batman adaptations either seem to have kind of an anti-time period thing going on (vaguely in date tech with vaguely advanced tech and for some reason everyones always wearing a suit and the women always have 1950/ haircuts and dresses) or are pretty accurate to the time period they were made in without being corny abt it but i want a gotham that is in a decidedly unsexy time period. i want a batman adaptation that takes place in 2009. bruce wayne wears a fedora with an otherwise casual outfit bc its fashionable for the time. harley quinn has denim shorts over pattered forever21 leggings. ed nygma owns stuff from that weird era where everything has a mustache on it. selena kyle wears a zebra print dress with a brightly colored neon bra showing thru it and shes seen as the hottest woman in the world. the iceburg lounge plays fire burning by sean kingston. do you see my vision here

i already posted abt this somewhere else but i was infodumping abt voltron to my best friend last night and went to rewatch the "i cradled you in my arms" scene so i could remember it properly and i paused right after lance said he didnt remember anything and im fucking pissing myself this is a man that is truly defeated like he wanted lance coming out of the healing pod to be like every fanfic where they have a crazy romantic reconciliation post healing pod and it simply did not happen. if i were keith here id flee the country. the look of simultaneous pain and confusion and emptiness is impossible to articulate. going thru every stage of grief at once. how they managed to fit this much anguish in so few lines is beyond me. and all over a man who listens to weezer and uses axe

if they ever made a live action voltron (they never will and i thank god every day) id want it to use practical effects but like star trek level. everythings got rlly dim LEDS in it and the alien characters have spotty paint and painstaking but not quite believable sfx makeup on. the sets are obviously soundstages and not well lit at all. the props are nerf guns that are spray painted or made out of shitty foam. the budget is like 5 dollars. this is my dreams.
