This drama is topbilled by actors Ishihara Satomi and Go Ayano.
It's been ages since I saw Ishihara in Rich Man Poor Woman which was the first ever jdrama I saw. Meanwhile Go Ayano looks so young back then in Soratobu Kouhoushitsu with Yu Aragaki.I find him very attractive back in the day.
How time flies so fast and glad to see them both working in another drama.
In this drama Mio works as an oceanographer while Rintaro was a rich business heir assigned on a new project to develop a resort and an observation tower at Hoshigahama.
However, Mio and Rintaro holds different beliefs and ideas regarding the said project.
Throughout the drama Mio has this supernatural ability to talk to marine animals and it turns out that she lives in the ocean. This is not like any other mermaid tale where a lost princess from an ocean kingdom went to the human world in search for true love. But Mio know exactly where she came from and her main mission is to protect the Hoshigahama sea her home. But what is fairytale without love anyway.
Episode 8 was a blast.Rintaro just declared his love for Mio.
Mio and Rintaro decided to discuss things out and he planned a farewell party for Mio knowing that she has to return to the ocean anytime soon.
Before she left he sought her advice regarding the project and to replace the tower knowing about its adverse affect on the ocean.
Mio's colleagues were very supportive and will surely miss her.She has garnered public attention regarding her background but most notably for her works.
So the three brothers reconciled and the younger sibling helped managed their family business.
Rintaro resides near Hoshigama and waited for Mio's return.
Saw you’re looking for jdrama recs to watch with your mother and remembered you said she liked understated and slow stuff. Have you seen Soratobu Kouhoushitsu? Slow, VERY slice-of-life romance with Ayano Go and Aragaki Yui and it’s somehow about airplanes, journalism and the Japanese Self-Defense Force’s public relations team more than it is about the romance... but I feel like it’s a mom kind of jdrama, maybe? IDK, I enjoyed it.
no i haven’t but i think i spoke with oomf(mina) about it before?? and i can’t remember if she liked it or not lol anyway i’ll keep it in mind maybe test watch an ep first before i start it with her bc my pet peeve is when we’re watching something for the first time and she starts rolling her eyes and starts looking at her phone which has been the jdrama experience so far lmao
this supervisor has been being overly critical of his female employees’ work so she had suitboy hand in her article while she handed in his in order to prove it in front of god and everyone

- Nigehaji
- Zenkai Girl
- Hotaru no Hikari
- Okitegami Kyoko

Not really sure about movies though, sorry.
