Thank you so much for your ask!--because yes, I do have some headcanons :)

Calian fell in love first: Lets be honest, it is so clear that Abby was love at first sight for Calian. The way he is so supportive, protective, and there for Abby (and she is too) just seems like he is head-over-heals. I think Abby cares and has feelings for Calian, but with everything she was trying to figure out in the first season her feelings are convoluted. So with that, I think Calian will say I love you first.

Abby kisses Calian first: While I think Calian fell first, he seems reserved about showing it, out of respect for Abby, and because he cares so much. But Abby is a go-getter, and I think once her emotions are revealed, she will act.

Calian loves Abby's strawberry-blonde hair: He loves looking at it and I think he secretly wants to run his fingers through it. Calian finds it beautiful, and he has thought Abby the most alluring woman since finding her.

Abby gets on her tip toes when embracing Calian: While she is not short, Abby loves getting on her tip toes to kiss or embrace Calian. She loves looking into his eyes, eyes that have always been open and honest and true to her.

They love to meet in secret: While Abby loves visiting the natives, and Calian will visit town occasionally, their love still has a bit of a forbidden element. Let's not forget the "Some might not want to see an Apache with a white woman" comment. So they love to meet in secret, steal kisses, and have all the time they want together ;)

What made you ship it?

He literally saved her life for one. And he kept coming into town for her sake even though it made him uncomfortable. He trusts her so much and she believes in him in ways almost no one else does. I just love how they support each other

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

They way they support each other and lift each other up. Calian was 100% onboard with investigating Tom and his family, even though it was dangerous for him. And Abigail was ready to risk everything to prove him innocent after Francis death.

The love, the trust, the chemistry.... It's all there

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have for the ship?

Again, idk if there are enough opinions out there for there to be unpopular ones. But I do think this ship is a great way to explore tensions between America and the natives and how these white/native relationships went down in history.

I am so happy to see interest in Abby and Calian from Walker: Independence! Even though the show has been canceled, we get to have as much fun as we want with these two :) So here is a little tidbit of a fic I have been working on. Please be aware this holds spoilers for the end of season one. Enjoy!

As Abby walked, the sounds of Independence were traded for the rustling of the wind in the grass. She walked and walked until she found a field of tall grass, there she let herself lay, the sun beaming down on her, making beads of sweat pop around her neck. She let the feel and sound of the grass drown out her thoughts, hoping she could find peace.

Abby did not regret her seeking the truth, being certain, and collecting evidence. However, she now knew that truth was rarely easy to come by, and most of the time, truth was veiled by many lies.

Tom Davidson and his family were still out there, and this time she was not fooled anymore, nor was she going to let them get away with their schemes. But sometimes lies could be appealing, and as she remembered Tom, she remembered what it felt like to believe a lie.

She closed her eyes to the sun, wishing she could forget, but in the end, she just had to move on.

“I was wondering how long you were going to lay there.”

Abby’s head bolted up at the sound of his voice. Though she could barely see over the tall grass, she knew it was Calian. A small part of her had wanted to run into him while she was out here.

“I suppose it is still better than finding me half dead.”

A look crossed his face she could not make out.

“Finding you in any way is better than that, Djon-deh-zee.
