I know I'm about to drop a pretty hot take that pisses off alot of trans folks (plus I saw a post shitting on "tucutes" forgetting that they were fighting transmeds also its 2023 I thought we moved past that shit) anyways.
Being trans is a choice for some folks. Especially nonbinary folks. For some, the choice framework is empowering.
For me personally, I feel like framing it as a choice is important to me. I choose everyday to live my happiest life in the face of cis discomfort. I choose to be loud and proud and vibrantly trans, to be myself. And maybe someday in the future, I'll choose a different identity or a different way of living. But for now? I love being trans and I love that I was given the chance and choice and joy to live this way.
I also think sexuality can be framed this way, especially with the variety of identities and definitions available. For me, I like to keep it simple and use queer as a catchall (and include my gender) but I'll also sometimes use gay, mlm, nblm, and demi^2. These are all choices I have made, about who I am and how I want to present myself. And again, I fucking love it. I love being a silly little gay boy and I love that I get to be that.
If none of this applies to you, if being trans or gay or whatever wasn't a choice for you, that's fine. The amazing thing about humans is our individuality and messiness. I just think it's important to point out that, like "I was always trans" doesn't apply to everyone, neither does "It's not a choice".

shaking your hand firmly in agreement for your tags fr fr. people who dont speak any spanish dont get how latinos have so many dialects and how different it is living in a english speaking country compared to actually living in your culture's homeland. like miles isnt a gringo!! he explicitly is connected to his culture just isnt the best at spanish which is super common with the latin-american experiance!
YA !!! I literally only know castellano bc it's what's taught in the school system, but I pick up slang and simple sentences from my community (especially w living in NY, ur like, surrounded by latinos u cannot go without picking up some stuff from them). W/ how Miles speaks (starting off well, but filling in words with english that slips his mind) (calling his mom mami, miguel tio, but his dad dad) ("is that spanglish?")(stammering speaking castellano but being fine speaking puertorriqueno) It's just ;; very latino kid u kno. I think the problem is too many yt ppl like, grabbing hold of a realistic portrayal of an afrolatino boy and instead seeing his imperfections as flaws, simply so they can connect to him more rather than taking time to understand how his culture and lifestyle shapes him. They'll call him gringo or no sabo kid because it's a joke that they can get in on and it's just. Frustrating ??? They want him to b white so bad

you know that thing where like men will wear dresses or be feminine for a gimmick or as a trend etc which is all well and good but then theres people who can only handle seeing a man in a dress as a gimmick or as like a Thing where it's not casual or an everyday thing like they can only handle it when its specifically for a Bit bc they could never take a man just casually in a dress as anything casual, it'd be an affront to them for you to think a man in a dress can be anything but a gimmick so if you try to do it casually you're insane, and if you do it as a bit you are agreeing with them (youre not but they think you are). anyway this is how people are with genderfluid characters they can never just exist and casually be genderfluid they Have to be some sort of shapeshifting or weird over the top mystical being and it has to be a gimmick or it has to fit their persona or something for you to even consider them genderfluid because nobody could possibly casually be that without it being some sort of set piece for a punchline. how often do u see people even hc characters as genderfluid just cus. yknow.

Trying not to be annoyed at the people commenting on my mass effect wishlist about how they like the boob windows actually, because I get it’s a kind of jokey response to a kind of jokey post. I get wanting a bit of fanservice on occassion, or wanting to have optional sexy outfits or characters who dress in a sexy way if it suits their personality and/or the occassion (such as a character dressing up for a party).
But please tell me you didn’t somehow play the entire trilogy without noticing the massive disparity between male and female character design. I am not being jokey anymore, it’s genuinely gross how the games were seemingly so at a loss about what to do with a woman who can’t be sexualized that they simply refused to feature them at all, and all you can say is 'but I like the boob windows'!!
Okay yeah I'm annoyed.

musical theatre masculinity has a specific type of goofiness of hardened criminals and big burly sailors who are doing beautiful dancerly leaps across stage in tight ballet pants. thinking about the west side story opening number. thinking about there is nothing like a dame. anyway this could be butch if we dreamed hard enough
