In Colombia a barbarism is being committed, the corrupt authority commits genocides, rapes women, kills children and attacks protesters who are fighting for a decent future. We must not be silent, we must promote and help. Enough of the violence, enough of the abuse, enough of the blood. No one should lose their life fighting for food to put in their mouths for themselves and their family members. If this matters to you, if the human lives that are dying matter to you, share and help.
This is and will be the first and last post for a while. Everyone’s eyes on Colombia 🇨🇴 . #shoutout to @wlrous for this post. You are right, ART can change the world. I was not going to post anymore, but you are worthy of this for your talent. #masacre #otramasacreimpune #cuantosañosmas #nomassangre the whole world needs to pray for Colombia. . . #medueles #meduelescolombia #soscolombia #soscolombiaddhh #soscolombianosestanmatando https://www.instagram.com/p/COfgnbJnZV1/?igshid=3iuxpqlfjlqe
Do you have any donation links for Colombia? I want to help but all the info I’ve seen is just info, it’s not telling me how to help other than petitions and I will sign the petitions but I don’t know if they’re that effective I would rather help people on the ground there, people who need it
ofc, it’s not been easy to find any cos they’ve not gotten as much attention on socials! here’s just a few, i’ll make a full post of donations/petitions etc. as soon as i can x
I don't usually talk about this sort of thing/advocate for petitions on here but this? It's SERIOUS. People are going to DIE.
Taken from the petition description (important parts highlighted):
Since April 28th, the people of Colombia have been protesting an abusive tax reform bill proposed by the government. However, today the government response is to militarize and send armed forces to suppress the population.
On the night of May 2nd, after having to retract the reform that robbed the patience of the people, a disproportionate and violent reaction by the authorities began that resulted in multiple massacres against the civilian population.
On the night of May 3rd, the massacres intensified. The protests were contained and repressed by systematic exercises of violence, including images that have been seen of police groups that have threatened and attacked the civilian population.
Until May 4 in the morning, more than 31 deaths were known, 10 victims of sexual violence and hundreds of cases of violence against protesters. As the hours pass, dozens of reports of new cases of violence arrive. Despite this, the Government of Iván Duque continues to promote the use of weapons by the public force and the Army to silence legitimate protest.
During the night of May 4 and dawn of May 5, violence increased in different cities; It is reported that in Cali, while there was a confrontation, the Internet service was blocked to prevent the population from sharing what was happening on social media. There is talk of hundreds of disappeared, many dead; the use of long-range weapons by the public forces is observed.
Today, THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT OFFER A GUARANTEE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN COLOMBIA.
Because of this, Colombians cry out for international help in order to stop this genocide. We ask the UN in its different departments, especially the Security Council, to intervene to stop this massacre.
TLDR; the Colombian government is SHUTTING DOWN THEIR INTERNET so that it can legally murder and repress it's people (children and elderly included), which is taking away their HUMAN RIGHTS, without the rest of the world seeing.
You can sign the petition here to help (it's free and takes literally 5 seconds):
If you don't want to sign, then please reblog and share this if you can! I don't usually post stuff like this, but this time I HAVE to- children could be murdered.
Hey guys, so as you might know, Colombia is in trouble right now. The government is allowing police to kill peaceful protestors and you should take some time off your schedule to sign this petition:
