One year ago today, I posted a picture of a WIP Gore. I had only worked on him for about 3 days before he was up on the nexus. I had never voice acted, written, scripted, or done anything in the creation kit aside from recalc bounds on grass mods. He went up I think with something like 300 lines, and got way more attention than I anticipated, which scared the absolute shit out of me. I spent the next year scrambling to cover everything I think a follower should, learning to voice, learning to code better (my early work is horrific, lol) and pouring my heart into this mod.
I had some ups and downs, mostly dealing with Skyrim itself or my mod list, sometimes other authors or users, but Gore is finally in a place I can be proud of. Thank you all for staying with me, especially those that were there from the very beginning. I'm honored to accompany you in some small part through Gore as you make your way through one of my all time favorite games (that i constantly shit-talk.) I'm honored that you choose to have him at your side. I'm honored most of all to host a small section of this community that has been safe for people of all walks of life. I love doing this work, and I don't plan on quitting any time soon, even if I am thoroughly enjoying my break, still. You're all the best.
The new Taliesin follower mod came out a few days ago, and I can’t wait to see more of his shenanigans with the other potential candidates. Exempt from Bishop, of course.
Please follow @dynamite124 for further development on this sassy Elven man. You will not be disappointed!
AU where the Dragonborn sends Khash to school and almost every day a different person picks her up.
At first it's not too weird. Like when an Argonian shows up and Khash immediately runs to her "Uncle Xelzaz" Khash's teacher just thinks it's nice, given she's adopted, that she has adults in her life who are like her.
Then there's her "Uncle Lucien" who gets distracted reading a history textbook. He points out multiple inaccuracies but is polite enough about it.
And it only gets weirder. There's a woman with a robot spider. A handsome man who looks very uncomfortable but lights up as soon as he sees Khash. A friendly blue khajiit. An Altmer who cracks ten jokes in the five minutes it takes to collect Khash. Another Altmer whom the teacher is pretty damn sure is that runsway Aldmeri prince.
At one point in class they do one of those activities where the kids draw a picture of their family. Khash considers for a moment and then asks for extra paper.
The figures in her drawing are mostly familiar to the teacher. Except for one or two. An Orc has never picked Khash up from school before, for instance.
I love skyrim modded followers cause they all interact with each other and it starts to feel like a road trip with your four best friends only now and then you get attacked by a dragon outside a 7/11
Gore is on hiatus. after 16 years active duty with4 deployments in the army, i'm retiring medically for my bipolar diagnosis, multiple TBIs, clavicle injury, etc. no idea where life will take me next, no idea when i'll be able to work on Gore again, but i'll miss you all.
life is a journey. i'm proud we got to go together in some small way on your journey through skyrim, and im proud of Gore. i'm proud of you, too.
this was so important to me. so many of you made me feel seen as i poured my heart out to you about my journey with war trauma, CSA, found family, learning to love life again. the tears ive shed seeing younger people heartbreakingly relate to him, the joy i felt making friends, lifelong ones, through this mod, it's unrivaled.
to the trans people out there fighting for your lives, know i will continue fighting with you until i fucking die. this mod was for you, it was for eden, who changed my life by simply being a part of it.
i love you all. see you, so soon, but be kind to each other in the meantime.
