objects in the overworld bc he was able to replace the book that was meant for Wolf with one that was meant for Icarus. That's why I assume that he also moved the mask (aka replaced the compass). I wonder to what extent he can manipulate things in the overworld.

Now, let's talk about Rae. Poor, poor Rae. He was so close to getting his hands on the broken mask but he couldn't bring himself to enter Wolfs and Centross room, not even to feed Hope. I'm sure he would've put two and two together pretty quickly. Now here's how I think the mask thing is gonna go. I think Fable and his squad will roll up to Raes house to demand that he willingly give up the soul shards. Ofc he's not gonna want to do that, which might result in a bit of fighting. And then Fable is gonna propose a trade. "If you cooperate and let me take the shards, I'll give you what you need to turn Wolf back to his human form." And I feel like Rae will be tempted at the very least. We've seen how desperate he is to get Wolf back. I'm not sure if he'd go through with it, but he'd definitely be very tempted. I'm also wondering how the shards being gone would affect his mind reading abilities? Bc I'm not sure if those are there bc he's Enderians child or bc he's her vessel or if its bc of the shard. Ig we shall see.

Now, the one and only Fable. I don't trust that guy. I never have and I never will. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt back when hed just gottten out of purgatory, but he proved to be just as bad as we thought it'd be. Although his intentions might be... I don't wanna say good but ig reasonable? I feel like he can't really be redeemed, not after everything he's done. Like he didn't even explain to Aurelius what his plans are or anything, he literally just killed her for no reason. Well technically there's probably a reason, I'm getting to that lol. I think Fable will kill every single god after he takes their immortality. After all, they might try to stop him from completing his plans. They are a threat to said plans. I believe that Aurelius will not be the only God that Fable kills through the remainder of the season. He might spare Rae, but only if he doesn't see him as a threat when he comes to take his shards. Same goes for Jamie and anyone else who has some sort of shard/godly power, so maybe also Easton, Momboo and Ocie? Which is quite concerning.

Also, Len. Ven doesn't see him as a threat but if he learns about what Fable is doing I'm pretty certain that he's gonna side with Athena. That's a pretty significant threat in my opinion.

Finally, Arissanna. I feel like she's a wild card in all of this. If Rae and his group can figure out a way to reverse the vexing problem I feel like she'd absolutely side with them. If that doesn't happen I don't think she's gonna be loyal to anyone but herself. She might side with whichever side she thinks is stronger and change her alliance on a whim depending on what the others offer her. We shall see how her arc develops.

Gem's kingdom is really cute. Just saying it now, I adore sunrise and sunset colors, I hope she somehow incorporates magenta and pink into her build pallette which are underrated sunset and sunrise colors, the pink and purple being the colors right between night and day, dusk and dawn.

The soul fire will-o-the-wisp is a nice touch for lore.

I hope she and Katherine get into a Princess quest thing soon. Afaik they're canonically the only self-identifying princesses of the server.

M. Minecraft????

I........ just found, like, a text file in my laptop that's just......... Minecraft worldbuilding??????? for a fake SMP???????????????? for the gang????????????????????????????

It looked cool so uh, here, have it, I Guess.

I also vaguely remember the PC lores, so if I'm feeling up to it maybe I'll also post that.

The inhabitants of the Minecraft world (specifically the Overworld) are separated into two kinds, the Miners and the Craftians. Craftians are sentient mobs, e.g. pillagers and villagers; Miners are the players. Miners and Craftians do not understand each other. They speak completely different languages and write in completely different systems. Craftians are inherently unable to understand Miners, but Miners are free to try and learn Craftian.

Miners are..... otherworldly. Remnants of something Far Greater, shards of What Used to Be. This is why they're able to withstand God's Chamber, and not come out of it insane.

God's Chamber is the abstract endgame poetry. The conversation between Green and Blue. This text is only understandable by the Miners; Craftians are unable to process this well and go mad. This eldritch quality of what is considered the Creator of Minecraft (hence why it's called God's Chamber) is the same reason why Craftians cannot comprehend Miners. No one is truly sure why interaction with Miners doesn't drive Craftians insane.

Many Craftians believe Miners to be remnants of God. In addition to the aforementioned ability to comprehend the incomprehensible, they are also the only known creature in Minecraft to be able to accept an Elytra and ascend, without already being holy in the first place.

The End is akin to Heaven. Aside from the Endermen, it used to be populated by angelic beings known as Elytrians, but currently only one remains in a "pure" form (see: Blitz Rayne). Most Elytrians nowadays are seen in two forms (and are typically not realized to be Elytrians, unless you already know beforehand): the Ghasts and the Wither.

Ghasts are fallen Elytrians who stepped into the Nether, therefore foresaking their holiness in its entirety and becoming "corrupted". They weep for their lost light.

When Elytrians die, their souls are stripped of their holiness and sent to the Nether, where the empty husks become Withers. They are filled with wrath.

When Elytrians lose their holiness, either by dying or by falling, it is kept in the End, free for any to take. It materializes into an Elytra.

Craftians are typically too fragile to inherit this holiness. They get overwhelmed, and are "corrupted" into Endermen. Endermen are akin to a fortune teller: they hold visions and prophecies within them. One can glean such visions by looking into an Enderman's eyes, but this takes it away from the Enderman. Endermen regard this as taking away their holiness, and they don't like that.

The Nether is akin to Hell. Craftians do not like things that come from the Nether.

The Craftians believe Overworld skeletons, zombies, and zombie piglins are dead souls who have escaped the Nether. They blame the Miners for assisting them, since they're the only ones known to have the capability to build Nether portals.

Wither skeletons are dead souls of no specific vice; piglins are those who died in Greed; piglin brutes are those who died in Wrath; striders are the ferrymen; blaze are demonic guards, assigned to ensure no dead soul escapes their prison (known to Miners as the Nether fortress); magma slimes are just demon slimes.

Craftians view mobs such as slimes and creepers to be urban legend, i.e. they don't believe they exist, death involving them is waved off as freak accidents, and those who claim to have encountered them seen as insane.

A “Dream SMP”/Tales from the SMP quasi-crossover AU where when c!Karl arrives at The Other Side, he learns he’s not only able to travel through time, but through the fabric of space.

Unfortunately, the poor newbie happens to open up portals into other universes.

30+ portals at once, to be exact. Accidentally crashing through them are people that.... he should recognize? He can’t tell. Their faces look familiar, but he can’t seem to remember all them. Except they aren’t even the people he knew; not all of them at least.

Listed below are some of them.

Falling through the first portal, an injured, winded man clad in minimal armor and a green cape wields readies a sharpened axe. Dream, and his unforgettable smile. But he looks around frantically, as if expecting danger, prey facing an unseen predator. When Karl has the chance to ask about his fear, Dream talks of a troop chasing him down to end his life, to protect the Dragon that had taken over the End. (Minecraft Manhunt)

A scream rings out from another, and in runs a tall boy with a mask and a pair of mismatched sunglasses. Scratch marks have torn through his white shirt and the top layer of skin on his abdomen. He was looking over his shoulder, also being chased. For him, it was by a horror incomprehensible. He didn’t even see the portal open in his path because of how imminent the threat behind him was. Ranboo, though baffled about where he is, gives the stranger a hug as thanks for saving him. (A Horror genre)

One of the portals makes a path, an escape, for a man in a high-tech suit with wings. On his collarbone, there’s a heart. Following him is a powerful blast, fire, singed papers, shards of thick glass. He collides with the floor so harshly that one of the wings and the armor are damaged and require fixing. As he rises, he tries to call over a built-in intercom in his helmet, too overwhelmed to realize his predicament: “This is Heart. Does anyone read me? ...come in, GDL, this is Philza!” As he takes in his surroundings and the closing portals around him, he’s filled with dread for what’s happened to his world. One boy looks far too calm to realize his changed environment. The portal opened up beneath him while he worked at his bench, littered with blueprints, instructions, and a craftsman’s materials and tools. His brown hair is pulled back from his eyes by a headband, and his clothes and hands are stained with oil. He turns around, calling out to a friend to “Come look at the progress I’ve made!” but he sees only strangers. Even then, Tubbo remains levelheaded, but now curious about all of the worlds he’s now collided with. (Tekkit, or B-Team?)

Karl stands, filled with embarrassment about his mistake, and dread for the consequences. The portals all close, and the uproar begins as the poor souls, now trapped in a strange universe, demand to know what’s going on. Some are briefly relieved, others need to get home. The time-hopper apologizes and tries to open all of their previous portals once more. Instead, a brand new portal opens above, and a scream grows louder as it gets closer.

Landing on top of the hunted man is an armored and battle-scarred piglin, clutching a staff to his chest. His face is smudged with old dirt, and one of his feet is replaced by a prosthetic. Instead of a helmet, he wears a straw hat. He looks around and hurries to stand, pointing his weapon at everyone around him. Technoblade looks to have just left a fight of some kind. (Hypixel/Sky Block)

His portal closes too.

Following is a few weeks of everyone bonding in The Other Side while Karl tries to open portals to their worlds without letting more strangers in. They all try to help in some way. Some even accompany him to the Dream SMP and discreetly interact with the world. Everyone else there is from a different universe/server, except for ONE person that c!Karl knows and drags into his strange time/space hijinks (could be c!Tommy? Possibly c!Quackity?).

Meanwhile, other universes are filled with people missing their friends, some trying to find a way to get them back.

Empires SMP-Spirts/Fae AU

Hey! So I was watching Shubble’s stream(right after her first episode and as she was playing, I got some ideas for the Empires SMP! Note: I haven’t watched everyone’s episodes on Empires, but I highly suggest that you check them all out. Pearl and Gem’s videos on Empires are some of my favorites, but I also love Shubble, Scott, fWhip, and Pixlriffs.

Initial World-building: I like to think that the Empires SMP is a story of spirits/fae/royal courts. For example some of the players would be spirits or fae creatures. (Think Scott, Shubble, Jimmy?? And maybe Pixl), and the rest would be normal, human players that are royals. (Again, fWhip, Mythical, Pearl, Katherine, Joey, Gem, etc…) I’ll start with the fae creatures first and if I’m up to it, I’ll post my ideas for the others.

Scott Smajor: Ice/Wind

So in my head, I like to think that Scott is a fae creature from the court of ice and wind. (Mostly because ice powers are cool and because he’s in a mountain). He has explicitly stated that he’s building in an elven sort of style, which can still match with him being from a fae court.

Personality:

I would like to say he’s cold, calculating, and even ruthless or cruel at times (He murdered Gem after she died, guys, come on). He sees the people around him as assets that can help him, but he doesn’t form a real connection with any of them just yet. Everything is very strict and formal around him

I like to think that because wind spirits are pretty mischievous and free spirited, he has a softer side to him as well. He likes to pull pranks, but doesn’t know when too far is too far. His pranks can border on cruel and sometimes insensitive, but it’s because wind/ice spirits are probably the most detached from the other spirits

Appearance:

As for his appearance, I’m taking his skin as part of my inspiration. I like the idea of him in whites, blues, golds, and silvers. He has a crown of diamond shards that mimic ice and is held together with silver and gold that mimic branches. His robes are mostly white(representing snow) and there would be a trim of blue for the skies above his lands. He might have either arm bands, bracelets, or rings that are made of silver or gold(representing the times when the sun or moon hits the snow).

Powers(?)

Because Scott is an ice/wind spirit, I think it would be cool if parts of him would reflect that. Maybe his skin is super pale and cold to the touch. Maybe he doesn’t wear furry coats because he doesn’t get cold.

The air around him gets colder when he’s angry or stressed, and if he gets really pissed, he could make it start to snow around him. When he’s sad, ice starts to freeze the ground under his feet or plants around him. Maybe it gets windy when he’s happy or dies down when something shocks him

I also think it’d be cool if he had like… frost walker(?) on his feet. Like the water freezes should he get too close and he doesn’t even realize it until someone points it out. It makes travel easy for him, but also an annoyance when he is doing a build or getting a bucket of water

Shubble: Nature/Decay

So Shubble’s kingdom/empire is called the Undergrowth. When I think of that, I think of mushrooms, soil, roots, and trees. It’s pretty close to what she’s planning right now. Her style of building gives me very cottage core vibes that’s very overgrown. I like to think that she’s a nature spirit because she has said that nature provides and that just seems like a very spirit thing to say.

So I know I said decay, but when it comes to decay, it has an interesting look to everyone. Sometimes it’s bleached bones and withered grass, sometimes it’s spongy soil and mushrooms. I like to think that Shubble is the kinder side to decay(That’s saved for someone else). Something that must happen for the cycle of life to continue, she isn’t ruthless or cruel, she’s just trying to help the earth along.

Personality:

Shubble would be very kind, sweet, and overall very trusting. That doesn’t mean she’s stupid or naive, it just means she’s willing to be kind to people first and give them chances to show their kindness. (I spent a long time in her chat during her streams and… yeah, wholesome energy).

She doesn’t see the people around her as assets and rather hopes to make friends rather than enemies. I won’t say she forms connections quickly(mostly because I haven’t seen her interact with others just yet). But she is very trusting. (remember fWhips potatoes and Pearl’s shovel). During her stream after her first episode aired, she talked about hoping to be friends with Katherine from House Blossom and is aiming to stay as peaceful as possible during the time of the server.

Appearance:

So I haven’t seen her skin yet(mostly because this is coming out before we see it.) But she’s using a lot of browns, yellows, greens, and reds. I would like to say that her outfit would sort of reflect that. Instead of a crown of precious gems and metals, it’s maybe a crown of twigs, branches, leaves, and maybe some smaller mushrooms. (Antlers would be cool, so… )

I don’t think a dress would work, since she does a lot of work around her base. (Her stream was having her working with trees, leaves, and mining), so I think maybe a pair of overalls (maybe a brown?), a yellow/red undershirt and maybe a dark green jacket. Her outfit would be perfect for her to get on her hands and knees and dig into the earth(Gardener! Shubble).

Powers:

I feel like because Shubble has this overall sweet and kind energy, I think mushrooms would grow from around her feet. Maybe she can sense when things are about to pass on and tries to make them as comfortable as possible. She can communicate with the earth below her(again, nature provides), and can speak with the animals to some degree

I would like to see spore blossoms react to her. Since spores are also the seeds for mushrooms, it’d just make sense in my head. Maybe she can coax plants to bloom or grow slightly faster around her if she’s happy. Maybe when she’s sad, things start to wilt or shrivel up. Her anger makes things die or age rapidly around her. Her touch can either harm or heal. Knitting the body’s wounds or it could tear into them, causing them agony.

Jimmy: Ghosts/Decay

I like to think that maybe Jimmy started out human. Or maybe he’s half human. Like one of his parents was human and the other was a fae. (It would certainly explain his skin)

Personality:

So I haven’t watched a lot of Jimmy, but I wanted to get this off my chest because it’s been in my head for a while now. I think Jimmy, like Shubble, is trusting. Not as much as Shubble, but he does aim for friendship first and then enemy second. So, maybe he’s an opportunist instead.

Another thing that he might be is petty or spiteful(see his and Sausage’s argument over a music disc). Another ruler might negotiate or bargain their way to what they want, but I think that either Jimmy is pretty young(for fae standards) or his mixed bloodline makes it hard for him to act with a clearer head. It’s pretty clear that he wants others to take him seriously, but at the same time, he can act very impulsive and rashly(See all of 3rd life).

