How do you imagine the Cullens and Bella dressing like in your book?
similar style but slight adjustments.
Bella probably goes through the biggest change. she starts off In the Afterlight wearing jeans, band tees, chunky sweaters, & very eclectic pieces (bowling shirt ABSOLUTELY exists). in Come Nightfall she changes - she 1) won't wear anything she stole from Edward (i.e. sweaters and flannels), 2) does so much activity outdoors she's wearing exclusively athletic wear, and 3) is forced to hide her scent later on so objectively dresses WORSE with stained, mismatched thrift-store clothes. doesn't own a khaki skirt. in By Starlight, now that Edward's home, she's back to athletic wear. Edward likes this very, very much.
Edward has the same style with more color. NO sleeveless white button-up because what the FUCK. when he's hunting, he's a jeans and flannel shirt kinda guy - he'll often wear clothes he hates when hunting. (ofc, now that Bella wears his flannel shirts, he's rethinking his tastes.) otherwise, day-to-day, he's a loose slacks, undershirt, & suspenders kinda guy (think 1950s or 20s). nice button-ups and dark fitted sweaters in deep, dark colors like navy, burgundy, phthalo green. extremely lame in a cute way. light spoilers for future chaps, but this man is literally always trying to hide his body.
i picture the Cullens dressing mostly in timeless outfits and styles.
Esme adores dresses and skirts à la Audrey Hepburn. classic, chic, evergreen. she would wear neutrals the most day-to-day but adores flowing prints and polka dots when she feels in the mood :) definitely wears ratty skirts or jeans when gardening.
Rosalie's casual/business casual style has some Princess Di influences with some modern trends mixed in (thanks to Alice). keeps some greasy old jeans and overalls for her mechanic work.
Carlisle really misses wearing embroidered brocaded waistcoats & frilly shirts. thinks modern men's fashion is boring. slacks and button-ups for this man. CARDIGANS ALL DAY. misses wearing ascots, but likes scarves. god, he hates modern men's fashion.
Jasper actually loved his 90s grunge/punk era and never really left it. army boots/doc martins (with the coded laces OFC), ripped jeans, plaid shirts, band tees, beanies, leather jackets with handsewn patches.
Emmett is jeans and tees all day. James Dean kinda guy with the boots, slacks/jeans, nice white tee, bomber jacket.
Alice is a freak. she's following every trend. she says it's to keep the Cullens in the modern world (true - to their dismay, she WILL go through their closets and add/subtract items). but really, it's her way to stay connected to the present day. she has ofc rare commissioned pieces from different designers, beautiful pieces from eras long gone that she can't bear to part with (because ofc everything comes back in style), weird pieces from niche trends... but she absolutely DOES dress like she's straight from a 2000s-era issue of Seventeen. for better or worse.

it's severely missing vice versa hours (as always) so, let's go with your top picks for puen's best looks?
CASSI I NEED YOU TO KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU FOR ASKING ME THIS BUT ALSO THAT YOU MADE ME GO THROUGH 15 DIFFERENT LIFE CRISIS AND DEVELOP 8 NEW MENTAL ILLNESSES IN THE SPAN OF 3 DAYS TRYING TO ANSWER THIS. also im ONLY NOW realizing, as im posting this, that you didn’t actually ask me my top 10, but just my TOP. FULL STOP. so i could have picked 3 or 5 and reply way sooner……… maybe it’s me. i am the problem. IM SO SORRY BUT STILL. HERE WE GO
1. the wedding outfit in episode 4. I LOVE WHEN PUEN WEARS ANY KIND OF SHADE FROM PINK TO RED SO THIS IS LITERALLY MY DREAM OUTFIT FOR HIM. he looks positively radiant in it and idk if you can see it, but when i was taking that full body screenshot i realized that the white pants are slightly see-through and i think i momentarily blacked out for a minute or 10 or 10000. ALSO DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I WISH HE COULD WEAR THIS FOR HIS OWN WEDDING WITH TALAY IT’S LITERALLY PERFECT CAN THEY JUST RECREAT IT INTO THEIR UNIVERSE TOO IM BEGGING.
Tumblr media
2. the interview look in episode 12. I ACTUALLY CAN'T WRITE DOWN HALF OF THE THINGS IM THINKING ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THERE ARE MINORS ON THIS SITE so im just gonna say that the all black suit + the styled hair was a truly inspired combination and it's unfair that talay didn't get to witness all of this in person.
Tumblr media
3. the suspenders look in episode 1. I SIMPLY THINK THAT [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] THOSE HIPS DON'T LIE.
Tumblr media
4. the ombre(?) jacket outfit in episode 12. puen really showed up in front of god and the cameras to announce his undying love for talay wearing the skinniest pair of jeans known to man then powerwalked to talay’s house to win his mom over and i simply think that’s very sexy of him. also making puen wear blue, which is talay’s color, during this scene was such a big brain move, though the real pièce de résistance, the jewel in the crown, the cherry on top of an already delicious cake is THAT JACKET. the costume designer of the show truly said ‘if he’s not ouselling outserving outslaying while getting his man then i ain’t doing my job right’ and by god they delivered.
Tumblr media
5. the first glasshouse outfit in episode 4. this is my favorite kind of casual wear for puen: dark jacket, dark jeans, neutral boots, and the shirt giving a pop of color to the entire outfit, especially if that color is red. he looks SOOOOO GOOD in red. at one point puen also drives tun’s bike in this outfit and when they get to the glasshouse there’s a brief moment where you can see he’s about to take off his gloves which im pretty sure awakened something in me because i’ve been feeling unwell ever since (screenshot not included for the faint of heart and to preserve my sanity) [mostly for my sanity]
Tumblr media
6. the beach outfit in episode 9. LISTEN i know it's a very simple look, but i LOVE when puen wears button-up shirts with nothing else underneath. it's also giving so much mr darcy walking through the moors with his tits out to go tell elizabeth that she bewitched him body and soul and that he loves he loves he loves her and wishes from this day forth never to be parted from her in the 2005 pride and prejudice movie adaptation. LIKE SORRY BUT I LITERALLY SEE NO DIFFERENCE.
Tumblr media
7. the marriage proposal suit in episode 12. SOMETHING SOMETHING THE WAY PUEN’S COLOR PALETTE IS MADE OUT OF A LOT OF DARK NEUTRALS BUT THEY DECIDED TO DRESS HIM ENTIRELY IN LIGHT ONES WHEN HE PROPOSES TO TALAY. i’d say im reading too much into it except NOTHING IS CASUAL IN THIS SHOW. also his tiddies look great in that white undershirt and i just really like this suit, which is kinda surprising considering that i do prefer him in darker shades.
Tumblr media
8. the “pink theory” outfit in episode 10. OF COURSE i had to include one of the iconic sleeveless shirt looks and OF COURSE i had to go with the pink one. he wears quite a few in the alternate universe and i was very torn between this and the black one in the glasshouse at the end of episode 4, but in the end i just love him in this salmon color way too much and………………….. [loses tracks of what she’s saying because ARMS]
Tumblr media
9. the “tonight let’s go head over heels for each other” outfit in episode 12. you know how some people end up letting themselves go after entering a relationship? yeah, that’s not puen. you’d think he would chill out a little after finally getting with talay but NO!!!!! HE SAID TITS OUT FOR THE BOYFRIEND ALWAYS!!!!! TITS OUT FOR THE BOYFRIEND NOW MORE THAN EVER!!!!! and you know what? i respect his horny ass so much for it.
Tumblr media
10. the bathroom outfit (bucket hat on exclusively) in episode 1. ranked at the bottom because im actually not too fond of that jacket and it probably wouldn't have made it in my top 10 by itself HOWEVER!!!!! this outfit without the bucket hat? simply a lesser version of the interview suit in episode 12. this outfit WITH the bucket hat? BRILLIANT INCREDIBLE AMAZING SHOWSTOPPING SPECTACULAR NEVER THE SAME TOTALLY UNIQUE COMPLETELY NOT EVER DONE BEFORE. honestly no one should be able to look that good wearing a bucket hat THAT'S SIMPLY TOO MUCH POWER.

Dress Shirts.  Simple.
An essential element to any layering entourage is an attractive button up, often complimented by a subtlety toned undershirt.  I feel I’m preaching to the choir; few style-conscious individuals would argue against the innate versatility of this classic shirt category.  This article of clothing is never beyond current trends (in fact, flannels and button-ups are very much in at the moment) and can be worn in myriad fashionable ways.  When layering, they add extra eye-candy and detail when coupled with a trendy bomber or utility jacket, left un-buttoned all the way down to expose a crisp undershirt and radiate a casual atmosphere.  In other cases, the presence of a button-up can be more muted if placed under a crew-neck sweater (notice how I only mentioned CREW necks and not V necks; take notes).  Some prefer the buttoned-up and tucked in look, maybe with a tie and suspenders; the world is your oyster bro.  Form-fitting or loose and oversized, vibrantly patterned and colored or quietly earth toned, unbuttoned or fastened to the collar, these garments are a fantastic and often a cheap addition to any man’s wardrobe.
Generally, when incorporating this highly versatile style into my outfits I wear dark, relaxed tones such as navy blue, dark green, maroon, the like, which grants me the ability of matching to virtually any pair of shoes or jeans or khakis at my immediate disposal.  Recent days have seen me wearing more baggy shirts with the sleeves slightly cuffed, completely unbuttoned, with a one or two-tone undershirt.  These were a gift from my girlfriend, whose grandparent’s let her and her cousins pillage their long untouched closets, pristine goldmines of retro style clothing  I acquired three new button-ups and a denim hoodie of sorts (all of which have been featured on my Instagram page, @senseoffresh), and I have been wearing the living crap out of them to be completely honest with you.
The loose-fit is both comfortable and fashionable, reminiscent of the 90’s style trends that are seemingly making a comeback in recent times.  Relaxed, but not overtly so in the sense it appears I am not trying.  Oh contraire mon friare! Asides from these vintage pieces, I love donning my more modern, subtlety striped, dark blue Banana Republic dress shirt of a much less relaxed-against-my-skin nature.  I typically button it all the way to the collar and wear it on more formal occasions, or when I simply prefer appearing more put-together.  Coupled with my beige London Fog golf jacket and Kenneth Cole Reaction boots… you best know I’m looking slick.
I have several flannels that I have been experimenting with lately by wearing hoodies underneath them, a simple look I’ve come to adore.  Shout out to rappers like Issa Gold and AK the Savior (the Underachievers, check them out! Laaaawd.) who placed this trend on my radar.  My plaid light blue, black, and white American Eagle hoodie paired with a grey sleeveless hoodie underneath makes for an urban outfit worthy of the loudest concert venue; and don’t forget the dad hat.
Button-ups, dress shirts, long-sleeve, short-sleeve, it matters not my friends.  All are famously versatile, all are a worthwhile addition to any man’s style arsenal, all can incorporated into one’s very own, very unique Sense of Fresh.  Take some time to reevaluate your wardrobe, pullout and dust off those button-ups and flannels you forgot existed, and create.  Be daring in your fashion endeavors and experimenting until you discover what YOU like.  Be well gentlemen, until next time.