Appearance:

It’s pretty clear that Jimmy has that green tinge to his skin. But I think he would have colours such as green(for obvious reasons), browns, and maybe some greys(for clay in the swamp). He wouldn’t have a crown, instead, he’d have a set of gills on each side of his neck. Since I like to think that he swims around in the swamp to talk to the cod in his kingdom.

For more formal events, he might have a brown cloak and pants with a rich green tunic. He doesn’t look the most royal, but maybe that’s okay because he doesn’t want to be seen as super royal to the rest of his kingdom. Maybe he feels like if he appears to be too royal, the people of his kingdom wouldn’t approach him.

Powers:

So Jimmy’s was pretty difficult. Swamps aren’t like ice and wind or nature. But he is a spirit of decay. A less kind version of decay, but not overall cruel. Maybe his decay strikes faster than Shubbles. Where she is understanding and aims to help those along, Jimmy is buried with memories, sunken bodies, and ghostly apparitions.

So maybe he can see the dead, ghosts who haven’t passed on and simply wander his empire. His eyes glow a faint green whenever he talks to them and tries to aid them to move on to the afterlife.When he’s happy, he shines in the dark backdrop of the swamp, drawing more of the dead, eager to pass on.

Maybe his anger results in ghostly wails or being dragged into the soft earth around his home. His sadness draws more of the dead to his area, even if they didn’t die there. His pain and grief is like a blackhole, pulling souls in and forcing them to stick around, stuck in his orbit. Maybe a certain few stayed because he was the first one who spoke to them, who reached out to them, who made an effort.

Pixlriffs:Time/Death

So Pixlriffs has said that he wants to watch over the others deaths with his vigil and he lives in a desert, so I thought they would work with each other. When you think of time, you think of hourglasses, they have sand so that’s the connection I made.

Personality:

So Pix has shown an unhinged side to his overall calm and collected composure.(Example, Episode Ten, I think?) His: I sent five people to their deaths and they granted me wings(paraphrased) line is both chilling and is also perfect for a spirit of time/death.

He, like Scott, is a bit disconnected from the others. Not by accident or nature, but by choice. As a spirit of time and death, he sees the clocks above everyone’s heads, knowing when their last breaths will be taken and when those clocks finally stop.

It’s not that he’s apathetic to his fellow kings and queens, but rather he is scared. He doesn’t want to form connections only to see them disappear like a drop of sand in a desert. He wishes to honour the people who have weaseled their way into his heart. So he keeps the vigil to count their deaths and remind them that they will not be forgotten. Pixl is a watcher, an overseer that is afraid of the day his friends will pass on and leave him alone.

Appearance:

The man calls himself the copper king, so I have to have those shades of copper in his outfits somewhere. Teal, brown(for bronze), and those shades between (for copper)are very good(both in builds and on clothes). I also think that pale yellow(representing the sand) is also a nice touch and green for his lush gardens is also a wonderful tone.

He has a cape that is mostly teal(I’m thinking the shift between the third to final stage) with a bronze belt. The pale yellow would be his shirt and his pants would be a darker brown. Matching his boots.

I think he would have a crown with pale yellow crystals(yellow zircon or topaz) with bronze wires making up the rest of the crown. Maybe there are pieces of turquoise or aquamarine, that would be cool too.

Powers:

The man is basically a watcher. He has wings and can see through time. Like I said before, he can see the clocks ticking above the other players’ heads. Seeing how long they have until their last breath. Pixl is equal parts chaotic and calm. So I think he has a good control over his emotions.

When he’s stressed things start to wilt under his feet(another reason he lives in a desert), in his anger, he can cause death. Maybe he’s just an omen or something that draws in death. (See his end raiding attempts one and two). I like to think that maybe he has the ability to hold flames or make small ones(just for his candles), he isn’t violent or uses them to hurt others. He simply just uses them to light his candles.

He’s more than capable with his other abilities.
